3381  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Did I just messed up? on: July 09, 2022, 10:57:40 AM
to cut the story short, the wallet is only available on windows and after opening it gave me recovery seed and it automatically downloads .json file to my PC, this is the problem, I never want to copy or download anything crypto wallet to my PC because I believe writing down my recovery seed is a lot safer but now I got a JSON file

Correct me if I'm wrong, is the recovery seed inside the .json file? If it is, you can open it via notepad or any text editor you have to see what it contains. AFAIK .json file are not a virus and not an executable file that will put a malware on your computer without your consent.

Writing down a recovery seed also has some risk because there is a possibility that you will misplace it or someone in your house might throw it away so keep it properly and make multiple copies of it.
3382  Economy / Economics / Re: WHY ITS SO POSITIVE THIS BEARMARKET. on: July 09, 2022, 10:13:23 AM
From some of the sources I read, many think the crypto market is currently bottom, but elsewhere I see this as just the beginning, not getting to the point yet, For sure every crypto user has their own belief for the current bear market.

This is what I sense too. Let's remember that bear market after 2017's ATH lasted for more than a year and it only started to recover by mid 2020. Bear market has just started so there is a high chance that we will dump more. Despite the recovery from the past few days, I don't think this will continue going up like a market reversal. Since most of us know how this market moves, I'm pretty sure that accumulating as much as possible is the best thing to do.
3383  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can the price Hit back $50k this month? on: July 09, 2022, 09:12:05 AM
It's not likely to happen because if it does, it will create a huge green candle on the monthly timeframe. Those candles are usually followed by a red candle and that means a bloody month of august for bitcoin. I prefer a healthy slow rally than a sudden pump. Plus, many countries are facing a crisis now and there is a threat of recession globally which I think a pump to $50k this month is impossible.
3384  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bear Market thread on: July 09, 2022, 08:08:31 AM
Yep that's the fact. Yung mga knowledgable like us is tinatake advantage natin ang bear market to accumulate and hodl para pag dating ng araw is may profit tayo na magagain. They should learn to take opportunities though they should learn how crypto works first.

3385  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Unexpected Death? on: July 09, 2022, 05:54:30 AM
It's given that many countries are grieving his death because he is a good president. But he didn't have any known contribution to the crypto-community enough to shake the market. It's not like he is a developer of some crypto or owns a huge amount of bitcoin that his death will really make an impact to the market. Why is it when people around the world are affected by a certain news or issue, they always correlate it to bitcoin's price movement even if crypto is not related.
3386  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin security tips for beginners on: July 08, 2022, 03:45:10 PM
I will also add that never share to anyone your private or seed phrase. Use only the official links of a wallet before downloading it and putting your recovery phrase there. Make sure that your device is not compromised for some malwares that will result for your bitcoin and other crypto to disappear suddenly. Use multiple layer of security on hardware wallets. There are some that use fingerprint to approve transaction not just putting a 4-digit pin or alphanumeric password.
3387  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can a non technical newbie can learn about bitcoin? on: July 08, 2022, 01:43:37 PM
Internet has already the information we need to learn about bitcoin. If OP is really eager to learn about it then reading topics from different boards on this forum will already give him many idea what is bitcoin. You don't have to be a techy person to learn bitcoin. As long as you know the basic concept of bitcoin like how it works or how it can be traded then you're good to go. Just remember that investing into bitcoin is not a quick rich scheme. There are scammers that introduces bitcoin to newbies as a ponzi investment.
3388  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The cryptocurrency market is currently a hot spot for whales. on: July 08, 2022, 12:26:40 PM
The hot spot for whales is during a bull run. When people are hyped if a crypto is going parabolic, these whales are just watching and waiting for the perfect time to dump their bags. The current market condition is where whales are accumulating before the next cycle again. If price will go down more, then whales will be happier because they will be able to buy more amount with their capital. This is the time you can become a millionaire in the future if you know what to do.
3389  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino can play a role in changing fortune? on: July 08, 2022, 11:36:25 AM
His company is on the verge of bankruptcy. Smith come back to Las Vegas feeling sad. At that time Las Vegas was known as the capital of casinos. He had only $5,000 when he entered a casino with a depressed mind. His destiny was revealed. He earned about $27,000 with in a week.

Stories like this is what makes people that are also in desperate need for money try their luck on gambling. Not everyone is lucky like Smith and also not greedy like him. There are people that spends all of their money, become bankrupt and still won't earn anything. There are also others who are able to earn decent amount of money from gambling but they just lose it again because of their greediness to earn more from it.

3391  Economy / Economics / Re: Unemplyment at least 50% how world will look like then ? on: July 08, 2022, 09:51:59 AM
Freelancing has become a trend so not all unemployed are jobless like what most people think. New generations now are more open-minded, they are not afraid to explore other field of work that will also give them mental stability. Some of my friends said they earn 5x more compared to their previous 9 to 5 job. They can work freely at their own time and still able to do their hobbies. As long as there is an opportunity for someone to earn money at their own comfort, this high unemployment rate will not decrease.
3392  Economy / Speculation / Re: Have we reached a bottom price for BTC? on: July 08, 2022, 08:53:16 AM
What do you think? Has BTC reached the bottom? Will you buy more regardless of BTC's current market price? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. Smiley

This is just the beginning of bear season imo and I believe we will dump more in the coming months. If it breaks above $20k then that's just a relief rally and won't stay long or continue to go up again. My bias is bitcoin will reach $13k first as the bottom before the market starts to recover again. That would follow the historical corrections it made from its previous ATHs last year and 2017. Regardless if As long as the mainstream media is bearish in bitcoin, I will keep accumulating until it breaks $30k again.
3393  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why is bitcoin price important? on: July 08, 2022, 08:09:42 AM
i thought it was originally designed to just be a way to transfer digital cash in a decentralized manner but it seems like people don't really care about that part of it and all they care about is what its price is. seems they got the wrong idea of bitcoin.

Is there someone that only knows bitcoin because of its value and not aware of that utility? People that invest their money on bitcoin obviously knows that it can be transferred anywhere around the world.  Price is important because it's just like demand and supply. If price keeps crashing and no one buys it then how can it be a means of exchange if its value is zero. Bitcoin is more of an investment to many people because of its increasing value over the years.
3394  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto scam increasing on social media on: July 07, 2022, 01:05:48 PM
What has the government doing so far to regulate social media like they are regulating exchanges, despite that people that are using social media like Facebook, Instagram and many others do not have privacy, scammers and illicit actors still make use of the same social media to scam people.

The government can't do anything to these scammers because they don't have the authority to control the social media. All they can do is warn people about the said scammer or company to avoid investing their money on it. People in social media can create or steal any identity they want. They can't arrest someone just because people are accusing the person without solid proofs that he is really the one that scammed them.
3395  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Difference Between Bitcoin and Crypto currency on: July 07, 2022, 12:13:23 PM
Going through a lot of thread here,Am convinced that Bitcoin and cryptocurrency serves as a means of Exchange for trading.
Am still trying to understand the clear difference between the both and know how to place them in their separate parts..
I'll like to know more and be corrected where am wrong.

As simple as this:

  • Bitcoin -> USD
  • Cryptocurrency -> Fiat

A cryptocurrency is a medium of exchange and bitcoin is one of those. Bitcoin is the first crypto to be created and considered as the king but there are also other crypto like ETH, BNB, MATIC, etc. which have different utilities that is tied to bitcoin's price.

Same with Fiat or paper money, it is our traditional mean of exchange and USD is the main currency. Our local currencies' (PHP, Yuan, Yen, Euro, etc.) is dependent on it, without USD existing our local fiat won't have its value.
3396  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Ano ang plano niyo ngayong bear market? on: July 07, 2022, 09:22:47 AM
May bear market thread tayo pero on this thread gusto ko malaman ang mga ways niyo to survive this season.

3397  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is trading really worth it? on: July 07, 2022, 08:24:06 AM
Can I have a precise and constructive answer on whether trading is really worth spending time on? My brother wants to do this job for a living, and I'm just curious if it's a dignified, worth-spending occupation.

Trading can really be a profitable career but never consider quitting your job. Just make it as a side hustle of yours whenever possible. Trading is more like a business for me as it needs a huge capital when the market doesn't go your way. You need to have a deep pocket to still trade if the market continues dumping and stay at a lower price for some time.

Are there really people who just "buy low and sell high", making a living by just doing that? I can't comprehend how can a person seriously make a living by something that looks complete gambling, instead of providing goods, services, work etc.

I don't think there is someone that does trading profitably just by doing that. Market is very unstable and global factors also affects the movement of it.

I can't comprehend how can a person seriously make a living by something that looks complete gambling, instead of providing goods, services, work etc.

Trading is very different from gambling. You can calculate your risks in trading by using different strategies, indicators, and charts that will help you decide your plan. Unlike in gambling, you mostly depend on your luck to win.
3398  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tips for newbie to long-term investing on: July 07, 2022, 07:28:02 AM
The approach I've had over the past couple of months has just been dropping a portion of my salary each month into crypto. But now I'm considering stacking my fiat to buy in on the bottom of this bear cycle which I think is yet to come. Would this be a wise decision? Or should I just keep going with the approach I have now?

No one can predict the bottom so what you've been doing is the perfect approach for me. Price has been continuously dumping over the past months so basically you are dollar-cost-averaging(DC) with your monthly salary. If you think cryptos could go lower at this point then you can leave half the portion of your salary then stack it until the price you want to buy reach it. Continue doing it until the next bull run and you can be one of those successful people in crypto.
3399  Economy / Economics / Re: How Will Investing Help the Economy of a Country on: July 07, 2022, 06:42:36 AM
Investing is Widespread now in the Society such that the Inability of not Investing, is Paving a room for not Benefitting from the Outcome.
And Right now Investing in Crypto is a yardstick of measurement and has created an opportunity that's reliable and trusted..
But I really can't tell how thus Investing in The Economy will help one's Country.

Investing is not just about putting your money into crypto or stocks then sell it for a profit. Investing can be having a business, if you're a business owner then you can provide work to people. You will need to buy the raw materials needed for your business which helps the country's economy. Your employees' use their salary to buy necessities which also helps the economy and the cycle goes on. Buying properties and selling it after some years is also called investing. If your goal of using your money is to generate more money then I consider that as investing.
3400  Economy / Gambling / Re: The History Of Gambling. on: July 07, 2022, 05:13:28 AM
So what are your thoughts? lets discuss.

I always have this question in my mind.

Would people still gamble or casinos business will boom if money is not involved as the jackpot but instead the prizes is things that we use in our daily life like food in form of gift cards or vouchers to pay our utility bills. Imagine casinos will offer a $100k worth of gift card that can be use on a particular grocery store that they support, use to buy gas, etc. There could be other prizes too like a brand new car or house. Would people still gamble if we are living in a world like that because we all know that the main reason of gambling addiction is money.
