Last night I used a debit card to buy Bitcoin on Bitstamp, quick and easy purchase and of course I exchanged for DGB, UK and Slovenian residence can use the service to buy up to $300 a day using debit or even credit cards (not recommended).
Just thought I would share my experience, now its quick and easy to buy small amounts of crypto without paying excessive overages that Bittylicious / Local Bitcoin charge.
I was wondering, do they add a premium like bittylicious does or can you pay spot price with a debit/credit card? |

I invested money into DGB when the price was more than twice than it is now. I don't consider myself a trader, I'm more of a investor if you will, however I've no shame in admitting I'm a beginner. Many here were hyping the coin to no end knowing that the price was pumped. Many more are still arguing this is the way to go, to keep quiet when price is down and to basically hype when it's up. What's the point of that? You will get people like me who become infuriated when the coin loses almost all of its value in less than a month.
I did whine about the price, then I understood there's nothing we can really do so I stopped. But my point is that it's better to just discuss it even if it seems like FUD to most (that's just sad) than to leave it alone. DGB project did nothing wrong when the price started to decline and sadly it did nothing that great when it was pumping. For newbies like myself, it's better we get the truth so we can decide for ourselves than to invest in something that it's clearly not what it seems.
I have faith DGB will recover because it's a project that's been around for years already and eventually will stand on its own. I say we must let it learn how to walk by itself even if it tumbles.
One thing I've learnt in crypto is that news doesn't cause price growth and pumps and dumps are perpetrated by whales and manipulators for profit. For instance take XMRs most recent release or VNLs recent wallet update; neither of these had a particular dramatic effect on the price. I understand frustration associated with a coins loss in value but patience usually pays off, besides if you call yourself an investor and not a trader then you wont mind holding a coin for a few months. That being said I agree that we should continue discussing even in times of hardship and that's why I've tried to maintain a constant forum presence throughout. DigiByte wont disappoint you that's for sure . Anyways good luck with your trading/investing activities and I hope it all turns out for the better |

I can't really understand your points EPLDCC, I'm clearly not part of this "community" as I fail to see what's required of me. I have a purpose for my investments, my goal is to make money, my purpose is personal. The minute I didn't donate this money you can call me greedy if that's your point. I don't care about your definition of greed, it's your personal take on it, for many people investing hundreds or thousands of dollars in a cryptocurrency is nuts from every perspective.
DGB to me is the same to me as many others investments. I'm fond of it, I want the project to do good even if I sell my share but I don't consider I belong to something greater than life or that I can be a better person because of it, I just hold some, that's it. I just invested some money into it and I know the project have serious people behind it. Maybe I'm missing something, it's like I signed up for a sect and I'm not doing my part so I'm being cast out from something I didn't know it was a thing.
The main issue the last couple of months has been the price decrease even while there were plenty of announcements being made. It was discussed here, not because of the glorious members of this community (they mostly tried to keep it as silent as possible which to me is unethical) but because of us, the rest who are not part of it and asked questions while the rest of the thread seemed like a circle jerk reunion. Many got answers (that the market is heavily manipulated and we can do nothing). The truth even if it temporary drives the price further down (or up) is better than the hype and the silence which is what you preach. What's the point of hyping when it's rising if you know it's artificial? Same for being quiet when the price is down with no reason except manipulation. If you are here for the long run, then you call it what it is, any other way is pure dishonesty.
Hey man, I think there might be a slight misunderstanding but as you've pointed out your an investor and investors want to see profits; that is absolutely fair and there is nothing wrong with that at all! You haven't signed up for a sect or anything of the sort lol, that's a bit of an exaggeration xD. Now what is fair to say (and as far as I'm concerned this does not apply to you) there are some elements on this forum who, for the past month or so, have done nothing constructive and have just complained and whined about their trading losses. This to me is simply pathetic, if you can't stomach trading losses, don't trade. At the same time it is slightly disheartening for developers and people who actually invest TIME into this project to see all this negativity surrounding the price, taking the light away from constructive announcements and discussion on the future of digibyte. I don't really understand your third paragraph and will not make a comment on it. Again I just want to reiterate that I haven't really read any negative remarks coming from you (I might be wrong, I don't read everything that's posted on this thread). P.S. Pro Trading Tip: If you can't stomach temporary losses, please refrain from trading xD. Also don't FUD coins you hold, seems logical no? xD |

You are welcome here, as far as I’m concerned and so are your comments if that’s your opinion. It’s not as if you do not have a vested personal interest and I also hope you might find other ways to get involved. I’d love to spend some DigiByte in Wales. "DigiByte in Wales", that's just given me an idea, I will create a web store for traditional Welsh items and sell them only using DGB, maybe this mini project could be mirrored in other countries to sell their unique traditional nicknacks. and all linked together somehow. What's the best PHP/MySQL store script that's compatible with DGB ? What exactly do you mean PHP/MySQL store script compatible with DGB, thats not really a question. If your referring to what would be the way to go to get a functioning webstore with DGB integrated I would say look at JavaScript and the MEAN stack, by far the easiest way to incorporate any cryptocurrency into a web app (imo). I'm sure there are some bitcoin-rpc PHP scripts but you would need to adapt them to work for digibyte. |

Your welcome I have no info on which exchanges Iota will launch on. I'm pretty sure Poloniex will add Iota once it's launched. The one newbie trader on Poloniex ended up losing 10 btc on digibyte when they sold at around 100, it means they would of lost far more if they waited. Like 24hralttrade said we have to wait for more people like this to push the price up so we can sell at over 100 again. It might only occur once a year but you need to be in early and wait for the pump and dump.
I would take that bit of information with a huge pinch of salt, loosing 10BTC selling at 100Sats would suggest that they bought 10Mil DGB at 200Sats and sold the lot when it hit 100, can you spot any 10,000,000 DGB dumps when we were at 100 ? You also need to take into account that BTC was $260 when DGB was at 200 and then $374 last time DGB fell through the 100, so that's an increase of $114 per BTC. So to calculate 10Mil DGB Bought at 200 Sats would be $5200 (Max possible price for DGB so far) and then sold at 100 Sats a few weeks later for $3740 so a loss of $1460, not a total loss imo. My Math could be completely out so please don't take this as fact in any way. That person was partly responsible for the spike to over 400 on poloniex, I don't know the details of the amount of btc used to purchase. My guess is anything between 20-30 btc purchasing came from that one individual to have lost 10 btc. Question is, how often will a buyer like that come around? I am sorry but buying something which was 24-48h worth about a tenth of the value your paying is just plain stupid. I don't know what your point is but if your a bad trader then you lose money that's just the name of the game; its the same with stocks, forex, commodities or whatever else people like to trade. What digibyte needs is strong organic grassroots sustainable price growth and not some shady P&D scheme perpetrated by a few individuals for personal profit. If your searching for a coin where you can make x10 profits in a few days please look elsewhere. |

I read where FACTOM will also 'anchor' itself to other blockchains for security and redundancy
Have any other blockchains been considered; my first thoughts would be Ethereum and/or NXT for starters
I realise that the op_return size for the bitcoin blockchain has increased to 80 bytes as of early last year but I would just like to point out that the DigiByte blockchain also provides an op_return size of 80 bytes which could be of interest to the Factom developers (digibyte is also secured by 5 POW algorithms with various other security features that, again, could be of interest to the FCT developers). |

Soon Should we buy more DGB? is this announcement going to excite the traders ? You should always buy more DGB I dont know if it will excite traders, I like it and i think everybody will like it Lol I'm sorry but this has nothing to do with exciting traders. It is about bringing accessibility to DigiByte newcomers (which in turn could lead to price growth, but thats not the primary objective). As long as digibyte keeps on building new use-cases (things or services where digibytes can be used) then the price will naturally increase as a consequence. Of course people are naturally concerned with the price of their crypto holdings but my advice to people is the following; if you want a crypto currency to increase in value, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT, spread the word, code up some services or help in any other way you can. The above is an example of the community doing so P.S. I'm not directing this to anyone in particular, I'm just stating it as a general comment. |

Ive thought about it a bit more and its going to be much easier (and quicker) if i just write a bash script which u can run and will install/configure/start up a digibyte node automatically on whatever rpi image you have (takes away the need for multiple versions etc.). I will couple that with a tutorial on how to quickly set it all up etc. and probably post that on the DigiByte Group (pending EPLDCC's approval) |

Guys how useful would a raspberry pi image that's loaded with all the necessary components of a DigiNode be? If there is enough demand I'll get on it.
I don't really know are you asking the devs for an opinion or us peasants, but I would most definitely have use for it. Every DigiByter should want one of these, as it’s a great way to help support the network, dedicating an affordable computer to it! Hhahah I was asking both Kahvi I will create a downloadable raspberry pi image that contains all the tools needed to run a node with a tutorial etc. to set it up in the next few days (hopefully, if i get some time ). Which Pi will this software run on ? I have a few old ones but I want an excuse to buy the new Quad core version :-) I will probably make it such that its compatible with most versions or maybe i'll make two one specifically for the old pi and one for the new one. You shouldn't really need an excuse to get the new one though, the rpi 2 is AWESOME |
