If you are an existing pre-order I recommend you hold on to it. The queue for the current tech is about to get a whole lot shorter, meaning you will get an actual product earlier.
I recommend:
Quite possibly time for another...

Public Service Announcement:

If you have ordered from Butterfly Labs (BFL) and have not yet received your product, you are entitled to a refund whenever you request one (per FTC rules).

First ask Butterfly Labs (BFL) for one, they will probably say no but you might get lucky.
If you ordered via PayPal you can file a complaint with them even if you are outside the 45 day window. One customer has already gotten a refund from PayPal that was outside the 45 days.

If you ordered via BTC or Bank wire, you can fill out a complaint with the FTC and they will advocate for you with Butterfly Labs (BFL) to get your refund. You can also contact the office of the Kansas Attorney General and inform them that you have had your money taken with no product delivered for months, just more promises.

There are also several threads on how to get a refund from Butterfly Labs (BFL), here are two:

ATTENTION "JAMES GIBSON"

I have a few questions for you.
347  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL announces 28nm 600GH/S blade for $4680 on: August 17, 2013, 09:18:22 PM
ROFL so when everyone transfers their order they will magically catch up on all pre-order shipping by september.  Also notice no more credit card option.

BFL never had a chance to get a merchant account with a CC company. PayPal has learned their lesson.

To play devils advocate for just a moment:
If BFL just does a reference board + firmware and only resells the chips they pay their contractors to design and the fab to produce, then this product might not be the epic trainwrecks of their previous products.
no psu trouble either

Butterfly Labs is the pioneer and has remained the leader of the bitcoin mining hardware industry since 2011.  We are the only 28nm hardware manufacturer with a proven ASIC design.  We have 45 employees, a mature production capacity and supply chain

Well, at least JODY is mature! Cheesy

Q:What makes you so sure you'll deliver when you say you will?

A: BFL began in 2011 with the announcement of it's first FPGA bitcoin miner, the now famous 'Single'.  The delivered speed was in range of expectations12 months?, but the power consumption was greater than design simulation indicated was so high even Josh wouldn't buy one.  With that experience under our belt, we set out to raise the bar again with our second generation FPGA miner (The original Mini Rig). ?   ...

So much lie on this webpage. I don't know where to start.

This is exactly what I was just thinking. Did you get to Q&A section yet? It's such a huge pile of shit to poke through
352  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL announces 28nm 600GH/S blade for $4680 on: August 17, 2013, 08:24:56 PM
Going to hold off for the 400pm announcement,  will be just as believable.   "120 Thash/s only $13000" delivery guaranteed for early 2019.  Be the first to preorder now!
so thats why they wanted their video comments cleaned up. bahahaha they are unbelievable

In all honesty, from their standpoint, it's not a bad way to clear some of the disgruntled backlog and avert the rest of the discontent from delayed products a few months.

I'm curious, and apologies for sounding confrontational, but are you high right now ?

This assumes that the world can trust Butterfly Labs to keep their word that they will ship on their stated schedule.

History has clearly shown, repeatedly, that accurate scheduling is not one of Butterfly Labs' favorable qualities.

Even according to BFL's own website, they "don't recommend it". ROFL

I hope a load of suckers cancel their Jalapeno orders.  Brings the huge queue in front of my order a lot shorter. Smiley

By charging an xfer fee to people in queue 10 months just to start them all over again??!  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

How long until the first 20nm pre-announcement?  14nm in 2014 has a nice ring.
(in case anyone doesnt get that, I believe 28nm is the smallest die shrink currently available for ASICS. like any ASIC--they aren't just for bitcoin)
356  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL announces 28nm 600GH/S blade for $4680 on: August 17, 2013, 07:42:14 PM
I guess BFL was told to stop using PayPal to snare new investors!

Or maybe PayPal does not like to be called "fucking PayPal".

I'm sure BFL has quite a large negative balance with them. Any new orders would not be new money, just paying back refunds.

I could be wrong tho.
357  Economy / Services / Re: I'll send you 0.01BTC if you vote for me in a contest! on: August 17, 2013, 07:40:28 PM
Do I have to make an account to vote or will it be something simple?

Quick account, made it in 30 seconds.

Just got the reward, so this is legit.

OR they did't like that PayPal gives refunds...

Here's another sign, from the bfl forum: "They are only allowing payment with BTC or Wire x-fer. That is a non starter for me."

and of course, all sorts of sock puppets praising about how "We'd have the fastest hashrate on the MARKET" and "This looks liek the gratest d3al evar!!"
