3 phase is different, but if you simply use 2 pole breakers and leave the 3rd leg alone it's no biggie.

342  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: January 31, 2018, 03:48:29 AM
Interesting, is anyone actually using T9s? They were not available for quite some time. Now shipping in 10 days? Can anyone decipher Bitmains strategy here? They release weaker miners like T9 and A3, shipping in 10 days, while the S9 are not available at all.

I am assuming that they have the logistics nailed down and have no problem going from manufacturing to shipping thousands of units in a matter of days. Over the last 2-3 months I read more and more that they actually are delivering units 2-4 weeks ahead of schedule. Let's hope that is still the case as I am waiting on March S9 batches.

I think S9 march batches will be the last S9, i think there will be new miner using new chip after.
Why do you think so? I haven't seen any solid info showing Bitmain's making a new miner or at least a new Bitcoin ASIC chip, and they are still in a good position to make money by just lowering the price of their S9 if more competition comes around.
Plus even if they do get it ready soon, Bitmain will stock their farm first. Then sell all their old used gear to us at fire sale prices.

I bristle every time someone suggests Bitmain uses the miners then sells them as new. Every one of mine have been new, if they were run for 30-60 days as urban legend says there'd be some sort of evidence. My urban-legend/theory is that people are buying from re-sellers and that is where this came from.
343  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Ebit e9 miner with 6.8Th/s from Ebang company a new rival for existing producers on: January 31, 2018, 03:34:49 AM
I could use some help with a sticky situation.

My E9+ got hacked as I was setting it up and the hacker locked me out. Web gui login doesnt work, ssh neither. I managed to telnet into it with admin/admin and saw the hacker's username and pool settings he entered to use the machine to mine in his favor. I managed to do a factory reset from telnet, and the only change I see is the destination pool is now back to the ebit manufacturer's default pool, but passwords etc still not working and have not been reset. I tried holding in the pin hole reset button for 40+ seconds and nothing happens at all.
It seems I can see the status of almost everything throught the telnet commands but I cant set or save anything.
I tried contacting Ebit support and as I expected, no reply.
At this point I am considering buying a used controller on ebay and get it over with.

Any help? I would be happy to give a bitcoin contribution for help to regain access to the controller.

Thanks!

So you do have local access to the miner correct? 1st thing you need to do is make sure it is no longer exposed to the Internet. I am assuming you left it open to the Internet as it has been widely reported by hackers that some 2700+ miners have been left wide open. My guess is that they also flashed the firmware to something of their own doing if a factory reset does not help.

Yes of course, its actually turned off at the moment, no point wasting power to mine for someone else. It does appear that they did flash it with a homebrew fw. Nothing I've tried has worked. How can I reflash it? I have a copy of the manufacturer's latest fw, but without login permissions I have no idea how to get it on the controller.

OK, good deal, yeah it might be new controller time. Let me poke around with the firmware and see if I can figure something out. Not to add insult to injury, but have you put proper security in place? I'd hate to see you spend time and money and then have them do it again.

Yes the other machines are secure. This hacker got a lucky shot right when I was setting it up. Thanks for the help. Also, any idea where I can get a cheap controller from? I dont see any on ebay at the moment.

I do not, sorry Sad Maybe look in the marketplace here?

345  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: 220V vs 110V for new panel install on: January 31, 2018, 03:10:15 AM
I am having an electrician install a 200AMP panel on a 3 phase transformer and was wondering if I should go 220V vs 110V? I want to maximize the panel as much as possible, don't care about the electricity cost as much. Going to be running S9's and L3+'s.

You do not have to choose one or the other. You can run single phase 220 or 110. Talk to your electrician he can help you out. Although for Bitcoin mining I would recommend 220v 30A circuits.

Hello, what PDUs do you recommend and do you use 14awg c13-c14 cables or what? I have about 100 amps available on 240v single phase.

I have some S9, L3+, D3 and A4+ i am plugging in.

Check this thread out, I posted a few things to look for.

May be i am wrong, dont know. It is clearly bitmain is changing strategy now make faster shipping 10 days after full payment and dumping stock.

If you ask me the whole "ships within 10 days" is copying what some of the other sellers are doing. Justifying the higher price by getting it to you faster.

Also, LOL

353  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Launches the New Antminer T9 Bitcoin Miner on: January 30, 2018, 05:01:06 PM
No I am buying the cheap breakout boards on eBay for $10 and bulk pcie cables through my business. I am all in $51 per psu.

Gotcha, but you need 2 right? So you're at $102.00. Good to know!
354  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Launches the New Antminer T9 Bitcoin Miner on: January 30, 2018, 04:57:42 PM
Do you always get dinged for customs? I don’t have it happen to me often when I use DHL. When I use UPS I do. Also I don’t buy bitmains psus as I source hp 1200w server power supplies for $30/each.

I've been using UPS because I have an account with them. Interesting on DHL, I'll have to try that next time, but yes each time with UPS it's been around $50 for the miner nothing on the PSUs.

Are you making your own breakout boards? Even at $30 each that's still 60$ plus breakout boards. $105 just seemed to be a better deal. But I am open to creative solutions Smiley

356  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Launches the New Antminer T9 Bitcoin Miner on: January 30, 2018, 04:46:16 PM
If these were in the $16-1800.00 range I'd purchase, but by the time you add a 105.00 PSU, 200 or so shipping and 50.00 customs to that 2100 no thanks.

It's not a horrible deal, but I feel that they will be adjusting their prices soon. No real evidence, just my feeling.
357  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S9 on 110v with APW3++ on: January 30, 2018, 04:35:11 PM

yall are wrong. the power supply does both input voltages plug it into 110 it runs fine. this is from bitmains page.

I have been told that it will most of the times still hash at 13.5 ths even on 110v.

No, these guys are right it is you who's wrong. While yes, the PSU will run off 110v (the PSU is pretty much a multi purpose PSU) it will not provide adequate power to run an S9. If the S9 does power up it will be at a lower hashrate. Just read the forum and you'll find plenty of people who's S9s wont even start with the APW3++ on 110v.

I bolded the part about you having been told, so you haven't actually done what you are recommending?

358  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Some PDU Part#'s on: January 30, 2018, 03:55:40 AM
I got some by server technology, they're great.  I can log in and toggle plugs, monitor power.  Paid about $60 from some surplus place, very happy with the purchase

Wow, very nice to get switched outlets for $60.00! Have any part numbers?
359  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Launches the New Antminer T9 Bitcoin Miner on: January 30, 2018, 03:35:20 AM
It's been several minutes and not sold out. I hope this recent BTC dip at the same time the T9+ went up for sale and the lack of interest push Bitmain to lower their prices.

LOL I know, but I have to stay optimistic Smiley
360  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain Launches the New Antminer T9 Bitcoin Miner on: January 30, 2018, 03:25:07 AM

T9+, so 10.5 TH/s for 2100 plus shipping plus PSU. No thanks...
