341  Economy / Computer hardware / 4 ASICMINER blades (second auction) up for sale on: May 13, 2013, 10:27:09 PM
Hello all.

Offering for sale my 4 asicminer block erupter blades I won in the second auction round.

I've decided I'd rather have liquid BTC on hand than be in for the long haul and have to watch these on a daily basis to make sure everything's working ok (which they have so far, fwiw, they've not dropped a beat and have been mining for nearly a week at high clock just fine).

I'm not looking for a quick flip profit on these, so I'll accept a realistic 48 BTC ono per unit.

I really want to sell all 4 together so to encourage that I'll throw in the power supply that's currently running all 4 and the fans that are cooling them if all 4 go together. Will also consider offers for all 4.

These are in the UK near Birmingham, so I'm looking for a UK buyer.

Preference will be given to buyers near Birmingham (not necessarily the first poster), and if you're within 3 hours drive I'll personally deliver them and sit in your lounge drinking a cup of tea (can bring own teabag) while you test them and send me some BTC. I'd be willing to do this tomorrow if you like. So you could have these in hand in less than 24 hours.

If there's nobody nearby I can deliver to then I will accept escrow, preferably via John K but I haven't checked if he can do it for me as of yet.

er hope that's all, if there's any important details I missed let me know, I'm a reasonable person :p

They also don't bother to pay any fees - I usually do my payouts once a day from all my pools and guess which one is the slowest to confirm?

At least once before now a withdrawal from EMC has had 9 confirmations while 50BTC is waiting for its first one, yet been withdrawn at the same time. No other pool will confirm 50BTC transactions apart from 50BTC itself because they don't put a fee on it.

They get away with it though because they're reasonably high hashrate so it's usually not more than an hour or two before they themselves find a block and put their own transaction in it.

Still leaves a sour taste in the mouth to be honest.

Anyone else want to share their ROI so far? Smiley

I'm at 7%. Getting rather worried about these difficulty increases though and the thought of selling on has actually crossed my mind. I watch the things like a hawk to make sure the pool they're on hasn't died, or my Inet hasn't dropped out, or the stratum proxy isn't misbehaving, and realising I need to do this for at least another 100 days Cheesy

Been down for half an hour now saying "back in a few seconds". Care to put something more accurate?

Also confirm shares are being counted would be good.
345  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: 32Bit timestamps in the block headers? on: May 13, 2013, 01:40:16 PM
It's unsigned, so that buys a few extra years. See 'Solutions' in your wiki link, its mentioned there.
346  Economy / Auctions / Re: ASICMINER Fixed-Price Auction: 50 Block Erupter Blades -everyone won, SEE OP- on: May 13, 2013, 01:35:14 PM
Check the first two auction threads (after they closed) there's a wealth of information, you do have to dig a little bit through the noise for it though.

Confirmed payout received, thanks. This seems to be quite a common problem looking back at recent posts Sad
348  Economy / Auctions / Re: ASICMINER Auction: 50 Block Erupter Blades CHECK OP FOR PAYMENT on: May 12, 2013, 10:35:02 PM
You both have nicer stats than me, not sure what I'm doing wrong. Do you use -rt to the stratum proxy? I'm trying one without that flag as a test..

349  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [Try Now >>>] BTCOxygen.com - PPS | 2% fee | Stratum | Auto-Payout on: May 12, 2013, 09:25:33 PM
Been over my auto payout threshold for a good few hours now, nothing. And as mentioned, manual payout button does nothing.

Hard to mine at a pool that won't pay me, sorry.
350  Economy / Auctions / Re: ASICMINER Auction: 50 Block Erupter Blades CHECK OP FOR PAYMENT on: May 12, 2013, 09:13:52 PM
Smiley Just to confirm, you see a solid 178.00 shares/minute always? I have never seen that ever, but I think mostly its because of stales pulling down the accepted efficiency.

Could you paste one of your outputs from the webpage?
351  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Next BTC difficulty 176.68% of present..in 7 days...?! on: May 12, 2013, 08:42:04 PM
What's your calculator saying now out of interest? Smiley
352  Economy / Auctions / Re: ASICMINER Auction: 50 Block Erupter Blades CHECK OP FOR PAYMENT on: May 12, 2013, 08:39:29 PM
Well, I just left it to settle for a bit..

1: 12928 MH/s  271456/ 275231 176.65/min 98.62% 0s up 025h 36:41
2: 12966 MH/s  272246/ 275240 177.18/min 98.91% 0s up 025h 36:33
3: 12899 MH/s  249589/ 253824 176.26/min 98.33% 5s up 023h 36:01
4: 12945 MH/s   11683/  11808 176.92/min 98.94% 0s up 001h 06:02

I think there's quite a lot of factors at play to be honest:
a) latency of my Internet connection as it actually submits shares
b) blocks found lead to a drop, because these units don't do LP
c) pool load
d) stratum proxy (and PC its running on) load
e) local network layout as you say, but can't do much about that, I need to use a switch or I haven't got enough ports :p

They're all around 177 shares/min which isn't catastrophic at the end of the day.
353  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Next BTC difficulty 176.68% of present..in 7 days...?! on: May 12, 2013, 08:16:48 PM
It is a massive overestimate right now Smiley
354  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Next BTC difficulty 176.68% of present..in 7 days...?! on: May 12, 2013, 08:13:45 PM
Difficulty has just changed literally an hour ago or something.

Most of the difficulty prediction scripts out there use the number of blocks found since the most recent difficulty change, and the amount of time they were found in, then extrapolate that to work out how long it'll take to find all 2016 blocks, and comparing that to the 14 days it "should" take.

Since only 8 blocks have been found there is nowhere near enough data to extrapolate upon.

A better idea would be to use the time it took to find the last rolling 2016 (or a bit less) blocks and work with that, maybe some calculators do that already but not the one I use on IRC Smiley
355  Economy / Auctions / Re: ASICMINER Auction: 50 Block Erupter Blades CHECK OP FOR PAYMENT on: May 12, 2013, 08:09:22 PM
Replied in PM. It's just a bit of very ugly Ruby, but if anyone else is interested,

http://telon.net/asic_status.rb.txt

I have local DNS entries that make my asics reachable at asic1/2/3/4, if you don't you may need to replace with an IP where necessary. Sorry it's so ugly and basic, it was only a 5 minute hack to get information into a Terminal I can watch Smiley
356  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Next BTC difficulty 176.68% of present..in 7 days...?! on: May 12, 2013, 08:04:58 PM
Wait a bit longer after a difficulty re-target before panicking over the next wildly inaccurate guesses Smiley
357  Economy / Auctions / Re: ASICMINER Auction: 50 Block Erupter Blades CHECK OP FOR PAYMENT on: May 12, 2013, 07:53:32 PM
You got me wondering, so I tried moving the proxy of 4:

4: 12553 MH/s    3794/   3936 171.80/min 96.39% 3s up 000h 22:05

seems even worse after 22 minutes. It was on a Linux HP Microserver previously, thats on a Windows box with a bit more power - maybe Windows just sucks at this sort of thing.
358  Economy / Auctions / Re: ASICMINER Auction: 50 Block Erupter Blades CHECK OP FOR PAYMENT on: May 12, 2013, 05:41:38 PM
this is the output of a little script I wrote to get all the interesting data into one place..

1: 12949 MH/s  240824/ 243858 176.95/min 98.75% 4s up 022h 40:58
2: 12986 MH/s  241489/ 243866 177.45/min 99.02% 4s up 022h 40:53
3: 12886 MH/s  218411/ 222339 176.08/min 98.23% 4s up 020h 40:24
4: 12790 MH/s   14848/  15200 174.79/min 97.69% 4s up 001h 24:56

That's fairly atypical for me, maybe a little lower than normal, I've seen anything up to 178 shares/minute.

Your Execute Payment button doesn't appear to do anything?

Any chance the 24 hour earnings figure in top right could include amounts earnt from PPS please?
