Thanks Fuzzles. Looks like a UPS is the answer.

Hey folks, my surge protector crapped out on me so no mining tonight for me (I can sleep in quiet for once, Haaa). I don't want to plug my miners directly into my wall. Can you recommend a good surge protector for me? I look through some threads and I found some people recommending a full UPS that's more than a couple hundred dollars!
Does anyone know a decent surge protector that's relatively inexpensive? What are you using for your miners?
Thanks, J

This is interesting. I wonder what would happen when a hedge fund steps in.
Judging by recent real world history: - Hedge fund buys in - Market goes up, the proletariat is excited and also profits - Hedge fund manipulates the market for own gain and greed - Market crashes, everyone takes a loss - Hedge fund cries to government and gets a bail out with the proletariat's money - ... - Hedge fund buys in... Sounds like the government is left holding the bag... Poor government... ops... I mean, poor me.

Good topic. Trust your gut is important. Don't stomach more than you can take.
The golden rule still applies.
"If the stock is making you losing sleep at night, sell it!"

Yes, can anyone also address what prevents the developers of Bitcoin increase the upper limit to let's say, 50 million?
Bad publicity to say the least, and they want it to succeed rather than stealing from people, and I'm sure technical reasons as well (not everyone will upgrade their client). What prevents a taxi driver from crashing you into a wall on purpose? It's called trust. So true. Faith has everything to do with it. Just like the Fiat. I hope this will keep the developers honest or else, we will see a massive exodus into other BTC forks. Thanks Imperi.

I think its a big mistake to compare Bitcoin with stablished markets. Bitcoin is young and small, its going to be very volatile, both up and down and its going to beahve like a young market not like a big old market. Nobody should be surprised at the events of the last days and weeks.
+1 See Bitcoins as penny stocks on steroid at this moment. You are in for the long haul, brother. It's a lifestyle, a commitment and a journey.

If it comes up so quickly, it would have to come down/correct. That's the law of Gravity, my friend.
No, gravity is a physical theory. Physical theories have nothing to do with economical theory. Take Berkshire's stock for example. It has been steadily climbing from ~$200 to $150,000 over the past 20 years while other companies have gone up and down. My man, these ticker prices are driven by human emotions. If you have violent uptrend, you will get violent correction. There's no two ways about it. As for Berkshire's example, it does look like it's a huge gain, but if you look at it, it's over 20 years, long term. BTC's had a good run for the past couple days/weeks! That's just unsustainable. I'm glad it came down again, taking a breath around this support level.
