im mining on one R9 290x at stock settings.

also will i see my coins in the alethzero wallet thing?

Also curious if this is correct as I see the same thing just starting.

Also what is the command to type to check wallet balance to see if I actually mined a block?

Thanks.

Yeah that's mining.  But if you're solo mining with one R9 290 you're not likely to get any coins from mining.

Thanks for the reply.

So I have ethminer up and running properly.

I have geth running also.

What command do I type to verify if I have a balance of coins or not?

Thanks again.

Me again.

After all this I come to realize I did not write my password down.

Am I SOL on this one now?

That sucks.

Is it a new wallet or did you import it from an old one?

Tried to import from old.

tried to open the old one also.

I have been Axiom mining at NiceHash with the new miner all day and just started getting these errors, is anybody else getting them? How do you resolve this? I have restarted my router and PC.

I am. No idea how to resolve...

I had it also. Just switched Service location. Works fine now.

actually its more the miners who are exploiting the unemployed dev...

and always want more for free, and cry like babies if something is kept private

actually NO! If you come into an opensource project that is to benefit all, than taking that code to develop your project and closing the source is just like stealing.  U can rationalize anything to fit your viewpoint and make genocide sound fair. At the end of the day the profiteers and thieves will say we worked hard on it. Well so did the dev team  and you are stealing from them and ruining the goal of their project.. while i respect the talent and hardwork it takes to create this software, i think its regrettably dishonest  how you people introduce it into an open project .

isnt this the opensource revolution?

Some of us are here for the goal and not the profits

For someone with a Hero status you sound like you have not been around long.

There is no such thing as gou and asic resistance. If there was serious money to be made on this coin/algo you can bet your bottom dollar asic companies would be looking this way.

Name one coin that is cpu only that is doing anything right now.

It was definitely a troyan to me, I found it and cleaned it , but it was too late. It have been archived almost every single wallet.dat in my appdata folder. I moved the unharmed coins to brand new wallet.dat encrypted files...

EDIT: Yes I had rpc ports exposed to the network for solo mining , of course ...

For myself, just curious, and others who might want to know. Did you get the name of the trojan?

EDIT: It might others who were infected also.

Are you still stuck at 342,409?

Thank You,

Yes.

It sync'd last night and when I came home from work is when I seen it.

It's a good idea for the people with GPU miners to share or leak them. Block rewards are small, and the FUD is hurting the price and any profits you make with a GPU miner.

We are talking about humans here. Humans are by nature greedy, selfish and only interested in advancing their own interest at the expense of others. Most people do not care about anyone else but themselves and will do anything and everything to keep their advantage at all cost. Here and there there is someone that is actually willing to give, share or help others, but they are very very rare. This selfish attribute of humans is what is making crypto a dark and ugly place as they don't mind killing a coin as long as they can make a few buck before they move on. It is what is driving the behavior in crypto 99%.

So you are basically saying a dev  should just put up their miner that they took the time to develop that could have been hours, days or weeks for free. Would you work for free?

Ask a dev how much donations they get from miners that use the ones they openly update. As far as I know there 2 or 3 that do. So the same can be said about miners. They use a dev's miner without contributing anything back.

If I remember correctly sp_ has increased his  x11 miner over a year now and said he has less than 2 or 3 BTC in donations. Think about that for a minute.

It's not a perfect world but there are two sides to every coin.

People should be rewarded for their skillz and it is so that those with skillz will prosper over the rest. Sometimes though whats the point if those skillz give you an advantage that becomes no advantage at all. Lets use an analogy - one sports team buys all the best players and keep winning game after game, year after year. Soon there will be no more spectators and no more tickets sold because the people lost interest causing the good sports team to have to let the players go because they don't have enough money to pay them anymore. Let GPU miners get their advantage early on for their skillz but at some point open it up, otherwise what is the point if people leave and those 3 will be the only ones mining with no-one to buy from them.

The Yankees would like to talk to you.          Just messing with you.

I understand what you are saying but just my opinion, if more miners would donate donate then I think the dev's would do more for us but it is a two way street.

I'll stop posting for a while now so the thread can get back.

Anyone upgraded to windows10 ?
can you share your impression especially on the 900 serie.

So far I tested (and went back to win8.1) on 780ti, 750ti and 980
perf of the 750ti and 780ti didn't change much, but for the 980 got huge loss of performance (like 20% on neoscrypt and similar on cryptonight)

djm

Was beta testing but here is what I am curious about since the new driver for DX12 is out.

In the past if you SLI'd say 2 960 4Gb then Windows would only read them as a total of 4GB but now Windows 10 will recognize them as 8GB total memory. It has to be implemented on the developer end though to take effect. Would this help in the few memory heavy algos if ccminer could implement it?
not sure it would help, unless you mine only with one card and even then, the performance in accessing the memory from the other card would be terrible...
did you try mining with your cards ? did you noticed any difference ?

No difference at all. Slight (very) gain with some algos and slight loss on others. I don't have a 980 though it was with 960 and 750ti's.

At the time Windows 10 was having wifi issues so I would only test it on Sundays and the driver for DX12 was not out yet so they all where still buggy drivers.

Will run this Sunday since it is my first day off to be home with the release.

Price reduction. Smiley  1 BTC -  15-20% speed boosted CPU miner.  Get it while it's still available.  Exclusive sale - you can do whatever you want with the code, including selling it to other people, and I won't sell it again.  PM me if interested.

I'm selling 30-40% speed boosted CPU miner, 2 BTC. Smiley
120% speed boosted, 15 BTC.

For some funny reason reason I don't believe you....but dga on the other hand is kinda known.  Wink

I have been around making custom and modified miners for ages, but you believe what you want.

If you have my bad. No disrespect if you truly are are dev.

Your 15 BTC kinda threw me off.

EDIT: I appreciate all the work devs do. I don't know dga but took it as a dig on him.

$4500 is nothing to pay for a competitive edge in most spaces let alone this one! (CRYPTO PoW)

I believe that you just don't get that the price is not for you. Its for groups and individuals who benefit from it, hence most optimised miners not even hitting the back alleys here so to speak. Because there is still a ton of kids in this space who just don't get that these kind of coins are just money makers, there is no future to them! They put their money in thinking its a long term investment. And that money goes to the serious miners who then have the cash to pay for optimised versions ertc etc etc.

Least you can come here and take some responsibility and i respect that.

Another problem is because so many kids using their gpu and cpu they think this is a game and treat is as one joking around, thats why most of these coins dont and wont make it.

This is our future and our families future (CRYPTO) and i cant wait untill there is a general feeling as though everyone starts treating it as though its serious and not some joke! Then and only then will most people here actually start making money instead of throwing it at us and then crying. such is like though right!? Also, then and only then will the optimisers be better known.

Anyhow sorry to upset the announcements thread and post something that isn't an announcement, i just thought some people could benefit from the hint, however abrasive it is.

Ok, but I don't know you either.

Maybe I will maybe I won't.

Btut as I said earlier when I see someone that seems to take a pot shot any dev sometimes I speak up sometimes I don't.

Been enough junk in this thread.
