Even today there are a lot of companies that operate anonymously (crypto-to-Crypto) effectively allowing you to trade in futures and derivatives anywhere in the world.
But binance has become so big that it has to comply with the laws of the countries in which it operates and this sometimes represents a limit to the offer of services.

It is not easy to promote the global adoption of bitcoin, because this represents a system on which the financial world (banks and funds) cannot profit so they fight again crypto.
Essentially I think it's only a matter of time, and with the future generations of humanity bitcoin will be a global currency parallel to the traditional financial system.

Could this be an attempt by some government, or set of governments, to limit bitcoin in some way? It could be the prelude to a "war" aimed at limiting privacy and anonymous transactions that world governments want to carry on.

Governments do this because they fear that there will be a flight of capital from the financial system in favor of the world of cryptocurrencies. If this happened, the financial system would go into crisis.

In realtà la chiusura di Binance US non è una novità: sul mercato americano difficilmente possono operare operatori stranieri , perchè in nome di una presunta tutela ( ma de che? ) e tirano fuori sempre cavilli su cavilli per impedire una concorrenza alle istituzioni finanziare domestiche .
Daltronde noi ci lamentiamo di delle nostre leggi, ma non vediamo fallire banche da oltre 100 anni. Peccato che a vanificare tutto il bello ci siano due istituzioni divenute inutili come Bankit  e Consob che ormai pensano solo ai controlli AML dimostrando che della tutela dei risparmiatori non glie ne fraga un cazzo.
