341  Economy / Economics / Re: When luxury becomes a necessity. on: March 13, 2024, 11:44:24 PM
"Luxury" items instead are things which are very expensive and normally bought for "status" reasons. They can marginally add to your comfort but are normally not productivity-related. One could argue that if you work in a five-star-hotel while travelling can increase your productivity because of all its amenities, but usually a "high quality" service like a three/four star hotel will bring you the same benefits.
You’ve defined luxury just the way it makes sense. Luxury doesn’t mean it’s hot to serve a purpose, the most one could get out of a luxury item is the status. If you’re putting it to so much use because of its efficiency, that ain’t luxury, that’s just you having to purchase a certain item because of its best fit.
Just for about everything, there are alternatives and with the proper research, you could always find a befitting alternative to aid you in achieving that exact purpose but, for one seeking luxury, you just don’t care. You just go for what enhances your status and puts you in the spotlight always. It’s never about the use although luxurious items can serve a number of purposes like, having to transfer value in ways that might be reconverted later in the future but, wen it’s purpose is more about status, then we can call it luxury.
342  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: The leaders of tomorrow. on: March 13, 2024, 10:47:18 PM
Truths be told OP, you can’t come into the future with the idea that, maturity is defined by some age. We might classify them as kids but, we’ve got real smart kids now than we had years a decade ago. Why is that?

That’s actually because, kids of this time built on what have been improved to become a better version of us when we were their age. I’ve seen some really smart kids and as well, I’ve seen the dumb ones too.
Hence having to define maturity by some age isn’t the best means to do it but, I can’t blame them those who put this form of categorization out to group things and how it affects certain parts of our lives.

If the future belongs to the children, let’s not bore them or mess it up with our outdated ideas on how to approach or run the society. Maybe that’s why Bitcoin is still a hard to accept innovation for most part of our world and people of our world till today.

I think that Palmer is the best transfer made in the Premier League this year. Is there anyone who won't use free hit this week? I need to add Watkins and Salah to my team in some way and I don't know how I can do this. Even though KDB has damaged me quite much so far I think that he still has a potential to make me win a lot of points.

This season, he has already equalled Bellingham's goal contribution stats in a weaker squad and a more tough league for his age. Real Madrid's PR department is just exceptional. Get 15 goals and 10 assists, and you're already a candidate for the Ballon d'Or.

Palmer has the potential of becoming the next Salah, he just need a good coach and few world class players around him.
Come on now man,
Can’t you just take a little glory without bringing these guys into some kind of headlocks. I mean, I might like Palmer and what his been doing for Chelsea but, I can never put him side by side to J. Bellingham. Bellingham is such a dependable player, more than I can say for Palmer. I wouldn’t go into this though but, it’s just got to be said.

So yeah, Palmer happens to be a good transfer and am sure looking to use my free chip this GW. I think not doing that would be an error and some means to be out completely in the competition.
345  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: March 13, 2024, 10:11:59 PM
Arsenal faces some tough challenges in their upcoming matches, especially their next match against Chelsea on the 16th, which has been postponed, followed by a match against Manchester City.

Facing Manchester City won't be easy for Arsenal, and losing is not an option. Winning this match would boost their confidence for the remaining eight matches. Currently, Arsenal leads the table standings with 64 points requiring serious resilience, coordination, and encouragement from manager Mikel Arteta to succeed.
Chelsea ain’t no tough opponent for Arsenal, not with the quality of play Arsenal has been delivering lately, Chelsea ain’t no match for that and I don’t expect them to trouble Arsenal in there fixtures. Speak of Manchester City and there you could sense some real challenge. These would be the match decider as, they both stand title contenders and can’t afford to loose point. Sharing points could be the likely result and with Pep wouldn’t be up for that with his team so close to the top. What better way to secure that title by beating Arsenal. It would be some game.
346  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BC.Game 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: March 12, 2024, 03:01:44 PM

Calling them like I see them, probably some poor soul even without Palmer yesterday   Grin

Son was probably the best pick, especially for those not free hitting GW29 while Palmer is just incredible value for money and he will not leave my team unless some injurie happens.
Lol…
You know after I saw Palmer boost some points yesterday, it was a hard yo accept having him on the bench. Like, I look at my team and everyone is below average points except for Son and there is Palmer, right on the bench and his hit 13 points for a GW that is proving to be one of the worst.
Still, I couldn’t see anyone to have substituted for Palmer, given the fixture Chelsea had Newcastle, Chelsea’s performance this season and the runs of Newcastle, compared to other players I let be on the pitch and the fixture they had. Couldn’t take out Bowen, nor Saka, Foden and definitely not Son.
going forward, Watkins, Haaland or everyone’s failed Choice Solanke, nope, but Palmer did it, an assist and a goal.  This catch up game is such a long thing!
347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mirror Protocol (MIR) held "hostage" on KuCoin on: March 11, 2024, 08:35:28 PM
I don't want to sound nasty but your first post is about getting help from one of us who is active. None of us would believe in you unless you provide proof of your problem.
For real, are you being serious right now!

Maybe you don’t believe the user but I do and am sure a lot more other users do as you can see with the responses that precedes yours. I don’t know how am sounding right now but, am just surprised you would say so about a user who is only asking for directives.
It doesn’t matter if this is the user’s first post. For all I care, it could be that, the user’s enquiries on possible places to get help brought this user here and you wouldn’t expect the user to go about creating some activity rather than trying to achieve his or her purpose.

Maybe, after sorting this out, this user would find some more use of this space. It’s cool being curious on your first activity on the forum, so long as it’s directive and not expecting anyone to give you the keys to their wallet, password, loans and other form of financial aids.

I think Kucoin have done the right thing in updating you guys on the changes that is to come @OP but, they would do the most to ensure easy processing of these transactions. Perhaps a swap and then have it sent out in some other altcoin. Am guessing that wouldn’t be the case but, you could research on CEX that uses this protocol as, I can’t tell, am not a big fan of altcoins but, your welcome to seek what solution you could find, it’s what the forum is about.

348  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Still Dead? on: March 11, 2024, 08:19:29 PM
Many times I've missed the opportunity of buying Bitcoin dip because of media sentiments. In 2022, when Bitcoin was $17,168.57, which would have been a good time to build a larger holding, some claimed Bitcoin was on the road to irrelevance others said it was dead. I could understand and agree with them because the value of bitcoin had peaked at USD 69,000 in November 2021 before falling to USD 17,000 as at the mid-June 2022.
You don’t become rich by not trying, you don’t get there by listening to only one side of the story, you don’t become a successful investor by doing what the majority are doing or seeing from the majority part of view and you don’t become a hero by running away from the danger.

Even when you hear all these negativity, am sure there were those telling their part to the story, to the market, giving all there analysis as they sow fit and with the Bitcoin market to prove that there wasn’t anything unusual as well.
Today Bitcoin has risen to $72.5k and it’s still bound to rise. It will dump no doubt but, don’t be deceived by Forbes and the media when you see it at a low, see that for a buying position.
349  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cashing Out BTC in Exchanges Questions on: March 11, 2024, 07:46:45 PM

You might have exemplified quite a lot in the OP but, I find you trying to make the same point. Just having to repeat them severally but, all saying the same exact thing and that is;

Being a huge Bitcoin hodler and suddenly decides to cash in fiat for most or all of your hodlings rather suddenly. Either of your hodlings or deposit on the account from a wallet.

Well, I don’t think of that yo be much of a problem. Like it’s generally known, there isn’t any restrictions to the deposit amount except a minimum deposit amount but, there are restrictions on what volume that can be sold on the exchange, mainly based on what volume buyers are advertising to buy, other restrictions are due to your level of verification.
Most CEX operates a KYC system and as such, they leverage your level of verification. A good knowledge of this would put you in the best position on how to go about trading your coin on CEX.

Mind you, it’s better you understand what is said in there T&C to avoid the situation rather than finding solution when your in the solution.

It's filled with bad players though - that's the attraction for me Grin
There is some truth there Smiley Too bad I am not allowed to enter, would be like taking candy from the children  Grin

This was very strange GW, nobody is happy but all of us did bad so nothing really lost. Except for those who were without Son. Still some fixtures left though and a lot could change.
Taking Candy from the Children right…. But who’s kicking you out though. Your trophy position or you just want to let someone have the feeling of winning a price, lol…
Imagine you coming in to play and winning in a winner takes all competition. The goal would be lost!

Come on man, that’s heartbreaking for those without Son, no need saying that out loud, lol… am glad I had to transfer him in. Best choice I made this GW. Bad bad week no the less and even if I had captained Saka, would have been worst still. Hope Solanke gets some points in their next fixture but, even then it wouldn’t matter. Seems all y’all captained him as well.
351  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: March 11, 2024, 05:44:43 PM

Yeah there is nothing to do about the decision from now on. But this kind of mistakes made by the referees are really frustrating. Even while you have a VAR system in your hands you are still making simple mistakes...
I think the officiating yesterday was good, both the on field and off field decisions. There was very little need for the VAR yesterday when Liverpool played Manchester City. Micheal Oliver took timely and appropriate decision when he whistled.

It was undoubtedly a penalty offense from Emerson and that was called out really early as it ought to. It was as a result of a mounting pressure as Liverpool was clearly the dominant side yesterday, I’ve never seen such a terrified Manchester City team like they played yesterday.

The result was justifiable though and best still for Arsenal.
352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake loses $615k bet on Joshua-Ngannou bout on: March 09, 2024, 08:33:55 PM
Just like a normal day for Drake and seriously, this is still a small amount of money for him.
Well, we can’t blame Drake because many anticipate that Francis will be the one to win here unfortunately the result turns out different and a loss via knocked out. This could be the problem if you have that much money, you don’t analyze the match anymore and you are just following the hype or someone’s advice.
Obviously, knockouts is very much a part of the game. It doesn’t really matter what the opponents wins by so long as gambling is concerned, it’s a matter of who wins in the end, I might not be very familiar with the boxing markets but, isn’t knockout an option?

Meanwhile, it’s almost a tradition for Drake to often make these huge bets and loss then, it goes public. It’s nothing to him and doesn’t change anything about his gambling habits. His going to have his go at it yet again. Let’s just give it a little time. His shows, deals and investment makes sure his not the loser in the end.
353  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BC.Game 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: March 09, 2024, 08:23:42 PM
I feel this round will be mine.  Cheesy

With your Solanke TC? I'll reserve my comments until Wednesday when he goes up against Luton town.  Tongue

Solanke missed that penalty and couldn't convert any chances to redeem himself. If he doesn't get tangible points against Luton town, we're done for. I was stuck between Saka and Solanke.. At least with Solanke, we still have a second chance.

Welcome to another low returns GW boys
I noted that with Icopress as well, Solanke TC and here he is coming out with zero points in his first game for the GW. I almost gave him the TC on my team but am glad I didn’t. He just might be able to come up with an impressive result when they play Luton by Wednesday but, this was a blow no doubt, the Solanke miss on what should have been an easy convert.
Well, from how it’s going and could go forward, I see possibilities for Icopress as well. Either way, you ain’t still going to be far from my claws Icopress. I wouldn’t be far behind.

Saka couldn’t come up with anything spectacular yet again. It would be a week of low points after all but, on a broad scale, it wouldn’t matter so much.
354  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: March 09, 2024, 08:17:49 PM
Manchester United's performance against Everton was better than the way they performed against Fulham and Manchester City in the Premier League, respectively. Manchester United have better chances than Everton, but they lack a striker who could have converted most of those chances into a goal. Out of the 23 goal attempts, Everton only has 6 shots on goal and 17 shots on goal.
Manchester United did good for themselves today, they were more forward and doing there most to convert there chances, they missed a lot but, was still able to beat Pickford to it in some great opportunities as well. I really did expect more from Everton in this encounter but, it was obviously not going to come out to be easy with Manchester United playing from a home side and very much in need of this win to maintain a good spot in the league table.

Arsenal on the other hand wasn’t very much impressive today. Maybe because Brentford became really weary of them but, they did a lot to hold Arsenal back and even tried to level up. It was a good one from Brentford.
355  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I need honest advise concerning this. on: March 08, 2024, 11:32:06 PM

You’ve obviously observed very correctly especially with particular reference yo how it affects you and the way it’s been able to affect your forum participation.
The forum is a very large place and have got millions of users across all culture but despite its population, it’s also been able to note those who standout amongst others. It doesn’t really matter if your just a newbie, besides not all newbies are newbies and to avoid aiding in the growth of some existing users account that would be used in spamming the forum in months to come, users have learned to be very careful on how they merit I think.
Ensuring it’s very deserving of whatever is been give out.

Instead of learning how to earn merit which would t do you much good, that’s because, the reason you’re here or should be here is to discuss the Bitcoin innovation and cryptocurrency idea. Once your purpose and intent aligns about this point, you might get noted for the contribution you bring and the forum goods will follow.
356  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Need Help With Disappearance of Funds on: March 08, 2024, 11:24:23 PM
I contacted Atomic Wallet support, and all they did was give me a generic response, which didn't address the issue of why I have a zero balance.

What can I do?

Tried quoting your post with the proper codes for image insertion but, seems your image code is wrong. You should have get the BBCode rather than just any option you were given on the image hosting site and be sure not to program the images to self destruct in few hours.

Am not all that familiar with Atomic wallet since I don’t use it although, it’s like an all purpose wallet that gives you access to your coins on the blockchain. Should you download the wallet from the right source and you know what you were doing, the wallet should have worked just fine.
Maybe you should explain yourself in clear terms with pictures to support, not images that comes up with proxy image error. Perhaps someone who uses the wallet might aid you.
357  Other / Meta / Re: Hey Theymos, There Should Be a Demotion Button on: March 08, 2024, 10:47:40 PM

I get your point and the idea your postulating but, with the fact that, posts are what actually gets these merits and the ranks just comes as what is been conferred on a user based on their merit and activity accumulations, it feels odd that there should be a demerit system. It’s you indirectly saying, merits should be taken off a given post because, you’re not actually taking merits from the user, the user was never merited but, the user’s posts was.
How will you come to terms with that?
Perhaps if there should be any of such demoting system, I would say we already have it few forms.

Like we have in the wall of shame thread,
We also have DT members to note a few trash posters with tags,
Some campaign managers have got a blacklist for users that are suspected to fall in this category,
We also have the ignore button to keep them off sight.

Again, your rank doesn’t mean you know so much. Ideas are limited based on exposure and what niche you frequent. Not sure we need a demote system, it wouldn’t do any good.
358  Other / Meta / Re: Is something wrong with the forum’s native search function? on: March 08, 2024, 10:25:51 PM
Is this happening to everyone?
Yeah, I noticed this error on the 4th of March, that’ll be Monday. I didn’t give it much attention but, a common forum search that could have result in a ton of related articles was bringing up just about 3 results. I didn’t directly sense that something was wrong, just felt it was a narrowing down of the results based on what was used in the search function but yeah, it’s much clearer now. It’s good you gave it the look I didn’t.
Didn’t get the information I needed then but, did source for it over the web.

Thanks for reporting it, I think I fixed it now.
Nice one giving this some urgent attending. It sure does make things easier and the forum clear of duplicates.
359  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in healthcare on: March 07, 2024, 10:46:25 PM

You’ve got it all mixed up mate. I think the points that might apply as you introduced the thread is you having to speak about it been some means to fundings and payment for services.

When you talk about privacy and data, it’s got little to do with Bitcoin in the context you’re referring. It’s got more to do with the blockchain technology and the blockchain technology isn’t something that is peculiar to Bitcoin. It might have started with the cryptocurrency idea but, it’s been adopted across various fields today for data storage.

Meanwhile, there isn’t any privacy about that. It’s open to all and patient data isn’t maintained that way with regards to privacy.
360  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BC.Game 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: March 07, 2024, 08:08:56 PM
@Trofo, could you give me some tips about this week? Who will you choose as your captain?
It has to be Solanke this week, doesn't he?
Yeah, I already gave him the band. His been a little silent, has just returned after missing a fixture due to injury and would want to do the most with the easy fixtures they’ve got for their DGW.
My second option would be Saka. I hope not to go that way in the last minute but, Arsenal have been scoring lots of goals in there recent games and that gives the impression that, we would see some more goals when they face Brentford. Better still, they would be playing from a home side and Saka would be out to find the goal he couldn’t get against Sheffield United.

So yeah, GW28 best option for captaincy rests with Solanke or Saka. My thoughts as I have it.

Trofo, maybe GW27 came easy and perhaps you’re a bit busy but, you seem to be forgetting GW26?
Yeah you are GW26 winner. You won it on monster Bowen performance, congrats. Will be paid next Monday together with GW27.
That makes my second,  Grin
Thanks for clearing that out.
