@Trofo, could you give me some tips about this week? Who will you choose as your captain?
It has to be Solanke this week, doesn't he?
Yeah, I already gave him the band. His been a little silent, has just returned after missing a fixture due to injury and would want to do the most with the easy fixtures they’ve got for their DGW.
My second option would be Saka. I hope not to go that way in the last minute but, Arsenal have been scoring lots of goals in there recent games and that gives the impression that, we would see some more goals when they face Brentford. Better still, they would be playing from a home side and Saka would be out to find the goal he couldn’t get against Sheffield United.

So yeah, GW28 best option for captaincy rests with Solanke or Saka. My thoughts as I have it.

Trofo, maybe GW27 came easy and perhaps you’re a bit busy but, you seem to be forgetting GW26?
Yeah you are GW26 winner. You won it on monster Bowen performance, congrats. Will be paid next Monday together with GW27.
That makes my second,  Grin
Thanks for clearing that out.
342  Economy / Reputation / Re: There is an abuse of merit on: March 06, 2024, 11:08:55 PM
This is Merit abuse, but it's also allowed. An old shitposter woke up to send his airdropped sMerit to a new shitposter with a shitcoin ANN. This topic already gives him more attention than his shitcoin is worth.
But it’s allowed!
Well, I guess not having a clear definition to it which is something I am in on, as this would constitute the creation of threads that follows a pattern and even increase abuse so as it is, the case cannot be conclusively proven but, obvious abuses like this should be talked about at least.
In the context of condemnation to deter or discourage such habits in the future. On the knowledge of how the account doing the meriting just woke up, I see little reason to doubt it having to change hands. It’s the likely possibility but, users on here knows better than to see it for a base to trust activities promoted in this manner.

Yeah you are the proud winner of 1 mBTC free bet. Nice score of 96, Foden captain coming in clinch for you.

Speaking of rules and what permutations need be considered @Trofo @Icopress, who won the GW26? I bagged it right?  Grin
Will double check when I get home and make it official. Have all the bookmarks there. All free bets are paid on Monday so I am a bit lazy to pronounce in GWs where we have games mid week. When we have end on Sunday I make sure to do it immediately so free bet is not late because of me.
Trofo, maybe GW27 came easy and perhaps you’re a bit busy but, you seem to be forgetting GW26?

We're starting @GW 30. So you have two GWs to set your teams for the new challenge..

League name: Top Gainers.
Oh wow! You guys got the league on the roll already. Nice one but, don’t think am in on this one. The no give up team, top gainers. Would be watching how it goes on the sideline. Winner takes all seems like a good approach and using BTC to value your stakes in this rising market, it would be something with a handful of users. Anyway, get the fun going. Botz, bring it home!
345  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BC.Game 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: March 06, 2024, 12:41:56 PM
As I already said, I am against it since it will be unfair competition whatever you do, better take side bets who gets more points until season end between Salah, Haaland, Son...
That’s a way to go I think and the more time is spent discussing over this, the less chance that there is going to be any realistic second chance option.

As per the side league, I’ll put that to bed. It’s just few GWs ahead and I don’t see the need. I rather wait or take my chances in other on going leagues for those that are already in one. Let the season’s loss be the season’s loss. That’s gambling, you loss and let loose.

You have your eyes set on the 5th place and still have your chips available. One good use of the TC and you're there.
I haven’t been looking up to any chip for a saving grace though, I haven’t lost sight of getting into a prices position. It’s just about a 100points differentials ahead and with a little consistency in a 70point GW, i like to think it achievable but, guys in the top 10 aren’t making it any easy for real. My yardstick remains Icopress. @Icopress, am coming for you,   Roll Eyes

~snip
De Bruyne's not being able to make any contribution to the score despite playing for 90 minutes in the Manchester derby and Foden's shining like a star worsened the things for me quite much.

KDB killed my chances for a climb as well
really expected from him to shine, but unbelievably he had no contribution in Manchester derby
Arsenal defense put some points for this week, but KDB and Alvarez are ruing me
I didn’t even border on having KDB on my team this season, his a great player but, his role as I perceived it would be about giving assists and playing safe. Only getting to go for goals when it gets really difficult for the rest of the team in converting their chances. Again, his price didn’t give me much of an option. Need to split that money around on some plausible options.
346  Other / Meta / Re: New happening event notifier on: March 05, 2024, 11:19:41 PM
But then, which ones are "worthy" a notification? Maybe you want to know about the yearly community awards but not about a prominient member leaving the forum (because you might not care, etc...).
That’s one thing to look at, which event is worthy of a notifier and which isn’t…!

The forum have got specific events that are posted on the update field like we have now with the baking contest, before hand we had a publication on the situation with mixers and so forth with events that seeks public knowledge. I think when an event is of such magnitude, it finds its way to getting adequate publicity.

The issue here for most is that, we are often carved or concerns ourself with a niche. When that be the case, you’re sure to miss out on some eventuality.
We don’t need way too much notifier on the forum, I consider it to be unnecessary and it would someone create in users a lazy approach towards navigating the forum for eventualities. When you miss out, you’ve missed out. What’s expected, expansion of niche.
347  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: imagine say Bitcoin crash what nest? on: March 05, 2024, 10:59:50 PM
we all know that Bitcoin is so broad that coming to crash is so minimal, but the big question is  what if it crash?

it is so obvious that majority of the world is totally dependable on Bitcoin.
but I think that in anything we do we should try as much as having a plan b, there is nothing wrong if we invest in other business as plan b.
At times, it’s hard to actually place what humans actually wants. Sometimes it’s good, it pushes you to check all the corners but, it’s just strange somehow.

When it booms, you get the idea of it’s only going to bloom so it could burst.
When, it dumps, you get the idea that it’s gradually been liquidated to nothing.

Meanwhile, Bitcoin has been known to have all these phases and still somehow surpassed it all.

So, what if it crashes?
Even in the phase of unbelief in the possibility, you would be so wrong to been completely dependent on Bitcoin for an investment or a stream of income. Even up to this day, one of the most preached advice is on how you should diversify your investments. Having more than one streams of income. I’m the event that one fails or isn’t doing so good, there are chances that you could have the other to fill up for you.

Be safe about your investment and think about not having all your eggs in one basket. It actually makes sense in this context!
348  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: All professions are important on: March 05, 2024, 10:44:37 PM

I can relate with what your actually saying here but even still, I can tell you that the idea your presenting like, these are poor career choices or a poor man’s job isn’t what it is.

It’s all about the packaging. The packaging and how it’s presented to the public makes all the difference. Talking about carpentry, i think it’s become one of the most lucrative business in the country at the moment. Most person have gone into interior decorations, companies are been built about it and ideas continues to be projected in that angle and people in the business are doing okay.

Architecture and the so called oguanja people na just how we don see the name. There are registered companies about this line of works. They have on field and off field staff to deliver on a job.

While the farmers you talk about, farming for a poor man’s career choice or job, even our one time president Obasanjo was/is a farmer. He owns one of the biggest farms in Nigeria and his no poor man. Farming is either subsistence (small scale) or commercial (large scale). Even in these packs you’re either a livestock farmer or you grow crops. It’s just so vast and with so much opportunities to be a poor man’s job.

There is no poor man’s job, it’s just the capital it’s run on and the way it’s packaged and presented that makes all the difference.
349  Economy / Economics / Re: Insurance is important on: March 05, 2024, 07:18:03 PM
Why people do skip out on getting insurances?
They would really be thinking up

1. They wont really be needing it as if they wont be totally easily get sick, having accidents, having no plans of investment, totally healthy
I think this is about the only reason most persons that don’t have any insurance on them have got and probably those that are completely ignorant on how the insurance business actually works.

People in actual wants there insured business or policy to always okay out and have it value manifested but, they just don’t give room to the eventuality of the business. Maybe it doesn’t occur in the agreed time according to policy but, there is always room for an extension and it helps in your business survival and whatever is been insured.
It saves cost and prepares you for any eventuality without excuses.

While it might be a necessity in the developed world, the developing and underdeveloped have got little room for it but, it’s just about time though. They will get there one day and probably the low income status of most of its populace plays a role to that.
350  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BC.Game 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: March 05, 2024, 06:39:49 PM
It is very though to organize, everyone's team is in different place. What if someone does not have wildcard? You will never find enough players to agree on it.

Last season it was super simple since we had free wildcard for all.

Honestly, I don't care much about wildcards; the most important chip for me is TC and bench boast. I did not use the first WC, and if I do use the current WC, I will not exceed -12, and there is always the potential that my WC usage will go wrong.
Over my first season with the game, I didn’t get to use most of my chips like the bench boost and the triple captain. Some of the reason was that, I just didn’t know when was the best time to apply it. You don’t want to apply it and then you find your triple captain getting an averaged point or your bench coming up with something even below average. For most of us, our bench is so low quality that, we practically signed them for the purpose of warming the bench while spending more on on-field players that we feel could give us those vital points.

That’s what makes these chips under appreciate or not have much value like the WC, it’s always about a gamble on these chips but, the WC isn’t always like that.
In fact, you can almost be sure of something coming up in the DC which would require you to apply your WC. Other times would be the BGW. It’s always plausible and you have a high expectation which often plays out compared to the use of other chips.

As per the side league, I’ll put that to bed. It’s just few GWs ahead and I don’t see the need. I rather wait or take my chances in other on going leagues for those that are already in one. Let the season’s loss be the season’s loss. That’s gambling, you loss and let loose.
351  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Let fear to lose be motivation to learn on: March 04, 2024, 11:58:27 PM
Your thread title at OP is the best way to actually learn. It’s a more better way to utilize negative energies or skepticism to be more profitable for you. Instead of letting fear scare you away from your goals, it should serve as a guide, a to avoid that would push you to be more careful about the steps you’re taking towards a more positive investment. Fear is useful that way and if you’re able to view and use it that way, you would excel.

Some people just gets these fears and jump ship but, you fail in your quest as well. You might have avoided the loss in the likely event that, that would have been the result but, you loss the lesson that could have been learnt and if there was any chances of success, you’ve lost that too and could never know less you try.
352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BC.Game 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: March 04, 2024, 11:54:07 PM

The problem with Haaland is that he is so good we are judging him by his own last year standards. I mean the guy has scored 28 goals in 31 games this season. Not bad stats for any attacker no matter the name.
That’s true but, it was about time he delivers on the points that his price have got most of us hoping he could do and we knew him to do. He’s got some goals but, still far from impressive like we had in last season.

Had some high hopes on Saka in today’s fixtures against Sheffield United. The day that most of the team got goals to their names, the most goals for them on their last 5 games and Saka could get one. Arteta did take him off too early though but, he should have for that point boost. He got 2 assists though, not bad.

Still looking up for what to do with my team in the coming GW. I guess am sure bringing in Son.
353  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DCA: the power of little beginning on: March 04, 2024, 11:47:52 PM
I have come to understand and appreciate the saying that "little drops of water make a mighty ocean", the DCA method of buying Bitcoin brought me to that understanding. I have had this poor mindset of making huge profits from trading thereafter, invest part of it into Bitcoin holding as a hedge to my trading. This mindset have held me moving round the same cycle of profits and losses for over two years with no progress despite the pains and psychological torture that comes with losing streak in trading. Little did I know that buying little by little would have made me achieve even bigger results than I was targeting through trading.
One place where people get it wrong is that, DCA doesn’t necessarily mean buying with the least or little money you’ve got. It might encompass that but, it’s well above that. DCA is basically concerned with you having to buy routinely or periodically without giving much interest in the amount you’re buying. You just make sure it’s an averaged value to what income you’re getting and allowed to utilize for investments as well as running your daily expenses.
Sometimes you might invest with a very substantial amount and at other times, a low amount compared to what income you’re getting. In the end of the day, you bought Bitcoin periodically and you’re hodling it. That makes all the difference and your sure to be amazed of your accumulations in due time.
354  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: March 04, 2024, 11:41:32 PM
I watched the game from the beginning to the end, sheffield-united they were just to cheap and that is why almost all Arsenal players are scoring. Something that hardly happens just from first half, Arsenal as scored 5 goals already, no wonder sheffield-united are at the line of relegation and that is what they deserved because they could not even score 1 goal even with those extra time given i was shocked and disappointed at sheffield-united. Saka did not even play well this season.
Such bad bad play from Sheffield and United, the commentators said there was nothing good to say about them except you just want to credit them for not conceiving a second goal in the second half. Was that event a credit at all? I don’t think. It’s it’s a result of the goalkeeper delaying the restart ball else, Arsenal would have come knocking once more as they never stopped asking the Sheffield United defense questions. Arteta though satisfied made just a lot of changes to rest his players and how could he not, he got the result but even then, G. Jesus was so out trying to get one.
It was an incredible performance from Arsenal and they now rank top in goal difference on the league table while they seek out the top spot still.
355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BC.Game 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: March 03, 2024, 04:36:16 PM
Everybody's got a bad round it seems, but City assets are yet to be counted. Considering that I have only Alvarez who is starting from the bench, I hope for a quiet derby Grin

Solanke played, which means one less transfer to do for the next round. Lucky for me because now that KDB is back, Alvarez is not playing as many minutes as he used to.
It’s not been a round that I enjoy either even with some of the assets yet to play but, it’s across the board so, little need there for worry.

Meanwhile, the Solanke asset, imagine my surprise when I found him featuring after I had benched him for the GW. He just couldn’t manage a goal or even an assist and so, ended up with just 2 points which means, having him to feature wouldn’t have made any much difference although, am delighted his fit enough to play in the DGW, his definitely going to produce something from those light fixtures and yeah, one less transfer to make.

So we anticipated a KDB and E. Haaland combo and Pep has been sure to grant us that and still, it’s been some terrible misses from E. Haaland so far. Like, what’s wrong with the player in the EPL. Maybe it’s just first half and too early to say but, he got such an easy chance to convert in the 44th minute and he sent it flying over the crossbar. Too bad for those who saw it fit to still leave him with the captaincy band.
356  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: March 03, 2024, 04:28:36 PM
The first half is over but the score is in United's favour, lol, time to bet on City! Live quotes are super attractive:

1.92 - 3.58 - 3.82

In terms of expected goals, City are already up by 2, and United by 0  Grin The fact that the score is now in favor of United is nothing more than a random fluctuation and I am sure that United will not be able to maintain their luck for the entire second half.
It was an anticipated combo on the starting line, E. Haaland and KDB, unfortunately for the Manchester city fans and those that might have picked them for a first half result, it haven’t been anything to write home about for the Citizens. Haaland seems to be well positioned and is been looked for but, his not getting the best touches to get the ball on target and even in the goal. Despite the fact that they are down by a goal, the Foden pass just within the box is something that E. Haaland should have easily converted. All it needed was a touch and the ball would have been in the goal but no, he jabbed it over the cross bar. That’s really terrible coming from such a high profile player.
Manchester City have still got a chance I must say, they would come in the second half to do the most we hope but, I would like to see Manchester United deprive them of 3points in this fixture.
357  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You lose more when you over trade on: March 02, 2024, 08:27:19 PM
Me I dont trade if the market doesn't come to me, if I don't sees the right setup I don't trade at all, even if it takes a month without trading, it's better for me to wait and be profitable than to lose my capital, stay discipline and be profitable.
Some traders especially those who are new into trading would like to believe that, having more frequent and regular trades increases your chance of profit. Well the truth is, it might be the case for a very experienced few but for majority, the case would be very different towards the negative. Being in the market too often is an adrenaline drive that brings you more closer to letting emotions come into your game.
It messes up your trading plan as you’re likely going to find yourself not making proper analysis and often jumping into conclusion without a thorough view of what is in front of you.
You wouldn’t escape what that patience would have let slide by you, you just end up taking wrong trades and having your SL kicked every time.
358  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Or Investing which one is better to focus on right now? on: March 02, 2024, 08:17:25 PM
So now, what do y'all do? As for me, I just invested in some coins I believe that will surge in few months while I observe what the market is doing.
Let’s hope you didn’t gamble your investment by living it just at the believe level and you actually did some of in depth research on what’s the likely possibilities based on certain observed/noticeable criteria. It wouldn’t border uou much when it comes to the top coins like the once that numbers behind Bitcoin on the charts but still, it doesn’t mean they’ll all be around.

Your probably best option now would be to invest by buying Bitcoin and hodl. I wouldn’t relate this to altcoins as, Bitcoin is where it all stems from and the all reliable. You don’t need to go into the market now without some good level of experience. A market that projects the break of an outstanding ATH before the halving, that’s something to be cautious about.

This is obviously another attempt to fish merit.
A calculated attempt or not, I see a good initiative been executed to its letter.

When you see people doing positive for their locals, appreciate and encourage them. It could only spawn more of this and the local people would be enlightened as well as delighted that they are being cared for, loved and remembered.

That’s why, I think OP has done a great job at this one, taking into consideration the aims to be archived and how to loudly and yet silently pass a message to a young generation that would be willing and ready to accept the change that is to come and build on that change for a positive society.

Nice one OP.

Liverpool match against Nottingham forest was so interesting it wasn't an easy ride for Liverpool but however they finally won by 1 goals ofcourse three points has been achieved.
A single goal in the plus 9 minutes for the league leaders in what I and I believe it goes the way for most of us, in what we could have expected to be an easy win turned out to be a stand threatening performance. That’s not a smooth game though they dominated and managed to win but it wasn’t anything smooth. Their position as league leaders could have easily slipped off them. I didn’t see them winning this one from how the game have treaded but, Nunez to the rescue.

Spurs on the other hand was nothing short of impressive. Coming from a 1 goal down to beat Crystal Palace by 3 goals to 1, that’s just what is expected of them. It’s a game that they should win and they finally did it late for themselves.
