Any idea when the AntMiner S4 will be announced?
342  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 08, 2014, 06:51:09 PM
If I were you I wouldn't peddle these miners here, most people in this thread are smarter than that. There is also a glaring violation of Amazon T&Cs (I'll let you figure that out for yourself), so you probably won't last long there.

You're right, I'll remove my posts. Regardless, I am impressed by the demand for these.

ANTMINER S3 Batch 6 sales open. 0.66BTC per S3 will be shipped on August 12th, shipping cost included.

Thanks Bitmain, you kicked but with batch 5! Coupons in the near future?
346  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 04, 2014, 03:32:14 PM
Who is having batch5  with ups and  has ups update their status? Any problem so far

I use UPS and have incoming batch #5 miners that have been updated today. Is there something specific you're looking for? Where are you located? (I'm in the US)

My previous order was for 50 batch 4 units and they arrived earlier than advertised. I had a call from customs to confirm my SSN/EIN, but that didn't seem to delay anything. I never get calls from customs unless the order on the invoice is over ~$10k.

My batch 5 miners will arrive Wednesday. We sell in the US and Canada if anyone's interested. We've already fulfilled over 100 AntMiner S3s to date with 100% satisfaction rate.

[Cross post from here the S3 thread]

I received all 40 S3s a few hours ago, but it looks like I miscounted my orders and have 1 remaining AntMiner S3 for sale  Cheesy. I'm heading to the UPS store to ship everything in about an hour, so if anyone wants to purchase the last one - It's for sale on Amazon or I can accept 0.9BTC directly. Shipping to US only (free). PM me if interested.

Sold! Thanks everyone!

Since the S2 ships in 48 hours, I'm guessing that maybe Bitmain only ships every other day.

And since its now the 17th in Hong Kong, with any luck the rest of batch 1 will ship within the next 17 hours.

I order daily from them and they definitely ship every day except Sunday

Hooray!

All 40 AntMiner S3s we ordered will be delivered on Thursday and then shipped same-day to anyone who bought through us on Amazon!

For reference, our order times were as follows:
30 units: 2014-06-30 14:03:31
10 units: 2014-06-30 14:10:42

Ps, there's 2 left if anyone's interested  Wink
I almost pulled the trigger to grab them, but a bit too high on the price.  Don't suppose you'd take 1.6BTC for them both?

I'd accept 1.8 with free shipping within the US. PM me if interested.

hope S3-B4 is happening soon. I had to wait on coinbase and unfortunately I did not get my coins in time for B3.
buy from amazon, errr i forgot who's selling
just ask around here, someone already bought from them(amazon)
quite cheap.. around $500

In your dreams... Grin

CrytoCrane on Amazon, I use coin from Bitmain so can't say either way about them but 639.00 for one and 1219.00 for the 2 pack.

Thanks for the mention sjc1490! We still have a couple batch #1 S3s available and have notified all buyers that they will receive an automatic 7.7% partial refund due to the spec change. We also honor order cancellations anytime before shipment. We're based in Michigan and are extremely committed to offering the absolute best in terms of support, communication, and honesty. In fact, we'll be the first to recommend purchasing through Bitmain directly if you have the bitcoin - but there are many who only want a single S3 or who only have USD/Credit.

If anyone still wants a batch #1 S3, check out our Amazon store here.
353  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: July 15, 2014, 01:58:58 AM
Well, I've contacted everyone who has purchased through me on Amazon and informed them that the specs have now changed and that an automatic partial refund of 7.7% will be applied to their orders unless they opt to cancel their order entirely. Feedback has been very positive thus far, but I'm probably going to go crazy if these don't ship tomorrow.
354  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S3 B4/B3 on: July 15, 2014, 01:52:21 AM
Do any of you know when purchasing S3 late batch 3 or batch 4 will be available?

Thanks,

Bitmain hasn't announced their plans for batch 4 yet, but most expect it to begin within the next 2 weeks.
355  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Lowest Difficulty increase in a while! on: July 14, 2014, 04:17:05 AM
I don't think we've seen the last of the 25% increases in hash rate - especially if the price spikes. The previous efficiency gains in Gh/watt were largely due to smaller and smaller lithography. The first ASICs started with really old 110nm tech and the huge spikes in hash rate over the last year have been mostly attributable to manufacturer's catching up to modern 28nm tech. 20nm is bleeding edge and 14nm is reserved for the likes of Intel for the next couple years. The improvement in Gh/watt from 28nm tech to 20nm tech is ~29%. Going from 20nm to 14nm will be another 30% on top of the last efficiency gain.

Given current bitcoin prices at ~$630, electric cost per kWh @ $0.1326 (my rate), and best GH/watt for 28nm = 2Gh (0.5W/Gh) - one can see that 14nm tech will give us about double the efficiency of today's 28nm tech. If every miner in the world were running 14nm @ 0.25w/Gh, the equilibrium point in which electricity costs as much as mined revenue will be when the diff rate = ~370b or 21.3x the current rate (17,336,316,979 x 21.3 = ~370b).

Assuming 14nm tech becomes widely available in 2016, our average increase per diff adjustment would be around 30% between now and then. Of course, I don't expect to reach equilibrium with 14nm gear and therefore this whole exercise is pointless - but it's fun to imagine anyways!
356  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: BitReturn.com - Introducing new Bitcoin mining forecast and ROI calculator on: July 14, 2014, 03:15:52 AM
Thats a shame I wonder if he would be interested in selling it I'd love to bring this back to life!

BitReturn never managed to get the site's name known in the community. If you like the functionality that much, why don't you copy it to another site and promote the new one?

If you do start a new one, PLEASE don't base difficulty increases on monthly percentages. They should be based on the real factor - every 2016 blocks. If you know the hash rate, it's easy to calculate what amount you will mine per 2016 blocks and you can use the % increase per 2016 blocks to estimate actual dates. For example, if you're expecting each diff adjustment to increase by 15%, then you know that 2016 blocks will take 12.17 days (14 days / 1.15). Also, allow for a decreasing (or increasing) modifier on the change percentage itself.

357  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Which ASICs are least loud? on: July 14, 2014, 02:47:24 AM
You can't beat Bitfury for quiet. New Bitfurys are available, but are quite expensive.

Kept in a cool place, I expect the new S3 to be relatively quiet.

I hope that extra fan on the new S3 translates to really low RPMs as Bitmain suggested. I'm actually pretty happy with the noise levels of the S1 & S2, so any improvement is just a bonus.

I heard the first shipment got hijacked by 3 lowered Civics with green neon lights, anyone got any details?

Lol, I hope the 1st batch wasn't so small it could be carried away by 3 Civics!
360  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: July 13, 2014, 11:13:49 PM
I am one of the first ones to buy on Batch 1. I'll let you guys know when it ships for me.

Likewise I ordered the minute they brought them for sale in the store. I've yet to receive any tracking info yet this is my first ever bitmaintech purchase and really hoping they deliver within the time frame. Hoping to see an update they must be pretty busy packing up all the miners they just took off the network. Cheesy

Or you know, the 1 miner they've made  Wink
