This really takes the cake. Although 5% gain in 24 hours is nothing uncommon for Bitcoin, this increase has come on the back of a very strong rally. Plus it has come when everybody was expecting a pull back. The hodlers have reasons to cheer.  |

I think Dhoni will make a difference in the match and i really wish Pune win this final with all the drama associated with the team in the beginning when Smith was appointed the captain they have come a long way to play as a team when needed and reach the final and it is just one step to win the tournament and i hope they can do that.
The big day is here. Mumbai have a lot of star power and big hitters. If one of them really get going, it could be tough for Pune. Pune on the other hand have the cool cucumber Dhoni. They will want to bow out in style from the tournament. |

We are getting closer to $2000 price. I guess there would be a mass selling if we ever reach that price. I think most of bitcoiner is also waiting for that before they are going to sell as they are also expecting a mass selling. So they are going to take a profit before it goes down a bit again.
$2000 is a nice, round number, it may trigger some selling, but as you said, there's tons of people dreaming to buy cheaper BTC to get in the boat, so they are going to be buying as soon as a good dip happens, it will be going up quickly after. Once $2000 is broken, the psychological barrier is also broken for the uptrend, so sky is the limit. Once we double the 2013 peak then 5 figures is the next step. And it is now broken, my dear sir. At least it says $2010 on the wallet I use, and I believe it. Haven't checked preev yet. At $1800 I was expecting a major correction but it did not come. I agree that this is an important milestone. I truly believe it's just one stop on the way to $10,000 and higher. Going to hold on to what I have and I'll probably buy more when I get money. The price is jumping on an hourly basis. The price is $2064 on coinmarketcap now. That is a $50 jump in the last couple of hours. I expect a pullback, but we definitely are in a bull run. |

Like many powerful currencies in the past, USD may fall to ground too, my question is will that effect BTC value? Or is it independent of all other real world or non digital currencies of the world?
Bitcoin is independent. We just have to look at the purchasing power of Bitcoin, not its value in USD terms. More than anything, if the USD falls there will be a vacuum at the world level. If Bitcoin's adoption is high enough, Bitcoin may fill that vacuum. |

Big match coming tomorrow of Mi vs KKR . KKR always like to chase and in Banglore it main rain so team. Attuned second may have an advantage if the team of first batting score is low else it will be difficult batting second . Hope to see a good match
Absolutely important and big game tomorrow. Basically between two best teams of this season. I feel that MI will win the match tomorrow and IPL Final will have a derby. Would love to see this season Mumbai are in good form and they should be the favourites for this match. Overall in IPL, Mumbai have a good head to head record against Kolkatta, winning 15 out of the 20 matches. It won't be a cake walk, but I would bet on Mumbai winning this match. |

Low risk, but a dead investment. Plus there is a cost of storage and cost of carry. I would look at gold only for a small portion of my portfolio, as a hedge against run away inflation. |

I do think that bitcoin is yet to launch to the moon yet, this is just a preparation, remember scaling is not fixed yet so bitcoin trying to launch to the moon will definitely fail because of its limitations. Fix the scalability issue and we can see Bitcoin going to the moon.
Scaling seems to be an insurmountable problem, but the market is more or less ignoring it now. Unfortunately, the huge pile up of unconfirmed transactions provides us a constant reminder. |

Finally Pune won the match and all thanks to the bowling team. The first wicket fell after 40 runs and then they kept falling. MI lost 5 wickets in the first 10 overs which made the match look one sided. When Rohit got out, Pollard still had a chance to hit runs but that catch was the best highlight of the match. The remaining batsmen too couldn't save the match as they were hitting at 6 runs per over. It's shocking that Mumbai lost in their home ground but all wishes to MSD and the team.
In the first 18 overs of the match, you wouldn't have given Pune a chance. But the last 2 overs of the first innings made the difference. You can bank of MS Dhoni in the slog overs. And then the bowling was exceptional to hand Pune the match. |

It seems like everything is all about smart contracts nowadays. Are there things we cannot do or replace with smart contracts? Or is it just performance/size limitations of the blockchain that is limiting smart contract's growth and potential?
The growth in smart contracts will be gradual. At first, simple contracts will become smart. Once the stability of smart contracts is established, then people will consider using smart contracts for complicated problems. |

Exactly. If Bitcoin was not that prominent cryptocurrency then cyber criminals would use other altcoin. If we won't have cryptocurrency at all, they would use other means of payment like they tend to do in the past: bank wire transfers, premium text messages, pre paid voucher like Paysafecard and more. It is idiotic when you blame Bitcoin for ransomware (which NSA or CIA leaked in the first place). Also, MS Windows should be blamed. Microsoft has very conveniently blamed people for not updating their software. No talk of liability for releasing buggy software in the first place. And there is the issue of software like Windows XP, which the Company no longer "supports". |

Today MI vs Pune will be tough for both teams. For MI it will be home ground but last time MI lost to Punjab in an interesting nail biting match . While on other hand Pune will play their heart out considering the way they have come in this tournament will boost their confidence . Any one who loses still have 1 more chance to play against winner of 3rd vs 4th team in this tournament.
MI has an upper hand this time and they will most probably bowl first if they win the toss. Today the toss matters a lot as whichever team wins it, they can get a chance to plan their game and restrict the other team. Dhoni only will be having supporters today from his team while majority of the crowd will cheer for Mumbai. This too puts a pressure on the other team. Pune having good bowling lineup and it does not only depend on just Dhoni they got very good players, and they have the capability to win this game. Mumbai also has all rounders in their team, but if they lost early wickets, they would suffer to make a big score. One thing is to confirm in this game we will get full entertainment. I am waiting for the game start. Pune needs to make at least 160 if they want to fight against MI. At current run rate, it seems pune keep resting their 7 wickets for nothing. Only 4 overs left and it's time to hit big or leave the ground. The wicket is not easy to bat on, but I am surprised that Pune aren't trying to accelerate. With 7 wickets in hand, they can afford to go for some big shots. Pune has recovered reasonably well after losing 2 early wickets. |

If Bitcoin price pumps from $1300 to $3000 in few hours, nobody would make profit from it, because the exchanges wouldn't allow you to sell your Bitcoins and make the fast profit, it would bring a big loss for exchange sites.

Exchangers will have to accept all sellings, that's their work and no matter what price will be. And I doubt that too many people will jump to sell their coins. Some par yes, but there will be a part of people who will skip such event only cause of they don't follow bitcoin's price nonstop, and of course will be people who will wait for some higher growth and will just take the position of waiting. One thing happened couple weeks ago when on one exchanger the price for bitcoin fell to 0.6$ per 1 BTC cause of the service's mistake. As I heard not so manypeople could buy bitcoin for such price. I wander to hear if someone really could Exchanges don't accept buyings or sellings. They just match orders. Your sell order can remain unfulfilled if there is not matching buy order. |

Such a tense day today for both Pune and Kings who need to desperately win this game to qualify. Kings have won back to back three games while even Pune have been winning big matches. Today Stokes, Dhoni, Smith from Pune and Singh, Marsh, Sharma and Maxwell from Kings XI will be the ones to watch out for. Only thing that may matter is the game is in Pune.
Looks like supergiants have gotten better of Kings XI. 56 for 6 after 10 overs is a pretty good sign for supergiants. I want them to win because they have the strength to defeat KKR in the eliminator. Do or Die match for both teams, but Punjab failed in batting. They got all out for just 73 runs. Superb bowling from supergiants. And now this match become one sided game Pune will qualify semi finals. Today's another match RCB vs. DD both teams out of this tournaments lets RCB at least win his last match, or they will lose this game also. Pune scored 36 runs in 5 overs no wicket loss. they need 38 runs from 15 overs. I think within 10 overs the match will finish. This is a bad performance from Punjab. I was not expected this game will become one side. Anyway, RPS will take 2nd place to win this game. They will get one more chance to reach finals. Pune absolutely smashed Punjab to get into the finals today. Punjab could score only 73 in virtually a knock out match. An all round bowling performance by Pune. And the runs were knocked off in only 12 overs. |

if there was a surge like that and you couldn't get a sale, most of the time it's down to the exchange failing. bitfinex have done it in the past, kraken does it all the time, with alts poloniex has done it too.
could they be hitting a button somewhere? it's possible. it's not against the law and there's money in it
I doubt if they could legally do so. If there is an investigation, they would be in trouble. They make money when trades happen and it is in their best interest to facilitate trades. |
