nice Cool

Don't recall where the post was about the 500 ✪ BϾϾ ✪ from the Poloniex give a way many moons ago, but did try to send it to BN & not seeing it just motionless in space. I'll have to search for that post, if it was a keeper of the rest & not deleted to keep from becoming Hero or Legend (post count stats = Total time logged in: 70 days //after today). Here's the image of testing the withdrawal to BN, looking like no luck of the tx going through  Undecided

WoW, looks like 99% of the Given WATER on Do-a-Bit-of-Good was me?!

Your generosity is legendary !

Actually just a Sr. Member, though I still try & give 190% when I can. The want to cross that board of Legendary isn't for me, as communication wouldn't be one of my strongest suits. Future of understanding seems to grow over time though, a picture says 1000 words & video says an unlimited amount of understand.

this is why we need Predictable Hard Forks -- to shrink down the chain to something easy to sync on a regular basis...

-dvd

Predictable Hard Forks would fix many problems, as a charity coin & directed toward giving might work well.

*there is no reason why most of theses chains get so long, swaps should have been done on many of these when they actually started to gum up

**that is many of these experiments though, not enough people to keep the CODE on the right paths & thankful that new people are learning to CODE everyday  Wink

This is EXACTLY why we're proposing doing a "Predictable Hard Fork" every so many blocks -- that would take all the unspent outputs and cast a new super-genesis block to start from.  You can read more about it in our whitepaper of course:  http://bit.ly/2GiveCoin

The chain "bloat" is why 2GIVE has a whole "coalescing" function built in to combat the fractioning that happens with POS operations -- instead of trying to find a single right-sized coin to fulfill a send operation, we try and bundle up smaller outputs + 10% of the wallet balance to flow back as change to keep building bigger units.

I spent the better part of a year doing research and at least six alpha chain tests before I was finally comfortable putting out Release Candidate One (RC1) of 2GIVE

I hope you like it ;-)

-dvd

I more than like it, as have I upon seeing many improvements in theses applications & whitepapers are old manuals to me (TV or Book if you Will). Not all can understand manuals, but many can still put things together if needed & always wanting to help  Wink

Thanks, now my wallet is connected to network (1 active connection) but the blockchain is not syncing. I'm stuck at block 520498.

We have 566,508 on one node and the new node is reindexing from the blk0001.dat file -- currently up to around 202,000 and climbing

-dvd

est total = 566,492 w/ 3 connections @ 365,998 now

//very slow chain, but as are many of these experiments & that is just there lack of codebase updates (to many coins, not enough coders) or layers of apps on top of the chain (like BTC, LTC, DOGE, 2015-16 coins have created).

*there is no reason why most of theses chains get so long, swaps should have been done on many of these when they actually started to gum up

//engine does look to be gumming up off & on, but will keep posted

//throttles the CPU @ 30% (100% of a core) & 173Mb RAM, which was 1Gb on a 1TB HDD

It's a pig -- compare it side by side with 2GIVE which is a fork of the WATER wallet

-dvd

That would be a understatement for many, not quite the semi-animals it takes as some chains need giant elephants to move & that's just the engineering of the worlds designs. I have watched the worlds devices keep git smaller & less of what took to much effort, can now help all. Nothing is perfect, but we still imagine a world of it & search for it.

Can somebody please provide list of working CleanWaterCoin nodes?

Our public facing peering node is

addnode=204.246.68.172:53591

I will spin up another here shortly just to stabilize the network....

Okay 192.169.7.65:53591 is syncing the chain atm -- give it a bit

Starting to get some traction on our swap offer for 2GIVE

-dvd

Thanks, now my wallet is connected to network (1 active connection) but the blockchain is not syncing. I'm stuck at block 520498.

The new node I spun up is getting stuck at 150998 -- I think what i'll do is just rsyc the blockchain over and then restart  / reindex it.

I have tried adding -nosynccheckpoints to the command line and the conf file but it's bitching about being 'out of sync'

Thanks 'Testing Crypto'! That opened my account Smiley

You're very much welcome (who ever you maybe), hope you can make it account for something & Do a Bit of Good with it "maybe". Many years of waiting for the possibility of actually knowing much good could be built into all of this if the right paths are created, still unsure of the future & trying to have patience in the futures that could be. If everyone in the world was able to help physically (but not able), "so" creating ways for giving & in the future knowing it was real.
351  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin needs to move to POS. Thoughts? on: May 09, 2016, 02:19:44 AM
Bitcoin POS mmmm that would be nice and allow much more people to "mine" which (I think) it was one of the beauties of Bitcoin at the beginning.

Still.. this would destroy bitcoin at the current stage.
How can POS destroy Bitcoin? If Bitcoin move to Staking, Im sure the price will go high and it will be fair to everyone.

not sure at all.....

Would one be able to code Windows 10 on Windows XP (Old to New Apple & Linux codebase applies as well)?
Think that time has long passed (1Mb anyone)?
Having the idea of producing an interest rate from a 7+ year old prototype (sure 3rd parties, as the prototype holds the most value in prestige working condition)?
So research could be very much WoW (thinks about users who think Sha256 or Scrypt is still the only codebase over the years)?
Code:
Code has been tested with many of PoW to PoS for a reason (seen so many different tests on 1000+)?
352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [2GIVE] / "AIRDROP" FOR BITTREX SWAP WRAPPING UP! on: May 09, 2016, 02:06:18 AM
We have now moved 270M coins in 1M blocks to Bittrex -- we'll get the final balance of Givecoin 1.0 (GIVE) from them tonight at midnight and transfer the remainder.

Meanwhile we continue to drop 1,000 coin block rewards every half hour as part of seeding the POS network for the first 30 days until it kicks in and self-sustains the chain...

Release Candidate 4 (RC4) is going through beta testing right now -- we hope to have it available for download on Monday.

Looking like some great improvements on the GUI, can't wait to test RC4  Cool

Max Coins > PoS: ~150,000

Only Forging or Staking as past builds, but I wouldn't recommend testing with mining a chain worth more than 0.00000001 sat & maybe learn before you risk anything. There are 1000's of chains to test with, but I would again recommend to "do your own research" & "never follow known or even unknown forum/chat users"  Wink

// 2 hours since last block & chain looks stalled, so really wouldn't recommend IT

Edit: Must have been a 5 hour overlay or delay, thinking that happens every few days for some reason or other & might be part of the codebase?

Is the POW phase still going on? Can I mine this coin now, or only staking is happening now? I've setup my wallet and its running with the miner ON, but not seeing much activity..
Wallet address: GiveKE3M64ZMi2qA2mFvkNrQSkWQ4CinEM

The good news is, the POW "phase" is forever :-)

2GIVE is a hybrid POS/POW -- the POW is all based on TXFEE's which are a generous 1% of any SEND.

Do you have "setgenerate true" turn on in the console or did you download the RC3 client and set the option for it?

Currently the seed nodes are sending 100K blocks around which drop 1,000 coin rewards every 1/2 hour -- and we're just over half way through the "airdrop" where where are moving ~250M coins to Bittrex 1M coins at a time which creates a 10,000 coin TXFEE block reward.

Good luck!!

-dvd

POW idea looks good! I'm running the self compiled Linux headless daemon with gen=1. Will keep it ON and see if I will get lucky Smiley

Verified users would be great.

It's so simple to do!  We have the sign and verify signature capabilities built into the wallets already -- we just want to make it simple for people to do.

At a high-level you'd create an avatar/user account on 2GIVE.INFO and link your Give* address to your profile -- then we would ask you to digitally sign something to prove you have the rights to that address.

It would be that simple!

Then in our world your "mojo" / "seniority" would be based on your shareholder level!  Which could change over time.

Plus we can then do Wall of Fames around "most generous"  in terms of donations to recognized causes -- or on the TX you did and your TXFEE's donated to the network.

Plus when we power up the social tipping, how cool would it be to bump up someones post on a forum by sending them some 2GIVE??

I really like this idea, bumping up posts by sending 2GIVE seems fun!  Any ETA on when a forum like this might get done? Or is it too early to say? Smiley

Knowing that the forum doesn't like give-a-ways (only PM's), mostly because of signs & years of reasons. Thinking that's why there are {below \/} sigs, but only allows so much {space} & or people would show everything they support (for some that's everything). Really would like to Give in person (the Minn. fair idea = +1000), but mostly because it's not likely people want to give to something they can't see the Good it does (smiles & happiness it brings).

Hello gentlemen. Who will send me a new 2give? 10-100-1000 givecoin?
my address Givem6BbgeEMS1DZ2mczpZAVpkPZ9XEo8s. I need to a test

Just saw this on the "rich list" which honestly for 2GIVE should be named "Top Stakeholders" ;-)

Code:
Givem6BbgeEMS1DZ2mczpZAVpkPZ9XEo8s	100 2GIVE	1	0 2GIVE	100 2GIVE
GivegbAzuK127GBDM2VSUXLmvoGYPCGsfm 1 2GIVE 1 0 2GIVE 1 2GIVE

Looks like someone sent you 100 2GIVE -- and someone else earned the 1 2GIVE TXFEE !

Just sent 100 2Give as well, in the spirit of giving & testing.

I am in the process of creating T-shirts with the logo 2give Smiley

Hey that's pretty cool!   Go for it!

I was thinking that eventually SNF would have t-shirts, coffee mugs etc that people could spend their 2GIVE on for funsies.

Something simple with the tag line "It's Better 2GIVE"

And then the url somewhere  http://2Give.Info

(the http is ugly but I don't know that most people know that ".info" is a thing yet

Can't wait to see what you come up with!

I actually donated to BitGive last year, but didn't know about the tee-shirts til payment was sent (took a year to build the donation on a budget) & would proudly use any 2Give merchandise to get others interested in 2Give (Do-a-Bit-of-Good as well). Can't wait to see what you come up with, have a small business near by that does marketing banners & cards, will have to see if they do custom cards (maybe instead of paper wallets, birthday & business QR coded cards?).
