341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think about Kucoin Voting Competition ? on: July 15, 2018, 01:41:16 PM
If the exchange does not expressly prohibit it in its rules, I don't see any problem. The project that wins the competition saves the money that would have to pay for the listing and also receives $30,000 in the form of a marketing package. There is nothing wrong in distributing a part of that money among the users who vote for them.
342  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will wild swings in GAS prices make ETH based projects economically uncertain? on: July 14, 2018, 02:09:37 PM
I think this situation is temporary and sooner or later it will stabilize. Anyway, the difference is about two dollars, I think those large businesses that you mention would not have much problem with it. It would be different if the price of ETH and consequently the price of gas were ten times higher.
343  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think the commercial war will affect the crypto market? on: July 14, 2018, 01:12:19 PM
There will not be an economic crisis because of this dispute, things will not go that far, but, even if that happened, it would not negatively affect cryptocurrencies. If anything, the opposite could happen since people could use cryptos as a refuge.
344  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why We Will Hit New Highs - ETF Date August 10th on: July 13, 2018, 04:53:57 PM
From what I heard, insider info is it will be approved.
Tell us more.

I doubt that there are leaks about this before the decision is made public. There may be experts who think or are sure that it will be approved but until there is an official decision, all that is said will be mere conjecture.
345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Altcoin be as important as Bitcoin? on: July 12, 2018, 04:43:06 PM
First of all, you talk about altcoins as if they were one single thing and that's not the case. There are more than a thousand altcoins, counting tokens. Among these, some are and will be important but don't delude yourself thinking that any of these altcoins will have the importance of bitcoin because it will not be like that. If someone thinks that there is some altcoin that can be something like the new bitcoin, he is wrong.
346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Opera browser has launched its cryptocurrency wallet! on: July 12, 2018, 02:36:11 PM
It seems to me that this can be a double-edged sword, on the one hand it's true that it can attract new people to crypto world but, on the other hand, a browser wallet is not exactly a safe wallet, if you attract people to cryptos but then these people lose their funds because of some vulnerability or a hack you will get the opposite effect to that which you expected to get.
347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What makes listing of coins so high on: July 11, 2018, 01:34:35 PM
It's the law of supply and demand, there are many new coins and tokens that wish to be listed on exchanges and exchanges take advantage of the situation, especially those with a greater number of users and in which there is a higher trading volume. Anyway, there are other exchanges that are less popular where it's cheaper to list a coin or a token, it's a question of evaluating the possibilities.
348  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Myetherwallet is not really safe on: July 11, 2018, 11:44:46 AM
This hack is not related to MEW security nor makes MEW less secure. What has been hacked is a browser extension. What people have to consider is the convenience of installing this type of extensions. Keep in mind that in the same way that hackers have been able to register the activity in MEW, they have been able to register any other activity in the browser. Anyway, you can always use the desktop version of MEW that is more secure.
349  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook is starting to take the blockchain technology seriously. on: July 09, 2018, 02:41:00 PM
It seems that facebook plans to implement their own cryptocurrency are serious although I don't know what utility it could have. Facebook is supposedly a free platform in which, if I'm not wrong, there are no paid services, and using Facebook to make transactions between individuals would not make much sense, unless you don't care about your privacy at all. It seems an attempt not to become obsolete more than anything else.
350  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin Wallets on: July 09, 2018, 09:15:57 AM
Download the wallet from the official site of each project. Scan the wallet file with an updated antivirus and send it to Virustotal site before installation. To add an extra security layer install the file on a virtual machine. With these steps you can reduce risks. On the other hand, there are wallets like coinomi that support various altcoins.
351  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The value of the coin is affected by the news? on: July 08, 2018, 08:39:37 PM
You need to take into account that the news you have posted is related to the future use of blockchain technology by IBM but it has no relation with cryptocurrencies. Therefore, it cannot influence the crypto market.
352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Swiss banks to open up for Crypto Business on: July 08, 2018, 01:57:44 PM
Swiss policy makers are on the conclusion that restricting crypto startups and business have shifted those business into more crypto friendly places like Singapore, Malta and Gibraltar. Now they don't want to miss it anymore. The Swiss banks are expected to be ruled to accept crypto businesses by the end of the year.

https://news.bitcoin.com/switzerland-considers-granting-crypto-businesses-access-to-banking-services/

Where do these restrictions come from, from the government or from the banks themselves? It's surprising that this thing happens in a country like Switzerland. At least they have realized the error and are rectifying. In this globalized world, talent always seeks the most friendly place to develop, if you bet on a sector you have to do it well.
353  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cardano threatens Ethereum! on: July 08, 2018, 01:01:14 PM
Now that Ethereum is suffering the problem of high fees, it's time for other projects to take advantage of the situation and offer themselves as an alternative. I think it's smarter to offer themselves as an alternative than as a substitute for Ethereum. Anyway, one thing is the words and another thing is the facts, and we must see what happens if Cardano or other projects are used massively as Ethereum, we will have to see if these projects suffer the same problems or not.
354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to earn using your personal data? on: July 07, 2018, 02:03:38 PM
Your personal data is more valuable than any amount of money someone can give you for them. The problem is focused from an erroneous point of view, it's not about paying users for their data, it's about not taking that data.
355  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Eth fees are up 7000 percent on: July 07, 2018, 01:15:01 PM
This is one of the weaknesses of Ethereum, a kitties game and an exchange with an extravagant idea are enough to congest the network causing problems that affect not only the fees but also the ICOs operation. I guess this will be something good for their competitors since many ICOs will consider using other platforms in the future.
356  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can the global crisis affect crypto? on: July 07, 2018, 12:07:20 PM
It will depend on several factors such as the number of people who know the cryptocurrencies, the number of people who own cryptos and, above all, the perception that people have of cryptocurrencies. If people see them as a safe store of value that can serve as a refuge, there can be a massive purchase of cryptocurrencies, especially bitcoin. On the other hand, if the perception of people is that cryptos suppose a very high risk, it's possible that the opposite effect takes place and that those who have cryptos sell them to get fiat money. In the end, it will depend on whether people think that cryptos are more or less secure than fiat money. If we take into account the recent history, the most feasible option would be the first one.
357  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Utilization of Eth addresses. on: July 05, 2018, 09:44:56 PM
As I noticed, when we use exchanges to sell our tokens, usually the exchange itself creates a new erc20 wallet for every person who joins. Therefore if a person have 2 different tokens to be sold and if those tokens are listed in 20 different exchanges, that person needs to handle or keep details about all of those 20 different wallets. This is a very difficult task for him and most of the time that address is not used once that person sold the tokens. So in other hand its a waste of address space. Is there any way to utilize this problem or already does such a process is running?

The wallets to which the users send their tokens when they send them to the exchanges are not under the users control but under the exchanges control. Users only manage their usernames and passwords.
358  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to deal with Token Spam on: July 04, 2018, 03:50:57 PM
Some of you may have noticed a bunch of tokens appearing in your Ethereum Wallet in the last couple of days that you have no idea where they came from. In my case it was  tokens for IFOOD, FRES, LXT, DAG, ARP, EES, NC & LET. When people send me token spam my standard response is to report them to Etherscan as a spam token. If you have received unsolicited tokens you should also report them as this is the only we can stop what is now a nuisance from becoming a plague.
It can't be reported and it will be exist in the blockchain. I doubt that etherscan will give a feedback for your report. The only thing i will do to send them all to the default wallet and it can decrease their supply. But this will not help a lot but at least this is my effort to not keep shit token in my wallet.

Following that strategy I'm afraid that you will run out of ETH very soon. At the end, the best thing you can do is leave those tokens in your wallet and forget about them, unless someday they become valuable.
359  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance's policy after the SYS incident was exploited by hackers on: July 04, 2018, 03:04:25 PM
Binance are a role model in next generation exchange. They redefined what a exchange is and they are raising their limits everyday.
There were days of exchanges like mt.gox, mintpal, poloneix, yobit and bittrex. Now they look like rudiments.

Before, there was much less competition, there were hardly a couple of exchanges, now the competition is much higher, not only because of the large number of exchanges that exist now, but also because other exchange models are emerging, such as decentralized and hybrid ones. To this we must add that now they are being more controlled by the regulators and users themselves are more demanding.
360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EU Report Says Cryptocurrencies 'Unlikely' to Challenge Central Banks on: July 02, 2018, 09:58:38 AM
It's clear that at this moment cryptos are not a threat to them and will hardly be in the future, but that is not their mission either. I think the report is quite interesting, especially when it comes to defining cryptocurrencies and the role they can play in the future.
