341  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Analysis and list of top big blocks shills (XT #REKT ignorers) on: January 18, 2016, 12:12:09 AM
He is not even an active contributor to core code. I did never understand why he pretents he's a speaker for core.

meh, he is trying to put out fires all over the place. They are way over schedule with their LN plans ( as in nothing works yet) and I'd say gregory maxwell probably got the blame for that - hence why we dont hear from him. I'd say if he cant convince his backers on Monday morning that he has a workable plan to counter Classic he could be in real trouble. His rather weak effort to misrepresent the f2pool announcement makes me think he is out of ideas.

He is really clutching at straws - he is even quoting that half baked Cohen article on Hearne, as if its credible.

what a day. Just heard a rumour that Blockstream may be having their next tranche of funding cancelled, and then I almost die laughing at brg444 on his knees begging chinese miners to stay with core...

And I mean BEGGING...

SW, at it's theoretical maximum, will force you to transmit 4MB worth of data for only a 1.75MB maximum gain in tx's and associated fees.  how does that help you vs a simple blocksize increase to 4MB worth of pure tx's and fees?

This is a complete lie and misfabrication.

macbook-air please, if you are wang chun, do consult with the Core devs.

Segwit is the most responsible way to end this dead lock for now and will provide for ample time and headroom to optimize the propagation problems so that a 2MB hard fork may go through with absolute network consensus down the road.

There is still clear dissent amongst users about a contentious hard fork and while miners may agree it would create a bad precedent for you to force this on the community.

(of course he starts off begging, but then just straight up threatens them!!  lolz  Grin Grin Grin )

p.s. whats a 'misfabrication'? Is that like a double negative - so its the truth  Huh
343  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BLOCKSTREAM Appreciation Thread on: January 17, 2016, 04:18:10 PM
Hi, I'm Adam Back.

I have a Ph.D. and invented Bitcoins proof of work system. Satoshi probably ran away like a little pussy because he was afraid I would sue him for stealing my work. As such, Bitcoin belongs to me and I can do whatever I want to do with it. If you all don't like blockstream and my new direction for Bitcoin then you can suck my ass with a straw.

Thank you,

The real creator of Bitcoin.

Dear Adam,

I know you like to frame yourself now as the founder of bitcoin. But we both know that is not true. You took your hashcash idea and turned it into a failed email spam blocker. But I took hashcash and used it as the foundation of an P2P electronic cash system, which 7 years later is used by millions and has a market cap of $6.5Bn.

I understand your utter frustration at this. But you have to let it go. Raging on twittter, employing trolls, condoning criminal DDOS attacks and subverting my original vision will not bring you any joy. I designed bitcoin to resist such acts of small mindedness in a transparent and unyielding fashion - the majority will decide which way they want to go.

Again, let me say how sorry I am for your lack of vision.

hugs & cuddles

Satoshi.

Who cares about blockstream?

God Lord, Now they are throwing blockstream under the bus!!  Bite the hand that feeds much?   Grin

sAt0sHiFanClub - Without meaning to seem rude, you're coming across as a bit of a shill. Paid by any chance are you? This is the price speculation thread bro!

There are plenty of altcoin, Gavinista, big block, Hearn loving threads without desecrating this one too.

What? And not give you an opportunity to boost your penny ad-sig campaign with mindless, pointless interjections?

Not being rude - like.

Like I said, I hope you're being paid for your bigger block cheer leading. It'd be an awful waste of time & effort otherwise because we all know that every altcoin type of proposal gets hit out of the park. It'd be nice if you were getting paid for it - 'like'.

Thats lambie's gavinista alt account. Put him on ignore for a long time now. All his stupid accounts for that matter.

Now that is a whiny article. OK - you dont like Hearne, we get it. But dont pretend to pull apart his arguments and then..... dont pull apart his arguments. He just tells us what segwit is ( we know...) and dismisses the accounting trick claim with a dismissive "whatever that is"...  Well? What is it?

And then a little ramble about gmax's bitcoin-cant-work thesis - claiming that he didnt really mean it. Ha!

I think he just got bored at that point and gave up. Good call.

Theymos has censored this again, moved off to the alt coin wilderness.

I personally think this is good news.  Theymos has obviously seen the light.  He's taken a thread titled and talking about Bitcoin Core, and moved it to the Altcoins board.  Pretty soon he'll have to move all the soon-to-be-defunct Bitcoin Core discussion to Altcoin status.  Although more likely is Deadend Chain Coin status.  RIP.

Classic isn't even released yet and almost 75% is already lined up in support.  It is possible that this thing is over almost as fast as it begins.   And my bet is that almost everyone jumps to the Classic Chain within hours of the 75% trigger.

However, my guess is also that the bitter weasels of Blockstream/Core are frantically coding timebombs to try and wage a scorched earth war.  You can already see how petty they are acting trying to disrupt Classic discussion.

This is why everyone needs to be ready to Download Classic Nodes as soon as available.  Classic needs to Roll Out like a Crushing Tidalwave to remove ALL Public Doubt that the Bitcoin Community is totally in support of Classic.

No Complacency.  DO not doubt for a second that the Fork will be met with a furious FUD, DDOS, Doublespend Attempt series of attacks.   The second the Classic Download Button goes active - it is All Hands On Deck!   There will be a very short but intense war.

Good spot, I never looked at it that way!!  Cheesy

Way to go Theymos, you are certainly on the ball.
351  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 16, 2016, 11:06:21 PM

Wrong. They are precisely not like him in that they have personalities that actually prefer to avoid attention/conflict and write code (use technology) to solve problems instead of spending years plotting social attacks, relishing the arguments/conflict and sociopathic leadership 'coups' by fostering dissent and division (ahead of roll-up your sleeves and lead by example).

All of the Core coders left after this HearnAndresen saga are the true technologists who are the best to be working on infrastructure, they will not sugar-coat the technical limitations or BS for managementspeak.

PS: stop trolling when you've become transparent.

Core devs "prefer to avoid attention/conflict "....   And you say this with no sense of shame or ironey, eh?  Weare where we are because of their need for  attention/conflict.

Even now, they are busier trolling Classic forums than they are doing the job they signed up to do.  And I'm only talking about a select clique - the really self important ones..  Grin

352  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Blocksize needs to be increased now. on: January 16, 2016, 10:28:36 PM
core with segwit is still fantasyware - they are testing it, yes, but there is a long way to go before even the most reckless development manager would consider it production ready.  The market wants commitment on capacity now, not a vague, ever shifting promise of it in the future.

That is the essential difference between classic and core ( + whatever dream additions you like)

How is it possible that segwit is being tested if it is "fantasyware?"

Oh I see, you are defining anything not yet in production as "fantasyware."

How typically dishonest of you.

When _Classic launches 2MB blocks, the "fantasyware" now being tested will come in handy, as _Classic is immediately softforked with 2MB+8MB segwit blocks (which will create a support/logistical nightmare for anyone brave enough to be among the first defectors from Core's socioeconomic majority.

Sorry, took me a minute to cut through your #CORERAGE to find the half arsed point you were half way making.

I'm assuming your distress is from coming out of your local PC World and not having found a shrink wrapped, shiny boxed copy of Bitcoin Classic? Oh dear, I am sorry. But you see in grown up OS world, things work a little differently. I could explain that to you, but we both know that would be a waste of time.

So, instead, please accept this picture of a kitten. Ive dressed it up a bit, coz I know what you like....

353  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavineries on: January 16, 2016, 10:19:56 PM

....  irrelevant shit

#CORERAGE

Are you pissed off coz its a scam that you weren't involved with?
354  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Analysis and list of top big blocks shills (XT #REKT ignorers) on: January 16, 2016, 10:09:52 PM

When they realize they are painting the Bikeshed from Hell, we can start laughing as _Classic gets #REKT.   Smiley

Here we go:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1330351.new#new

Theymos has censored this again, moved off to the alt coin wilderness.

But while last week I would have been mildly annoyed, now it seems about as worthwhile as trying to turn back the tide with a spoon.

but best not to start threads like that - they serve no purpose, and just drag you down to the level of brg and miceBreaker
355  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Analysis and list of top big blocks shills (XT #REKT ignorers) on: January 16, 2016, 10:03:43 PM
This was an execllent thread, but fees a bit like beating a dead horse at this point. This trojan was a failure, next is Bitcoin Classic. I can't wait for the next Classic #REKT thread.

We're all giddy with anticipation for that.

But first, Team _Classic have to implode from irreconcilable differences of opinion with regard to their hard fork's timing/threshold and inclusion/exclusion of controversial features like bandwidth throttling, CLTV, RBF, SegWit, Lightning, sidechains, future increases, etc.

The Tooministas are still enjoying their honeymoon.  Give them a few weeks for the grim realities of software engineering and committee-based decision making to throw a wrench in their gears.

When they realize they are painting the Bikeshed from Hell, we can start laughing as _Classic gets #REKT.   Smiley

So all development work has stopped on Core. How does that make you feel now, miCEBREAKER?  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

You assholes are too busy trolling Classic forum to fix the god awful mess that you made of rbf!!
Then we have Luke-jesus submitting a PR to change POW.  Is there any depth you mpfags wont sink to?

Your obvious #CORERAGE is giving me wood......     Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue

356  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Analysis and list of top big blocks shills (XT #REKT ignorers) on: January 16, 2016, 06:55:53 PM
So a legit proposal equals to him trolling them? Makes sense.

changing POW is a legit proposal? How?  Why?

He submits a PR with a vague title like "Fix mining centralisation"

then lands the bombshell of HOW he wants to do it?

thats a pretty low rent effort.

Changing _Classic's ... [garbage]

_Classic is a politically motivated governance coup, which risks (or arguably entails) catastrophic consensus failure just to satisfy the egos of the Get Thermos Kill Blockstream Emasculate Mircea Destroy Core malcontents.

We still need to do this? Why wasn't I cc'ed on that memo?  Wink

Your POW bluff is just so shit. I think evenings spent frapping to nude 'shopped photos of Marine Le Penn has dulled your brain.

pro-tip: get real ones of her Mom - now they are hot!!   Tongue
357  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stupid question - Why don't we just compress the blocks? on: January 16, 2016, 05:14:50 PM

And video compression is typically lossy. Lossy would never work for the blockchain.

Lossy would better describe MtGox and Cryptsy, amirite?   Grin
358  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Analysis and list of top big blocks shills (XT #REKT ignorers) on: January 16, 2016, 05:08:31 PM
I know by fact that the current bitcoin protocol by which I abided and invested was the one not allowing on chain mass adoption scaling coffee tipping bullshit whilst staying in the reach of low technology hardware so everybody got their access to it.

You should have read the contract whitepaper before signing it.

There was no mention of a block size limit there.  There was no mention of transactions piling up in a queue, fighting with each other through "smart" fee estimation algorithms and RBFs. On the contrary, it was assumed that miners would confirm, into the next block, every transaction that paid a fee sufficient to make that worthwhile.

More importantly, there was no mention of a clique of developers having control of the protocol and deciding what the miners should do.  According to the protocol, the only players that have any power over the system are the miners (which Satoshi called "nodes"), who vote with their hashing power.  And this is not an accident, but an essential feature of the design, that no one knows how to change without breaking it.

Granted, Satoshi did not foresee that 70% of the mining would be concentrated into 4 Chinese companies. Raising the block size limit and letting the miners decide the fees, while conceptually the right thing to do, will not work in that context. However, the concentration of mining, by itself, already means bitcoin is broken.

Basically, the block size war is like a dispute among pilot and co-pilot about whether the plane that ran out of fuel in mid-Atlantic should be flown normally or upside-down while it falls.

Read again. I said CURRENT BITCOIN PROTOCOL. not WP.

But whatever, troll.

I think you are confusing reality with whats in your head again...

360  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 16, 2016, 03:26:13 PM
There was a spoofed message sent to the linuxfoundation mailing list that looked like it was sent by Satoshi through vistomail.com saying that Satoshi was not Craig Wright.
Theymos proved it was spoofed by checking where it really came from. I don't know how theymos did it, but couldn't he also check whether the Satoshi mail we are discussing is spoofed?

Of course he could.

But since the narrative of the message aligned with his own and with plenty of gullible salvationists like Alex hanging on his every word - why would he?
