Just a couple more questions to make sure that I got everything down for this coin. What are stormnodes? Are they like masternodes? And if so what is the requirement to have a stormnode? Next is the POS static reward of only 1 coin per block now? And is this coin only POS now or is there still POW going on for it? If someone could help me out with these questions that would be awesome ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Cheers 1) Yes, they are the same, except that DarkSilk StormNodes ACTUALLY HELP in the anonymization and ACUTALLY gives proper payments 2) The coin is still undergoing designing, DARKSILK IS NOT LAUNCHED MY FRIEND! WE'RE ALL LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT GLORY!!! Well what are the specs for the coin as it is right now? Like is it straight POS or is it POW/POS? What is the % reward for staking right now and all that jazz? I only ask all this because I couldn't really find that information in the OP really standing out there to read 1 DRKSLK PoS Reward Mon! (day) Static PoS set for 4 DRKSLK per block Block time expected to be 64 sec Static PoS set for 2 SLK per block Block time expected to be 64 sec DRKSLK will have sandstorm, stormnodes, instantX. Sandstorm is a completely trustless solution, where users can achieve a high level of anonymity. By utilising the Stormnode network, users are able to send and receive instant irreversible transactions through InstantX. Right now only SLK can be bought on the exchanges, it has a 2% inflation rate PoS. These Silk will we swapped at a later point through something called the weaver because SLK is switching to the new DRKSLK codebase. This means that all SLKholders will need to swap their coins for new.SLK in the very near future. I myself see DRKSLK as the gasoline in the system, while SLK is the engine oil. Both DRKSLK and SLK will be fundamental to the Silk Network, both a great investment oppertunity. DRKSLK once it is released, SLK right now. Welcome aboard ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif)

Just so people know what will happen in terms of launch: Weaver with the Silkcoin(SILK) to Silk(SLK) swap will launch along with the new Silk. At the same time DarkSilk will enter prelaunch. 30 days later the old Silkcoin(SILK) will be removed from exchanges and replaced with the new Silk(SLK). At the same time, all the features of Weaver will unlock and become available, along with DarkSilk launching. Phase 1 of the DarkSilk/Weaver crowdfunding will then begin, details will be released for this in the prelaunch phase of DarkSilk. Oh and Silkcoin(SILK) addresses will be snapshotted along with their balances just prior to the swap starting. This means any purchases or SILK mined after the snapshot will be worthless, WORTHLESS I tell thee ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Does that mean if I leave my Silkcoin on the exchanges it will automatically be converted to the new Silkcoin (SLK)? Thanks! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) No, because the swap is taking place on Weaver. You will need to withdraw your Silkcoin(SILK) from the exchange, login to Weaver and swap. Sounds good. Thanks for the clarification. This project seems to be shaping into something great. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I have to agree, this could in the top 10 on coimarketcap, wish I got here earlier, glad i'm here now though. Are you f*kin kidding me? We'll be in the top 5 Sorry for corase sentence I'm gonna hold you to that. truth to be told, our aim for DarkSilk should be nothing less in the long term this coin has something different to bring to the table in combination with Silk

The 'Silk Road' or 'Silk Route' is an ancient network of trade and cultural transmission routes... during various periods of time.[1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silk_RoadA Merchant riding a camel suits the network. The network carries SLK/DRKSLK currencies or 'coins'. Different entities, different imagery, I see no problem.

The new Silkcoin is ready. Graphic designer is back over tonight to work on the logos again, a reworking. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FXInQVjv.png&t=663&c=TOkLI2Nn9ykqsw) New genesis for mainnet, testnet and regtest. Alert Pubkey in place and I am the sole holder of this key. I will be able to broadcast messages directly to the wallets to inform users to update if and when the need arises. Nice and clean ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

maybe you should add a richlist to bloodcoin.cc
after the next BTC bull-run some interest might flow into this coin. if this happens you might gain a community to move forward. it is good to have a richlist beforehand.

Hi Spencer ,
So current SILK holders will have no stake at all in DRKSLK? I was under the impression that we somehow would be able to swap and join the new project. So apart from the new fixes in sync and improvements in security, which we appreciate, how would SILK holders benefit from the launch and coexistence with DRKSLK? It would be great if you could clarify this.
Thanks in advance.
Although i'm very interested in DRKSLK the bulk of my assets will remain in SLK. I am very confident that SLK will flourish right beside DRKSLK. Not as just a seperate entity, but as an integral part of the whole system. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FrKWzfWb.png&t=663&c=hlcB7tULpF_MvQ) ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FWFQmUVP.png&t=663&c=u3uKNUB-QL93rg) What are peoples thoughts on the new Silkcoin and DarkSilk logos? Could work very well as shortcut icons. Maybe a little animation to go along with it. Overal good first iteration for coin logos.

Thanks!
Also is the swap period forever, or is it a limited time frame type of thing?
The future is not set, what is important is that there will be a swap period. The outset is that there will be two mature coins. For now it is best that core development proceeds.

Masternodes perform incentivized services on a 2nd network layer, they mix coins, vote on proposals, run multisig and run services like exchanges/instant transactions. That is of course if theyre being used for function and not perceptual price propping. Weaver and the slush fund can probably be effectively handled by masternodes(although i still have little to no idea what weaver actually is).
And this system you're talking about above sounds more akin to the way shadowtokens work; shadowcash is the main layer, shadowtokens are exponentially created by swapping shadowcash for shadowtokens. They can be swapped back at any time, but i dont think shadowtokens are destroyed ever, havent checked out the project in a few months.
Thats the way i understand it anyway, i may have gotten things slanted. And i agree that full staking should be default.
Thats cool, then they are on the right track. The most important thing is the inductor, or slush fund. Without it price will still go perpetually downwards, with the exception of hyped pumps. Next to that is the weaver, from what I know of it, it will give Silk the competitive advantage.

Ok guys, I'm not good in terms of dev speaking but I kind of see what are we talking about here.
The project looks really good but still we need to find a new thing, let's call it a killer app that will distinguish us from the rest.
Even though, the weaver might be it...
In my eyes the weaver will be it. It will make something possible that has never been done before in crypto, not even BTC; store value ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Next to that it is up to the community to find ways to spend/use a coin of value.

Really good stuff man. Thats funny about other cryptos "short circuiting" haha it makes sense!
How would we determine the conversion rate to drkslk? And drkslk would have to have an infinite supply?
Essentially DarkSilk and Silk are the same for user experience, so 1:1 would be ideal I think. Conversion rate of other coins through the weaver should be weighed in Silk. DarkSilk supply approaches infinity yes, or should atleast outpace possible influx.
