341  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou - March 9 on: March 09, 2024, 11:26:08 AM
All I can say is that AJ shocked the world today. Few believed in him, but he managed to finish the fight completely opposite to what everyone expected.

Maybe few in here, but all over the world, we know AJ is expected to win. We go the betting odds as a proof that he is favored.

On odds like these :

Quote
On fight day, BetMGM Sportsbook had Joshua as a -300 favorite with 53% of the handle. Ngannou was +240.
https://www.forbes.com/betting/boxing/what-are-the-odds-for-ngannou-vs-joshua-fight/

That pretty much says it all, AJ was heavily favored and majority of the bettors aren't wrong.

That was a big win by AJ, that means Ngannou is not fit in boxing, he should go back to UFC.

Also, AJ proved that he is once again ready for a championship fight.
342  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 08, 2024, 03:08:42 PM
... will be taking a parlay on the moneyline.
Unfortunately Phoenix fall short int he last quarter. You can see the rust in the game since they are outscored in the first quarter, slowly they made an adjustment until the 4th quarter but still fall by 4 points. Parlay is dead, you need to come back in the 2nd game, double or nothing? Smiley
That's the game for parlay, you missed one you lose the bet. But the good thing is you don't need to bet big to win big, but the risk is high and the chances are low. You need to be lucky to win, and for me, I'm not doing parlay on a regular basis, I'm more focus on one bet with the spread, just like how serious gamblers are doing.

I think It will be Ginebra winning the 2nd game, they are -5.5 now, hopefully they'll dominate for an easy win. I might just wait for the live betting here, it's hard to trust nowadays, you know it's PBA, nothing is impossible, even bad teams could look good.
Ginebra wins the game but they just did enough to cover the spread since they won by 6 points. I hope bettors does not experiment by incresing spread for better payout as -6.5 means a losing bet.

Malonzo the contoversial guy led the Ginebra on this win with 32 points. big game for him.
343  Other / Off-topic / Re: Dont chase your loss on: March 08, 2024, 03:01:02 AM
It would really be that so normal that a human being would really be chasing up their loses on which trying out to break it even and this is something a very normal situation.
The only thing that you should really be having in mind on such situation is that you should really be that doing gambling on a responsible manner plus having that good
control and moderation on which you wouldnt really be ending up with these type of conditions.

But gambling is not a business where you can calculate losses and try to catch up. In gambling you have the opportunity to win and lose and there are no calculations and theories to win every bet. I mean if you try to chase defeat, chances are you will experience defeat again. No one can predict when you will win at gambling. This will actually make you lose even more. I think victory for those who have lost is to stop chasing their losses and try to enjoy the game with small stakes. Those who chase losses are people who think they can use gambling as a source of income. Because I have friends who think like that.

That kind of argument will not work if you would argue with professional gamblers where they believe on their skills, they can calculate or analyze what they are doing to win. Calculation doesn't work on games with house edge because eventually gamblers will lose in the long run. However, with the games that is based on skills, it's very crucial to have a winning strategy and it's possible to have one.

At the end of the game, it still depend on how you see gambling, if in the first place you'll see it as an entertainment where you think you don't have a chance to win in the long run, then you'll always think it cannot be a source of income to you.

Scams exist in the crypto market irrespective of bull or bear market but most of the newbies enter the market in the bull season which could be the reason why the number of scams is high during the bull run. The friendly remainder is going to be effective, I don't think so because the people who really do their research before risking their money will be cautious and one who just blindly jumps in will learn the lesson in hard ways.
I guess where there are newbies, scammers also take advantage. But I guess within this bullish market, scammers are not only eyeing for newbies but certainly for all investors out there most especially for those who are motivated with their greed. Learn to invest only on the amount you can afford to lose, as much as sell only when you think there is a deep reason to sell. That way, scammers won’t find any holes that will lead them to scam us, and most importantly, while this is the season for profits, protect your wallet 24/7 so that scammers won’t find means to steal our coins from its storage.
345  Economy / Economics / Re: How can it be possible coping with one source of income on: March 07, 2024, 09:44:39 PM
Through out last year I find it hard to get things done with funds despite how my earning was and I find it hard to spend more on my bills around me , though I have been seeing some humans earning and paying bills with one source of income and I do ask myself how is it done

please your advice will be of help

Only having a single source of income is not a good idea. There are no sure things in life, and a job is exactly one of those unsure things. It does not matter whether you work in a company for 30 years and have an amazing track record. The company will lay you off, if they have a crappy management. Sometimes even if they have a good management. You can never know.

The best insurance is getting multiple income sources, so if one goes bad, you won't be left desperate.
Its fine if you only have a single job but have multi investments that are generating decent profits. That way, even if you lost your job in the future, at least you will not struggle in your finances. However, if you only rely on a single job without having other sources of income, and have not made any investments at all, well that’s a very terrible case. You have to save a lot while working so you can invest in the future, like having bitcoin investment as your retirement.
346  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does any meme coin has the ability to challenge bitcoin dominance ? on: March 07, 2024, 08:54:50 PM
In last one week, coins like pepe rose by 400% or more. There were other meme coins like dogecoin and shiba inu also growing fast. Lot of bitcoin users would now feel tempted to move their funds to these meme coins for higher profit. At such, do you think that any meme coin has the capacity to challenge bitcoin dominance ?
You have to compare the fundamentals of Bitcoin to the fundamentals of PEPE and you'll find that there are too many reasons to stick with Bitcoin and avoid pepe. Bitcoin has strong fundamentals, it's the most popular currency with the highest marketcap, is decentralized, p2p payment solution, cryptographic, you can store it in your software and hardware wallet, basically you are the bank. Pepe is a coin that has no fundamentals and is 100% a hype-based project. People buy pepe because it's a meme coin and people love speculation with meme coins. It's a very risky coin, you have to be lucky, you risk a lot when you buy it.
Compare its individual utilities, if you think this pepe coin has outsmarted bitcoin, then expect that a lot of investors will get tempted to invest into this meme coin. But I don’t think any meme coin will break the record of bitcoin as meme coins are known to be hype-based only and eventually lost its own value in the long run. Unlike bitcoin where it has been dominating already for over a decade and until now, it’s still bitcoin that is leading the crypto market and any coin that challenges bitcoin only end up as a failure.
347  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Take Profits! Its important! on: March 07, 2024, 06:59:19 PM
I've seen this happening each cycle.

We all need to understand that 1st priority in crypto is surviving. Profits are in 2nd place. Yes that sounds counterintuitive, but it's really simple. The real skill is not in making money. The real skill is in keeping it.

I hope you found this useful. Keep up the flow, and may the force be with you.

You shouldn’t invest money if your priority is keeping it. Just put in the bank and wait for the annual income if your goal is survival of your asset rather than profit.

You should invest only what you can afford to lose so that you are free to take necessary risk to make profit. Taking profit is always a good idea since any form of profit is good. But your suggestion of prioritizing the safety of your asset first before the profit will just limit your earning potential since you will keep early selling when there’s price volatility that is normal in crypto.
Invest to make profits, not to safekeep your future profits. Otherwise, you will definitely keep missing opportunities to make profits because you are being greedy while waiting for the perfect opportunity to sell until you end up selling at a loss. I have been doing this way back then but I have only made little profits and the rest are just missed profits. So I don’t want to repeat the same mistake again most particularly that the market is unpredictable. Sell when there are potential profits, hold when there’s still none.
348  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Risking 1% in Gambling on: March 07, 2024, 05:26:43 AM
This is a useful strategy to help manage risk and avoid losing large amounts of money. By betting only 1%, you can ensure that you are not putting all of your eggs in one basket, you are not putting too much in any one bet, and you can play more games over time, making it more enjoyable and sustainable.
Relaxed and employed a solid game strategy because it's going to be acquainted with massive profits. There's no means available to start risky everything in the system, for what exactly? I've been calmed this whole while and taking upon myself to become very useful when it comes to gambling, staking 1% doesn't seem to be something we all should be bother about? That's the only safer ground we can embodied the system and techniques to get involved. Gambling is not for the weak, steadily grinding for relevant odds in the system is not an easy tasks accomplished and the continuous process.
This is totally true, gambling is not for the weak if we want to succeed by making ourselves profitable. The main reason why most of us gamblers losses is beacuse we don't consider gambling a serious venture, because if we consider it serious, we will make sure we treat it like a business that we will make a strategy, make adjustments until it will become working.

Slowly but surely, that should be the best strategy, and since most of us want an instant profit, that's why we easily fall to the hole. It's the sad truth but the reality, and casinos will always see that as an opportunity to maximize their income.
349  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 07, 2024, 04:53:40 AM
Tomorrow, another familiar teams will be facing.

In the first game, it's Bossing vs Converge, and the second game is Bolts vs NLEX. This is looking like teams have been shortened in numbers. I hope these times are not yet tired for playing a lot while other teams are still resting. Since we've seen them play in the past few days, then I think it would be easier to select the winner, or the trend will continue, which is one team is down big time in the first half, but they will have a big run in the 2nd half to win the game.

The first game has been concluded and Northport beat Converge. Now the 2nd game has just started, NLEX vs Bolts, I think i'm going for NLEX here as I like them not a lot of hesitation, if they are shooting well especially from the outside, this should be an easy win for them. I'm wondering why they are heavily underdog, currently at +5.5, but it doesn't matter I'm still gonna take the moneyline.

Very accurate pick because NLEX won by 3 points. Bollick again is their best player contributing 26 points and lead the team in the 4th quarter big run. This team is quite exciting to watch, they also play some good defense as they were able to limit the Bolts to below 100 points. On the other team, Newsome had 22 points, but he miss the last shot to bring the game to OT. Congratulations again mate.

They key is bet on the underdog as they have been winning recently. Meralco have lost 2 times already against an underdog team, so you can't trust them anymore if you are expecting a consistency. The last 2 games it was Maliksi who was their top scorer, now it was Newsome but made a lot of mistakes down the stretch especially in the 4th quarter.
That's why there's a rumo that Newsome will be traded... can they consider maybe changing their coach?
I mean, Newsome has been playing well during the time of Norman block, he might not be an explosive player in the offense but his defense makes this team still a dangerous team. Still remember when they reach in the Finals? That was when Durham was their import.. So with good import, and a good coach, there's no reason this team will be in the championship competition again.

Since Luigi Trillo stepped in as the coach of this team, they are not the same anymore. I think Norman Black was really the right man to coach this team.

According to the report, Normam Black has already become a consultant, so he still have say with the new coach. Probably he is still under evaluation and if Meralco will continue to struggle, we might know the consequences on that.

351  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is that one reason that motivates you to invest in bitcoin even at ATH ? on: March 06, 2024, 10:53:58 PM
Those others who buy at this rate are those who only believe when the price still rises and the evidence right now is in front of their eyes which leads them to buy bitcoins even if the price is quite high, they just need to act quickly because it won't just gonna stop there for a few days from now since it's already gathered more hyped, it will surely increase and will gonna rise even more and from that day forward, investors will flock all around the world to get themselves some bitcoins for yet once again, we will gonna surely witness a new ATH on bitcoins price.
Yes, it’s actually the faith you have for bitcoin that it will definitely not stop with the current price but will continue to rise more in the market most especially that we are fast heading to bitcoin halving and bull run. For me, I don’t really care even I started investing in bitcoin at its higher price, because I’m not here to just buy and sell for quick profits, but I believe bitcoin is for long term so one must hold it for 5-10 years in order to gain maximum profits.

However, others may be entering the market too because they have plans to buy when a new all time high comes. So they will still sell in profits which I think the most important here.

353  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: March 06, 2024, 11:44:21 AM
......no Donovan Mitchell, so it should be easy double digit win.

This kind of expectation hasn't been happening for games like this in this season. We should be more careful with betting against a team that does not have best player as most of the time they'll cover the spread, and if they got lucky they can win the game. Happened many times already, but you are right, that was a total collapse for the Celtics, they have been dominant but that kind of scenario cannot happen again otherwise, it will be exploited.

So now, this championship team that we are seeing still has its weakness, they loss two times already against a team that have miss their best player/s.
354  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Or Investing which one is better to focus on right now? on: March 05, 2024, 09:59:32 PM
I want to know what guys do. Are some of you trading the market regardless or some of you are like me, investing and observing the market
Trading has those who are into it daily, and those that invest for a short time. I see all of them as traders, because the risk of running at loss is very high. My bitcoin is very precious to me, and I work hard to buy them, so I am just hodling and investing using regular DCA to increase my bitcoin portfolio because I have a bitcoin target which I am focus on achieving.

I don't trade, because trading is a distraction to holders, and people that cannot be patient with their bitcoin hodling are the one that do think that trading is the best way of making profit. Whereas, it is the fastest means to lose your bitcoin. I don't have the skill to trade, and trading very complex to learn all of it in a short period of time. The bullrun is drawing nearer, and hodli is the best anyone can think of now, because you will be more profitable when bitcoin hits a 100k
Its okay to trade if you are capable to make it work, but if you are only trading for quick profits without even learning its basics, I suggest focus more on investing. Right now, I see there are bigger opportunities waiting ahead of you never stop buying and hodling, simply because bitcoin halving and bitcoin bull run are just around the corner. We might be seeing new all time high soon so DCA would be the best thing for now.

However, while you are trying to accumulate more coins, learn to study trading as well. Because admit it or not, soon we will be force to trade as well so we can experience the profits from our investment. We won’t be buying and hodling forever, trading is also vital so as much as possible learn to trade early and learn from the experience of early traders in the market.

356  Other / Archival / Re: Are investors investing in Bitcoin at ATH now are fools ? on: March 04, 2024, 10:18:59 PM
Bitcoin investors won't fool me anyway until they hold. Let's say someone bought the last ATH; currently, Bitcoin is almost passing the previous ATH and is going to make a new record. So those who have held on to their investments can still profit. So how should we consider them fools? If they sold at a loss, then it is reasonable to call them a fool. We don't know where the new ATH will be hit and start dumping, so DCA would be a better option for us.
Bitcoin investors won’t end up being fool even if they start investing at an ATH price. As long as they won’t sell immediately but will execute more patience and hold the coins like couple of years until a new ATH will hit the market, then they wouldn’t be at loss. And no one will probably know when a new ATH will enter the market so buying at the current price is still a good buy. Although it’s highly risky but we all know it would still be worth doing as long as we know exactly what we are doing. Just buy and hold, and sell when you think every coin is worth selling.
357  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 02, 2024, 01:14:02 PM
West in tough for the Warriors, they might not even get pass the Kings if they will face them again in the playoff. Although they win again, it's going to be a lot of effort for them to land in the top 6 now.

Wiggins seems to be out again, Moody as replacement is good but can they sustain it? Again, I think something is missing with the Warriors right now. Maybe it was Klay scoring output, or Looney not asserting himself in the middle as he used to with double rebounds every game and then manning the middle. It could be that they are playing small. But let's see, they have the championship DNA and it might carry them in the playoff again.

I don't know, but I have this feeling that the current Warriors lineup is quite better than last season. Still, it will rely on Curry; if he keeps himself healthy, then the Warriors are still a very dangerous team. Warriors vs Kings, this will be good as the last time they met, it was a 7-game series. But honestly, I think the Kings have a lack of consistency now, while the Warriors are maintaining their consistency well.

We can look at the standings, https://www.espn.ph/nba/standings

They are only at the number 9 but their last 10 games are very impessive, 8-2, while the Kings seems to be struggling with 5-5 on their last 10.
358  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Lomachenko vs. Kambosos - May 12 IBF Lightweight Title on: March 02, 2024, 11:01:28 AM
If Tank's mission for his career is to preserve his unbeaten record then I reckon that he is only in this sport to make some money for retirement. He has the talent to create a legacy, however, his motivation will stop from doing this. There are only very few fighters who will take risks to become the greatest. Pacman in boxing and Khabib in MMA are certainly my favorite choices.

Everyone though is here for the business of making big money until they retired. Floyd has set that precedent already, there could be some who chases for legacy, but majority including Tank Davis wanted to be the next Floyd. But it's hard to blame them, they can just give us the reasons that they put their lives on the line when they fight and so they deserved to be paid more.

I do agree, Pacman's mindset is different, that's why he achieved greatness even though he has a lot of lost in his record. Khabib retired undefeated, but it's more on his mentality as his father died and he can go thru MMA without his father in his corner.

Hopefully though, we can see Tank stepping his game and fighting the champion in 135 lbs like Shakur Stevenson and the winner here.

There is also Lomachenko after he gets the victory vs. George Kambosos and a rematch vs. Pitbull Cruz.
He can beat  George Kambosos for sure. But I'm unaware about the rematch vs Pitbull Cruz, because I just checked on boxrec and I haven't seen a name Pitbull Cruz being an opponent of Loma..https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/659771

After this, I reckon his body is big enough already to fight in super lightweight and fight Teo Lopez, Devin Haney. The promoters and the boxing organizations should also encourage this to keep this sport alive because boxing is almost dead.

The present situation in boxing is what we are given because everything is about money and not anymore the best boxers fighting vs. the best boxers. They are killing this sport!

He can move up if he wants, so he has a chance to avenge his loss to Haney or Teo; these two boxers beat him. It would be a significant success for him if that happens. As for now, Loma's job is just to focus in training and make sure he'll give an impressive win so it will be easy to promote a fight for him.
359  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: March 02, 2024, 10:05:05 AM
Updated record 21-22 (49%)

Back to betting.

1-GSW -4... This team needs to improve their ranking, and vs the Knicks which has been  struggling against a playoff teams, the road team should win here. I expect Thompson to contribute at least 20 points, that would be huge for the team. (WIN)

2-Suns -8.5.. Rockets are not the same team anymore when they started. If they can't win in OKC they cannot also win in Phoenix, this is another 10+ victor for the Suns.  (LOSS)

Updated record 22-23 (49%)

1-1 that day. Suns was a winner early on but then Rockets made a strong come back and Suns failed to cover the spread.

Moving on,

1- Dallas +10..as per report, Luka is questionable, but Dallas with Irving is still a good team. I think +10 is too much to be given for the playoff team like Dallas. Maybe due to the win streak of the Celtics that's why they are overvalued.

2-Warriors -3 ...No stopping for the Warriors, they need this consistent win so they'll get back to the playoff spot.
3-Clippers -15... A must win for them and I think they'll dominate here.

You nailed it right on the Warriors and Clippers, but Dallas ended up as a trap. Luka and Irving did play, but it still ended up as a blowout win by the Celtics. They won by 28 points, which is a big statement against a playoff team and clearly shows that their level now is higher than Dallas (Irving+Luka).

The Celtics utilized their consistent 3-point shooting, at 49%. Where was the defense from the outside?
360  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If everyone is holding their bitcoin, will there be a balance? on: March 01, 2024, 09:40:08 PM
Isn't it obvious?  People hold Bitcoin to get more profit.  Holding Bitcoin will temporarily make the Bitcoin market rare due to the controlled market supply but I am sure that they will sell to realized profit.
I don't like the idea of many people holding Bitcoins. Logically, it will increase the price, i.e. will result in high profit for Bitcoin holders but on another hand, you have to keep in mind that it can also have absolutely different and negative effect, people might abandon Bitcoin if it becomes hard to acquire it. I am talking about the extreme moment that OP described, i.e. the moment when almost everyone holds and people rarely sell it.
You can’t control the mindset of these people who wish to hold their coins like there’s no plan of selling. They have seen how bitcoin price can speed up its increase in just few months of holding, so how much more if they will take 5-10 years of hodling and only sell when they reach their target selling price.

But in reality, it’s rare to find people hodling their coins like 5-10 years because humans are born emotional and greedy. They can be easily tempted to sell and make good returns if they see bitcoin price has already reach its new all time high.
