341  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: New trader's must remember it. on: March 22, 2024, 02:57:21 PM
Indeed, all of it is worth remembering but unfortunately, most traders especially newcomers have seemed impossible it to work and this is because of the lack of emotional control. And this is one big factor that affects our trading journey and the most common reason why we fail. That is why we ain't see all traders who try had succeeded but instead, we see a lot (majority) had failed for some reason.

In trading, there are a lot of things to consider;
 - the way we responded on the current market situation
 - market approaches
 - mind control
 - fund management

Even the legends in trading are not actually following some of those guidelines because they create their own that work for them based on their trading experience. But if you are a beginner in the trading industry, sticking to these guidelines or reminders are crucial, not because they’re proven effective, but because these can control your losses if you trade according to these reminders listed by OP. However, they only seem hard to follow at first but eventually you get used to it if you consistently trade in the market, and even create your own that works for you.
342  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying/Selling & Using Bitcoin in El Salvador. on: March 22, 2024, 02:19:31 PM
That question can only answered by the people of El Salvador, that's the only valid answer to this question anyway. Other people that's living outside the country like me isn't going to be able to answer that, maybe those that have visited the country might be able to tell you but others would either lie or speculate about the situation, it's going to be difficult to do so OP since there's not a lot of members here that are willing to reveal that they're from El Salvador or maybe there's no people in this forum that's from El Salvador, it's a small country after all.
Absolutely. Only the residents of El Salvador can answer that and can even add more information on how they are able to utilize bitcoin at their convenience. But the fact that bitcoin has already been considered as a legal tender in El Salvador, then I’m sure that they are already using it as a payment currency on their everyday living, even though USD is their official currency. However, it’s still different when someone from El Salvador will answer that question, at least we can be sure that he’s stating based on his personal experience, and not just from his own researches.
343  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I have to hold on tight on: March 21, 2024, 11:46:23 PM
Many expect the Bitcoin price to be $100-150k higher in a bull market. If you are still holding, you are in more than 3x profit. You just hold.
Yeah, sure you told him right. Because expectations are sure that the price of bitcoin can range from 100k to 150k in this bull run without any doubt. So if OP has invested in dip and is still hodling then beyond any doubt he is in good profit and in my humble opinion, if OP holds Bitcoin more means there is a possibility of a bull run starting after Halving. so from 17k You can easily organize a 7x to 10x profit in a bull run if the price crosses 100k or 150k.

Moreover, investment in bitcoin definitely gives you a profit if you know how to hold it. If you don't panic, it means you have the ability to hodle, but Bitcion can definitely organize you for so much profit that you can't even think about it.

DYOR!
Hodling is the key. But never resort into hodling for the rest of your investment span, take time to profits as well as its crucial most especially in a highly volatile investment. However, my point is, always set your goal price to sell and stick to it even if bitcoin price has gone quite far than that. There would be no assurance that bitcoin price will stay on that price for long, so learn to take profits at some point so that you won’t be regretting later on wishing you did your part in taking your profits.
344  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Stop paying money to learn trading when you can learn it yourself on: March 21, 2024, 09:54:27 PM
Also, anyone who tells you that you can become a profitable trader in just two months is a liar. Trading takes time to be acquainted with. It takes 3-4 years before a trader can be seen as a consistent and professional trader.
I tend to agree with this, it takes years before you consider be a good trader, I wouldn't say professional because as I see, there's no professional in trading.  But it depends on your dedication to learn in trading, like any skill, becoming proficient at trading requires time and dedication.  The more time you can commit to studying and practicing trading, the faster you're likely to progress.

Yes, learning trading takes a lot of time, even couple of years until you can finally say that you’re already a good trader. But know that you can always lessen your time reading and researching about trading if you have a good and reliable mentor on one side. If you have a close friend who is into trading, then much better as you can ask for a discount and lessen your pay for him.

It’s not all the time that we get to learn all by ourselves. Trading is learned based through experiences, that’s the reason why we need to hire mentors so that we can learn and follow their good experiences in trading. Well except for fake traders as a lot of them are self-proclaimed traders found in social media.
345  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is It Time to Buy More BTC? on: March 21, 2024, 08:41:57 PM
Not as simple as you told, what if you buy at higher price and then price going lownfor several months/several years? Waiting price for going back? It easy if you spend small amount, let say below $50K. But what if you spend more than $200K
If you are afraid that you will end up going all in at the top of the cycle, then DCA is the way to go. That way you don't have to worry about the current market price and try to (naively) time it to buy at the bottom.

With that being said, its much easier said than done as many give it up in the end, or eventually go all in.
With bitcoin as a highly volatile investment, buying at a peak price may bring a lot of risk as well but if you resort into using DCA, the risk to lose might as well be lessen and controlled. Don’t rush to make profits in bitcoin because obviously, it won’t work that way. But always learn to invest it for long term, and only use an amount that you are comfortable of losing, because no matter how profitable bitcoin is, the fact that it’s a volatile one, future profits are still not certain.
346  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When is best for a player to draw the line? on: March 18, 2024, 07:47:51 PM
When do you stop?

1-when you lose?
2- when you win?
Depends on which of the two happens first. A gambler, if doesn't have one for wins, should always have a limit for their losses, and when they reach that limit, they should stop gambling immediately because if they don't, they are going to lose all they have and that isn't a good practice.

When it comes to wins, there shouldn't be a limit to that, but when you see that you have won a sum significant enough for you, you should stop gambling right there and either withdraw the funds or get the platform closed for that time because if you keep gambling after getting a win, you will eventually lose it back to the house and this happens with almost every single gambler in the industry.
Honestly, it’s seldom to see gamblers that leave the casino immediately after winning. Because what I observed is that they still try to chase their luck more hoping to get bigger profits more than their first wins, but when they start losing already, that’s the time they start leaving the casino before all those profits will return back to the house.

Gambling gets fun when you are making more money, but the fun will start to vanish when you are losing already. So my point is, don’t wait for a chance to see your happiness vanishes, when you win a big, significant amount then go home immediately. Never gamble again, as there are high chances already that your luck has gone out and all you’ll experience are now pure losses.
347  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake and Bruno Mars An Example of How Gambling Addiction Can Affect Anyone on: March 18, 2024, 07:17:04 PM
Music industry people are the most weird bunch of all celebrities out there. They are the maximum number of mentally ill among celebs in my opinion and gambling, drugs, alcohol are like daily necessities there without which there is no "glam". Eventually the long term effects start showing off - in this case it's gambling debt, for others it might be a health issue or a overdose leading to hospitalization.

Indeed not being a responsible gambler will lead to this type of situation even for a somewhat rich musician.
Rich people are not excused from gambling addiction. In fact, they are more prone to any type of addiction, whether in gambling, drugs or in alcohol. However, there are gambling addicts that can still manage their expenses most particularly in gambling and their winnings still outnumbered their losses. But in Bruno Mars case, if it’s really true that he ended up with a huge debt because of gambling, then it must be that he is expected immense gambling addiction. While it’s okay to be in debt if you are in investments, but I think as long as gambling is concerned, that would be unacceptable for everyone.
348  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 18, 2024, 07:47:22 AM
Converge is really not the same anymore ever since they let Ahamnissi ang Jeron Teng go. And there's a rumor that coach Ayo will be replace soon. I don't know if there can still make something to make this team competitive, because even if they have a good coach but the lack of quality players is the major problem I see in this team.

I agree with the post above that Converge being competitive can only be seen in import conferences (Governors & Commissioners). Their previous hired imports in the history of the franchise were solid and caliber imports such as Tom Vodanovich, Jamaal Franklin, and Quincy Miller.

And no, Converge does anything to keep Ahamnissi but since the latter is an unrestricted free agent, he can go and sign with whatever team he wants as his target but unfortunately, Converge doesn't seem the team he wants to stay with. But Converge needs to move forward.

That's what I like about the whole PBA Converge team from executives, managers, staff, etc. that they don't want to give baby treatment to anyone. If they think the player is not happy with them despite that they can match good offers from other teams, they will let go of that player. As for Coach Ayo, he also has the guts to tell their imports to always try to associate with the locals like what he did to Jamaal Franklin that known for ball hogging.

It always comes with a price, and I think coverge could not afford quality players that's why they are just keeping the players that are still in contract, but when they also become free agent too, they could leave and play with SMB, Ginebra or TNT, and will become worst for Converge. If they like to be competitive, they should consider giving offers that are hard to resist, I don't know the exact figures we are talking but that was the rumors I read.

Ahamnissi and Teng probably want a championship, but the price is right, they might stay. Or maybe if they are really serious, they could get a quality player like Mikey Williams, this guy has a big demand but could help a team to improve.
349  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 18, 2024, 06:09:45 AM
@FinneysTrueVision. Is this fight for Pacman a comeback fight or is this only an exhibition? He is 45 years old already, will he fight again if he wins against Conor Benn? This will be headshaking, however, I will certainly watch these fights hehee.

On Anthony Joshua, presently it appears much of the fans of boxing are speculating a fight between him and Tyson Fury. But would it not be much better if he should challenge Oleksandr Usyk again? I reckon this new Joshua might knockout Usyk. Ben Davison appears to have made Anthony Joshua discover something from himself.

Pacman could be interested with the belt so probably it's not an exhibition. But how could he get a championship if he is not anymore active, I mean,I thought they will base on the ranking not on the popularity? I'm not really sure if this rumors are but in case Pacman will comeback, I'm sure that will create a lot of hype and people will surely watch it.

What about the rumor beween Pacman and Mayweather, I thought it will happen this May?
350  Other / Meta / Re: I need a glue on how to get merit on: March 17, 2024, 09:38:49 PM
Joining Bitcoin talk is one of the best thing that has ever happen in my life. It's like a school to me which enable me to be learning new things on daily basis and it has helped me to enhance my writing, reading and understanding skills and also meeting and learning from different resourceful intellectuals .
I have upto 40 activities and posts but the problem I'm having now as a new person in the system is how to get more merit. Please, I will appreciate your humble suggestion and guidance.
That’s probably most of the problem with newbies these days. They tend to be more giving value on how to get merits and earn eventually, when they should have focused more to acquire more knowledge and ideas in the forum which will mold them to become valuable and high quality posters in the making.

Merits won’t be easily earned unless your growth in the forum is not shown yet, and other members still fail to notice it. So what you are going to do is to keep learning more, and try to evaluate the posts of legendary and reputable members in the forum, I’m sure you will gain some strategies on how to easily gain merits if you try to imitate their strategies in posting, but not to the extent of plagiarizing because you will eventually get kick out in the forum before you will gain merits.
351  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 17, 2024, 03:07:21 PM
Houston Rockets are preparing to give a new contract to Alperen Şengün. If he gets a max contract, Alperen can earn $225 million in 5 years. Alperen, who increased his statistics this season, deserves to receive a max contract. It's not easy to find such a good center. If he gets this contract, Alperen will make history in Turkish sports. The Turkish athlete will be the one who earns the most. And he's still very young. He has already become a player who will write his name in history.
He will likely get a max because he plays like their best player and he is still young, currently at 21 years old. It's true, NBA doesn't have a lot of good centers so the competition isn't that high. This season he is averaging 21.1 PPG, 9.3 rebounds, and 5.0 assists, these numbers showed he is an all around player, a big man who knows how to pass, create his offense and very hard working on defense and grabbing the ball.

We don't know if it could happen since it's just a speculation for now, but if it will happen, we should not be surprise as he had the best season in his NBA carreer so far.
352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 17, 2024, 02:20:13 PM
..it clearly shows that Coverge doesn't play defense, no wonder they are at the bottom now.

On the other hand, even though there's a defense, Magnolia is just draining every shot at every field. With a 52% percentage shooting they did, it means they are having hot hands that night that even well defended, their shots are draining every time.

Besides, I don't expect Converge to shine at the All-local Conference. They are clear to be eliminated after the regular games ended.

They are usually seen as competitive only during import conferences. I hope they can snipe a good import in the next import conference.

353  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I need honest advise concerning this. on: March 16, 2024, 09:58:34 PM
I've been advised that as a newbie i shouldn't rush but to learn from old forum members and grow. But then, I've seen that for one to grow over here you need to get merited and on a regular basis, well i believe at this point i should've been able to acquire some merits, despite the fact that I'm still a Newbie but then i don't see the Merits coming, even after some post i felt could fetch the Merits. It makes me wonder if my posts are not Merit worthy or Quality enough.

Though it almost got me díscouraged, however instead of being discouraged, I'm open to learning ways or how to get the Merits and grow on here, my questions are what I'm i doing wrongly? How can i improve it and also where is the best board to write on if i need these Merits coming?

its not always merit that is needed for you to grow in the community, making a good post, and topics are way to start, once those things are inline you don't need to worry about getting merits it will come naturally without you knowing, also learning things with others post simply adding up to you're growth, new members will immediately want to rank up so fast gathering merit as fast as they could, some people just want to learn because information in the forum are everywhere.
Exactly. Merits are not the sole basis of growth. You can grow in the forum if you consistently learn new insights and valuable ideas through reading and participating in such discussions. You grow in the forum if you have learned from the experiences of other forum members. And lastly, you grow in the forum when you are now able to create constructive and quality posts that you can already leave an impact to other members. If you are seeing these things in yourself, believe me those merits will eventually follow. Don’t chase for merits, but look forward for additional knowledge in the forum, that way merits will be raiser for you to achieve.
354  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: JP Morgan says BTC price could drop after 2024 halving on: March 16, 2024, 09:31:41 PM
Maybe JP wants to accumulate bitcoin when it dumps. That's why he always creates FUD. The bitcoin price has grown without a major correction. So there is a huge chance of a dump before creating a new ATH. It's true; most likely, it will happen when all the hype is over. Investors will start liquidating after halving. This would lead to a major dump and correction before another pump. Since there are a lot of institutional investors already in the markets, they will make money, so they have to sell, obviously. So when they start re-entering, the price will start to move up again.
No one holds the future of bitcoin, and JP Morgan may be true or may be not. The market might actually end up dumping after halving, however, I don’t think the price would drop drastically like that. Gone are the days for $40k price, so most likely bitcoin will touch $60k or $55k might be its dip. Whatever the price will be, at least we should  prepare for it and would not jump into panic selling. Otherwise, we will end up selling at a loss and definitely lose all the chances for future profits when bull run happens.
355  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Scratch Offs on: March 16, 2024, 08:59:47 AM
How much are we talking here? For a $1 bet for a ticket, I'm expecting it coudl be $200 or more?

This kind of game is for fun only, the chance of winning is very slim, just like a lottery ticket, so I'd say you were lucky that time but eventually the law of average will sink if you keep buying scratch off tickets. Have fun anyway, I'm wishing you more success but the other side of me is getting real, I know you'll eventually loss, unless you hit a jackpot, a significant amount that would change your life.

Me personally, I've won like $200 equivalent in our money, but did only twice. Never tried it again as I believe lightning does not strike on the same place twice.
356  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: March 16, 2024, 08:32:49 AM
I almost fell out of my seat when I heard this fight being announced, but the more I thought about it, the more it made sense.  Jake Paul doesn't fight legitimate fighters, and I'm of course not saying Tyson isn't legitimate, as he's on of the greatest boxers of all time, but he's what, 60 years old and Paul is like 30..just another money grab in my opinion. I honestly can't take any of these fights seriously.  I think they are rigged.

Mike Tyson is 57 years old. I watched the videos that are being shared on social media to show that he is still very fast and his punches very strong. However, these videos do not show everything. Show me a video of Mike Tyson doing his quick moves and strong punches for 3 minutes for 1 round and do 10 rounds of this. I reckon in the last minute of the video he will have his tongue hanging to his knees and breathing very much similar to a very tired dog.

In any case, if this is on Netflix, this is not a payperview? Will this be available for all Netflix subscribers? I reckon all sports organizations like the NFL should also do this.

Yeah exactly, Iron Mike looks incredible for shorts bursts of time in these videos, and he is one of the greatest of all time, but I just don't know how he's going to hold up for several minutes a round.  I would only watch this fight if I was getting it for free, and though technically I'd be paying for it since I pay a monthly fee to Netflix, it's included in my subscription so I'll be watching it.  But, mostly just in hope that I see him knock out Pall within a couple minutes.

Maybe Mike will be good for one to three rounds and after that we while he is almost 60 years of age and shouldn't be fighting. I think it will be available for all Netflix subscribers, that's what I understand. If not they maybe a couple of dollars, but not the true amount of PPV that we have been paying like $70-$80.

And this will be Netflix first boxing exclusive event and so their big boss might be thinking if this is going to be worth the millions. And if yes, they could have another exhibitions or even pro fights as we all know that Sho and HBO are no longer in existence. And their rival Amazon Prime is also streaming boxing events or at least partnered with some big promoters or networks to show boxing.

So this is like a real subscription for netflix users, right? I'm currently subscribed to netflix with $15 monthly payment, if this will be in PPV  i need to pay the amount price. Well, so convenient but not sure I could afford just for one event, I might just settle for free live stream since there's a lot of that in our country, that way I could use that amount to bet and there's a chance I could double it.

For those who can afford, it should not be a problem,  and since it's from Netflix, it would be easy for them to avail as it's a very popular platforms for movies and tv series.
357  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 16, 2024, 06:56:39 AM
That was out of expectation, LOL.. Who would thought Ginebra losing that big? I mean, no disrespect to Meralco but this team has been struggling early on, so we got caught up by surprise and we loss our bets as well.

By paper, yes that looks like unlikely but since this is PBA where people suspect there's some rigging of games happening, that has become a normal thing already, it could happen anytime and we should be ready to accept it and move on to the next game. Anyway, if we loss on that bet, we can bounce back today as we have 2 games lined up...

DYIP vs Blackwater at 3 pm.. this is like a 50-50 match up. I'll prefer to bet live to take advantage of the odds.

2nd game is Magnolia vs Converge, if I'm not mistaken, this is the first game of Magnolia this season, so coming from a long rest, they should dominate the winless converge (so far).
358  Economy / Economics / Re: Our decision making is responsible for the outcomes in our ways on: March 15, 2024, 10:58:33 PM
Decision making is everything in life. The decision people make can make one to be rich or poor. Thst is why when making decisions we need to be careful with the decision we make that we not affect us.  Many have failed financial because of the wrong decision they make . Every thing we have in life is a result of decision both the good things and the bad things in life.
The most important thing in making a decision is that we really have to do it in a condition that is not in a hurry so that we can make a good and correct decision, because if we decide something is not in a good situation, of course it will be very difficult to make a decision that is profitable for us. We and we also have to think about the positive and negative impacts of the decisions we make.

I think those who experience failure in financial terms of course they cannot manage their expenses well so they continue to use their income on things that are not needed of course this is very bad if we cannot make decisions to use the income we have.
There should be trial and error at first when it comes to decision making. It’s not all the time that we will be able to perfect our decision, hence we need to analyze it well if those decisions will be profitable and productive in the long term or they are just good enough at the present and will not eventually work after that. Just like when you enter an investment, make sure that you are capable to manage the risk, otherwise you will end up losing all your funds.

Good decision will lead to a positive lifestyle, but if you are hitting those bad decisions in life, most likely you will live at mess. However, experience is the best teacher. You will probably learn a lot from it, and won’t never repeat the same mistake again.
359  Economy / Speculation / Re: At what price will you bitcoin holders sell if we have a major price spike? on: March 15, 2024, 09:37:56 PM
Well I think you are right about the number 100k. That number is such a high number and I think people will start to sell and take profits when it does go that high.  And now I do think it there is a good chance it does see that price this year.
At some point, investors will have to sell in my opinion, and it's obvious to get the profit. I mean if you have been holding or accumulating like in 2022 or at least during the FTX collapse, that is a huge gains already if we hit $100k. So maybe the plan is to sell just in parts. If it hit $100k then sell some, and so $120k or if we hit $150k. At least that could be a good strategy in my opinion, staggered sets and at least you could have taken profits every time the price reaches new heights. But not today though, it's just $70k and not going to make that great ROI in my opinion. Next year should really be the goal for everyone to sell.
You have to sell when you see good reasons to sell. When profits are big enough, then never be greedy but start selling a portion of your bitcoin. People end up losing not because they don’t know when to sell, but because their greed is so much big that they can’t afford to sell and only make small profits. If you are actually experiencing this, believe me this will only lead you into regretting, wishing you did sell even at a small profits.

$100k is huge enough if you have been hodling for years. Take time to sell and take time to hold the rest of your coins. Bigger profits are still coming our way, so we should also look forward to that.

I remember Wilder after his draw with Fury entered the rematch his heaviest in his career but was humiliated. He changed team and once again tried his heaviest weight in the third match but was again knocked out. After that Wilder dropped in weight like his old days but was taken to school by Parker. So I wonder how much he weigh in his next fight.

He was the favorite during the first and 2nd fight between Fury, but in the 3rd, Fury ended and proved that he had won all 3 fights. Wilder was a 100% KO artist before he fough Fury, but he just found his kryptonite as he could not KO Fury, the guy got knock down, got up and continue like nothing happen/ I think that's really how strong Fury is, he might not be a KO artist but anyone who would fight him would struggle to beat him especially if they are thinking of pull up an impressive win.
