If I have won small amount of money as I am gambling with small amount of money and going for low odds, I will stop gambling for the day.

If I am losing, I know I should stop for me not to lose more.

Sometimes I gamble at once with big amount but not huge. If I lose, I stop. If I win I stop. I do this if I do not gamble much that week and if I just have little time to gamble.

When you lose. That is always the case especially if you lose control already.
I'm not sure if there are gamblers here who are that addicted actually that they don't sleep and just play all day chasing their loss. But people to themselves know they are in a situation when this happens to them.

For me is when you think it is the right time regardless of whether you win or you lose, there is always a right time to quit, when you lose and when you think that you still want to play and there is still money in your bankroll
but you don't want to chase your losses.

It's for the sake of wanting to play more or you still have money that you are ok to spend, and when you win you want to quit because you want to enjoy winning.

Its where you are comfortable to quit that counts.

Usually i do both, i call it stop-limit just like in trading. But if asking the most important to prevent more problems, it's to stop when you have enough losses, we all know what lossing streak means. Well, more win is good as long as you are not chasing losses to get more win.

For me, first I have to understand why I am gambling and what is the main or ultimate goal in gambling. After understanding the situation when we enter the gambling arena, then we can draw boundaries/when to start and stop gambling.

We have to understand that sometimes people come to gamble, which has a broad meaning. On the one hand, people gamble, there is no limit to stopping, as long as they have the opportunity and the will, they continue to gamble according to their wishes, To be honest, I personally don't have a limit to stop gambling until now, I know winning and losing are part of the games I play.

I usually stop when I'm in the range of my limit. This is very difficult when you're losing though because you want to recover your money but it's a learning process. When you stop different thoughts come to your mind like "What if you win big in the next game?" but don't fall for it. That's how you get into trouble.
It's easier to stop gambling when you're winning. You're going home with something. You can easily work away if you want to buy if you're losing, it is so difficult to quit because you want to win something back.

Every gambler should have a limit. It doesn't have to be a specific amount. It could be a range that they can't exceed. If you train to stick to that you'll hardly get so many losses. Well it all depends on the player mentality because not every gambler has the same mentality as others but I believe for me it's always about the first game and the first try because that will determine if I will continue or not. Of am to get a win then I might possibly reason to continue but anything that makes my first try to amount to lose the that actually marks the end to my gambling session that time because am always observant of my actions not to try and chase my losses.

This will truly be different from one person to another but know that most gamblers are gambling not to lose at all, even if they are using small amount of money to gamble, they prefer not to lose. If some people lose, they will stop because they know how dangerous that time is. Some peoole will lose but not stop and they will lose more. If you are gambling over a long time period in a day, it is possible that the losses may be more because that is casino/bookies versus gamblers. They have more chances than gamblers. For people that are using very small amount of money, they can be able to control their gambling habit and continue playing with very tiny amounts of money without no any financial problem.

Logically in between these two, it is suppose to be when you are losing and not when you are winning. The simple reason and logic to this is that if you are winning, it means you are taking the right step and strategy which is why you are winning so why drop your winning spirit and run away? Your winning days are suppose to be times when you are to maximize it and not to run off.

But while losing, it is assumed that such day are not profiting day so the earlier you realize it the better and save yourself all the troubles associated with losses like your money, emotional instability that can lead to anger and transferred aggresion in the family and to the family, so it would be better to stop during loses.

However, these are just the logic and realistic thinking but things doesn't always go straight, as planned or as they are appearing at a particular time. A winning moment can turn into losing moment and likewise to losses turning into winning. A gambler should be smart to take a proactive step and decision in his game base on what his analysis are and what is happening to his bet. There is no straight cut direction in gambling some times.

It is good to take a break or to quit when you win it boosts your spirit, but it's hard to stop when you still have not filled your satisfaction, so it depends on your satisfaction, whether you win or you lose, as long as you keep in mind that you're playing to enjoy and to be satisfied, but when you're motivation is on making money it's easy to make a decision when you already won.

In my case, I usually quit or take a break when I use all my allocation for that given day, but I just make sure or try to extend my allocation until my satisfaction is filled, it's not easy but you just have to control your allocation to avoid losing my allocation for the whole week.

It should be when you lose, because continues losing is very dangerous to the mental health, because you will be losing both your money and time, however winning comes with a different feeling, it rekindles the spirit of continuity in you, it gives you inner joy and excitement.
So for me, you should give your self a break when you've lost too much.

Though a lot of people tends to stop on their own volution, wether they are losing or winning, they try to regulate their gambling habit on their own, and for me that's the best.

It is best for a gambler to draw the line before his first bet.

What about the 3rd option?

3 - Periodic planned pauses, regardless of loss or victory, according to the system, like every 2 weeks or 1 month? This will allow to analyze past games and summarize (in the past 2 weeks and 1 month). What I do is that, I set aside a percentage of my earnings which I put into gambling let's say $8 every week and for that, there are some weeks I skip gambling in totality so is easy for me to risk $8 for gambling per week, so regardless if I win the first bet, I withdraw my profits and then play again, and if I win the first bet, I might as well call it a day.


Operating within my limits for me have set me on the path of total control of what goes on with me while gambling and that also helps me minimize the risk of losing everything.

I stop whenever I win or lose using a threshold amount. For example, I will stop gambling whenever I hit already x2 of my bankroll or when I bust my current bankroll whichever comes first. I’m always playing money that I allocated for gambling which is small.

I believe should start deciding to draw the line before they gambling so that they can control the situation without knowing it because they have no choice than to stop such as using a bankroll that you can afford to lose or too small to even notice.

When you win from gambling there is a very big chance that you gamble more but drawing a line after winning helps you make sure that you do not gamble more after you win.

The right time to stop is when my budget limit runs out so I don't need to wait to lose to stop gambling, let alone wait to win, so far I am still consistent in limiting my gambling budget so I keep controlling it with just that limit so I can know when to gamble. and when should I stop gambling, without that I can't control myself, I actually play out of control and waste more money unnecessarily when gambling.

Sometimes people often stop gambling when they lose, but believe me, it is difficult to stop yourself from losing, so if you stop because you have lost, it seems like it will be difficult, but it will be different if you stop gambling because your budget has run out. the feeling is much better, even though both of them have experienced defeat, the feelings they get are clearly different, after all, everyone has their own way to stop gambling and rest, maybe not everyone can do what I do because everyone has a different view. It's different in this case, I think everyone should be able to limit their budget to keep it under good control so they know when to stop gambling and when to gamble.

this will depend from person to person. personally, I stop gambling if my funds runs out or if I have gambled long enough for the day, and when I am winning, I stop when I reach a certain profit or if I have gambled long enough for the day. I am not saying that my rule on when to stop gambling is the best but it is what works for me.
