I'm just catching up on the news now, this is great stuff! Thanks for keeping your eye on the ball.

BTW Friedcat looks almost like L from Death Note.

You have solved it! Perfect!

So where are his successors being trained...
343  Economy / Securities / Re: distribution 310297 on: July 14, 2014, 08:22:21 PM
Distribution 310297 is complete. Thank you donators.

With this distribution the first minted seats pass payout threshold of 0.001 BTC.

I realize this is old news now, but I just wanted to say this made me very happy. I love my NastyFans coins, and it's even better now that they have BTC on them. This is such a fun idea!
344  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE - 1,150 TH/S HASH RATE (1GH/S per Unit) on: July 14, 2014, 06:51:38 PM
0.00002086 BTC/share today.
lmao.  Talk about a harsh reality adjustment.  I've gone from thinking this asset would provide me with a decent weekly disposable income that just might grow a bit in value to a steady cheap cup of coffee everyday!  Whoo hoo!

Also agree difficulty will be ramping up here very soon.  Enjoy these paltry dividends while they last fellas.

Don't forget that this is a daily dividend and you have 14 times the shares now.

In no sane universe is .7% per day a paltry return. You definitely do need a reality adjustment.
345  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE - 1,150 TH/S HASH RATE (1GH/S per Unit) on: July 12, 2014, 04:41:38 PM
0.00001724 BTC/unit, so at current share price of .0025 that's a return for today of .689%, or extrapolated out for this moment and disregarding other variables, a yearly return of 251%.

Only in this looney tunes thread can dividends double and it have no effect on share price.
346  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE - 1,150 TH/S HASH RATE (15GH/S per Unit) on: July 04, 2014, 04:36:30 PM
0.00109321BTC/unit dividend received; that's a 3.5% return for this week on the current share price of .031 BTC, or 182% annually if extrapolated out from this moment, all other variables disregarded.
347  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The Habanero - 650GH/s - Batch 2 Shipping June 9th, $850 ($1.3/GH/s) on: June 29, 2014, 05:26:53 PM
I just wanted to give a shout out to Mr. Teal and Pepper Mining.  I can't remember the last time I had to touch these miners.  They just run.  I think it's been at least 2 weeks.  I have some other equipment from small / independent manufacturers and I have to babysit it daily.  I have to restart my Drill Bit miners 2-3 times a day.  Thankfully it's an easy remote deal.  But these Habs are flawless.
I hope you make more, but even if you don't, you have made me some coin Mr. T.  Thank you.

Same thing here. They just run and run. Great stuff!
348  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE - 1,150 TH/S HASH RATE (15GH/S per Unit) on: June 27, 2014, 07:53:00 PM
0.00142891 dividend received, which at this moment's share price of .03 BTC is a 4.76% return this week, or a 247% return annually.
349  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE - 1,150 TH/S HASH RATE (15GH/S per Unit) on: June 23, 2014, 11:53:44 PM
Looks like price is going to stabilize in 0.04 to 0.05 range as lots of people picked-up shares at these prices.

"Lots of people", volume is still very very low. Most shareholders will only see the light after a few more plummeting dividends, as they seem immune to math or reason. Check back in a month or so.

A few more? When was there a "plummeting dividend"? Why would anyone listen to an account actually named "puppet"?
350  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE - 1,150 TH/S HASH RATE (15GH/S per Unit) on: June 23, 2014, 09:27:47 PM
This thread should be shut down, as it no longer serves any purpose.

I come to this thread for information, but there isn't any here anymore. CryptX has made it clear that they'll communicate with shareholders through Havelock, and that has consistently been once a week, every Friday, for a while now. Updates here are just copies of the Havelock updates.

Everything else is just speculation, and should be in the speculation thread here.

Thank you dumpers, today was my best trading day!

I was hoping to bay back at 0.04XX and it really happened. Smiley

Yes, at least there's that. Cheapest shares I've ever bought.
352  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE - 1,150 TH/S HASH RATE (15GH/S per Unit) on: June 23, 2014, 03:23:16 AM
Really not sure at this point what the plan is.  Haven't heard anything on the custom chip front for sometime and Cryptx is notorious for not giving much info to us little shareholders apparently so doubtful he will be piping in anytime soon.  Still thinking these are a steal for now though...waiting on a few coins to hit so I can pick up 1 or 2 more shares while they are this low.

I've never heard anything about custom chips in relation to PetaMine, ever.
Cryptx updates shareholders every Friday, so I'm not sure how he's "notorious" for not giving us any info.
He will probably "pipe up" next Friday.
353  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE - 1,150 TH/S HASH RATE (15GH/S per Unit) on: June 23, 2014, 03:14:02 AM
This is nuts. I can't believe one asshole on a forum can crash the stock of a project with such a strong track record. Havelock is still just a sandbox, after all. I look forward to these markets finally growing up.
354  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE - 1,150 TH/S HASH RATE (15GH/S per Unit) on: June 19, 2014, 01:38:39 AM
@MineForeman.com Welcome to the PETA thread! Minepeon is a godsend, I rely on it for many things -- and I barely understand linux, but am able to use it anyway. Thanks a lot for that! It is a truly super tool.

I can't predict the future. I haven't crunched this week's numbers. Past performance is not a predictor of future success. And I'm definitely not offering investment advice.

But, for the record, Peta-Mine has been a very solid investment for me. I bought in ~9 months ago, at .065/share, and a bit more at .05/share. Share price has been pretty stable during most of that time. At the moment, we are still trading above those numbers, so I could easily sell for a profit. In addition, dividends during that time have been something like ~50% of those IPO values. So... fantastic investment, by any measure.

Nonetheless, every time I come to this thread it is clogged with sky-is-falling, OMG-you-people-are-idiots, this-is-such-scam FUD. And every Friday I make some more profit, just by holding.

Just saying.
355  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE - NEW IPO, NEW HARDWARE, 1,500 TH/S HASH RATE on: June 17, 2014, 04:55:34 PM
I'm about as relaxed as I get without the aid of potent modern pharmaceuticals.  That said, any claim of "helping Bitcoin" by "investing" in PETA while it is mining on ghash.io is patently absurd.
*BTW, which failed-investment-thread do I remember you from, hephaist0s?

@Aireun:
Investing in PETA, which, AFAIK, mines on ghash.io, is *horrible* for Bitcoin.  See here.  Stop parroting nonsense.

Investing does imply increasing your bitcoin stash.  If you can not find any offerings to accommodate that, the wisest choice is not to "invest" in the one that loses you the least money.
No.
Simply *DO NOT INVEST!!1!*
There.

You're missing the point. This forum has the memory of a goldfish. There was some concern about hashing on Ghash; Cryptx responded 4 days ago with:
Quote
With Ghash.io pool fluctuating between 40% and 50% of market share we are looking to set up our own pool (p2pool) or divide our hashrate over several pools, we will do some testing and experimenting before making a switch/final decision. Several criteria are important:
-   Pool variance: A small pool has much more variance which has a direct effect on block finding and payout.
-   Merged mining: pool should at the least allow merged mining for NMC
-   Pool stability: pool should be stable, protected against DDoS attacks, no network latency, efficient work distribution etc.

Of course, the most important thing is that the Bitcoin eco-systems remains healthy, and to avoid a 51% attack.

So wringing our hands now (4 days later) about how we are mining on ghash and casually implying that cryptx is unlikely to stick to this plan is an exhausting waste of everyone's time.
356  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE - NEW IPO, NEW HARDWARE, 1,500 TH/S HASH RATE on: June 17, 2014, 04:19:17 PM
...
CryptX announced they wanted to Leave Ghash when the 51% drama was going on.. which is why, at that moment, some of us decided to jump in.

CryptX announced many things that didn't/won't come to pass.  AFAIK PETA is currently mining on ghash.io.

Cryptx only made the announcement that they were considering moving a few days ago. Relax, not everything can be implemented at the blinding speed of FUD.
357  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: SmartHashing.us -> Gridseed Accessories For Sale & Hosting News/Discussion on: June 15, 2014, 04:02:51 AM
I received all my units from CoinHoarder on Thursday, and they've been up and hashing since. Plus, he included a Raspberry Pi, SD card, USB hub, USB cables and power adapter cables which are very handy!

It's unfortunate that this had to play out this way, but I greatly appreciate this resolution.

edit: I forgot the cryptovest coins, I received those as well and they are very cool.

358  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The Habanero - 650GH/s - Batch 2 Shipping June 9th, $850 ($1.3/GH/s) on: June 10, 2014, 03:16:26 AM

Very happy with these boards! (More pictures here.)

Using triple-length radiators, so far both stay adequately cool and stable at 850MHz (between 87 and 93 degrees), yielding 630-640 GH/s.

Above 875Mhz I get the spiky temperature readout shown in other posts, so presumably I need more voltage. Is there a way to run the voltage tool in Windows?

If there isn't, what's the easiest path to get setup with these tools? My Linux familiarity is essentially nil, but I'm willing to wade in if I know where I'm going.

- 162.69622134 as payment for hardware (801.3037787 BTC remaining)

So even if difficulty would remain the same, thats 5 weeks of no reinvestments. Of course difficulty did just change and is bound to change at least 3 more times before the loan is paid off, so you are probably looking at closer to 2 months of no reinvestment.  Current hashrate of petamine is 1.3PH in a network of ~90PH, or 1.4%. By the time the loan is paid off, it will be well below 1%

As for the "impressive" and "hefty" dividend, maybe Im missing something, but 0.00209952/0.0975 = 2.1% of the IPO price. The network is growing by >7% per week. Any math geniuses want to guess how long it will take to earn back the principle through divs? Thats right, forever and then some.

You're nuts. 2.1% per week is stunning. That's 100% per year. Will we be able to keep that up, eh, who knows -- but the data point we have right now, this week's dividend, 2.1% this week... there is no rational way to call that bad. Yes, you do seem to be missing something.

Edit: Also, largest dividend ever! But yeah, totally a bad sign. ?!?!
360  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] PETAMINE - NEW IPO, NEW HARDWARE, 1,500 TH/S HASH RATE on: June 06, 2014, 09:27:26 PM
And assuming no major fluctuations in BTC prices, even with no growth of the mine next week's dividend should be just as hefty since there won't be a difficulty increase between now and then. Awesome.
