This auction is for a mixed lot of five Bit-Cards. They have been kept in storage and are in very good condition, but they HAVE BEEN REDEEMED and are EMPTY, as well as having hologram residue on the front. The lot includes: 3x non-denominated wallet cards: flame design, ray design, and space design 1x 1m BTC card (.001 BTC): red design 1x non-denominated wallet card CUSTOM DESIGN: Space Goldfish! The Bit-Cards people went through a phase where one could upload their own design, and this was mine: a goldfish swimming in an inverse cosmos, with a Magic-8 Ball as an eye, which would read " BTC" if it wasn't too small to see. So rare! These are really high-quality cards, with great graphics, quality holograms, printing and multi-layer plastic meant to enhance security. Their website was here, but it has been down for maintenance for a long time and I do not believe these cards are made any longer. They made a great product. This is the 2nd of two auctions for redeemed Bit-Cards which I am holding. Please do not get them confused.EDIT: I neglected to obscure the keys in my original post, so I changed the picture after about 5 minutes. As mentioned, these are redeemed and empty, so that shouldn't matter, but it is something I had meant to do. I'm surprised the bidding isn't more competitive on these. These are great coins. Unlike some, they're not just Casascius clones -- arashd came up with refreshing new designs, in a new size, with truly excellent production values. That's saying something, in a niche market where sometimes "limited edition" basically underscores how home-made a thing is. Plus, laser engraved public & private keys, with matching QR codes! Even the protective stickers followed a different model -- not the regular holograms, but more of a multi-layer, scratch-off kind of thing. So I guess what I'm wondering is why Casascius coins seem, so far, to command more interest, when those are so much more common. These are much rarer, and should command a premium. And they deserve it. I am *guessing* that it has something to do with trust -- because these are less well known, people are slower to bite? Well, for what it's worth, as someone with the dubious distinction of having opened a few Nolacoins in the past, I had no issue whatsoever redeeming them -- and that is NOT always the case. I won't name names, but sometimes... stuff. With Nolacoin, keys were correct, the QR codes worked, and arashd earned my trust. I'm not plugging my blog, but for what it's worth, I wrote about Nolacoin a few years back in more detail, and I think what I wrote is still relevant: http://object2212.com/?p=55

Ive always thought about it, but my luck.....first time im getting the scammy buyer i know it. Even if i end up winning it will be months of bs i got to go through. Probably over cautious but i know my luck.
Yup. Back in the day, I sold one of my BFL miners for $3700 on eBay, but it was some college kid and he said it didn't work right... of course it did, it worked fine before I sent it, and after I accepted it back for a full refund it still worked fine. But I was terrified of getting a negative rating. He was just an idiot, or just as likely, had no idea what he was doing. That's why he paid so much for it. I've been very wary of eBay for crypto ever since. The whole thing was a waste of time. But still -- crypto coins command a higher premium on eBay. It's hard to look away.

Why are the premiums higher on eBay? Is it just ignorance/lack of access to the market here? I'd always rather sell here, but the markup on some items on eBay is very tempting. Yes, I understand the chargeback risk. Thoughts?

This auction is for one 2013 Bit-Card 1 m BTC card (.001 BTC). It is still funded & unopened, has been kept in storage and is in great condition. There were several stock design for these, and this one has some sort of groovy flames on it. These are really high-quality cards, with great graphics, quality holograms, printing and multi-layer plastic meant to enhance security. Their website was here, but it has been down for maintenance for a long time and I do not believe these cards are made any longer. It's a shame, because it was a quality product. Congratulations, TMAN, you are the winner! PM incoming.

The creator sold buyer-funded coins later on, but those were etched as "buyer-funded" on the front of the coin. There's no reason to think these aren't funded, especially if the seller is willing to share the addresses (maybe upon request, via PM?).
