341  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Taxation In European Union Varies Drastically on: March 26, 2018, 12:28:35 PM
EU Cryptocurrency taxation ranges drastically from 0-50%
Where are the sources for this information? Is this from here? https://news.bitcoin.com/0-to-50-time-to-pay-crypto-taxes-in-the-european-union/. Wherever it is from though and even if it is a fact I think it is too insane for a country to tax crypto 50%. I think the most justified tax ranges from 0% to 30% of every crypto transaction. Anything more than that I think it is too insane for it to be considered as a tax.
342  Economy / Economics / Re: Cost of Living Comparison on: March 26, 2018, 12:00:18 PM
I do not think that users have considered cost of living against the strength of a currency. The value of a currency is important. Consequently, if a currency is devalued, it affects the cost of living because inflation would be high. So I think cost of living and currency go hand in hand.

Some countries are small in size, number and popularity yet their cost of living is very high because the country's currency is devalued while some are doing well because their currency is really active and in use giving it more strength.
If that is the case then it is better to live in countries that have a strong currency like USA but little cost of living. I do not say that cost of living in US is cheap but in some states, I think living is feasible as one can have great access to free tv coverage and wireless internet while food and basic necessities are just in the right price. IMO Philippines is also a good choice since one can live there and have 3 decent meals per day(for each person) by just spending 3$.
343  Economy / Economics / Re: Rapper Cardi B erupts over taxes, asks where the money is going on: March 26, 2018, 11:28:37 AM
This is an amusing storybut i do  not agree with it. Probably she attended a public school and she got free education. Did she think that taxes was actually pay8ng for her education. Shes a rapper and most likely she has a car.  Well taxes built that roads. Well you get the point it is valid to question if the taxes are going to an impotant things but questioning where the taxes goes she just need to gi outside and see that almost everything are paid by taxes.
She did not said where all her tax money goes but to sum her question up, she wants to know where the 40 percent of taxes go since if you really do go out and see the world, you will really think that they do not return all of the taxpayer's money to citizens. I can understand where those goes though, to the salary of public servants, policemen and teachers in public schools but IMO 40 percent of taxes is too many.
344  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's your experience with paying with btc/crypto in real life? on: March 25, 2018, 01:09:38 PM
Have you ever paid for something via bitcoin? What was the experience like? How did you deal with the transaction fees and the waiting time?

Share your story. Smiley
I have had experienced paying btc in steam to buy a game when it was still accepting bitcoin. The experience IMO is just like a normal transaction but it is more convenient. I didn't have to worry about the transaction fees and waiting at that time since I have done the transaction way back before halving where transaction fees aren't that high and bitcoin's blockchain is not that slow. I have no recent transactions besides that as I like to buy things offline if it is available on local stores near me.
345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin need to hold...?? on: March 25, 2018, 11:54:08 AM
All the crypto market linked with bitcoin and all other coin if anybody want to purchase need of Bitcoin. Is this right thought of anyone to buy other coin against bitcoin or need to hold bitcoin.
Any thought is right and not wrong, it is his money anyway and so long one can profit, it is right. Both can be profitable if done correctly but buying other coin against bitcoin is riskier though as it's future is more uncertain than btc. Even if that is the case, it is better to do both at the same time, buying other coin while holding a portion of bitcoin one has got for diversity of investments.
346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is cryptocurrecy a money laundering tool for criminals? on: March 25, 2018, 11:19:01 AM
The crypto carries the dream of an anonymous coin, not controlled by any government, and this makes it a dream for criminals. The fact that the FBI took control of Silk Road has made it clear that it is unacceptable to overturn the law.
Even if it is an anonymous coin, bitcoin and crypto as well is not just a mere money laundering tool for criminals. Blockchain as a whole is created in order to aid transactions online without the need of a third party. It is also supposed to be used as an alternative way to pay besides fiat but the fact is that users(most of them) use it in speculation. What can you say about fiat then? I think they are used more in illegal dealings rather than crypto.
347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Coinbase list Tron TRX ? on: March 25, 2018, 10:29:29 AM
What you say is probably right. But see many talk about it now days. Hope it will be possibly to buy crypto at Binance with fiat soon. Than Coinbase will be history. The fees at Coinbase are crazy
Those people who are saying that coinbase will list TRX are just probably trying to spread FOMO in order to boost it's price. I also hope that another good exchange will help us buy crypto with fiat soon, I am starting to get tired with coinbase's shits when buying crypto with fiat. For now, just try to ignore those who spread the FOMO for TRX. Let them do as they please and don't believe them.
348  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What ever makes u more money in less time on: March 25, 2018, 08:16:33 AM
Day and Swing Trading: Which is better, Stocks or Crypto?
It depends but if I base it on your title, crypto is better than stocks since it can help you make more money in less time when day or swing trading. Although that is the case, you can also lose fast on some certain coins(it is similar to stocks anyway as one can lose fast in bad investments in stocks too). In terms of long term though I think both is on par with each other as they are both profitable investments.
349  Economy / Speculation / Re: Poll: Do you believe the MtGox trustee is saying the truth? on: March 23, 2018, 11:57:38 AM
The entire issue is way overblown in my opinion.
The issue has been overblown because of FUDer's and that's obvious. Those who spread FUD uses the name of MtGox to spread fear and uncertainty in the market, since MtGox incident is very famous in the history of bitcoin.
What could possibly be the motive for moving the coins and lying about selling them?
The motive of the trustee is obvious if he did lie about it. He might have had sold only a little and just moved the large portion of coins somewhere else after all, he can profit if he rebuys at a lower price. Even though that is the case, it is very unlikely that he will lie to the court as he might be thrown to jail for that.
350  Economy / Speculation / Re: $9,500 remains the major resistance for further gains. on: March 22, 2018, 01:48:20 PM
I personally don't mind seeing BTC entering a very stable consolidation phase where price hovers around $9K for 2 / 3 months. Any quick gain to $13K from here would only cause another huge round of sell-off which could bring BTC to below $6K.
As far as I know OP has already mentioned that in his post, read the post quoted below as reference. Although that is the case, I agree with you both that if it have gone past to it's major resistance point too early, it will cause dump below 6000$ or even worse. The only question is if btc will continue hovering around 9000$ for over 2 to 3 months? I think that won't be the case and we might see some actions soon.
Even if price manages to unlock the area above $9,500, BTC is more likely to correct lower after rally.
351  Economy / Speculation / Re: Beginning of luck in 2018 on: March 22, 2018, 01:00:07 PM
What do you understand by the term legalization? If you hope that governments of different countries will allow turnover of bitcoins in trade then you are mistaken. It's never gonna happen. The maximum that the government will allow it to officially pay a tax on the exchange of bitcoins to Fiat. Would that make a difference?
That's what other's most common misconception, bitcoin being able to take over cash in trades. I think governments would also allow people to use bitcoin as an alternative payment method like how people use credit cards. People paying tax on the exchange of bitcoins to fiat makes a real difference as it can help make adoption rate go up massively(since it would be well known if news of btc's legalization spreads).
352  Economy / Speculation / Re: The DEATH CROSS is in. How low will we go? on: March 22, 2018, 12:26:21 PM
Now that we're in a situation where there is not even a single day of bad news. Perhaps, it is the games of governments. Isn't it strange that you have bad news every day? I don't know what to do anymore.
I think it is not strange. In fact, I see it as natural considering bitcoin transactions had been slow and expensive in the past few months and many new users have got in with the mindset get rich quick in bitcoin. I also don't think that the government is playing games with us. If they do that, I don't see their games that profitable because they will use more money than what they will gain by making btc price go down.
353  Economy / Speculation / Re: POLL: Where are we now? on: March 22, 2018, 11:44:53 AM
History rhymes, it never repeats.

Which time best rhymes with now?
I think none is the best rhyme to whatever is happening now so I chose whatever option is the nearest(which is why I picked E). There is no option stating that we are in the phase marked with unknown but to be honest, it is the perfect rhyme for it(since it is nearing that point where it signals a bearish run but is unpredictable and no one can tell if it will really dump or not. The other choices are too implausible IMO.
354  Economy / Economics / Re: What Will Be The Future Price Of Ripple| Analysis And Prediction Of The Future P on: March 22, 2018, 10:34:34 AM
Ripple is working with some of the biggest financial institutions around the world. Ripple aims to power the whole financial sector by making instant transactions possible at a fraction of the current costs. It provides a frictionless experience for global fund transfer using the blockchain technology. In future, it is expected to act as a liquidity solution for the cross-border transactions. Banks and Payment Providers can use XRP to settle multi-currency transactions to minimize the overheads
Ripple's intentions is nice and all but don't think of predicting it's price since it is centralized. It's developers sacrificed decentralization in order to achieve instant real time transactions. I also think that price won't move that much because of it's centralization, there is someone who controls meaning he/she/they will also be the ones that will control the future prices of Ripple. For this reason I think it would be stable in the next coming months or years.
355  Economy / Economics / Re: Charity Accepting Bitcoins? on: March 21, 2018, 12:52:02 PM
If there is a charity accepting bitcoins do you prefer to give some of yours Huh

Me: I will if there is, but for now I don't have yet. Wink

If there are charities accepting bitcoin, I would not prefer to give them bitcoin but rather I would like to give them fiat instead. Since crypto dealings can be done online, Those charity institutions asking donations online via bitcoin might just be posing to be a charitable institution but they might not be. I'll rather make sure that what I am donating to a charity will really help some people, and not to be used to help someone taking advantage of anonymity to get money from others.
356  Economy / Economics / Re: what's the easiest way to keep a coin at a fixed price on: March 21, 2018, 11:29:49 AM
How difficult is it in really to what Tether (USDT) does such as pegging the coin to US Dollar price of $1?
Tether is like that because it is centralized. In order for other coins to achieve the same stability, it needs to be centralized first. If a coin is decentralized, there is no way it will be at a fixed price because of free market(offer changes almost hourly). If you like coins that are functioning that way, you are better off using tether in the fist place. You can also try to use coins that does not move that much(but don't expect it to be at a fixed price all the time.
357  Economy / Economics / Re: [DIFFERENCE] INVESTING vs TRADING on: March 21, 2018, 10:19:30 AM
Probably so many think if he invested in cryptocurrency, it means he has been trading too. Yet these two things are very different. Here are the differences of investing and trading according to Warren buffet and Jesse Livermore:

INVESTING (Warren Buffet)
- More concerned with a fundamental analysis ( ratio, cash flow, etc)
- Typically longer term buy and hold
- Much less sensitive to short-term price fluctuations
- Very little commission fees due to infrequent buys and sells
- In the mindset of " Part of the company"

TRADING (Jesse Livermore)
- Technical analysis based ( Chart patterns, indicators, etc)
- shorter term, many more transactions
- sensitive to short-term price fluctuations
- potential for larger returns in the short term
- More paid in commissions due to many transactions

which one are you?
I really appreciate if there is any additional difference between the two.
You should add a mindset in the trading for a better comparison. I guess one can say that trading(traders) mostly are in the mindset of getting rich quick or in the mindset of a reseller? I thought of it that way because of short term trading's goal(buy high and sell low) being similar to a reseller's mindset. You should also add a comparison for the potential for returns. I suggest you put potential for massive returns in the long term, but low returns on the short term.
358  Economy / Economics / Re: “By 2025, even drug dealers won’t take cash.” How BiG is PORN and other issues.. on: March 21, 2018, 09:37:21 AM
cash-less means we are going to move on to digital form instead. what we use is not going to change, but only the shape of it. in other words we will still be using the same fiat that we have used for hundreds of years but now with credit cards, with our cell phones, with cryptocurrencies which are centralized and issued by the government and represent the same fiat.
At least OP is right that we probably won't use paper cash by that time.
The death of cash is the result of a plan – to cede control of money
away from the banks and governments, and place it instead in the
hands of the new players:
tech companies.

They won't succeed in that plan since banks and government will try their best to have control over fiat currencies. Although that is the case, you are right that tech companies are the ones who will have more authority in a world where digital cash is used.
SPENDING CAUSES ACTUAL PAIN.
When we pay with cash, neural pathways light up like a Christmas tree.”
“So in creating a payment system that eradicates cash,
we eliminate neural pain – the flinch moment –
and open the brain to limitless spending.
Oh really? I think that will not open the brain to limitless spending(since it is still hard to earn money).
359  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exchanges to avoid on: March 20, 2018, 08:38:29 PM
Maybe it's a good idea to create a list of shit-exchanges we should avoid. Boycott them to death.
2. Cryptopia, deposits will take hours to appear into your account and withdrawals can take hours, weeks or months.
4. Etherdelta! You should avoid it because its really complex to use and you can easily make a mistake.

I am using the two exchanges above without having problems on my end. In cryptopia's case, my deposit and withdrawal surely takes hours to appear, but I still am not experiencing a case where it had took weeks or months to withdraw unless I hold it there for a little while. In etherdelta's case, I think it is good to use just be mindful of the url as it can be phished easily. I think it isn't that complex at all but it is somehow not that fast and user friendly.
360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trump’s Executive Order Banning ‘Petro’ on: March 20, 2018, 01:15:14 PM
Could Trump’s Executive Order Banning ‘Petro’ Transactions Lead to Backdoor Cryptocurrency Regulations?
I think it won't lead to backdoor cryptocurrency regulations(I hope). I think trump's move is a wise choice because who the heck will believe in Maduro's claim that it is backed by oil? Also, the fact that it is centralized with Maduro in control of it is also bad which I think is the most probable reason why trump have given an executive order to ban Petro transactions. Maduro can try getting Petro in a free market, I think it would have more value this way.
