341  Economy / Economics / Re: Is labour wealth? on: July 15, 2024, 11:39:47 AM
Labour for me is human productive effort towards achieving set target. To answer the question, labour may be wealth, in the sense that when others labour while you fold your harms and watch from where will the wealth come from? Wealth creation cannot be separated from human effort  both mental and  physical.
Labour is a type of human resource. It has its value if used in the proper manner. Work done to mine gold is the effort and that selling of gold to get money is the money that is partly paid to the humans for their labour.

So yes, labour is wealth. With a lack of labour, many industries will break down.

It is not that everyone on top just folds their arms as the lower tier works, the higher tier has much more skillful labour and less physical labour. Their stress levels are often the highest.

Maybe someone from the French local board can confirm this, @Saint-Loup, in case you get a notification, do check yohannc's account.

344  Economy / Speculation / Re: In July do we go bull and pass 75k? on: July 14, 2024, 10:17:58 AM
I dont think there is any such thing as "defeat" in trading. You just need to be patient and seize the right moment.

As July mid we are seeing a bull run after that Germany sell off and MtGox (again) downtrend which ruined the first half of this month. If the time is right 75k might get hit but it will soon drop back to "manageable" levels, 75k is too high to be able to sustain support levels.

The buying point has passed for this month it seems.
345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Reissued: requesting Bitcoin community integration, decentralization on: July 14, 2024, 05:20:05 AM
Yes I’m new to this. Satoshi Nakamoto didn’t end global poverty, war, diseases and insulate mankind from all future disasters and major catastrophes. This one does.
That is a bold statement to make. Satoshi's objective was none of those. They were NOT gods. Roll Eyes

Also that coin which can do all that, is too good to be true among other red flags.

Mining companies might be reeling under losses, but if their miners stop, more miners will come up to fill the void and balance the demand. That is how this system is designed. Why would someone buy stocks in mining companies anyway? Rather they should buy bitcoin.
346  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think casinos can stop demanding KYC? on: July 14, 2024, 05:05:14 AM
...since it is mostly fraudsters and criminals that doesn't like their identity to be known when involving in any financial dealings with any company or organization.
There are such fraudstars and government does not like having them use these casinos as mixing depots. Hence it was expected long back that things will turn to KYC after a while. Common law-abiding citizens might face the problem but it is part of the system now.

Government has to answer for people wrongly moving money, they have to take these steps. Hence casinos will not stop it, but only become stricter or try to maintain a middle group from annoying regular users to repelling frauds.
347  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Restrict mining to single country? (Bitcoin algorithm) on: July 14, 2024, 04:59:48 AM
I represent a group of developers involved in reissuing Bitcoin through a hard fork with merged mining. We would like to know, is it possible to restrict mining our blockchain to a single country? Ie- can we block miners outside of a particular country?
Seriously mate, you sound like the fat guy who runs his country like a god, builds nukes for nothing and hate when people listen to music from their next door country. Grin

Bitcoin is decentralized for F*** sake, if you dont want to mine with the rest of the world, build your own shitcoin and promote it like those scamstars in the  "altcoins" section of the forum.
348  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The 'play till you hit it' mindset on: July 14, 2024, 04:54:50 AM
Jackpot hunters?

Fairly common in offline gambling, though there are some who keep having wet dreams about jackpot wins every now and then and attempt to chase it. It is the gamblers mindset indeed, trying to defeat the game in a game where the player is supposed to lose the game.

I think those who have been in the gambling industry have realized by now that the cumulative losses outweigh the total jackpot even won once. So you win big, but you have actually lost.
349  Other / Archival / Re: I finally accumulated 0.1 bitcoin!! on: July 14, 2024, 04:46:20 AM
What you can make and what you would make nobody knows for sure.

Depending on your salary, which I assume you dont have at the moment considering your age, life can be tough. Still being able to accumulate 0.11+ BTC is a nice feat, but you did not clarify the time period it took you to do so.

I would say focus on your education at this stage, keep bitcoin as a side hustle.

Another thing, the price of bitcoin as it keeps going upwards, the compared price in USD will be so small that common man's earning will be a much smaller number in BTC. So dont take that "amount" to be big, you goal should be to start accumulating at every dip.
350  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 📝[Discussion topic] Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns📝 on: July 14, 2024, 04:34:22 AM
According to Ralle14's latest update, so far, there are only 16 active signature campaigns left. Not even that difficult period of COVID-19 has this very low number of active signature campaigns. And this all is happening during the time when we are getting ready for the bull market, or already a half way there. I wonder what will happen once we get to the bear market.
Campaigns will come and go, this is temporary. All of a sudden we might see a burst of campaigns coming in like crazy. They will never disappear completely unless the forum shuts down or the admin decided to shut down campaigns.

Lets make sure to keep bitcointalk that way such that above never happens. We humans tend to focus too much on negatives at times, while things need time and patience to work out.

In the meantime make sure everyone earns merits and gets their ranks up to be able to join new campaigns as and when they come up.
351  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US presidential candidate Donald Trump will speak at the 2024 Bitcoin Conference on: July 13, 2024, 02:34:06 PM
Trump has his own objectives which is far cunning for us to understand at this stage. He is the stakeowner in many of the casinos and is thus running a good profit from them and his hotels. It is a booming business for him and he is likely to upscale it, maybe using crypto by some means. Who knows maybe he might endorse some other new shitcoin.

Talk in a conference or what not, most people visit them for the free lunch. Lets see what actually happens.
352  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: July 13, 2024, 02:26:34 PM
I wish someone official from freebitco.in would come to this thread and make a statement as to what is going on and what they think about the future of the site. It has been running for long and problems have been coming in for the last few months only. It is one of the oldest faucets and I would hate to see it go away dishonorably.

Only red flags are coming up now, hope people can get their money back asap.
353  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it proper for one to trade Bitcoin through a trusted friend ? on: July 12, 2024, 01:36:13 PM
I agree I think fully entrusting everything to a friend is the mistake here but if you really want to do it then the least you can do is at least try to learn. Maybe get your friend as a guide and use his expertise so you can learn and eventually do it all in your own without the help of anyone.
You dont have any friends in the crypto trading sector - something you learn from experience. The people who might think as friends, you may get scammed by the same. So I would not trust anyone with my money unless I know from in real life for a long time.

For trading, it is not difficult to learn. Besides if their trading experience is poor, they can just buy bitcoin from time to time and not think about trading on it.

Never engage with anyone calling themselves some sort of "fund manager" because these scams are also common.
354  Economy / Economics / Re: Leadership and Economics on: July 12, 2024, 01:30:43 PM
According to the Holy Bible, when a good leader that God fearing becomes the leader of the Nation then the people rejoice. A good leader creates a convenience environment for the citizens to do business without fear and tremble. When a good enter seat then money flow, inflation is reduced and everywhere is bright and beautiful.
The Messiah concept is something I personally dont like. I prefer to run with what I find useful and try to use the situation to my utmost advantage. Leaders will come and go but we have to continue chasing our long term goals. There are economies where things are good and where things are bad. But people are still working and living lives because they have learnt to adapt.

A certain leader might support crypto while another might not. You just have to be patient and continue until the leader is defeated by the next candidate.
355  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do not be discouraged while learning to trade. on: July 12, 2024, 01:16:38 PM
Everyone will lose some money or other in trading. It is not like a fixed monthly salary thing, it is speculative and is prone to market changes and how you ride those changes.

If the discouragement in trading is because of regular money losses happening in trading then go for dummy trading which does not needs money from your part and only needs your interest, time and some papers.

Patience is an important thing here, timing and getting the proper order in at the right time makes a lot of difference and since the market here runs 24*7*365 a lot of patience is needed to get that proper price booked.
356  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A reservoir of unpredictable games. on: July 11, 2024, 12:07:40 PM
Confidence? At least some games will be wins if you keep placing bets on a game. Maybe a chunk of them came together. This is what I felt happened, the OP was a difficult for me to get a summary of.

A small number of clustered wins--> false confidence--> losing all bets after that.

I think this has been fairly common among some gamblers, specially in their starting days. Never be haughty about your wins. Accept losses or wins and be humble and move on.
357  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the main points of gambling? on: July 11, 2024, 12:03:40 PM
If those gamblers chase their wins, that will not gives a big chance since gambling is not like a source of income. They will see their money will be gone slowly or fast depends on how they use their money to gamble.
If you chase a loss you are guaranteed to lose. The thing to do is to stop playing and accept the loss and move on.

We can teach our children about many things including how to prevents their minds thinks about something wrong such as gambling
This is a sensitive area. Children need to be taught math and stats with science properly to be able to get a reasoning based logical mindset. Once that is developed, show them how gambling makes the casino will more than the player. They should be able to get a general idea about how it works and slowly introduce things to them that will guide them to make decisions when urge to play comes up.
358  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC Security Broken? on: July 11, 2024, 12:00:20 PM
I checked that social media account and it seem they are making up conclusions on many blockchains not just bitcoin. Maybe they are right, maybe they are wrong, nobody can predict what bitcoin will become in future. But the usual trend on that account is pessimistic about every coin.

I have my doubts about the integrity of that fund.

However, I agree with @pooya87, I think their comment is spot on. Price of bitcoin in terms of local fiat currencies are never considered when making this statement. Miners need the transaction fee, but the fee will be here for as long as bitcoin exists.

Shifting to POS is a poor choice, in my opinion. Temporary blocking of ordinals seems to be a better solution in the short term.
359  Economy / Economics / Re: The collapse of central banks...Inevitable? on: July 11, 2024, 11:48:31 AM
Politicians say what the countrymen want to hear, not the truth. Banks will survive, no matter what happens, they have their own agenda to run, loans to give and economies to run. They will in future work closely with bitcoin to allow use of both fiat and bitcoin in close cooperation.

As you can already see, KYC and AML policies have forced people to give up their control over bitcoin and allow themselves to be taxed once again.

Hence dont pay much heed to what some politician says, rather accumulate bitcoin, minimize unnecessary spending and continue living your life.
360  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: 🃏JacksClub: ROUND 30 - BTC PRICE PREDICTION CONTEST $150 in BTC 🚀 on: July 10, 2024, 11:53:00 AM
@Gaza13, @Jateng and @xLays did not meet the wagering requirements for winners

We're not member rank below. I won this contest before without meeting the wagering requirement. I think there's a miscommunication here. I thought only member ranks below need to meet the wagering requirements as per the criteria.
At least a 100$ need to be wagered by any participant to be eligible. Read the lines again.
