few independent people in chengdu and shenzen are confirming that they are clearing there D3 batch 1 week after there previous sale because they will start taking pre-orders of  D3+ soon similar chips as innosilicon

Edit: thats why the batch is crypto only, the 30ghs D3+ batch will be priced at $2199.00 come september (not sure if people in slack speculating or real sources)

Could be just a rumor to get people to not buy this batch, so it leaves more for the rest, There will be a new d3 but it wont be this quick and will be a long wait.

Looks like a reseller is asking for 6500$ for new dm22g preorder. Unless its a scam its quite likely he will make a decent profit so the real price should be 3.5-5k

Does anyone have any idea how many D3s are going to be released in the past 3 batches? I was doing some calculations on difficulty and hashrate and came up with 1 GH/s adds about 22.5 to difficulty. So, one D3 would add 337.5 at 15 GH/s. I'm trying to see if it would be worth getting some in their next release.
Rumor has it;

Batch 1 = 200 units
Batch 2 = 3000 units
Batch 3 = 3500 units

If so....by your calculations an additional 2,328,750 Difficulty from current?

Real numbers are:
B1: 250 07/18/2017
B2: 3300 07/20/2017
B3: 35000 08/03/2017

That can't be correct. I'm fairly certain that I personally know of more than 250 units being delivered from batch 1. I'd believe 2500. Also, those batch 3 numbers are completely bogus too. The 35000 number was derived from querying some web hooks on Bitmain's site and somebody made the assumption that it represented units sold and units remaining. The people spreading this FUD are either wrong or just trying to scare others into not purchasing so that the initial batches can be more profitable for longer.

35000 units were placed in stock for the last batch. Around 25k already paid. The rest, expired USD orders. That's why this batch only accept BTC and LTC.

If you don't trust my numbers, i'll come back in November and we'll see the hash rate.

So there would be absolutely ZERO reason to buy this next batch again.  ROI would be impossible.

He's full of shit.

+1 some people just trying to put people off , no chance @ 35K..

If my L3+ can still be pulling $50 a day after 1000's and tonnes of batches im sure the first few on the D3 will ROI fast...

Your l3+ can still do that because theres a ton of scrypt coins to mine, plenty of options to spread the global hashrate, x11 is very limited.

With 28,428,047,460 coins already in circulation doesnt leave too much room for any major future price increases. Id avoid buying from future obelisk batches.
350  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: First Asic for SIA - Obelisk SC1 on: August 09, 2017, 04:11:36 AM
Look at what bitmain did to ibelink, baikal and innosilicon with the dash miners. Bitmain will ruin these companies with the d3, and noone thought bitmain would pursue x11, what if they pursue blake2b? Be very weary...

I dont think they will as SIA is just another ALT for them with almost zero value and Also by looking at the struggle for sale of Obelisk would have put off any company thinking about the same. They are not really intrested in Technology behind a coin, all they need is your $$$ and I dont think SIA will cut it for them.

The struggle of the obelisk sale is the price and the time to wait for shipment. Bitmain could easily bring something out in 4 not 9+ months and far cheaper. If these obelisks were sold at 1500$ instead of 2500 or shipped by xmas then theyd be sold out by now. Dash was just another alt to them too. Sia will have huge value if its the first coin of its kind to obtain an asic to secure its network. Its definately pumpable as history has shown. Its not likely this will happen before the obelisk ships, but after that its more likely to happen if sia succeeds.

Hi guys,
I have ordered one (october batch) so I hope that ROI will be about 2 months.
If it will make 500€ / month I will be happy. It's my first investition for mining, so let's see and good luck to all who ordered D3 too.  Wink

Thanks to its lower price you might be alright, but it will be more then 2 months. September batches have best chance, earlier the better. Depends on how u mine.
353  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: August 08, 2017, 10:32:53 PM
I appreciate the analysis that as hash rate climbs the price climbs.  However if you use BTC as an example there is a TON of hash chasing BTC and the profitability of those miners who mine BTC for the most part is really not very good.  This is why so many people mine the "alt's" and not BTC directly.

With this much hash rate dumping on X11 even if the price climbs the return/profitability of the miners is going to really stink and by the end of the year, and is probably going to be a pretty grim picture.  I don't mine BTC directly for a reason.  And with this huge dog pile in X11 it looks like there are very good reasons to not mine X11.  Now if you were one of the lucky ones to get a DM11G in the first batches or possibly even one of the first batches from Bitmain you may have a shot at getting your ROI in good time frame, but everything after that starts to look like a daily grind to squeeze out any profit.  I say congrats to the guys who bought the first batches and will likely get rewarded for their risk taking.  Everyone else jumping in now are going to be shocked as their calculations for profits crumble.

If you really think Dash is going that high then now is the time to buy a lot of Dash and hold it.

I have Baikal A900 giants and the profitability of those miners has fallen to almost nothing already regardless of the algo that they support.  By next month if things don't change those miners may be lucky to break even after cost at this rate of decline.

It is time for a reality check on the expectations for these miners.    Ask someone who is mining X11 right now what the picture looks like already.

I bet Bitmain will delay batches to release late September. They will announce, "Driver issue. More testing!"

Have they done something like that in the past?

The l3+ were delayed too
354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: D3 October Batch! Worth it or not? on: August 08, 2017, 11:51:33 AM
Hi,

So I placed an order for D3 october batch. As we know the difficulty is increasing like crazy. Do you guys think it'll be worth paying for a D3 right now that ships in October? What do you suggest the Average daily profit would be by Oct/nov 2017?

10-16 a day early november b4 november batch of d3 not inc power with dash at 200 a coin.
355  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: WTF just happened! Bitmain D3 on: August 07, 2017, 09:03:51 AM
I wonder if we'll see a D3+ soon.

There will prob be a l4 or s11 b4 that happens.
356  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain looks like they're releasing a 15GH/s DASH miner called the AntMiner D3 on: August 07, 2017, 08:59:57 AM
Are they announcing when these batches go on sale anywhere?  I think I could risk it at the reduced price if another batch came up with the same shipping time frame.

They announce it - on their twitter feed and with LESS THAN 24 HOURS ADVANCE NOTICE more often than not.
Same as recent announcements on the L3+ and the S9 (but the S9 takes more like a DAY to sell out, not less than an hour).

The link below they announced it like 3 hrs before on twitter...so I'm watching it now..but about 2hrs till 5 am China their time...so unless they forgot to announce it on twitter 3 hrs ahead....like last time.it is unlikely..they will have anything today ....nothing on the feed below

note on the link below the time they announced it and the time the hit the world ...lol...man zoom, zoom about 3hrs notice on the last batch of stuff out the door

https://twitter.com/BITMAINtech?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Eauthor

Anyway, at least I know about this feed now and can lurk...I'm still unsure if it makes any sense (god help me I'd need a price pump of LTC to 75 bucks and equiv for other
pow scrypt alts) .....at approx 2,900 bucks with electric for 1 year and shipping etc......damn.....

but I need the equip depreciation big time...so I MAY gamble on 1 more unit (always a tail end Charlie that ROI's months behind everyone else as my clue to stop buying stuff
..it's a crummy system..but it works...I always have to walk into a wall on the last unit of any particular ASIC equip before I go 'Nevermore' etc)

what the hell its 2 am CST watching Bitmain play the tease..at least...keeps me off buying crap off of eBay .out of boredom...

(I really, really need a life) Sad

later

Their site has changed, now they dont say " coming soon"  it just says sold out on a few of their miners.Maybe their sick of people asking them when is soon or maybe they have new models on the horizon and wont release any more batches of some of the old models. I think there will be new models of something by December.
357  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmain drops price of D3 for second batch by $1100. WTF on: August 07, 2017, 08:09:10 AM
means bitmain thinks one month you will get $1,100 less

More that Bitmain wants to drive the competition out of the space - like they did for quite a while on SHA256 (Bitcoin) miners, then reaped much higher profits on the late S5 batches, the S7, and the first several months of the S9 due to no competition (Caanan isn't really competing, higher price/H and less efficient - the only reasons they can hang are better record for reliability, better support, and Bitmain couldn't sell enough S9 units to make the A721 and A741 unprofitable).

I think the only reason they're not being hyper-aggressive on the pricing of the L3+ is that Innosillicon isn't being aggressively competative - again, lower performance lower efficiency higher cost per hash but better reliability record and not enough L3+ production to drive profitability down - keep in mind that even the older *A2* and Alcheminer / Titan units are high profitability at this time.

X11 is a noticeably smaller network hashrate though than SHA256 and Scrypt compared to the hashrate of a single miner - Bitmain likely CAN drive profitability down enough to matter in a few months - but if the A5 meets it's specs, they may be cutting their OWN throats there unless they have a "next gen" smaller process node chip in design already (The D3 is rumoured to be 28nm, but Bitmain has never actually specified it anywhere I can find - it did show up fast enough that it might be NON-OPTIMISED 14/16nm).

IBeLink did finally put a price on the DM22G in their shop - $6000 - they might have to drop that if they want to stay competative with the D3, but given the stated efficiency figures, they might be prefering to play a longer game and target the A5 instead.

Where is the price of 6000$? The $6000 on their site is for the 10.8 gh current model.
358  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Time for iBeLink to Win Hearts of Miners on: August 06, 2017, 04:05:35 AM
Ibelink will announce new 22 ghs miner for 22 thousand dollars great deal.  Grin

I thought the page said 6k
For 22gh

https://ibelink.co

I was joking about the 22k ,but the 6k  price is for DM11G which hashes 10.08 ghs thats the old model . They have not announced a price for the new model DM22G yet.

Resellers are already selling dm22g pre orders for 12k , I wouldnt believe thats even close to the real price so wait for the official price from ibelink.co

I dont get it, who makes these gpu chips
360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Time for iBeLink to Win Hearts of Miners on: August 05, 2017, 11:51:28 PM
Ibelink should have recovered a lot of its initial expenses in designing and manufacturing their new chip. Now all they need to do is sell these same chips in their dm22g and upgrade packs, which they are. So especially with the upgrade packs they just need to sell them to existing dm11g owners for cheap , which they can if they want loyal happy customers.

They could even ask for the original modules to be returned and replaced with the new ones that hold more of the same chips to reduce their upgrade costs. This upgrade ability is something no other miner has which is a bonus for ibelink to be competitive. Each of their miners prob has some sort of unique identication , they just have assign a certain number of upgrades to a machine so people dont just buy the upgrades and use them to build their own miner on the  cheap.
