I've been thinking if it would be possible to setup some sort or proxy for Bitcointalk,

ChipMixer suggested somthing similar. BitcoinTalk Pro account - no Cloudflare proxy?

It looks like theymos just wasn't sure how to implement it so it doesn't get abused.
3402  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BPIP problems on: June 08, 2018, 09:33:16 AM
The update user now feature is already there:

I used it quite a bit as the Coinhive donation method seemed like a good way to help Vod fund the site. It does seem to have stopped working for the moment though.
3403  Economy / Reputation / Re: Sign a Staked BTC Address - Get a Merit on: June 08, 2018, 08:33:31 AM
The problem with that is my staked address is from a 2013 wallet which I have possibly compromised by claiming all the forked coins from. I don't think it's a practical requirement.
My staked addy got compromised when I copied the private key into Google Sad
But indeed, I didn't think about Forkcoins when writing this. Even so, I trust a funded staked address more than an unfunded address.

My opinion is that whatever ever you do, staked addresses can't be effective against account sales. They are effective with hacked accounts though. The age of the staked address is far more important than it being funded particularly with accounts older than the 2015 hack.

Example https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=996318.msg39496681#msg39496681

2013 account stakes an address 2 days ago. A quick look at its posts and it used to post only in Chinese until going to sleep in 2014. Then it wakes up in 2017 and only posts in English.

Accounts that were farmed and sold post 2015 could well have been sold with an email address and private key by the more sophisticated account farmers. Merit is the way that business has been stopped.

Nevertheless, since the faucet provides a free service and I have not deposited any of my own funds, who am I to really complain?

That's really the whole point of what we are doing. Those that do deposit and play fund everything we give away to those that don't. We think it is fairer that they get a bigger share of the rewards.

Am merely providing my opinion and feedback. But some increased transparency in this matter would be much appreciated. Thank you.

It's a very dynamic thing, we have to monitor how much we giveaway and make sure it is less than we have coming in. I'm not sure how much more transparent we could be.
3405  Economy / Reputation / Re: Sign a Staked BTC Address - Get a Merit on: June 08, 2018, 07:24:26 AM
No... an address only isn't enough. You need to be able to PROVE that you own/control that address. You do that by signing a message from that address. By signing the message, it is then impossible to change it later, as it will break the signature and invalidate the message.
To stop account buyers from just buying an account including private key to the staked address, it would be good to require funds in the address before considering anyone the real owner.
If the new owner puts 0.1BTC on the staked address, the seller can take his funds. I value a funded staked address more than an unfunded one.
(disclaimer: my own staked address isn't funded)

The problem with that is my staked address is from a 2013 wallet which I have possibly compromised by claiming all the forked coins from. I don't think it's a practical requirement.

It allready opens in new window..

It's a Jr. Member with 154 activity and 0 Merit. They've never even seen the +Merit button and probably have no idea what Vod was talking about when they decided to quote and agree with him. Some scammy campaign still paid them to post it though.
3408  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: June 07, 2018, 12:46:35 PM
what is the minimum Deposit

We don't have one so the network dust limit of 546 sats applies but that'll cost half as much again in Tx fees.
3409  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: June 07, 2018, 12:12:51 PM
you wrote that lottery gives x 20 explain how to increase the bonus if you do not mind to share the experience!!!

This is not an official recommendation but what I personally would do.

Deposit at least $50 worth of Bitcoin. If your balance is over $100 there is no annoying captcha to solve. You'll get interest as well, I personally get more from the interest payments than from the free rolls.

If you don't want to do that then I would play Hi-Lo using a low multiplier. That means you are less likely to lose each bet and have a good chance to wager the same Bitcoin over and over again. You still might lose but the chances of not losing are significantly better than 20x the lottery.
3410  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: June 07, 2018, 11:56:58 AM
Would the base prize reduce back to 26 sats if someone doesn't bet after a while?

Only if they keep claiming the free rolls. It's a ratio of free rolls against wagered so everytime you do a free roll the % goes down a little and everytime you wager it goes up.
3411  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: June 07, 2018, 11:55:03 AM
one of the things I like about this site is the investment part of it, unlike other gambling sites this investment has nothing to do with gambling so it is risk-free, you only have to trust the website with your bitcoin. which is possible since there is a very long history for them.

I finally reached 0.01BTC profit today after about 6 months of having fluctuating balance there. next goal 0.1BTC.

That's a nice total so far. I have a mixture of investments as well as this. Since the market went quiet I'm getting less than 4% on margin lending on exchanges so I've moved some of that here. You can't really compare to the bankroll investments as they can go down as well as up.
3412  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: June 07, 2018, 11:40:40 AM
Then explain why I'm spending more than 1,000 Satoshi on the lottery.

I don't know, is it because you wanted to?

That post I linked to explains all the different things that are included in the calculations. Customers with higher balances and that wager more get bigger free roll payouts.

I offered to help people, suchmoon tagged me for it. read reference, read title of my thread.

Only because you've edited to say something else. You were originally offering to relieve people of 0.01 BTC for what you described as a "red tag removal service". That's what you got tagged for.
3415  Other / Meta / Re: Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ on: June 07, 2018, 10:44:14 AM
It depends from each mod interpretation.

Yes, it's this. You need to clear it up with the moderator of the board in question.
3416  Economy / Marketplace / Re: List of stuff you can use bitcoin for. on: June 07, 2018, 10:36:55 AM
If you're still updating this you could add protonmail.com and protonvpn.com to the list.
3417  Other / Meta / Re: Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ on: June 07, 2018, 10:17:25 AM
If there is only one old topic with the same theme, then creating a new one will be to violate rules?

The title of this thread "Unofficial list of (official)....". It's all down to individual interpretation. Does someone see the thread and think it is a spammy duplicate and report it or not?

But for now, I'll deposit and then play. I am in India, can you please advise me that how can I invest on the site?

I don't know which exchanges are available in India but you need to buy one of the 10 coins supported on the site and then click the deposit button.

According to my level, I never reached the number of faucet request in 24 hours. Before that, I tried once and I got a warning for that and since then I never reached.

I don't think it has got anything to do with how many faucet claims a day you have. It's how many times you have won from the faucet and then withdrawn. That faq I quoted is quite clear that the faucet is there to allow you to try out the games before depositing, not use as a source of income.

For now, what should I do?

Contact support using the link at the bottom of the homepage and they might be able to confirm if my guess is correct.
3420  Other / Meta / Re: Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ on: June 07, 2018, 09:26:04 AM
Thanks. In fact, I'm more interested in point 2. Topics with a similar theme (and different content) are deleted in the Russian board, with reference to rule 12. And it is recommended to write your post in the existing topic. I just want to know, is there same practice in the main boards?

(sorry for my English grammatic)

There is but there are so many that they don't all get reported and trashed.
