3401  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The First Bullish & Bearish Market I Met. on: September 25, 2022, 11:25:59 PM
Been with a couple of major bull runs and dumps since 2014. Actually, I am already familiar with bitcoin from November 2013 though I brushed off the idea since I am still busy on some things then. 2014 is when I started this account and began being involved directly with bitcoin. Did some emotional sells back then too, and that is how I learned to not sell at a loss after seeing bitcoin recover and reach higher highs over time. Lots of regrets and lots of stress, but learned a thing or two that I still apply today.

The most memorable bull run for me I guess is from $190 to $1400 then back to $700. Crazy times and everyone was hyped.
3402  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My worst day in gambling on: September 25, 2022, 10:51:33 PM
If there's such a thing I guess it would be the time when I won a great amount but can't claim it because the casino had already gone under. I forgot the casino name, but this was a few years back playing roulette. Managed to win 0.50 btc when price was @ $1800 or something. I was happy back then but can't withdraw because I'm not using my own device and I don't have any copy of my btc address anywhere. Had to go home and perform withdrawal, but once I got home, casino is no longer searchable online and they just performed an exit scam. I'm fine with losing my money, but hoping that you'll get something only to get shut down is on another league.
3403  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Name the biggest problem/reason why aren't there more folks coming on Web3? on: September 25, 2022, 10:05:30 PM
Not a lot of solid implementation and use-case makes Web3 a buzzword and a hype word other than anything. Most web3-related content I've seen either requires someone to pay for it through tokens, or just plain concepts on how it will shape the 'internet of the future' or something like that. Right now though the rest of the world is still in web2 and is doing fine. Web3 is just a term used by coin develoeprs to hype what they are going to release and nothing else.
3404  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: September 25, 2022, 07:16:25 PM
Mark Marquez released an interview at the end of the race and he said he feel no pain in his arm.
He got 4 surgical operations until now from the accident.

The next week they will have another race and if it will be confirmed with no pain I think we can put Marquez as favorite for the next year championship without any doubt.

Dude's extremely tough and ballsy given his age and the amount of injuries he accumulated over the years of racing for MotoGP. That crash doesn't seem to be that bad but for sure the amount of stress it had on his left shoulder upon impact must have been really great. Marquez even went so far as to just having his left arm feeling "lazy" and even wanted to attack Oliveira several times during the race. He's a legend that still keeps on giving, and hopefully he gets full recovery before the start of next week's race.
3405  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you think blockchain gaming technology will have evolved by 2030? on: September 25, 2022, 06:13:39 PM
People tend to gravitate more towards things that they are more familiar and comfortable with. Blockchain gaming has been around for years and some big projects just slowly died out and the conventional games that we have for years are still going strong. People still don't understand the concept and doesn't care much security and immutability, but rather on other things such as availability and simplicity of the games that they want to play. It needs to develop even further to the point that it is dumbed down and people understand it fully to take a chance on it.
3406  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nobel prize for Satoshi. on: September 25, 2022, 05:57:53 PM
I don't think Satoshi would even pass the initial screening. The criteria from their initial screening for nomination is strict, and also there are only a handful of entities that are allowed to nominate, and most of them belong to organizations that bitcoin isn't being taken as something good for their agenda. Sure, bitcoin may have been one of the revolutionary creations in the 21st century, but is its impact enough to be qualified into Nobel's selection process? Satoshi deserves some recognition from what they created, but I think a Nobel Prize is one that they wouldn't receive.
3407  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you invest in micro cap altcoins? on: September 25, 2022, 05:02:48 PM
I've tried investing on some and managed to get 20-30% max on them. They are very risky and extremely susceptible to all manipulation techniques. Also, there is a huge possibility that you will be buying on someone's stash and they can easily dump their coins on to you and you will be left with bags that cannot be sold to anyone. If I were you, I'd just go and invest on some new projects with low market cap and hope to make it big from them. That's less riskier and even more reliable than throwing your money on some projects that people have no interest on.
3408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch To Ban Gambling Streaming By October 18th. on: September 25, 2022, 04:36:29 PM
GG. I wonder if any influencers will be able to migrate over to Odysee or some such platform that isn't subject to such hostile takes.

As YouTube, Twitch and other such Big Tech platforms clamp down, it would be nice to see decentralized blockchain tech, like Odysee, step up and take that part of the market share for that very reason.

It would be a great move, although the deal breaker is the lack of support from the viewers that will obviously not get there immediately. Odysee is a great platform with ample features for creators but not too attractive to lure in new viewers. Just look at their website and see that it is jam-packed with tons of creators wanting it big and start on platforms that isn't YouTube or Twitch. If they somewhat amp up their marketing and do something to get in new viewers that would be great for everyone.
3409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Twitch gambling problem and Sliker issue on: September 24, 2022, 11:59:24 PM
Yeah, i just recently read a mews regarding the banning of gambling streams in twitch. This is bad news to all streamers who use twitch as their platform although not that huge to affect gambling community.
But since it still next month, creating another account to other alternative platform and start building its influence as streamers.

The way this panned out is honestly sad. Sliker just showed how problematic gambling can be, and the fact that he messaged lots of his followers and some streamers for money in order to continue his gambling content is just the last straw that Twitch needs to see before they call the decision. I mean, if this didn't happen, we still probably would see gambling streamers but oh well, Twitch is involved and they have to do what they need to do.
3410  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Binance trading activity is 13x larger than any other exchange on: September 24, 2022, 11:11:46 PM
Not really surprising though. A lot of local traders here has since shifted to binance and they are making a lot of volume on that platform than anyone else. Also, given that Binance is servicing a lot of people around the world, it's not surprise that they are at the top of the game. Their marketing are subtle and they get new traders/people by word of mouth. Never had problems with binance whatsoever ever since I started using it. You can also add that the planned DEX by a lot of people look really underwhelming in all aspects, hence why people still choose Binance, a CEX, compared to any other platforms out there.
3411  Economy / Economics / Re: Argentina to Hike Interest Rates to 75% as Inflation Nears 100% on: September 24, 2022, 10:33:49 PM
Wow that is extremely high. I know a lot of countries are already bracing for this ongoing high inflation rate around the world, but not at that rate which Argentina expects it. That's an extremely tight measure that they are implementing, but when your country is cursed with extremely high inflation over the past few decades, it is understandable why their central bank already called for this drastic measure. I thought we have it hard here in the Philippines, but seeing other countries' situation, I guess I'm still lucky to be here right now.
3412  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ripple (XRP) goes up, Bitcoin stays flat or even lose value on: September 24, 2022, 10:02:50 PM
I think it's safe to say that it's somewhat bad to invest on centralized coins. Bitcoin is still my main investment in crypto and there isn't anything that will change that any time soon. XRP, for me, is only good for transferring balances from one platform to another, and I'll just convert back to btc/USDT once I got the XRP up in my wallet. This sudden hype around XRP just because they won a case will not equate to a long-term attention to the said coin. Watch it wane slowly as people shift their interests back to the BTC/ETH again.
3413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Go home with a profit and come back to end up losing a lot. on: September 24, 2022, 09:13:14 PM
This is the feeling that I don't like when I win something on a casino. Back then, I always believe that my luck carries over to my next session so I try to bring a lot more money with me and do big boy bets, only to end up losing more than what I profited from my last win. It's an extremely hard mindset to get out of and luckily I managed to move on from that kind of betting activity and just stayed with my weekly casino budget and I've never went over it for the past 2 or 3 years. It's the mentality that gets us betting like idiots IMO, and if you'll be able to conquer this line of thinking and replace it with something conservative, I'm sure that you'll never go broke in your next casino session after a hefty win.
3414  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: September 24, 2022, 08:27:48 PM
-snip
I have taken Hokori +1.5 @1.8 today but for much lower stake than TNC yesterday.

Wait what, only 1.8? Its pretty low. I got 2.24 by taking the draw option. Its best of 2 though so draw basically means the same as +1.5 as well isnt it because to win with +1.5 that means the respective team needs to win atleast game. Yesterday I saw Boom at around 1.35 either win or +1.5 so I thought it would have been the same

This must be your sport really. I also saw the line at a local bookie for 1.74 for draw and I thought it's not worth it given that Hokori has high chances to 2-0 this team. Or maybe because the odds already shifted because a lot has already bet for the same thing. Oh well, good luck to all your bets.

--

Just recently watched the True Sight and I just want to point out that maybe the reason why PSG.LGD always loses in the finals is because xiao8 is acting extremely tensed and seems like a dick towards his team. XinnQ received the bulk of Xiao8's bad manners at the start of the documentary but he still managed to uplift his team's spirits. Xiao8 doesn't even believe in his team's suggestions on picks and just goes for what he only thinks can win the game, making uncomfortable picks for LGD. Hopefully they win this year's TI, it's saddening to watch ame chase for the aegis for so long but only always come extremely close.
3415  Economy / Gambling / Re: How is your casino profile looks like? on: September 24, 2022, 04:41:29 PM
Favorite Casino: Several Casinos and Bookies, especially those that are created mainly for dice (PrimeDice)
Wagered amount: Over $2000
Profit: $0 (I play for fun Cheesy)
Most played games: Dice, Slots
Biggest win: 1.5 BTC on a spin-the-wheel game from a now defunct site, betcoin.tm (also a scam site too)
Biggest loss in one game: $25
Average bet size: $20, weekly.

I also bet on sports and I think that is where the bulk of my winnings are, but I only cover dice and other casino games because I'm not too comfortable sharing what I make and lose from that aspect of gambling.
3416  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can i get banned for Card Counting in online casinos? on: September 24, 2022, 03:22:52 PM
I don't care that much if you are card counting anyway. They have employed a lot of counter-measures against this activity and for sure they already expected that some of their patrons will be doing this. Perhaps if you are successful enough on your card counting they might even invite you and help them provide some feedback that can help them about this Cheesy Most probably they'd just let it slide because they'd just lure you in to playing more and in the end they'll get more from you.
3417  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: What are the most developing play to earn games right now on: September 23, 2022, 11:58:32 PM
Most of the games that I have followed since last year have already cancelled their plans. Plants vs Undead is no longer existing. Axie is a money sink now that you need to craft items in order to get your axies stronger, and the reward is miniscule. Chumbi valley is meh. There literally isn't any promising P2E projects right now and the scene is looking dry. I have given up on the prospects of P2E in the crypto world, and accepted that maybe the concept needs to 'mature' first before we see a good game that is worth investing our time and money on.

P.S., Mir4 is still going strong, but it became more of a serious MMORPG rather than a P2E game.
3418  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Nakamoto- If he ever made himself known what would make you believe it? on: September 23, 2022, 11:26:11 PM
If Satoshi can donate even just a single bitcoin to any charity that the community voted for, with a signed message of course and the funds belonging to any of his 'known' addresses, then I'll believe. Although at this point it's irrelevant to know who the person behind Satoshi is, as bitcoin got bigger and has developed a community that thrives. Also, I don't think there's anything that the government will do anyway. Probably keep an eye out for him 24/7 and that would be a living hell for the man who evaded everyone for the last 12 yrs. But yeah, if one can prove that they are Satoshi, they would know how, and they'd do it without hesitation if they really wanted to let their secret out.
3419  Economy / Economics / Re: US is a ‘developing country’ on rankings that measure democracy, inequality on: September 23, 2022, 10:41:56 PM
The top dogs of the US government work for money and big companies. Not surprising that democracy is faltering from a country that serves as an introducer to democracy and freedom. The country, which supposedly supports democracy, has a political system that does not exhibit this. The battle is always between the reds and the blues, and they aren't even voted through popular votes which is, IMO, a better exhibition of democracy than the electoral college. In terms of inequality, a lot of Americans are still not okay co-habiting with people of color. Heck, this term should not even exist anyway but thanks to the US we have this term to describe non-White Americans Cheesy

Economy-wise, US is far ahead of a lot of countries, but in terms of politics, ideology, and its society, it's really trailing far behind other progressive countries that are not that rich, but knows how to act as one.
3420  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is anyone buying right now because they think we are at or close to the bottom? on: September 23, 2022, 09:58:13 PM
I bought last week when it was $19k thinking that it can't get lower than that. Totally forgot about bitcoin prices and just recently checked and I'm tempted to make another purchase. At this point, the price is very appealing and I'm considering to go crazy and do a large purchase as the bears have been testing to break $19k and $18k but with no luck. Besides. most of what I'll be buying would be kept in a cold storage anyway so I wouldn't mind if it goes lower than my entry price. I wouldn't sell at a loss and I'd rather play the waiting game than to stress myself on the price.
