3401  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 9 Misstatements you'll hear about Bitcoin on the media on: June 09, 2018, 05:26:01 PM
One of the false information is that Bitcoin is a criminal/illegal currency used by criminals for illegal activities and money laundering.
Also, one of the myths is that Bitcoin will bring you only profit especialy if you are patient enough. This one is particulary dangerous because it can cause huge losses with certain individuals. Bitcoin can make you lose your money too.
Another myth is that Bitcoin will replace the banks. Bitcoin is a healthy competition to banks but it will not replace them.
3402  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Would you buy Bitcoin Apparel? (Shirts, Hoodies, etc.) on: June 09, 2018, 11:09:49 AM
This could be a nice idea for promoting Bitcoin, we lack that, although I think it would have limited audience.
But quality clothing with nice and interesting designed Bitcoin details and logo would attract certain number of Bitcoin enthusiasts.
And the persons who are wearing such apparel would have opportunity to further advertise and promote Bitcoin because there would definetely be curious people who would want to.know some more.
3403  Economy / Economics / Re: Know Your Customer on: June 09, 2018, 07:59:38 AM
For exchanges, ICOs that collect KYC information, when are they required to send information to the government.

If I remember correctly, in the US if you make a money transaction, such as through Western Union, or bank, $3,000+, within the same day, or smaller amounts during consecutive days, the institution must collect your ID information and Social Security and report it to the government. I forget which entity of the government.

Does that mean that if one participates in an ICO and puts in over $3,000, that gets reported to the government? Or if you move $3,000 out of an exchange, that gets reported?

Its fine to have kyc as long as it will be implemented before the campaign starts in order for the participants to have the proper preparations, that is the only reason why it should be declared before the campaign starts.

That and because people have to be aware that their personal data will be requested and used and they have to give their consent.
Although KYC actualy helps with protection and like some anti fraud mechanism not all people feel comfortable revealing their identity. But it's hard these days to use any of services anonimously.
3404  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ways to improve Bitcoin Community on: June 09, 2018, 06:47:58 AM
First and the most important thing how to improve Bitcoin community to my opinion is education. We can see that so many users have no basic knowledge and information about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies and in many cases exactly that is the reason for many losses, wrong decisions and activities and also spreading the false information and panic.
Second thing is promotion. Still not enough people are aware of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies and ways they can use them, it's still a lot of work to be done on that area.
3405  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 3000 Bitcoins ATM worldwide !!!! on: June 08, 2018, 02:13:45 PM
At first glance sounds like a great number but if you think twice it's not such a big thing because these are fugures for the whole world. So relatively small number of people in the world is using Bitcoin ATMs.
But I have the feeling they are losing popularity because users have many other ways to buy/sell Bitcoins and ATM are hardly accesible because in every town you have only few of them.
3406  Economy / Economics / Re: How much more fall is possible ? on: June 07, 2018, 07:39:30 PM
This question can't be answered exactly. Price is defined by marr, by supply and demand ratio and in theory price can move up and down without limits. And the corrections in price are part of Bitcoin volatility, so usual and periodical I would say.
Still I beleive that in current correction Bitcoin price will not go bellow 7000$. Probably will stay somwhere between 7000$ and 8000$ for another couple of weeks.
3407  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you approve this strategy: sell alts buy btc? on: June 07, 2018, 10:55:43 AM
Personaly I agree with such strategy but I'm maybe specific because from the very begininig, which is not 5 years, I'm faithful to Bitcoin and still see it as the most profitable and prosperous coin.
But I can understand that some prefere altcoins and want to diversify the investments and use short term opportunities when some altcoins appear. Still on long term Bitcoin is the best choice.
3408  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What service missing in cryptoworld? on: June 07, 2018, 12:12:21 AM
To my opinion we lack good and reliable Bitcoin debit cards providers. After Visa and WaveCrest issues there is a big hole on the market regarding that area that is waiting to be filled. Few current providers and cards available can't filled the apetite of users that is getting biger and biger for that service.
And maybe in the future I would also like to see Bitcoin credit cards but I guess this would be even more complicated story.
3409  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why the facebook, google are banning cryptocurrency? on: June 06, 2018, 07:28:59 PM
This is just another example how people are totaly misinterpreting information. They see and hear what they want to see, taking into account only what they want and not what is realy the fact.
Facebook and other social media are not banning crypto and they don't have nothing against it but they are trying to protect the users from so many fraudulent advertising, moving the responsibility out of them. And cryptocurrencies are not any kind of competition to social media, don't know how some have gotten that conclusion.
It would be realy great if people would finaly start to use the brain.
3410  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which is more risky? Bitcoin or bank investment? on: June 06, 2018, 07:28:23 AM
Both investments have certain risk and you can't count on security but to my opinion Bitcoin is still more risky. The reason for that is high volatility and lack of regulation which often leaves you unprotected in case of some issues.
But no matter to that it's always wise to diversify investments so I suggest to take both Bitcoin and some stock exchange pick, that will distribute and mitigate the risk in certain level.
3411  Economy / Marketplace / Re: What is the most critical moments in Cryptocurrency and Bitcoin history on: June 05, 2018, 06:59:38 PM
The hardest and the most painful moment for me was when I lost 7 Bitcoins. This was few years ago when Bitcoin was worth about 600$ but I was very upset and today this would be a little fortune. But somehow I got over that and realized there is no use in anger and regret but I have to act to try to recover that loss.
And the happiest moment so far was when Bitcoin reached 20000$. At that moment I realy thought that Bitcoin price has no boundaries.
3412  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Any Bitcoin debit card recommendation? on: June 05, 2018, 04:21:25 PM
Reading all the answers I can conclude that at the moment there isn't Bitcoin debit card on the market that users are completely satisfied with and that would fulfill all the expectations. And high fees and poor customer support are the most common issues.
That is sad and it seems there is plenty of space for new providers but it looks like no one is interested or very few. Which is pitty because I have the feeling there is still huge demand for such cards on the market.
Do you think that anything will change soon and that more providers will appear?
3413  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think that other coins move faster? on: June 05, 2018, 12:20:46 PM
I don't think altcoins are moving faster although at first glance it might appear so.
Many new altcoins appear almost each day and some of them have good starting point and it looks they are making the progress but on the other hand that is very often on short term and they can't keep the track. Just rare altcoins have continuity that Bitcoin has so none of them represents some serious competition to Bitcoin.
3414  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: VISA has collapsed on: June 05, 2018, 08:36:28 AM
This has nothing to do with Bitcoin and will not affect the price. And you can't compare Bitcoin system and Visa system, it's completely different way of functioning.
Yes, Visa had some serious technical issues but such problems appear from time to time, not to say they are normal. Bitcoin can't and will not replace credit card issuers, no matter the problems they might having.
3415  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What does bitcoin need to improve? on: June 04, 2018, 07:03:41 PM
Everything needs to improve and evolve in order to survive. The same it's with Bitcoin. From the begininig when it first appeared it has passed a long way with some minor changes but there is still room for improvement.
To my opinion fees are no longer such problem because they are not so high anymore and the miners need their share.
Regulation is now one challenge that Bitcoin is facing and if it's done properly it could help a lot. I.think this is currently the most important issue related to Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general.
3416  Economy / Speculation / Re: Still think it can hit 20k !! be optimistic on: June 04, 2018, 04:25:16 PM
Of course Bitcoin can reach 20000$ again but still there is no guarantee this will happen and we can't now when it will happen.
To my opinion people got a little bit spoiled with that high price and it seems that for many everything below that value is dissapointment. But market is not functioning that way and many different factors should comply together that Bitcoin reaches such high price again. It make take a while before Bitcoin climbs up again so high.
3417  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Whales and pump and dumps have destroyed this market on: June 04, 2018, 11:11:57 AM
I knew it because i already experience it all the time. Whales are so selfish because they only think for themselves not for the sake of most bitcoin users.

Are seriously thinking that anyone else here is less selfish? Whales are no more selfish than the rest of the pack, they just happen to be extremely wealthy. Even those who hold Bitcoin for long term with the hope of a new brave future do that because *they* want to become new money, new wealthy elite. They don't give a fuck about you personally, your well-being, or even Bitcoin itself as soon as it stops being instrumental in achieving their goals, whatever the latter might be.

"They call me new money, say I have no class, I'm from the bottom, I came up too fast".

Exactly, everyone here is selfish and takes care of its own interests. You wouldn't act any different if you were in the wales position. But the world generaly is functioning that way not only crypto world.
You can't blaim wales for the fact that are realy wealthy and you are not. And you can't blaim them for destroying the market, they are not the only elements there.
3418  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Quit cryptocurrency trading its not for you! on: June 04, 2018, 09:06:08 AM
I have to say I fully agree with that.
So many crypto users, mostly those unexperienced and without any knowledge think that trading is the easiest and the fastest way to get rich. And what is worse they think no skills and knowledge are needed. Which is completely wrong and usualy ends up very bad with huge losses and debts.

But the question is are the users only to blame? Or is there general attitude promoted on forums, social media and similar that cryptocurrencies are " the free lunch" you just have to take. With attempts to show only positive sides of cryptocurrencies risks are often forgotten and deliberately hidden which makes the opposite effect.
We have to do more on general awareness and education showing people both, good and bad sides and promoting education and trusted information about crypto world.
3419  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Ways you are using to Promote bitcoins in you Locality? on: June 03, 2018, 05:59:41 PM
I live in relatively small community where not much people are familiar with Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. There are also no places where you can actualy use it like shops, cafes or similar.
But I always speak very positive about Bitcoin and trying to show people on practical example how can they use it, where can they buy it or how to earn it. So I managed to get interested a lot of people to try cryptocurrencies. I.also give them advice and information they can use in practical implementation of cryptocurrencies.
3420  Economy / Economics / Re: "Switzerland wants to be a crypto nation" Economic minister. on: June 03, 2018, 03:11:55 PM
In.Europe Switzlerland and Netherlands are the most cryptocurrencies friendly countries, the conditions and regulations for crypto and users are very convenient.
Still, such attitude towards cryptocurrencies is because they have recgonized the possibilities for profit not because they are fans of Bitcoin.
Switzerland is well known banking country, strongly oriented to make profit from rich clients so I guess they have realized cryptocurrencies are the new area for huge profit they will make.
