3401  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: i need help whis broken wallet.dat on: February 15, 2022, 11:09:28 PM
Would you mind trying wallet salvage?

To salvage the wallet.dat make a copy or another backup of your wallet.dat first before the operation and put it in the bitcoin core wallet folder.
After that run the Bitcoin core wallet -salvagewallet you can put it on Bitcoin shortcut check the image below as a reference

And let's hope it will generate a new wallet.dat that includes your keys and wallet.

Who tells you that Android is safer?

For me, it always depends on how you protect your phone either IOS or Android OS.

The only problem with using IOS iPhone is that they only have a few supported Bitcoin and Crypto wallets compared to Android Devices.
3403  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I lack knowledge pls guide me on: February 14, 2022, 11:57:37 PM
The security of your wallet is actually dependent in you on how you protect your wallet. If you are looking for a high secured wallet the best recommendation is to use a Hardware wallet.

Generating a new address won't compromise anything except if your device or PC is already infected.

Never heard if there is someone who generates a wallet that has already been used by someone but if you are using Electrum wallet it should be unique.
3404  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Transaction History Scan, fails on: February 14, 2022, 11:39:50 PM
Can you try to remove the armory database folder and try to run it again?

If you don't know where to find it refer to this link https://btcarmory.com/docs/pathing

You can also factory reset the Armory you can find it under the menu help follow the guide on this link below for other troubleshooting guides.

3405  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum stuck on synchronizing on: February 14, 2022, 11:02:24 PM
Yes that's right. One of the addresses has thousands of deposits.

That is one of the big reasons why it stuck at synchronizing your Electrum and server-side have default max message size of 1MB that is why you get warning message below

Code:
20220214T211731.809460Z |  WARNING | NotificationSession | MemoryError('dropping message over 1,000,000 bytes and re-synchronizing')

They limit the transaction to around 10k transactions so if you have one address in your Electrum wallet with 10k transactions then you will get that error and it will stuck at syncing.

Are you planning to send some funds from the wallet?

The only solution for this issue is to wait for the updated Electrum Protocol, version 1.5 but they don't release it yet.
3406  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bricked a couple S17 control boards. on: February 14, 2022, 04:51:42 PM
What tool did you use to scan IP?

Take note if you still accessing the old IP it won't work you should scan it again to find the right IP of your miner.

But if you can't still find the IP try to hard reset the miner by holding IP report/reset button for 15 seconds then release.
Then try to scan the IP again.

3407  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: AValon 1246 83T unstable on: February 13, 2022, 11:45:45 PM
~snip~

Actually, I don't know why but if you can give us the whole API logs maybe we can see the issue there.

And what pool do you mine? Take note if you are mining on Nicehash ASICboost pool even their non ASICboost pool expect for the abnormal status of your miner you should mine on other pool. Canaan gears are mostly do not support Nicehash pool so I suggest you try other pools like ViaBTC, slushpool or kano or you can try any pool from this https://miningpoolstats.stream/bitcoin
3408  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S17+ PSU issue? on: February 13, 2022, 11:34:14 PM
I also would like you to try to clean up the hashboard power terminal with sandpaper look at the red part of this image below

Rub the sandpaper on that terminal and metal including the two metal/copper strips connected from PSU and try to run it again. Sometimes those parts have rust/dirt and the power can't 100% flow from PSU to the hashboard and only get a little voltage from PSU. Cleaning it with sandpaper will help to make sure they have 100% connected and to remove rust/dirt.
3409  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: mining on Antpool from Braiins on an S9j on: February 13, 2022, 11:04:49 PM
Hi, thanks for the replies and the information you guys share.  The unit was purchased through Amazon as used.  I tried to figure out how I can return the original image back to the S9j, however I cannot figure out how to put the files to the SD card, since this is not an image.  I download the Disk utility from Bitmain but still not luck.

Thanks!

No, you don't need to download any disk utility just download only t9+-SD Tools.zip and extract the file with 7zip and after that, copy all extracted files and paste them to SD card. Make sure that you have already formatted the SD card as FAT32 and then insert it to the control board SD card slot don't forget to change the jp4 jumper to enable flashing through the SD card.

If you can't follow my guide then try to follow the whole guide here "S9 series (S9, S9i, S9j, S9 Hydro) Control Board Program Recovery"

Once you've done flashing with that firmware go back to bitmain download page and look for s9j firmware and flash it through the browser to revert it back to the original firmware.

Or you can flash it directly with S9j SD card recovery image.rar extract them and paste it to SD card this time you don't need to flash it through browser because that is the default firmware for this unit.
3410  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor Suites finally replaced old Trezor browser interface Trezor Wallet on: February 12, 2022, 11:51:08 PM
Correct me if wrong, electron can not store so erc20 tokens/coin or is not a milty chain wallet, I have been using trusth wallet all this while but will like to use electron since I can easily sign a message using electron wallet.

Are you talking about Electron wallet(BCH wallet) look at him he is talking about Electrum(Bitcoin wallet)?

Anyway, any of these wallets do not support ERC20 but if you are looking for a wallet that supports ERC20 I do recommend Metamask.
3411  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wanting to cash out at ARC on: February 12, 2022, 11:39:13 PM
There is no wallet like that all wallets need exchanges before you can able to exchange Bitcoin and transfer fiat to your bank account.

So you can use any non-custodial bitcoin wallet you want but if your problem is the sending fee or transfer cost use Electrum wallet because exchanges withdraw fee is a bit higher compared to Electrum where you can manually set how much fee you want depending on the network status.

Please read the sticky thread [General] Bitcoin Wallets - Which, what, why?

It seems that ACR is a gambling site most of the Exchanges do not support funds from Gambling casino so I think it would be better if you use mixer or use P2P exchange for safety if you want to withdraw them to your bank account.
3412  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is Plaid Required for Coinbase Bank Account Verification? on: February 12, 2022, 11:07:50 PM
This is an old issue with Coinbase look at this Reddit below

According to other users, the issue might be your bank, depositing to your Coinbase account is blocked by the bank. That is why they do recommend you to contact the bank first and report the issue and ask if it's allowed to deposit and buy Crypto.

Or if you need some clarification about your issue directly contact Coinbase support.
3413  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Avalon 1246 low hashrate on: February 11, 2022, 11:44:59 PM
i ran the FMS tool v 2.3.3 but could not find an aging tab.

You downloaded another version of FMS tool v2.3.3 the link that I provided from the other posted by HagssFIN above should be the right version of the FMS tool with the aging button there are two v2.3.3 the one do not have an aging button and the other one have an aging button.

I found that i need to track the BAR percentage in the log.. so far it is 24% so looks working Grin

Let's wait for the result it actually takes time because it scans for the best frequencies for your miner. After it's done send this command below to reboot the miner.

Code:
[{"command":"ascset", "parameter":"0,reboot,0"}]
3414  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase Confirm Your Info Email? on: February 11, 2022, 11:21:01 PM
That's very bad if you currently have funds in your Coinbase account anytime soon they can put your funds on hold and suspend your account if you directly withdraw your funds from a Gambling or casino site that is prohibited.

If you have funds in a Coinbase account I'd like to suggest withdraw your coins right now and transfer them to the non-custodial wallet before you verify your info again in Coinbase.
And then after Coinbase verified your account again only transfer a small amount gradually to make sure you won't lose so many funds if they decided to put your account on hold or suspended.
3415  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Any QT wallet recovery / Bitcoin wallet recovery on: February 11, 2022, 03:15:12 PM
No one will take your offer because it's too expensive than the offer from walletrecoveryservices.com

And it seems you don't know walletrecoveryservices only ask for extracted hash from wallet.dat file for safety purposes and without sending the wallet.dat file.

So it's obvious that you are trying to fool and scam someone here on the forum.
3416  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question on: February 11, 2022, 11:02:43 AM
I agree with Daniel91 it depends on where you live.

If the above is right that you are living in Afghanistan you must get help in your local section here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=241.0 and then ask for available legit exchange in your country for local exchange.

But before you do that you must learn first about how does cryptocurrency works because if you don't have knowledge about them like the above said you will lose your coins.
I suggest you watch this video for the cryptocurrency full course here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgjZ2fHg4y4

So far the only exchange I currently use is Binance P2P because they have many available options to exchange your cryptocurrency(Digital money) into FIAT through Bank debit/credit card or via wire transfer and many other options available and I think most Afghanistan people are trading on this exchange so I'm sure you can easily exchange your crypto to cash. The only problem is you need to be a KYC verified before you can able to use their P2P service.
3417  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Chip temperature - Avalon 1166 Pro 81TH on: February 11, 2022, 10:32:16 AM
Do you have any idea of the maximum chip temperature for a 1166 Pro 81TH; on the Canaan website we can only find the user manual for the 1146 Pro and the maximum chip temperature is 85°C

Thank you

If you go directly on the detail page of 1166 pro under documentation you will get the 1146 pro manual that's the only manual they have for this unit.

So yeah the maximum temp of each chip is 85°C more than that the hashboard will be disconnected automatically and you will notice the drop in hashrate.
3418  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Buying used Miners on: February 11, 2022, 12:50:33 AM
Are you looking for a used/2nd hand Antminer that could mine ETH? Bitmain doesn't release yet any miner that could mine ETH so you can't buy any 2nd hand ETH miner.

They have planning to release a new one this year but I don't think that you can buy it for $4000 I believe the price will be higher than that.
3419  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Chip temperature - Avalon 1166 Pro 81TH on: February 11, 2022, 12:24:55 AM
I tried aging using FMS once before, but how long does that procedure last? It was quick, is that normal?

Maybe I should use the command [{"command":"ascset", "parameter":"0,aging-set,1"}] instead of clicking on aging?

I don't know if it will save permanently but based on someone's experience that I heard it after the miner restart/reboot the issue goes back again but their issue is related to fan speed command, not on aging. So why not try to send that command again or use the aging button?

That command above or the aging button is automated tuning you can also manually play on the parameter like this command below

Code:
[{"command":"ascset", "parameter":"0,aging-parameter,60-537:562:587:612"}]

The parameter above is for frequencies I don't know if you can change them you can try to play the parameter depending on which hashboard is affected by overheating.
The whole guide on how to apply this parameter is here

Now I remember you who ask for a list of FMS commands.
3420  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitex.financial -- SCAM or TRUSTWORTHY ? on: February 10, 2022, 11:50:03 PM
The domain is 2 and 1/2 months old which is pretty early to decide if it scam or not but for me, I couldn't trust a new website maybe after a year with already reputation here on the forum.

Look at the whois

Code:
Domain:bitex.financial
Registrar:NameCheap, Inc.
Registered On:2021-11-24
Expires On:2022-11-24
Updated On:2021-11-29

It's also registered on Namecheap and all other details are private.

Another thing that I noticed is that after checking the whole source code of that website it's a WordPress website and it is designed with a plugin Elementor to make it looks like a trading site. I never heard of any trusted exchange site that uses WordPress except for other exchange that only uses WordPress for blogging purposes.

How did you find this website?

Based on their Off-page SEO or backlinks record they only have 1 recorded backlink so not yet been posted to any website but they already got 50k visits according to similarweb.
