Maybe I should clarify, encryption is not enough ....

Let's assume that those on this forum are quite knowledgable about encryption. That's fair. So this is a decent place to discuss the subject.

I'm willing to post a simple encrypted message, and to the first that breaks it, ....1 bitcoin.

Must pay 0.001 BTC in advance entry fee and notice they will try.

All out in the open and public.

If you read here you will see why in the end the encryption won't stop surveillance.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5126073.0

While I wouldn't go as far as to say it requires a state level actor to access, it certainly requires advanced technical skills. That said, a lot of individuals and groups are more than capable.

Frankly, my offer stops the argument that "encryption isn't enough."

I'll leave it open until 4-15-19.

You cannot destroy Sharia Law without destroying the Quran and the Hadiths.

How can you welcome Muslims and destroy Sharia Law?  If you start banning parts of the Quran or Hadiths, you will turn all non-Islamists Muslims into Jihadists and Terrorists.

This ideology cannot be reformed.  No word in the Quran can be changed.  Just talk to any Muslim if you don't believe me.

They think that the Quran is the word of God and humans have no right to change it.  ....

I get the impression from ex Muslims on reddit, that change is possible.

Insuring that user privacy is respected by the likes of Facebook would require inspection and surveillance of their operations, unless....

Data from you to your friends, transiting through them... was encrypted by a method unbreakable by them, not of their making or control.

AND...

Your very identity, from the point of logging on their system to exiting it, was concealed.

Our hardware is compromised, so encryption is meaningless, to some extent yes even on air-gapped systems. Also with Facefuck you never actually exit their system. The same goes for Googlag as well as others.
Your first point, from the premise does not the conclusion follow. Who may have hardware access is one of many perps, and they do not share.

Your second and third may be true, but that only illustrates that my point is valid.

Yet for example if I create the circumstances, as a test...where Anon X attempts to enter FF, and exit, repeatedly...and FF rejects or blocks him...
3405  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why so many people say "Muslims are terrorists" Should we say that? on: March 30, 2019, 12:05:31 AM
Like any other supremacist doctrine, every believer is a possible project to be a terrorist.
To make things more clear, terrorist is not just the one explosing himself in in a crowded street. Some others use the Islamic ideology to marry four women or marry children.
Because Islam is more than a simple religion for Muslims, considered as their life guide, they are terrorist.
By the way, am from an Arabic country, I experienced Islam for my whole life.

Exactly Islam is not only a religion but a political system. Christianity had a reformation process and separated the state from religion to a large degree. Islam has not gone thru this process. Until Muslims are willing to abandon the political system aspect of Islam, at least in foreign nations not already under Sharia, then there will continue to be conflict, war, and yes more attacks on Muslims.

+1

More like a mafia or a criminal gang.  You cannot leave it without some dire consequences.

This may indeed be so, but now we have a drift of this thread in a direction of agreeing with the straw man argument initially proposed by the OP.

I cannot agree with that, because I know that were I to be boots-on-the-ground fighting Islamic terror, to my right and left would be Muslims, and they would be good. I see your point of view, just can't group them all together in such a fashion.

Hmm... Sounds like Article 13 is a weapon against people with a great sense of humor and a heart full of joy...

 Smiley

Are you referring here to promulgated, authorized, approved humor and joy, or some despicable, degenerate independent, unauthorized, unapproved humor and or joy events?

3407  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why Mark Zuckerberg wants no privacy on: March 29, 2019, 11:42:36 PM
Encryption seems great for security and may if it's creates a peer-2-peer link, but given their disregard for privacy and data custody, we'll have to see.

I think only once there is a truly large scale demand and adoption of privacy focused or rather data custody focused tech, will we see big tech really adapt.

But privacy will be monetized.

We really need large scale privacy focused tech and there are definitely a few key players that are doing the work. All of these true cypherpunks are making huge strides in taking the internet back into our hands. Whether it be Satoshi or David Chaum mentioned in the article

Somehow using the word "aim" is subconsciously a confirmation, to me, Article 13 is a weapon...

Sure it is. Just not against memes.

You misunderstand.

It is not a weapon against progressive and Leftist memes, just a weapon against those memes which are pro-Trump or which may be construed as right-wing, alt-right-wing, Neo-right, or which offend the tender sensitivities of the snow flake censor of the moment.

But you can't just go around saying that All Muslims are terrorists because then you'd need to know EVERY Muslim and be inside each and every one of their heads. Otherwise then you would be ASSUMING all Muslims are terrorists.....

Why don't you look at what people actually say instead of making things up and claiming they said them?

Another word for that is "lying."

CNN?

What's that?

Communist Nincompoop Network.

Oh yeah.

One of the news networks that was complicit in the recent failed coup to take out an elected US President, Donald Trump?

It is inappropriate for us fellow humans to hate and kill each other.

what do you think?

Muslims have been responsible for some 31,500 terror attacks since 9/11.

www.thereligionofpeace.com

....Sure, its wrong to say that all muslims are terrorists.... but i've never heard that anybody said that all muslims are terrorists....

Right, the OP thought he'd be clever and made up what is called the "straw man" logical fallacy.

Are you sure they are Really Muslims? what if it's just a big slander designed by a secret community that wants the world to be chaotic ?

Sorry, I made a mistake.

Looks like the current count of Islamic extremist attacks is 34,792.

3414  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How do you guys feel about the Boeing 737 MAX? on: March 29, 2019, 01:08:55 AM
Will you or have you refused to fly on one?  Any pilots out there that can give us information on the characteristics of this new plane?

My understanding is that it is not the "airplane," but the rules set in the software of the autopilot.

The rules prevent the pilot from taking over and flying the plane manually in some circumstances, within the time frame that is required for successful recovery.

That's of course a recipe for disaster.

....woman lack that confidence to take risk but men are more of risk taker's.

Women perhaps may by nature not take stupid risks that men take.

Of course that disproves the PC concept of "gender equality."

I hope the EU's Article 13 does not forbid funny, innocent and happy memes on this forum.

Article 13 doesn't aim memes.

Relax, man. You are spelling simple words wrong. Look at your topic title.

I am not into the politics of South Africa. But SA is what the USA is becoming.......
This is not true because as SA careens in one direction, the USA also does. The two paths may intersect at times, but they do not wind up at the same place.

Two good movies about SA are Catch a Fire and District 9.

3420  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Degradation of American media on: March 28, 2019, 01:29:08 AM
Hey guys!
I've just found some interesting read written by Rolling Stone columnist Matt Taibi. This guy is talking about the problems of American press that uncovered after so-called Russiagate (and during Iraq military campaign): https://taibbi.substack.com/p/russiagate-is-wmd-times-a-million

It is pretty interesting that once reputable media with probably world's bests journalists, which have a huge amount of money, connections and other resources, can degrade so fast.

It's fascinating that even a writer for the Rolling Stone has figured out that this Russia thing was if not a complete con, a mass hallucination they all bought into.
