3401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Most Expensive Thing Bought with Winnings from the Casino or Sport Bet on: August 14, 2022, 05:03:24 PM
I do have experiences like that, someone owes me money, a member  here in the forum who I got friends with owes me a total of 0.3 BTC, an RL friend owes me around $10k and both did not pay.  It was also part of my collective winnings in gambling years ago.  Despite that, I am still convinced that people are generous and at the same time selfish.

You were kind to have given a helping hand to friends at the time of need when you had it. They say what are friends for but unfortunately the friends have decided to take your winning that you are suppose to use in buying something tangible to remember your winning. Next time you don't have to give people that won't return your money if you want to collect it back. Or you use escrow for such loan.

It is not in doubt that Nigeria and Nigerians are great country and people. We are very resourceful and ready to be a tool for wealth creation because we have the physical strength as blacks and also innovative and creative. We need more support from the government and that is why the youth are not in support of the Assu (Academic Staff Union of Universities) strike. This kills our educational system and more intelligent students going to other countries to school and later work after completing their education, this causes brain drain which has a great consequences on her economy.

Op I think this is the way you would have gone in your post when you brought it to economy. Now I can't say if this post will be left here or find its way to Politics and Society or Off-topic.
3403  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 1$ per day crypto investment plan any good ? on: August 13, 2022, 04:29:00 PM
I love BTC and its the safest of them all but I've made more money from altcoins, to whom it may concern I am sorry altcoins holds the key to higher ROI, my advice is to avoid buying altcoins at the top, wait for big crashes and your money will be safe, altcoins are down 87-98% buying at this price is good and even if the market crashes further it will easily recovers, buying entry is the most important part of investment.

Buying altcoins at the top looks even more secured and guaranteed because they are almost established, known with large community based. Secured coins are good for a longtime investor except for a short time investor only interested in pump and dump for quick profit. If you observe from the current crash, the altcoins trying to recover as bitcoin is hitting $24,470 is the top altcoins like etheruem, BnB etc
3404  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The characteristics of people who are addicted to online gambling on: August 13, 2022, 03:47:53 PM
I still don't know why many persons think that gambling has a revert effects on us especially when it comes religion.

Well maybe it is the condemnation it got from the bible talking about religion. In the bible, Jesus got angry with some gamblers doing that in the synagogue, he destroyed their game and chased them away and those people also form part of the people that were against him and killed him.

They think that as a gambler, you are a bad person and you have the trait of involving in a bad art which had been the way the society sees gamblers.

A reason for this may be that gamblers must times have also been found with doing illicit and dangerous business, at least high percentage of the population and this is why the police trace criminals to such gambling places, this is just what I think but not all gamblers are bad but many also involve in drugs, killings or terrorism.

We gamble to earn and many persons had turned to gambling for a better way to earn without having to work or depends on the government to provide basic amenities. The risk is you either win or lose which had made it difficult for us to continually decide the kind of winning we want.

Yeah this is why I said not all gamblers are bad. Gambling is now used by many as source of support for the family. There many husbands now gambling on the current EPL matches that just started Grin This is an unfortunate situation of the economy.

It's not really good to gamble only to earn money, that's the first criteria why many gamblers become an addicts. Can you tell me how much the percentage of people who actually earn from gambling? I'm curious because of people who gamble with me are suffer from losses, only few people do earn some money. But it's not enough to pay your daily expenses with gambling sources, just extra money.

If you are a gambler, can you really say that you are gambling just for the fun of it and you don't expect money in return? Gambling involves staking money to win additional money.
3405  Economy / Economics / Re: Why aren't people utilising cryptocurrency payment methods? on: August 13, 2022, 02:23:31 PM
but why are those who are currently interested not using bitcoin for payment?

The bitcoin believers are certainly utilizing the bitcoin service for payment and investment but you understand that it is a gradual process and the community still forms a very small percentage of the world population and essentially the youth. It is still a process that is finding it place. For such kind of explosive adoption, you will expect that more countries would adopt it fully.
3406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buying house with fake tokens on: August 13, 2022, 12:42:05 PM
If this is true the buyer should be the scammed victim because no real documents were passed on to him, he sent tokens to owners and he believed that he is the real owner? Where is the proof that he is the owner? Kinda case that gets solved easily in courts.

I think they say you can't put something on nothing and you think it will stand. This means the matter is going to end in litigation in the court. If the seller will confirm and proof that he received some fake token in payment of his house, the buyer may have to forfeit what he has benefited. This is a matter that will be settled in court and the fact it should involve lots of money.
3407  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need suggest on: August 12, 2022, 08:48:28 PM
The sad truth is that it is not all altcoins that are good for investment, some are only shit enough to only get pumped from telegram collaboration of the inner community members, team and developers and they pump it, hype it for you to buy and that is all you hear about them. Some of the coins you have bought will not be able to recover again even if the price of bitcoin increase. Hold on to bitcoin when you think of investment.
3408  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help needed to recover lost 2fa on: August 12, 2022, 06:18:28 PM
In the past too I have had this kind of issue of losing passphrase or something like that and I struggled through it until I got them back where I wrote them like you have recovered some of your 2FA. So I don't know how your chances are but if you keep asking the site to provide you information that help you to login into your wallet, they may not provide that for you but keep asking for what they ask from you to provide because that will show you are the real owner. Try harder to search for it and maybe you can stumble on it. We need to be careful about the KFC and other information we have, they should be written down in a safe and secured place.

3410  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your General Feeling After Playing In Casino In the last 10 session on: August 12, 2022, 04:35:56 PM
I never going to feel that I need a comeback because its definitely can worse the things so the feeling will be simple if I win then its happy or if I lose then it will be sad that's it, I am not thinking about depressed or such kind of thing which can affect me mentally and financially.

When you play for fun you don't feel depressed when you lose and also another thing is if you are playing with a very low bankroll then you won't feel any negative impact of such lose. If we play moderately there won't be depression but taking high unnecessary risk just for greedy mind, we feel the outcome.
3411  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best time to play Slot on: August 12, 2022, 02:58:58 PM
I think that time is not really what get gamblers to playing, although some have mastered certain time to be the times they have luck to win but what is important are majorly two reasons: They are , the cash left to spend and our state of mind. These two factors can contribute to it because when you don't have money , you have no need or desire to go to casino. Also that the state of mindset determines if we are happy to play or not but for the addict these factors may not be considered because they irrationally play.
3412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Problem Gambler Feels After Losing on: August 12, 2022, 09:14:17 AM
I was always a Liverpool supporter in the Champions League final between Liverpool and Real Madrid but sadly I had to finish the game in tears.  I lost betting like 500 dollars for the first time in my life.  To say that this was the largest amount of unexpected losses in my life.  Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah did well that day but Vinicius Junior's finish brought Liverpool fans to tears.

I don't expect whoever lost the bet from that last year champions League final between Liverpool and Real Madrid to feel bad because the both teams are equal to each other, although Liverpool had some many early minutes changes to start the lead early which may be the reason anyone who lost would feel sad. Unfortunately, Real Madrid Vinicius Jr took the chance for them at the second half of the game and that was the only goal thereafter. So you half to take defeat not too disheartening, afterall it was real Madrid playing at the finals and it is risky to bet against Madrid at any finals for the records sake.
3413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Threshold of Loss in Gambling on: August 11, 2022, 04:28:35 PM

Currently, I'm not angry at myself for these losses as they allowed me to gain experience which allows me to think carefully first and then act. As they say, some people get experience for free and others have to buy it.

Not only in gambling that we make losses but in our daily lives too. Sometimes we trust people to help them with expectations that they will return the money given to them as loan back but they fail to bring that back, or maybe that is also considered as gambling. As it is said also that the wise learn from the mistakes done by others.

3415  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Problem Gambler Feels After Losing on: August 11, 2022, 01:52:41 PM
I think the saying for gambling is not to rest until your money is exhausted and I think it is worst if you have gone out of your way to borrow money because you keep playing and chasing your losses to pay back but the harder you try to regain, the more difficult it is to get your money back. An addict never sees anything wrong when he losses , he feels the next game is his turn to win but never get to win and will not quit playing. In the past I have also experienced this kind of behaviour but was able to reduce the level of participation because I was not deeply involved into it.
3416  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: August 11, 2022, 07:29:57 AM
My boss CryptopreneurBrainboss, you fit do anything to help make the thread they very clean?

Abeg make una stay safe and hide una head from those guys only looking for their pucket and calling themselves EFCC. Make una reduce flashy lifestyle and know the friends una dey tell una btt parol and how much una dey hammer because na rat wey dey house dey go tell another for outside say fish dey inside house.
3417  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: August 10, 2022, 05:32:21 PM
Wetin I wan add be say, make you guys try get goods dem dey sell or you get services you dey render. Na the two ways to secure your future and if God wan bless you, him go see genuine ways to place hand bless you.

I no go lie na true talk be dis and your advice make sense well well. OP, I belive say the only sure way wey you fit dey naija here wey hunger no go wire you or small small boys no go dey oppress you na to get things wey you go dey buy dey resale as our brother@ uchegod-21 dom talk or you get one better hand work wey you fit take dey solve people problem and dem go dey pay you. Even God self talk say em dey bless em children through the work of dia hands.

These suggestions wey dey come from una two side concerning how we go take help our self concerning the fallen economy and how e dey affect our pucket and the dollar problem, na so e suppose relate to government.  Government never do anything to help Naira and dem want make miracle just com happen on top am, no be juju be that?

• During the time of Jonathan if we go start from there, power generation been dey want dey go 6k mw and sometimes e go still drop back to 4k mw but today wetin be the generation strength ?

• During Jonathan, fuel price dey around #87 or so.

• During Jonathan, how many borders them close
• etc. I no wan bore una with all the economic indices wey we know wey fit help grow the system and increase GDP.
Refinery nko, for where.

We no produce anything and can't export anything to at least get some foreign reserve but na borrow this government take kill the system finish.  I watch one video wey peter Obi say during Jonathan, Nigeria dey own just 3 trillion but now the thing don waka enter 26 trillion. How dem want make dollar no kill Naira, politicians now dey spray dollar. Make dem rest.
3418  Economy / Gambling / Re: Can anyone did witdrawal YAS.BET ?? on: August 10, 2022, 01:56:03 PM

So do you have a winning that you want to withdraw from another currency or what are you asking for?
3419  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Nigerian System and UK System on: August 10, 2022, 12:50:34 PM
The organ harvesting case of senator Ike Ekweremadu would have been a normal in Nigeria because he is a law maker but the law he makes, caught up with him in UK. I still remember the Nigerian government was not able to jail James Onanefe Ibori (Formal Governor of Delta State) for money laundering but the UK system did that perfectly well and he got his term served out.

The truth of the matter is that most of the politicians in Nigeria go unpunished for most of the crimes they have been accused of committing mostly because there was no substantial evidence against them but this doesn't mean that if the politicians are tried and found guilty of the crimes they won't face the law. Some of the politicians have been arrested, tried, and persecuted here in Nigeria mostly for money laundering and diversion of funds(EFCC).

The Nigerian system is only corrupt, it is not that they can't do a good job in terms of pinning down culprit but they compromise the system base on who you have in the highest level of government. There are abundance of evidence to prosecute many of the allegations but because the system is always corrupt then you won't hear more of such case and for those that were managed to be prosecuted and sent to a prison term, there have been presidential pardon. One time Plateau state governor, Joshua Dariye and the counterpart Jolly Nyame past governor of Taraba State were pardoned from serving 10 years and 12 years jail term after being convicted of stealing 1.126bn naira and 1.64bn Naira respectively. This IMO amounts to waste of tax payers money as it was surpose to be examplary.

There are proper information gathering and information but the spirit of carrying it out is the challenge. It is always in the news that the secret service or the DSS will warn about an eminent attack and yet such attack will happen and people will die and perpetrators will go freely, that is a system that is compromised.
3420  Other / Politics & Society / Nigerian System and UK System on: August 10, 2022, 10:26:36 AM
Just recently , the Nigerian ex deputy senator (Senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice) were arrested in UK on allegation of organ harvesting. It appears the couple wanted to secure a kidney transplant for the daughter in UK who had been diagnosed of kidney failure.

The wife got released while the senator will still be in UK custody till ending of October. The lesson about to be drawn out is that in Nigeria, it is unheard that a local counsellor would be in police custody if you at least belong to the ruling party not to mention a "whole" senator in Nigeria but the UK system works, they have held down different prime ministers to step down for violating their laws.

The difference is that the UK system is judiciously following the law and their law respects no human while the Nigerian system is highly selective, in justice it is very partial.

So do you think Senator Ike Ekweremadu would go the way of ex governor James Ibori, being convicted and confined to serve a jail term in UK?
