3421  Economy / Gambling / Gambit.com - Play Games! Win Bitcoins! on: October 27, 2013, 06:24:11 PM
Many of you have already heard of Bitnopoly.com. We have relaunched it along with 4 new games under a new name and domain:

https://www.gambit.com/

The idea is simple:

- Choose any of our skill-based games
- Choose your buy in amount and if you want to play with Fun Points or Bit Points
- Get paired up against other players and compete for the buy in pot..winner takes all.
- Fun Points are for fun (bragging rights & leaderboard) and Bit Points are for Bitcoin! 10,000 Bit Points = 1 BTC
- Deposit Bitcoin for Bit Points and cashout any time you want.

Registration is Free! We're still in beta, so please contact support with any bugs/questions. We will be doing a larger more widespread launch with ad campaign in a week or two when we're sure all the kinks have been worked out.

We are working on adding more games to the platform over the next few weeks. Please let me know if you have suggestions or games you'd like to see.

We also have an affiliate program for anyone who wants to help us advertise the site and receive bitcoin credit for any users that join the site through your referrals. You can read about the program here: https://www.gambit.com/affiliate

Is this illegal or gambling? No! All our games are skill based and therefore are not considered gambling (gaming) under US law.

More questions? Read our FAQ: https://www.gambit.com/faq

Hope you enjoy the site!
3422  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Suggestions for bitcoin api on: October 24, 2013, 08:46:27 PM
You should look into using alternatives like Bits of Proof or btcd instead of limiting yourself to bitcoind.

from the wiki:

"One key difference between btcd and bitcoind is that btcd does NOT include wallet functionality and this was a very intentional design decision. See the blog entry here for more details. This means you can't actually make or receive payments directly with btcd. That functionality will be provided by the forthcoming btcwallet and btcgui."

so btcd is not an option
3423  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Suggestions for bitcoin api on: October 24, 2013, 04:49:34 PM
We have been developing a bitcoin gaming site that is just about ready to launch. The last hurdle we've been struggling with is a reliable api that works 100% of the time. We were using blockchain.info's api, but have had issues with it in the past not sending callbacks to our site. We switched over to coinbase's api but that also seems to be somewhat untested and unreliable. Probably just need time to work out the kinks in their system, but we need a solution now.

We need the api for wallet creation with callbacks tied to that wallet address so that any btc payments sent to that new address will update the users balance on the site. So each new user gets their own unique wallet address generated and then they can send btc to that address and it will update their balance. We're just processing withdrawals manually right now, but eventually would need an api for sending btc from one wallet to another as well.

Should this just be done with the raw bitcoind api? https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/API_reference_(JSON-RPC)

Are there advantages to using 3rd party vs bitcoind? This api is mission critical for the website so we can't really afford it to work only 90% of the time.
3424  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: bitnopoly.com is a scam!! on: September 06, 2013, 06:24:21 PM
Wow. So you get one report of a scam by a disgruntled troll and you add me to the list of scam sites? What about the 50 people in the coinchat.org bitnopoly channel that play games all day long and I have processed ALL of their withdrawal requests. The full story behind this guy who has reported me is a scam is this:

He created over 50 accounts using yopmail.com email service to get a free 100 Bit Points per account. He then requested withdrawals immediately on each one. I then put in a limit of 500 bit points minimum to prevent his gaming of the system. So then he played games against himself using his 50 accounts to pool the free 100 bit points into one account and as soon as he crossed the 500 bit points limit he requested a withdrawal of 550 bit points.

I spent two days investigating his activities, looking at ip addresses, game logs, etc, and then messaged him on coinchat that I wasn't going to be able to process his withdrawal. He then made up this story of this other account "korven" which has one game played and has rolled the dice 36 times and passed go 6 times. He claimed in coinchat he was 12-0 on that account (which frankly is nearly statistically impossible in monopoly..i dont know anyone else who has won 12 out of 12 games) and that I had reset and deleted all his points and activity. I checked the database and its just not true. I have 0 other complaints from other users, and databases dont just mysteriously choose to evaporate data from just one user account.

Notice how he also says he has no proof from other screenshots of his 12/0 wins, and there are no other users that remember playing any games against him.

Please don't add sites to the scammers list based on ONE single report, when there are dozens if not hundreds of other happy users using the site all the time.

Appreciate your consideration. Feel free to contact me directly to discuss the issue further if you'd like. bitnopoly@gmail.com

Not yet...but soon we hope! Still working out the kinks in the new bankruptcy logic and simultaneously building the platform for more games. Will post in these forums as soon as Bit Points are enabled.
3430  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: new bitcoin game site - Bitnopoly on: August 28, 2013, 03:28:21 PM
ok adding 10,000 points win limit.

We have modified bankruptcy logic so that person who eliminates you gets your assets.

If you guys can, please play a few games with FP and let me know if you see any more bugs. We have finished all the updates, and we are ready to enable bit points games again.

As soon as we've tested it a little more and the community doesnt report any more bugs with the game, bit points will be enabled.

Also we are already working on 2 more games which I think you'll enjoy and we plan on relaunching the site under a new name: bitkix.com

thanks!

I have 3 bugs left that we need to address before I enable bitcoin games. Should be completed by early next week.
3432  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: new bitcoin game site - Bitnopoly on: August 23, 2013, 06:14:04 AM
There is a radio button to set whether or not you are giving or receiving the points in the trade you offering. I will retest this to ensure its working, but yes, you can trade properties and also either give or receive points.

3435  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: new bitcoin game site - Bitnopoly on: August 20, 2013, 08:25:06 PM
Can you just manually confirm my email please? Same username. I tried to confirm again and link would not load still. I would like to deposit and play for $10 or $20 instead of just for nothing haha.

Change the validation url for the email verification so that it includes a "www" at the beginning.

ie: change https://bitnopoly.com/....  to https://www.bitnopoly.com/....

3439  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: new bitcoin game site - Bitnopoly on: August 19, 2013, 07:42:04 PM

Dope, will check it out tonight. One other change that's really strategically important is that if someone gets a charge for a negative balance, they need to resolve this before their turn can end, not before the next one starts. This is important because if you bankrupt a player, you're supposed to get possession of their properties rather than having them revert back to the bank.

How do others feel about this rule? It's never been a rule I liked much. It also makes the game quite complicated because the player has to liquidate everything before giving properties to the other player, so we would need to come up with logic that does this for them if they don't do it themselves in the allotted time. thoughts on this rule? in favor or not in favor?
