3421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NMC] New feature on dotbit.me: Register expired domains on: December 01, 2013, 02:10:41 PM
Hi all,

I've recently been working on a small but rather useful feature on dotbit.me that lets you browse and register .bit domains (namecoin based) that have expired.

As you might know, .bit domains automatically expire if they aren't updated at least every 36000 blocks. A lot of domains are released when people forget updating them and that means there's a lot of interesting domains available. By using the link on the frontpage of dotbit.me you can view, sort in a number of ways and register expired domains.

I hope it will prove useful. Even those of you that run the namecoin software yourselves can use the feature (no login required) as it is not as user friendly to get this into via the software.

Enjoy!

Nice!

Do you know if the namecoin folks have enough money to buy the high level domain yet?

We are about to have more Crypto Millionaires minted than the internet boom.

I said 6 months ago this would blow up in the next 12 months and it would dwarf the internet boom.

So this is a ledger of all the big winners.

My initial $8,000 in ixCoin is now worth ~ $80,000.

I have not sold a single coin yet.

Please state how much is realized profits and how much is still unrealized paper profits.

Let's have some fun!

BTW:  this is but the first wave of Speculative investors.  Each succeeding wave will increase exponentially in strength and duration due to the network effect.

Most say this is a bubble.

The fire has just begun - wait until the media gets behind it!

That's a lot of ixcoin!   Could you donate some coin for development?
3423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] L E G I T C O I N (XLC) on: December 01, 2013, 12:21:01 PM
The whole idea of this coin is flawed.  You don't NEED to add a currency layer onto a coin which has a function.  It already functions as a currency as well and can be divided as much as necessary.

If you don't want to think of it as a coin, then think of it as a client on top of Namecoin.

Do you folks even have a working block explorer?
3425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people create new alt coins? on: November 30, 2013, 05:40:50 PM
why? greed.

most coins are designed for the first adopter to profit tremendously.
3426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: November 30, 2013, 11:00:07 AM
Only one connection? That seems very bad for Ixcoin, it should be able to get its full 8 even if you dont have an incoming port open...

-MarkM-

Yeah...  I was scratching my head on that one too.

I also had to manually set the add node since the seeds in the code weren't available!

Talk about neglect!!!

If folks want to make money in this, they've got to pay their dues.  We need permanent nodes!!!

Have you had any luck increasing the connection count?

Do you have the cloud nodes running yet?

Man... I really hate this community!  I requested a couple days ago for some funds so we can get some permanent node up in the network!   Absolutely no response.   My patience is wearing very thin and I am going to have to take over all development and use my own funds for it!
3427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: November 30, 2013, 12:26:33 AM

Setting up permanent seed nodes - I want to purchase 2 x 2 year contracts for digitalocean droplets for 2 permanent nodes until 2015.

Just wondering, can these be mining nodes or will digitalocean not allow that much resource usage for just $5/month?

No, these are not mining nodes, just permanent peers on the network.   For iXcoin, the mining nodes essentially reside in pools like GHash.IO and Bitparking.   The difficulty of the network is so high that unless you are a large pool, you can't really acquire a lot of iXcoins.

ZenithCoin is a scrypt based distributed crypto currency. The coin has been available for use and mining since June 2013.

The coin has been quite robust for the past 6 months.

There are a little over 2 million coins in circulation.  The exact specifications of the coin can be found at www dot zenithcoin dot com

I am selling ownership of the entire currency and respective applications that include:

(1)  Server and Desktop Client with Source Code
(2)  Block Explorer with Source Code
(3)  Onine Wallet with Source Code
(4)  Domain names zenithcoin (.com, .org, .net )
(5)  Website with Source Code
(6)  Amazon images
(7)  Mining rig including 2 AMD GPUs and mining operating system.
(Cool 1.25 million coins.  The remaining coins have been mined by other miners and are owned by them.   Note: The coin is designed such that 50% of all future coins go to the developer.  This functionality will be disabled when the ownership is transferred.

This is a complete turn key system.  Everything essential is included for you to run your own currency.

You can download the client or use the instant wallet.  Message me your ZTC address and I will send you coins so you can test it out.

Alternate decentralized crypto currencies have had seen a massive price increase lately ( see: coinmarketcap dot com ).  Please check comparable properties when making your bids.

Note:  The name of the coin can be completely re-branded.

Note2:  You will get an Amazon cloud image so that you can instantly deploy this coin into the internet.  You will need to signup and maintain two Amazon cloud instances.

Note3:  Mining hardware is provided so you can continue to mine new coins.

3431  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Namecoin (NMC) - Platinum in the World of Crypto Currencies on: November 28, 2013, 10:22:06 PM
If Bitcoin is to be considered to be gold, then I would argue that Namecoin should be considered as Platinum. Not silver or copper, but the rarest of precious metals, platinum.

Let’s look as some pertinent numbers to bolster the argument...

3433  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [IXC] iXcoin Core Development Fundraising on: November 28, 2013, 03:46:59 AM
Purpose: To generate funds to help pay for core development work.

As you are probably familiar, the iXcoin client has not been updated in over two years. We are currently working on a new version of the software that will bring it current with the Bitcoin code base.

We have a number of developers who are highly skilled and motivated to work on this project. Work has commenced to carefully review and convert patches to create a clean rebase upon v0.8.x.  Once this is complete, we’ll need to do extensive testing and some additional documentation.  After the client is modernized and the network is upgraded, we have exciting plans to further improve the iXcoin protocol.

These operations take time and unfortunately a number of our developers must necessarily split time between paying projects (i.e. their day jobs) and this important work to better ensure the long-term safety and security of the iXcoin network.

It is for this reason that we are requesting donations to help fund this development work.  Funds will first be used to reimburse core infrastructure hosting expenses before being divided amongst the developers.

IXC: xm7RZfDQyiYqFQZ6Q9ZgtSkX9e8uBJ3SLY

We currently have pledges of 25,000 IXC from 2 users: tazman and Vlad2Vlad.

We are trying to reach original developer (Thomas Nakasioto ) for additional bounties but have been unsuccessful.

Thank you,

The iXcoin Development Team
FrictionlessCoin
(looking for additional contributors)

Project Update:  The code has been successfully migrated to 0.8.5.1 and we are currently performing testing and code clean up.

3434  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 1 litecoin is now trading at $146, the psychological effect of mBTC on: November 28, 2013, 03:21:28 AM
There indeed seems to be an effect.

In fact, there are a few alt-coins that play this effect to the hilt.

Best example is of course infinitecoin and devcoin.

Quarkcoin and Tickets are two other coins with just massive printing.

They do certainly have unusually high market caps, but these are actually deceptive and usually sink in the long term due to selling pressure.

But certainly a very good way too perform a pump and dump.
3435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why the loss of confidence in litecoin? on: November 27, 2013, 05:11:26 PM
yeah... I find the price of $28 per litecoin to sure a lack of confidence.

It should be $100 by now.
3436  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LiteCoins on Ebay selling for silly money. on: November 27, 2013, 04:09:34 PM
LiteCoins on Ebay selling for silly money. Is arbitrage a real word. There is something stopping traders from bring down the price.
Or is there a problem with Ebay themselves.

There is a lot of reasons why the price is at a premium.

(1) The speed to get money in.
(2) The cost ebay and paypal charge for the transactions.
(3) The risks the seller has to take against charge backs.

Honestly, for me, just not worth it.  But if you are willing to take the risks, you can make serious money playing the arbitrage.
3437  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: November 27, 2013, 03:45:56 PM
Vircurex + Cryptsy = 20/30 BTC exchanged for IXC each day. Never seen something like this. Maybe next month I will be able to buy some more. Hope you don't make them skyrocket so fast! There is someone very hungry out there!!!

Well lots of stealth buying.  You don't see the buyers,  the bids are completely non-existent.

The asks though are getting taken out systematically.

A very interesting market indeed!
3438  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Namecoin boom is coming on: November 27, 2013, 02:59:32 PM
Look at all these numerous Bitcoin forks - they provide almost nothing over BTC while have far less security. You could argue that Litecoin has half confirmation time comparing to BTC, but it means nothing when thinking about waiting 5 minutes instead of 10 in grocery store's queue.

Only one cryptocurrency that offer something unique is Namecoin IMHO. It has real potential to explode when major browsers (Firefox and Chrome) will add .bit domains support. Just think about casinos, poker rooms, online pharmacies, torrent trackers and many other "rogue" industries that currently annoyed with domain seizures and will be really appreciated with government-independent domain system.

I think you got it wrong as to why this coin is exploding in price.  It has nothing to with the domain name capability.

It however has everything to do with its massive hash rate.

If I were to store wealth,  would I trust it on a network with intermitent network support?

I want a guarantee that the network will have a massively high hash rate and will exists forever.

That is why NMC is up big time.
3439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / HELP REQUESTED - New iXcoin 0.8.5.1 based client on: November 27, 2013, 02:54:16 PM
Hello,

Pool operators,  I have updated the iXcoin client.  It hasn't been updated since back in 2011.

Anyway,  I need your help to test out the code for merge mining.

Please PM me.
3440  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: November 27, 2013, 02:51:27 PM
Okay,  I'm ready to test the new client out for merge mining.

Any recommendations on how best to do this?
