3421  Economy / Auctions / Re: AUCTION: 3 x AMT 1.25ths 4u RackMount Miner Auction on: August 14, 2014, 12:42:09 PM
I have been around for a couple of days, trying to learn more about bitcoin and mining and eventually get my shit together and invest in some hardware. All I can read is how users here hate on all of the companies they initially buy miners from. I am amazed how much hate accumulates in just one single thread and how all of the users like myself, who want to EDUCATE THEMSELVES, are not able to do so, because all of you are so damn busy spilling shit on everything anyone tries to post about and one should go through 200 pages of loathe to read the one single post that is actually helping somebody learn something.

They are selling the miners they advertise. Maybe they are not really well aware of how a bidding works. HELP THEM OUT! It won’t hurt and you will benefit from it for sure. If you browse their official thread, you will see that they have been actively responding to comments coming from people who have received their machines. It’s not like they’re hiding or something. This forum is turning into some virtual form of high school where bullies are overcompensating for lacking attention at home. Geez, people… And most of you have the skills and knowledge to actually help others out.

No offence, but maybe if AMT_minerLESS took the time he spent on making this meme to respond a question, there would be more people developing their ideas and all of us could benefit from.

Ok, thank you.

I meant their thread is censored

Ok, then right after this block.

I hope so

Armory should be up next

We need some kind of p2pool connection quickly.

If we don't find this block we give up all work for the past 30 days.

Html 5 may allow usb someday. I know Chromebook is working on it.

also, when I first hooked up the trezor, nothing popped up to install the bridge (like the instructions said it would).

Is the "bridge"  the same thing as the plug in that you download from mytrezor.com?

For now yes, the real bridge isn't released yet

As someone barely pushing 90ghs, im worried that if i drop out now my nearing 0.03 of DGM payments will drop to nothing by the time its solved leaving me with 33 days of wasted mining with mmpool.org. Any suggestions? I've tried playing around with pool management strategies in attempt to keep my DGM up to a degree but it still degrades pretty quickly, so I'm wondering if just going with another pool entirely at this point would be more profitable than waiting on this. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Also, i used to mine at ghash.io/cex.io for awhile but found they were taking the 26 cents per GHS maintenance fee from my hardware produced hashes. Just wondering if anyone else dealt with this issue and if they have fixed it, if not I'm going to bitminter or eligius as I tried a p2pool, elizium.name but was not pushing enough ghs to make anything at all.

I've got two rock miners pushing about 40 ghs each, 2 red fury's about to be pencil overclocked and 4 antminters overclocked to 2 ghs each. All other pool suggestions welcome as I've done a lot of research for what will be the most profitable except p2pool keeps coming back as the best and i am hesitant to buy anymore mining hardware this late in the game since I'll likely never see ROI. Also, if anyone knows of a reliable source for properly priced rockminer r-boxes or other sha256 hashing equipment that isn't going to kill me on wattage or via my wallet please let me know as GAWMiner seems to be focusing on scrypt these days.

much love,
detro

With difficulty about to explode again and Bitcoin being cheap I suggest you just buy .05 vs paying electricity
3429  Bitcoin / Armory / Re: Armory - Discussion Thread on: August 13, 2014, 07:55:56 AM
A couple quick questions.

I have an older version of offline armory on an offline computer. I think it's version 0.88.x. Can I update this to the newest version without uninstalling and deleting my wallet data? Or should I just leave my current version alone?

Second, if I encrypt my wallet, does the paper backup seed still restore the wallet even if I lose the encryption password?

You should answer the backup yourself by testing, if nothing more than for practice.

Glad the fud is over. Let the guys go back to bip32 and armory integration.

@bitpop you should change the OP tittle with "legendary member" now !

You should also include the fact that this was cloned from Carcoin/V8. eg. both will stake/pos without the need for a wallet passphrase.

EDIT - Lets add the massively instamined Computercoin to the list.

@bitpop

Did muddafudda copy n paste this for you ?

Was he returning the favor for your, not so insightful, comments ?

I think you're the scammer, read quick tho

I've read the entire thread and I agree with muddafudda on this one. You paid him 5 LTCs and want a refund? How many hours did muddafudda spend on this?

Honestly, at $125 (current price, I assume it was in that ballpark when the deal was made) I'm not sure what you were expecting. Coingen costs about $125 (which didn't exist of course at the time of this deal) and you were expecting a high quality, custom made coin for the same price?

You probably would have been better off paying a reasonable price to a good developer, rather than hoping to get lucky with a $125 developer.

Me too, op is scammer

Yes let armory also torrent the blockchain for you
Ok, but what about the thing I asked in regards to Norton & MBAM, should I bother with anything else let alone any of those two since it will be an online only system and not something using email or visiting potentially dangerous pages.

People will tell you to use Linux. On Windows I just use the free security essentials

Ok, so I've settled on a used laptop I can use for an online system.

This should be more than ok, right ?

1.6Ghz CPU, 3gb of RAM running vista, hard drive will be at least 180GB.

Yes ram isn't used much anymore

Cpu will take days to process both Bitcoin and armory though. Just leave it for a week.
I know, I did that when I ran just core of this laptop using an external HDD. Foret what the CPU is on this system though, but it's bogged down with a shit ton of stuff and the "new" laptop will be core / armor only with MBAM and Norton.

Anything else I should consider or would MBAM and Norton (when I get a new license) be enough ?

Edit: Last I asked, someone said I should install core, install armory let both build at the same time where I considered install core, build core, install armory, build armory.

Only if it's dual core. It's good be right?
Toshiba Satellite A135-S4467

Not sure on stock mem but it came used on eBay with 3Gb and no HD, battery or charger. I have everything I need minus the HDD caddy and HDD but all I can tell you is 1.6Ghz w/ 3Gb of memory.

Just so were on same page, I'm talking about the laptop I just got for my online only system. Not the one I'm using now since I mentioned both.

Edit: You asking about dual core because of the mbam, norton and what else I should consider query ?

Says dual core. By build do you mean compile? Or process blockchain. Either way you should be great doing it at the same time. Why not get another for offline signing?
