Nonsense

Their parents are allowing him to use the computers AND put no restrictions on HOW to use it. So, as long as he use it in a legal way, he can do what he want with it.

Just because I let my kid have a computer to play games doesn't mean he can run it at 100% 24/7 and make my electricity bill raise so he can make some money off something else.  If he asked, sure I'd probably let him and see how much it raises the bill and go from there, but to do it without saying anything is a douche thing to do.

Besides, your only criteria for whether or not it's right is whether or not someone told you specifically not to do it?  You must have had an interesting childhood.

I'm imagining a Fifth Element type deal where the AI uses the information at it's disposal and sees just how terrible humanity is, and who wouldn't fear us after seeing what we are capable of.  Meatbags must die.

I don't understand how the bitcoin goes in the piggy bank.  The slot just isn't big enough.   Huh

"Downloading and playing games" and leaving your computer on isn't the same thing as intentionally running your electric bill even higher, in order to mine bitcoins, which in the end are worth less than the electricity used to mine them.  Have a little respect for your parents, they gave up a lot to raise children, don't need to steal from them.

And vindication means he was right.

Oh look, another post by Atlas where he started a new thread to continue a conversation that was already going on in an existing thread.  Roll Eyes

I try really hard when I post something critical of you to not come off hyper-critical, lest I sound like Matthew. It's getting harder and harder, because it seems like your douchebaggery is growing exponentially. :/

Yeah, this version of Atlas has also now joined the ignore bin. I can't wait for what he thinks of next.

Same.  I'm glad to see most people don't respond to him anymore, he's kinda like that crazy bum on the corner yelling about the coming apocalypse that everyone just slinks by.

If they reject the block reward reduction, they will shoot themselves in a feet.

Greed makes people do irrational things, clouds their perspective.

Discussion about sites is fine, directing people there isn't.

Did somebody say bear?

I acknowledge your statement wholeheartedly, Matthew.

It has nothing to do with tact, but I suspect you don't really know what that word means or how it's supposed to be used.  As usual.
3431  Other / Off-topic / Re: New Game: Hunt the Atlas on: December 09, 2011, 07:32:55 PM

I think it's important that we continue to post about his new names so that everyone knows that changing your name will not help you.

You're the very essence of every authoritarian teacher I've experienced through high school. Let's just say by the end of the year, I still didn't turn in my homework, I continued to sleep through class and I still loved the teacher and continued to ask her about her day.

It's never been about "help". Actually, I don't think you want to grasp my reasons.

This explains a lot of your posts.  You really should have paid more attention in English class.

In before "I reject your definitions and make my own".   Roll Eyes
3432  Economy / Speculation / Re: Fuji Chart on: December 09, 2011, 07:28:01 PM
Most Japanese people I know would say "Fuji san" (富士山) instead of "Fuji no yama", which is a more literal translation of "mount Fuji".

Also check out the meaning of the individual characters (especially the 富!)

3433  Economy / Speculation / Re: Prediction contest: when will bitcoin break $4? or will it never break $4? on: December 08, 2011, 03:08:49 PM
Here's my optimistic prediction:

The price will briefly break $4 sometime in mid to late January.  Between January and May the price will dip back down into the 2s.  Between May and July the price will peak, possibly evening reaching new all-time highs.  By December 2012 the price will have settled in $6-8 range.

That sounds pretty realistic, if all goes well.
3434  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin savings plan on: December 08, 2011, 03:06:56 PM
It doesn't conflict, I expect the price to go down further from here.  Even if it *only* drops another dollar thats a significant percentage at this point.  I expect the price will rise again in 2012 and onwards, but a lot could happen between now and then.

It doesn't hurt to wait, I have bought and am holding some, but do not plan to buy more at the moment.
3435  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin savings plan on: December 08, 2011, 02:19:03 PM
I'm not.  Using bitcoin to store wealth at this point is silly.  You're silly.

Hmm.

Had you just said "Using bitcoin to store wealth is silly," I would understand your perspective.

At what point will it switch from being a bad idea to store wealth in bitcoin to being a good idea? What critical point do you think needs to be reached?

When the downtrend stops, or there is a clear reversal.  The downtrend has stalled for now, but the longer we go without the price going up, the more likely it is we'll see another crash or the downtrend resume  It is young still, and the short/mid term is uncertain.  Long term I'm still positive, but unwilling to tie up assets in bitcoin at the moment.

I'm not.  Using bitcoin to store wealth at this point is silly.  You're silly.
I don't get it ,why silly?

3437  Economy / Speculation / Re: Prediction contest: when will bitcoin break $4? or will it never break $4? on: December 07, 2011, 03:39:48 PM
Personally I think the latter half of 2012.  People saying December need to wake up, it's taken a long time to get to where we are, will take a long time to build back up.
3438  Economy / Speculation / Re: Last time $3 was "the manipulator"... what now? on: December 07, 2011, 03:36:04 PM
If you ask me, it's someone who wants out before it crashes again.  I just wonder if its someone who wants out, or if they are selling to rebuy later.
3439  Economy / Speculation / Re: Prediction contest: when will bitcoin break $4? or will it never break $4? on: December 07, 2011, 01:29:09 PM
Yeah nobody can really know, if we did we wouldn't be speculating.  Time will tell I suppose.  As for me, I'm 25% in, which is mostly my earnings from bitcoinica anyway, so no big loss there.
3440  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nagle's Favorite Chart on: December 07, 2011, 12:57:05 PM
Yes any major player who is going to adopt it is likely to make their own.  With "minor" changes of course.
