3421  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Why all the interest in 5830s recently? on: April 19, 2012, 02:48:59 AM
you can find some in the hardware section https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=75.0 or ebay. don't buy used though, because there's a chance that the cards are in bad shape, which is what  happened to this user: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=77099
3422  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Does anyone have 1st hand experience in crossfiring a 58xx card with a 69xx? on: April 19, 2012, 12:14:43 AM
just don't as it hinders performance.
3423  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Why all the interest in 5830s recently? on: April 18, 2012, 11:52:12 PM
the 5800 series is known for its awesome MH/$ ratios. 5850 is probably the best, but it's been tapped out, so it's just 5870 and 5830. Although 5870 has better MH/W, its MH/$ makes it unfavorable to most users. so that's why 5830 is so popular - best MH/$ ratio, most plentiful (of the 5800 series), and low starting price ($100 vs 6990s that cost $500).

3425  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [WTB] 2 BTC with Paypal on: April 18, 2012, 10:43:55 PM
Bitcoins are irreversible and Paypal is not. It is far too risky. As a result, barely anyone will touch Paypal. You might get some if you withdraw it to a bank and then withdraw from the bank into cash. Cash is sometimes mailed for BTC.
He's been around since May of 2011. I'd say his internet pseudonym is worth quite a bit more than $10.
but he's been gone since august, and just recently appeared 5 days ago. with the forum db leak, it makes me suspicious.
3426  Economy / Goods / Re: WTB Minecraft on: April 18, 2012, 10:38:36 PM
5 btc and I'll buy it

(1btc = 5.5$ * 5 = 27.5$)

5BTC it's ok?
5*5 = $25, but it costs $26.95. Undecided
3427  Economy / Goods / Re: WTB Minecraft on: April 18, 2012, 10:37:17 PM
just a word of warning for accounts: it's possible that the account you buy is phished/hacked, so don't be surprised if your login doesn't work after a few weeks.
3428  Other / Off-topic / Re: Anyone have problems accessing bitmit.net? on: April 18, 2012, 10:32:34 PM
It's always pretty slow for me but has never been down.

I don't know what as6453.net is but they apparently suck.

Code:
 9  ix-19-0.tcore2.DT8-Dallas.as6453.net (206.82.142.45)  35.198 ms  35.572 ms  35.811 ms
10  if-3-2.tcore1.LVW-LosAngeles.as6453.net (66.110.57.62)  275.158 ms  274.736 ms  275.374 ms

as6453 is tata communications.
yeah, i doubt they would be having issues for such a long time.
3429  Other / Off-topic / Anyone have problems accessing bitmit.net? on: April 18, 2012, 08:33:34 PM
it's been intermittently up/down for me since it was first opened.

3433  Economy / Speculation / Re: MintChip Vs bitcoin, the currency wars are starting... who will win? on: April 18, 2012, 08:15:46 PM
By the way. The title of this thread describes a "war" between the electronic currencies. Bitcoin should welcome the challenge of any new currencies. In the meritocracy of an open and free market, bitcoin compares very favorably. I can't see how a proprietary system could compete with it. Many of the strongest elements of BTC, such as being open-source, private and almost free, cannot be implemented in a fee for service environment.
mintchip has the backing of the goverment, so they'll try to spread as much FUD to say bitcoin is worthless/insecure.
3434  Economy / Goods / Re: WTB Minecraft on: April 18, 2012, 08:08:42 PM

3435  Economy / Services / Re: [WTB] Need some coding work done :) on: April 18, 2012, 03:56:10 PM

Any quotes?

3437  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: [WTB] GPUMax account on: April 17, 2012, 03:46:27 PM
how much are you offering?

if you trust me, a much better solution would be to mine for me, and i forward the earnings to you. GPUMAX keeps track of each miner's earnings, so it shouldn't be too difficult.
3438  Economy / Goods / Re: Skyrim / Call of Duty MW3 on: April 17, 2012, 03:46:03 PM
it doesn't matter whether you played multiplayer or not. as long as you entered the serial into steam, it's worthless. you can't transfer a game either, as it's against steam policy.
3439  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How long it takes to Bitcoin to Transfer on: April 17, 2012, 01:23:25 AM
you should really upgrade to a higher version. either 0.6.0, or 0.4.3 if you don't like qt. anyways, it's almost instant to see the transaction, and around 10 minutes to get 1 confirmation. 1 hour is needed to get 6 confirmations (so it isn't "unconfirmed" in the client)
3440  Economy / Goods / Re: Brand New Computers @ Half The Cost on: April 17, 2012, 01:03:38 AM
OP, are you at least willing to verify that the site you mentioned is really yours?

This is what i pulled from whois.

because expandable memory is an important selling point.   Roll Eyes
Because it is. Today's Newegg Shellshocker is a pair of 8GB SODIMMs, which I wouldn't be able to use in just any old laptop. Just sayin'.
but 16 GB of ram? I never run out of ram with 4 GB (paging file disabled).
