3421  Economy / Economics / Re: Understanding a bear market. on: May 25, 2021, 05:51:13 AM
You don't have to make a single choice as when to buy, the best strategy is to spend small amounts and spread the trades, for instance if you buy every week for 100$ while the market is crashing you can make sure that you are not putting all your money on one go...
Yes that is what people advice, but in reality how many traders actually perform this exercise should be put to check. Buying at set points as the market crashes give you more chances to sell when it goes back up and you close that position, borrowing that term from Margin trading. Cheesy

China's statement seems to be in order with Ellon's statement, so that seems to add to the downside of the current market bearish list. many people experience fear which adds to this downturn. This kind of thing happened in 2018, and I think it will improve too. therefore, as investors in particular we have to be patient
Let not jump to theories but move with the market. Currently it has dropped from a bubble which is why the crash happened at more than 10% from ATH. Basic need now is to build up support levels over these ranges that were touched - 35k to 40k first. This never happened in the last four months - which is the reason for the situation today.

Dont be jealous at how much they may have made, rather identify your own mistakes and correct them. This is lacking in every human, we tend to brush aside the mistakes like not selling at the new highs, even in smaller amounts.
3422  Economy / Speculation / Re: Angry on: May 25, 2021, 05:45:32 AM
3 years? that's a joke. Maybe you should really have should at the top but you've probably thought that there's going to be more top with what bitcoin has reached.
Even self-proclaimed analysts give a wide "Disclaimer" before giving their analysis. Three years is a long time, a lot can happen in between. But it is true that those who became euphoric after the last few years of bear trend made a mistake not to sell at the top.

Quote
Don't get mad when the market corrects, you're likely to sell at losses when you can't control your emotion.
I hope the OP learnt some lessons from this mistake and takes the time to read these messages to get a better insight on when to buy and when to sell. Holding too stubbornly also has a negative impact on the mind. You need to sell some at the top and use that money to buy back at lower price. Not being a part of this cycle makes you feel bad about your investments. I dont believe the OP is one of those who can sail through such emotions easily.

No parabolic phase....
Can only mean one thing...
It’s a correction....

Haiku?
Getting some Ghosts of Tsushima vibes there. Lets see how this turns out. Keep both fiat and BTC ready to use and you should be able to make profits of the market changes.
3423  Economy / Economics / Re: How many bitcoins did Tesla earn from selling cars? on: May 24, 2021, 05:51:19 AM
Just a few days ago I said he is a hypocrite, your words reminded me of that, in my opinion, he is doing organized pump and dumps, and on another side, he is acting like a nice guy! Can't be both! I just said it with different words!
A celeb always covers up what they are doing in the background. Point is that they have a cult following which is always a bad thing in a democracy. They can use their influence to play with people and their money and this is what I do not like. Social media influencers and spiritual "gurus" are also doing a similar brainwashing to make people do what they want to do.

You can never calculate the amount of bitcoins someone bought because it is pseudo-anonymous. I doubt they were in it for developing the tech or boosting the price organically.

What I said previously in some of my posts, when other celebs promoted coins still holds true : Celebs have ulterior motives usually profit. Some of them have ended up in jail.
3424  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM! KOMMUNISTAS $KOM -Fake team and plagiarism of white paper. on: May 24, 2021, 05:44:25 AM
I hope luficer learnt their lesson. You may to new to this community and it would be a good thing to understand how scams operate in this sector. Appreciate the fact that they are into designing which is an important part in marketing and making an impression and hence they should be more careful in this regard.

Both bounty managers and designers are paid by the project. I would like to know if lucifer was paid for the same and if so in tokens or in bitcoin if they wish to tell us. Because this might help in gathering more evidence towards the actual scammers running this scam.

For now I am not supporting this flag.
3425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to find potential projects without programming knowledge. on: May 24, 2021, 05:39:20 AM
As for a checklist, you would defenitely want to check these things because they are basic call outs for the scam projects out there. Also assume every project to be a scam unless proven otherwise - that is the condition of this sector.

1. Vision/concept behind the project. Is there any other project doing a similar thing? if so do which one has an edge?
2. Is the project competing against a well established mainstream project? If yes, then dont invest in it. They will never be able to succeed even if they manage to raise money.
3. Check the team and if they have any previous projects done or not? Usually they will have none.
4. Link with the advisors. See if they are real and if they are not copied from another project. Because often scam projects will use names of other people and try to make their project look legitimate, when in reality that advisor did not even know that their name was being used there.
5. Team images should be thoroughly checked to avoid scams which use stock images to set up a page and then start raising money.

As for an investor, OP is looking too much into things that we use in the traditional fiat market. Let me clear your bubble and remind you that the crypto sector is full of scammers. Finding a project worth funding here, is like looking for a needle in a haystack. In fiat markets the projects are not scams, they may fail to proceed but they would not scam its investors, or get caught if done. Here it is like a wild west, people run away with investors money and nobody can do anything about it.
3426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why FOMO when a coin is pumping on: May 23, 2021, 06:14:21 AM
because they panic and don't want to fall behind like other people, so put aside logic and buy the coin, after buying they feel comfortable then sell if the price goes down even though they know beforehand if the coin is at the top.
Likewise, when dumping occurs they will compete to sell where people should buy.
Lack of insight I would say brings about this bad outcome.

If you are buying something at least do some groundwork on what you are buying, why you are buying it specifically and does it have an impact on future?

These questions may seem simple but they carry an immense weight. Because newbies dont take these questions and use a comment "someone told me about it" - they make the mistake of FOMO. What happens is that as long as it is going up they dont bother, but when it starts coming down then they are panicking into information as to whether or not they have been scammed/sold a shitcoin. Something that should have been done before buying.

Therefore FOMO will happen and you as an experienced trader must take advantage of these weak hands.
3427  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why doesn't bitcoin go up higher percentages like altcoins? on: May 23, 2021, 06:10:06 AM
You probably don't need a trillion dollars as the price we see does not reflect the money that actually was used to buy up those Bitcoins, but you certainly need a considerable amount to move the price or market cap by 50% or even a 100%.
Simple explanation to a noob question. In fact the people who put so much trust in altcoins should understand the moving the market for altcoins is way easier even for a mid-cap bagholder who is looking to dump their shitcoins on a bamboozled newbie because the newbie heard some news about that shitcoin. The point is in trading you need to do this research on your own and learn how the prices can be manipulated.

Invest in bitcoin because now the price has dropped. Dump shitcoins when they get high and dont look back at them. Altcoins are too easy to pump inorganically. Lets hope the OP has understood the point and will not make any such topics in future.
3428  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Defi Lending/Borrowing Fungibility? on: May 22, 2021, 05:48:54 AM
Eg if someone has dirty coins and they get them into these platforms, am I at risk for getting some of them when I withdraw the coins I put in to try to get interest?
No, they are from a pool, much like a mixer service. However I should warn you that if your purpose is in money laundering then you will be caught one day. People have tried using many methods to move tainted source coins/stolen coins through exchanges, mixers, casinos, multiple wallets. But they have been caught. Now I can see that these "Lending pools" will end up with some cases like these.

Very soon they would also be forced to start AML/KYC to prevent such criminals from abusing their system.

Quote
Same thing if I use one of them to take a loan, and then try to deposit it in a centralized exchange, is there a risk it could be blocked?
No. Because it was not your fault. Another point to add to my previous statement - the lending pool needs to protect itself from law enforcement. They would start confiscating coins from such users if they find the increase in such abuse in future.
3429  Economy / Economics / Re: Understanding a bear market. on: May 22, 2021, 05:42:22 AM
Bear market is a test and a type of natural selection for weeding out weak hands. They are the ones who were looking for an easy profit and did not have any motive beyond making money. They are also the ones who create panic in times of drop and FUD in times of rise.

Although institutional investors follow a similar principle, they are going to sell quickly when the trend goes down and lead to the bigger magnitude of the crash.

The Point number 3 given by the OP is a wrong decision and should never be done unless there is a personal emergency. Converting to stable coins means that when the bear market ends and the bull market starts, you will defenitely miss out on the chance of making the profit.

However it is too early to start calling it a bear market, but lets see how well the weak hands hold.
3430  Economy / Speculation / Re: Traders, y'all buying, selling or on the fence? on: May 21, 2021, 06:09:25 AM
Let the dust settle.

The price dropped to 39k and then rose back to 40k USD yesterday and today it is back to 39k USD. This means that there is both buying and selling pressures and this 40k level may end up as a future resistance level. With the two concurrent negative news, we will see a gradual dump in price and some uptrends in between. Hence my current move is to wait it out.

We dont know how the weak hands might respond and they may end up crashing it even further forgetting the fact that institutional money was the first reason why bitcoin crossed 10k USD a few months back this year.

Now that the inorganic pump has been neutralized or close to being removed, the real price levels are coming back and there might be buying opportunities in future at 30k or even lower levels. That would be the time to buy.

If you have not sold already, hold it for now too. Either way my first line should answer the situation aptly.
3431  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: index Monitor ? on: May 21, 2021, 06:01:33 AM
There are some indices on Coinmarketcap but the biggest point of difference here is that the effect of coins on the index is less studied. We use those indices more in stock markets. Here the information if you ask me is only anecdotal, someone might have a different opinion on this.

So whether you can monitor the market by using these indices like you can in the stock market? I am doubtful. I would rather use the price of bitcoin as an index to know how the altcoins are going to perform because they usually follow a trend.

Dont use indices changes to plan strategies here. You are better off with buying bitcoin. In the near future with more exchanges starting and more government liberality, we might see betting on indices and then the picture might vary.
3432  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: doge.live | a scam doge cloud mining site. on: May 21, 2021, 05:55:50 AM
There is no description of the location of such servers that they talk about and neither any team description of the people running the project.

They say their location is here :
Code:
 Dogecoin, Scrypt-Base, Blockchain
This must be a bad joke. Roll Eyes
Their social media links are non existent, the icons are only placeholders.

Their mining profitability calculator is also not functioning. They forgot to code this in place. Huh
Quote
The return is 2% per day which is very high, considering 1 month means 60% per month.
Definitely another sign of a scam.

3433  Economy / Speculation / Re: Angry on: May 20, 2021, 05:44:18 AM
I am angry rn I knew I should execute all my crypto yesterday when China anounced ban.
Happens with the best of the traders. Important thing is that you learn your lesson from this. Governments tend to oppress crypto when it goes up and this brings the price down again, a type of feedback loop that makes the traders suffer for their euphoria on seeing high prices, I concur that this is a important lesson for everyone to know when to sell.

Of course it is never possible for anyone to predict when a country might take a negative approach to crypto but when prices are high make it a point to at least sell a fraction of your holding to cash out and wait for the drop to happen.

Quote
Now all my crypto 30% down.  and it will take 3 years to recover.
Now that is BS. Crypto can go up and down within hours. You cannot declare an absolute number like that in this market. True that price may drop even more but rise will happen with time. Three years is a long way, many more things might happen in a year.

Site was created yesterday and they are already spreading the scam like wildfire. Of course nothing beats the scent of free money and it is a good thing that the OP posted about it here.

If any newbie who is dying to make some money reads this, know that money is not created in thin air. If you send money to someone it is gone forever.
3435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What percentage of investment BTC vs ETH on: May 20, 2021, 05:31:12 AM
I love to buy btc in tranches, especially in a time like this when there is blood on the street. My portfolio in bull market is totally different to my portfolio in bear market.  It's  seem we are entering into bear market and if this is true,  I will re-balance my asset appropriately!
Since the OP wanted a insight into what they need to diversify in, this should be a good time. Basis should be the long term value and that means keeping BTC on the maximum, maybe ETH as the only few altcoins that one needs but defenitely not more than 10%.

The current market drop is significant more than 10% of original value and this should break the bubble of some altcoin lovers who thought that Musk induced price pump was permanent. The celebs dont care about retail investors losses they only want their money. That and the Chinese sentiment against crypto should bring about some nice buying opportunities for long term investors.
3436  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Need help - exchanges on: May 19, 2021, 05:27:48 AM
Please help me. I am searching some coins from mid 2014

Do you know what exchanges was there ?

Don’t know what is happend with these coins
If you post the names of these coins maybe someone can help you out more. Besides the links posted by the above members should be a good first choice to start your search. If the coins are not found on the data aggregator sites then chances are that the project died out and there was not market to cater too or got delisted.

As far as I remember, majority of coins in 2013 - 2014 were mineable coins that were starting to gain popularity as bitcoin mining was becoming more negative ROI predominant. Most of those coins still exist but the market is not that good to even start mining them.
3437  Economy / Economics / Re: The Reason Bitcoin Investment will be preferred more than Oil on: May 19, 2021, 05:18:36 AM
Futuristic or not, Oil is going to have a demand for years to come along with other fossil fuels. Water too for that instance because these are things that run a country, bitcoin on the other hand does not.

Be practical when you are investing, not emotional is that experts have to say. You have understand the demand and supply of the asset that you are investing in. From that perspective, both bitcoin and fossil fuels are going to rise in future. Now it is your call whether you would rather secure assets in a class that is recognized already by the markets already and not a grey area in the market to something that is a grey area and whose possible government acceptance is low.

I would advice both for future, going all in on one is always a stubborn decision. This is not same as bitcoin vs altcoin, in which case I always go for 100% bitcoin. Against assets that are already known and costly bitcoin diversification should be smaller than 100%.

As for the argument of electric cars, please note that electricity comes from fossil fuels unless we move on to nuclear power which will take years to come to every country. So no, fossil fuels will not run out of price even if Tesla goes big and tries to set up a dominance. This is the electric coin bubble which again will die out with time.
3438  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: RickyBet is a scam on: May 19, 2021, 05:01:04 AM
No offense but if you are looking for methods to buy fixed tickets you are the one trying to be dishonest here as well. But the thing is that the scammers are better at scamming than you are at being dishonest. They prey for people looking for fixed matches and fixed tickets and attempt to sell them such but actually scam them.

You attempt to do so yourself, you got punished for being dishonest too. I hope you have learnt your lesson here. Be honest with the games and be clean on your side. Do not try to find out easy ways out because these are traps set by people who prey on the lazy players like you.
3439  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: any opinions about the recent btc price crash? on: May 18, 2021, 06:49:55 AM
When traders are not able to survive against usual market fluctuations then I believe they are not at all suitable for crypto trading. Instead of struggling, I believe they must quit.
If they are struggling, they are not doing it right. A person who sells at the wrong time or buys at the top is going to struggle with losses. That is not how trading is done but most newbies will make this mistake.

The price of BTC dropped heavily yesterday to 42k USD and today has recovered back to 45k USD. This should be a sign that people bought at the low and therefore support is being developed. But if follow a celeb who is pumping and dumping the market you will get washed out. Never should a trade follow the opinion of others to trade but develop their own methods and analysis because after all, the analysts get paid to say the obvious on news sites but a trader has to depend on the analysis for their profit.
3440  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: global-options.org Ponzi Scheme. on: May 18, 2021, 06:44:53 AM
I was take aback by the Plan E profit from Plan D profit, why did the profit percentage drop between these two? It is supposed to go up right? Maybe a typo from the scammers because they were too busy to quickly get the site up and running and not paying attention to what they had written.

Their office overview is a stock image, that can only be perceived as a poor joke.

Did a reverse image search on the "Testimonial" with name "Edward Hunter" < Came out as "Denna Lewis" on three different sites:

Code:
https://www.forextradedesk.com/
https://ex-cryptobinaryoption.com/
https://www.netfxstockmarket.com/index.php
and several more sites which are running a similar scheme. I believe all of these are owned by the similar scammer group and being run to scam innocent newbies.
