3441  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: BitFury has the No. 1 Crown for Now... on: December 16, 2015, 02:45:19 PM

Maybe.  They have 6 months to make some money off of it before the halving.  Halving is coming.

That will be the most efficient miner out there. They will be making money when others are not.

They stated  their chip is so good that no one can compete against it so they will sell chips to keep the playing field level.

I see trouble ahead.

We might see what other companies have in their R/D.  I think some of the big one's chances are always are working on next gen.  Maybe another one comes out if were lucky.

But Bitfury will use this to be the first to ROI on ton's of machines.  They are in a very good position to be in.
3442  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Review] Avalon 6 Miner - Winter Mining - Notlist3d - Also FAQ and Help on: December 16, 2015, 02:36:04 PM
I see from the picture in the new dogie guide that the controller has connectors for 4 Hash Boards.

It could be that you can plug up two miners to one controller?

Rich

It is quite interesting.  From his pictures we can see it using 2 of the 4.  I don't think anyone has tried out doing it but looks like a possibility.

I doubt we will know unless someone tries it.   Most likely will be a Ehash customer that tries it if someone does.  It does not have stickers showing if opened.  BlockC has stickers over screws.
3443  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Review] Avalon 6 Miner - Winter Mining - Notlist3d - Also FAQ and Help on: December 16, 2015, 02:32:13 PM
I don't have one of these...don't plan on getting one (13c kwh electric) but was wondering..what is the 'electric price point' in folk's opinon you would need 'minimum' to make more then ROI (hopefully) on one of these units...with the added assumption that you could get (1) unit say with shipping included at $1650 usd or so (which I think would be a very good price for 1 unit)

Just wondering how far in the dark winter cold I am away from this ...electric price wise Sad

Myself I'm thinking at least less then 5c kwh usd.....and I would not be sweating this too much on the above....what ya all think higher/lower etc?

This is really a whole different topic.  ROI is hard to predict long term.  With difficulty changing and btc value changing.... we really can't say at X price you will ROI.  If anyone does.... chances are they are lying.

What we can say is cheaper the electricity the better chance you stand at ROI.  With 13 cents your best bet is if you used it to heat a room for winter and not using heat as much.

It is something you kinda have to love to  do.  I have always enjoyed mining and tinkering with the machines.  That is why I do it.  And I do watch to get ROI.  But it is hard to predict so far away.

Here you could buy this product from Bitmain: https://bitmaintech.com/productDetail.htm?pid=000201511170341298180m44675v0613
It has 4.73 TH/s  so it's around what your looking for but the PSU should be provided by you, it won't come by the actual Bitmain company so you should save some for that as well. It's one of the best products out there.

I was looking at that before thanks! So one question. What kind of user interface do that have?

Simple to use they have the standard bitmain GUI.  So easy to use not hard command line or anything.  So new/old miner can jump in and use it.

But it is pretty hard to beat them on price right now.   One mentioned PSU if you have 220/240 grab the server PSU off site aswell it's a good psu, and has enough PCIe for the S7.
3445  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Avalon 6 Vs Antminer S7, which one you will choose? on: December 16, 2015, 02:21:15 PM
Innosilicon has ANNOUNCED full custom 14nm for their A4 Scrypt chip.
They haven't said one way or the other on the A3 - but I don't see ANY reason for it to be anything BUT full-custom as SHA256 is a simpler algorythm easier to design for.

Note that they have indicated that they intend to bring the A3 and the A4 to market at the same time.

Also note that their "search for investors" for the A4 seems to be more about risk management than anything - they're NOT cash-short after all the A1/A2 sales they've made, and they brought both of THOSE chips to market with no "pre-orders" or outside investors.

Given the next diff increase is looking likely to just miss 20%, and that price has NOT been keeping pace since the initial surge (we're still not back up to that first peak despite the recent second surge, though might get there a lot sooner than I think)....

Up side - price keeps going up even close to diff increases, I might actually achieve RoI on my S5s and SP20 after all. 8-)

I have not been able to keep up with Innosilicone.  Have they shown a prototype or done a tapeout or anything?  Or are chips still being in R/D not working up to spec.

I think they announced way to early about it.  It just seems like a long time since they did, and they have produced  0 of them.
3446  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Best Gh to Watt Miner? on: December 16, 2015, 02:17:43 PM
It's a shame Bitmain hasn't had a good home option (ie low noise) for mining that has decent efficiency since the S3.

You need a spot for miners at this point almost.  You can run a Avalon 6 easier in side a room.  But S7 would be hard without actually doing some sound mods. Phil has shown a good one in past.

But I would not expect the miners to be any smaller.  You either need to be able to get use to it, or have an area.  I think it's moving from home miner to hobby miner.  That is the trend I see.

Given the crap that Yifu has surrounding him I don't want anything to do with anything named Avalon ever again - even if it costs me a chance at profit.

I have space, but I can't tolerate loud miners where I plan on placing them so I'm out of viable options currently.

And that is a valid thing. I can see why some that lost have hard feelings.  I was lucky never loss have had nothing but good from them.  Ehash and BlockC both sides I have dealt with.

There is way's to quiet miners out there.  Look at Phils rig he showed once he made the S7 quite with something he built behind it.
3447  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Newbie here - which low budget miner to get? on: December 16, 2015, 02:14:47 PM
IF you can get your hands on some S3 ++ id buy them Smiley_ . notice i said S3 ++ not S3 +, i could have bought some over the summer but passed it up or saw it to late to buy at least two S3 ++, after, i noticed it said ++. now i can't get any in the US.

I think a few made it stateside.  But it was a very very few on S3 ++ your right on most not making it here to US was not offered on site to US.  With current electricity OP seems to have I would not count on S3 (or plus models) or dragon a1.  I think he will have to go newer if he want's it to pay for operation like he said.

Only thing on S3 dont get batch 1.  It was hit/miss we got refunds as some were a tad slower.  If you go buying and get a S3+ you know it's not a batch one with slower speed (or you can have owner show speed before buying on S3 regular to make sure it is up to speed)

3448  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Newbie wanting to get into mining. Needs help! on: December 16, 2015, 02:09:54 PM
Fees at eobot are currently 45% for 2.0 GHS and 24% for 3.0 GHS.
At genesis-mining they are at 0.00099$/GHS/Day
But you're right, the fees at eobot are pretty high...

wow you are right. The last time i cloud mined there was 2-3 month ago. The fees were like i described.
They must have changed it since they got ghs3.0 or its because of the rising btc price

Do not buy from there stick with a more credible cloud mining site.  Just look at the calculator they make you think you will ROI quick with monthly earnings..... they don't have difficulty factored in for a reason.

Look at one that is with a hardware company (hashnest), or one that has purchased hash confirmed by company (Bit-x).  Just using those examples if you buy Bit-x I make 0 more just was using as a example of a verified by hardware maker.   Do not let me or anyone else push you into a company research it before investing.

id say we might be in trouble  Undecided

"Leading Bitcoin Blockchain Transaction Processing Company Will Bring Chip To Market In First Quarter of 2016 Through Integration And Reseller Partners"

best regards
d57heinz

Well they say they will sell chips.

If they sell chips better gear will be available.

We are going to have a very interesting six months.

Also notice they said they launched a 40 mega watt farm.

This is those crazy high jumps to 190 -  210 blocks

It really is crazy looking at the blocks.  I sent a payment today... conformations so fast it was ridiculous.

I don't know if I would believe everything they say they will sell.  Sometimes they change their mind.  Remember they said they would sell that lightbulb?  I would still buy one for fun of it but they never sold them.   So I will need to see them selling to others to believe, and I'm guessing if you buy from them and they do it your getting a considerable amount of the batch.
3450  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: SURVEY: How much bitcoins you have? on: December 16, 2015, 06:29:01 AM
100k satoshi but I hope anyone gives me now a bit of bitcoin  Cheesy
in my wallet 1BVxNN9QwBy1R2h4ww92xuCeWySXaBfE3s
thank you very much  who you are god bless you

You can always work for some, :p. You'll get a lot more than just asking.

Indeed, dont worry newbies, I am in the process of creating something that will passively help you guys earn bitcoin faster.

But i need accurate info to estimate how much bitcoins newbies have ,so please continue to fill the survey Smiley

I'm curious about what this is... or at least what realm. How does knowing how much BTC people have help you determine that? Either it's profitable or it isn't.

I'm curious also it seems like if your working on something to get new people coins... the goal would be as big as fast as you can.  No matter how many coins they have... they want as much as you can do.  Seems logical.

How many coin's they have really I don't see how it's a factor in this.   Unless it's a investment or something hoping to get coins.  Unless you need coins from others I still don't see useful way of using info. How does this help your project?
3451  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [Hands On] KeepKey Hardware Wallet - Notlist3d on: December 16, 2015, 05:02:19 AM
Nice review! Thanks for doing this! I still do prefer my Trezor though!

Nevertheless more options we have it's better and competition from all of the sides is what will push us into the progress that will propel the Bitcoin technology upwards!

Thank you! And honestly I appreciate all feedback about all hardware wallets.  Telling me your wallet/favorite features of your hardware wallet you have really is great info!

So thanks again to all who have shared.

As a heads-up, I have one of these coming in this week! I'm looking forward to giving it a try, Smiley. Compared to the others it's beyond beautiful -- hoping it looks just as beautiful in real life.

I have reallly enjoyed using a hardware wallet.  I plan on trying more.   I think you will really like it.

The security they provide is just pretty amazing.  I really was very big paper supporter but I'm starting to turn to hardware the more and more I use one.
3452  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best bitcoin wallet? on: December 16, 2015, 05:00:54 AM
I have been playing with hardware wallet, and plan on doing more.  I highly suggest looking into it for others.

It is amazing it keeping private key on device and being able to use it securly.  They have it where even if a virus/keylogger the good wallets out there your coins are safe.

So that is a huge bonus knowing even if somehow infected on PC it will be secure still.  I'm all for not losing coins.
3453  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How earn Bitcoins fast and free?? on: December 16, 2015, 04:56:46 AM
If you want both, you must go hard work for it just like real life.

There's no shortcut to success

since OP didn't specify how much BTC he wants, I'd say faucet. you can bitcoins in one click.

seriously though, most of the time free and fast are not worth it.

Faucet is good for newbie. So at least, people know how to trade with bitcoin

Faucets are good for no one.  Spending hours to get cents?   It is not good no matter what rank you are.

There are so much better things they could use time for.  So many say they are good for newbie... but it will be dust in wallet.

why dust?
with faucetbox you can limit the dust or even cancel it.
what is dust for you? 0.5BTC ? or till more?

You are trolling me as I have disagreed with you on your investment considering U2 cloud mining.  You know what dust is.

But yes you can use faucetbox... but it's not going to speed up time to get that money.   And serously 1/2 bitcoin from faucet?  Have you ever seen that now day's come on stop trolling me.

Dust is small payments worth less then a cent.  Were talking about a bunch of tiny deposits that don't add up to much and are dust.
3454  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Setting up new diff thread Dec 6 to Dec 20 picks closed. on: December 16, 2015, 04:44:01 AM
Price at 449 currently.... it took a little dive Sad.  Not fun to watch it go down.  hopefully stays up as this difficulty needs it.

I'm wondering what caused the downward trend any info out there on why?
3455  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: want to start mining on: December 16, 2015, 04:41:48 AM
Mining will kill your pc and your mobile if you start mining, but i would suggest to use it for anything else like offline wallet if you really don't know what to do with these two devices.

I don't think he said if it was a dekstop or laptop.  Desktops are harder to kill.  Granted if using a GPU it can be pushed and killed... been there.

But it is not worth doing as you lose money at this point.  And I'm still not sure what he means by web mining... I wish internet could bring a income but i have gigabit and made 0 off web.
3456  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to collect BTC ?? on: December 16, 2015, 01:51:10 AM
I would like to collect some bitcoin from faucets. I know it is a little. But it is a good starting point.

If you choose to do faucets, make sure you use a rotator as well. It'll help boost earnings.
Yes I am new to this result rotator week could reach the 40000 satoshi if done regularly
It could be a recommendation and I also just try

Still your talking about pennies per hour.  It is just horrible pay.  You can make so much more by spending time learning a skill that is sellable.

Later you will use those skills such as coding, artwork, etc.  Anything sellable is better then faucets long term.

I will say that if you only do high-paying sites, you can make a lot more (on a per-minute basis). I'd say $0.40 in 5-10 minutes of actual work would be possible, though that's spread out over days/weeks.

Please show proof of .40 centss in 5-10 minutes.  Most even "high paying" faucets don't pay this much.

It is very small payment.  Just is the way it is.
3457  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antpool? on: December 16, 2015, 01:43:34 AM
Hello,

i got some btc from a friend and i wanted to buy a bit hashing power on nicehash.
I want to mine in the antpool but i cant really find out how it works.
I have the Ips (there are 3 of them) and they put in in the example "antminer.1" but how do they pay me?
I have edited my account on the antpool with my btc adress but i cant add a worker only a "group".

Is it only possible to mine there with an antminer?

My antminer s3 is defect :/

Why would you want to rent hashrate at Nicehash at a premium, to then mine it on Antpool by paying a second premium, to mine some BTC back at a loss?

Like you could put in 1BTC and you might get 0.85BTC back. Whats the point?

Actually look at nicehash they have ran under price of BTC for quite a while.  They are no where as good as once was on profit. It currently paying -5 percent of BTC mining... so why anyone mines there I don't know.

But that with fee's there and pool fees in most cases you still lose money.   Most that do it and gain are the ones who solo mine and are lucky.  And some lose big with being unlucky.
3458  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mining at VPS on: December 16, 2015, 01:40:02 AM
You will never ROI with VPS mining. I was mining alt coin with free Windows Azure 1 month in 2 years ago just got around 0.003 BTC.

That is only way you make anything is if it's free.  But if you get charged once and don't cancel it... which they hope happens you will pay far more then what you made CPU mining.

It is possible to do  it... just not greatest idea as no profit in it.
3459  Other / Meta / Re: Legendary one day? on: December 16, 2015, 01:37:37 AM
Is it possible for the randomness to be more heavily weighted towards the larger activity requirement?   (Then it wouldn't really be "random" though...)
Eh what?
I believe he's asking if the site is more likely to wait for a higher activity number before rewarding Legendary. The answer is no; it's 100% random between the two set points. Due to people's luck and the nature of the activity system it can look like it does lean more heavily to the higher side, though it doesn't.

Yes, that's exactly what I was saying Smiley

I can verify I am very active and it took me quite a while to get legendary.  I got it eventually, but it's 100 percent random.

You really in no way can predict it.  You can watch it which is fun in this thread, but you cant have a good way to predict.
3460  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Should I Start Mining Bitcoins on: December 16, 2015, 01:34:02 AM
WOW! 200$/ths? free electricity? damn why stop at 3000$!!!! theres really no downside here!

Downside is it could be a bunch of A1 miners.  Which are not really that efficient of miners.

OP ask what miner it is your getting.  But I'm betting a bunch of A1's.  Which if free ore cheap electricity is fine.  Just not good longterm for normal electricity.
