That Suns and Clippers game was closer than it should have been considering both Paul George and Kawhi Leonard were out with injuries. Booker has his best night since the Durant trade putting up 45. I also saw that the Warriors managed to get a win over the Kings. That is going to be a battle of a series.

I have some funds earning ETH on Coinbase at 3.72%. That means if you have 1 ETH sitting on Coinbase for a year, you’ll earn something like $6 worth of ETH per month. Not exactly retirement money but there’s also hope that the value of the ETH will increase giving you a gain and raising the amount of monthly interest you receive from staking.
So far I have earned around 4.2 ETH via staking on Coinbase. I started staking in 2021. I plan on starting multiple solo staking with ETH. I am not interested in trading crypto because of the tax nightmare. I'd rather accumulate more ETH slowly via staking and pay taxes on the interest payouts. I personally am bullish about Ethereum and think it will go well above $10,000 eventually. It might even go to $180,000 - per Cathie Wood. Of course, Bitcoin would be at around $1 million or more. The way I see it the Ethereum supply is 6x the Bitcoin supply so it makes sense for Ethereum to eventually settle at 1/6 of the BTC price.  A fair value ETH price with BTC at $29,000 is around $4,800. Ethereum is currently undervalued compared to Bitcoin. And we can thank Gary Gensler of course for that.

https://ultrasound.money/

Judging by that admission and looking at my interest rate proclamation I would assume that you have around 50 ETH staked then. Certainly a great deal of money and more than most here. That likely earns you around $300 a month in more ETH at current prices, which isn’t bad for doing nothing. I for one am glad to see earning expectations is crypto coming back down to reality.

We gotta remember Lakers is the 7th seed, and Memphis is the 2nd seed in the west right now. I can understand why many people want to see Lakers winning and even odds showing that but remember odds are done based on your bets, so if you bet on Lakers to win all the time, and most people do, then the odds would be better for them to win, doesn't mean they are the favorites.

I still think that Lakers may end up losing this series, after all the seed should mean something and yes upsets happen but they are not the common one. How many 7 seeds have won against 2nd seed and how many 2nd seeds won those series? I bet most of the time 2nd seed ends up winning the series, and there is no reason why it should be any different now.

The Lakers rebuilt their team at the end of the season and had a lot of injuries along the way so it isn’t really fair to judge them by their seed. However, things are definitely getting interesting with Dillon Brooks trying his best to get under LeBron’s skin. The next game will be a good one to watch as we see if LeBron is going to be able to respond or not.

Expected correction after a pretty incredible surge from $16,000 which was not really that long ago. Let’s hope we don’t go too much lower so we can consolidate and get pump hard into the end of Q2.

It’s the first correction we’ve had in a little bit, but it only wiped off a little over a week’s worth of gains. No reason to worry if it sticks around $28K for a while. It was expected to be choppy around $30K as the bulls reload for another moon shot to bring us back to around the $40K level, which I assume will be breached by the end of the year.

That Lakers game was terrible. No Ja Morant and they still got spanked. Once again LeBron James led the team with a worst +/- of -17. I hate to even think it, but maybe old age is starting to get to Bron. I don’t see how his team can win games if he has the worst +/- of anyone else in the game. Not even sure how to explain it.

Too much money coming in on the Lakers.  Vegas never loses, I'm taking the home town Grizzlies here.  With or without Ja I'm taking them.  Ja playing will just be a bonus.  I'm still not convinced the Lakers can keep this up.  I could be wrong.  But betting on a home team as a pickem in the playoffs can never be a bad bet.

Risky bet. The odds of Anthony Davis getting injured or LeBron James getting frustrated are probably higher than most people think though, so you’ve got a shot. If AD and LeBron are playing 35+ minutes though I don’t think the Grizzlies have a chance. We’ll see. The more interesting matchup for me tonight is the Timberwolves and Nuggets.

Some pictures have been released of the Cybertruck pilot production line. I’ve also seen them doing hiring for a variety of manufacturing positions related to the Cybertruck. It does appear that we are now just a matter of months away from seeing these beasts begin rolling off the assembly line. Still no word on final pricing or feature options.

3449  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Intel did it? on: April 19, 2023, 08:51:25 PM
They are cutting what they think is not profitable. I guess Intel simply got too big and too slow for the current ASIC market.

That and they had to make serious cuts in order to stop their stock price from bleeding. They reduced their dividend and made cuts across the board while announcing outsourcing plans. I think companies are still a bit scared of recessions after the 2008 collapse that nearly bankrupted everyone. Intel is just trying make sure they can survive a US recession.

This now combination of threads is mostly just an admission that liberals will believe anything they read so long as they want to believe it. The threads also show that in the face of irrefutable scientific evidence and mountains of supporting data, they will still not admit when they are wrong. Governments including the USA are now banning these “vaccines” and people arguing here about drinking urine are probably scheduling their next booster…

Technically satoshi never did post on this forum. He posted on the original forum before bitcointalk was created and I don’t think satoshi had anything to do with its formation. There are members still active on this forum that were responsible for its creation and continued existence.

I do think your take and price assumptions will likely be more accurate than your office mates want to believe.
3452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 19, 2023, 08:34:28 PM
^^ Yeah, same with the Grizzlies game, it was very close until Ja Morant went out and it changes the game for them. Of course, we will give credit to the Lakers for taking the game 1 at Memphis, Hachimura can't missed on the 3 point line.

And then what can we say? Reaves is quiet the first two quarters even missing a easy shot in the first quarter which he usually make. But in the 4th he takes over the game and the Lakers fan love him.

So there are two upsets tonight, Lakers over Memphis and then the Heat taking advantage of Giannis winning this one.

Yes, even if the Los Angeles Lakers had a much easier way in the fourth quarter because of Ja Morant's hand injury, we can't discredit Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura's presence in the court because they were a vital key and the main reasons why the Lakers owned the 1st game vs the Memphis Grizzlies. Well, AD and LeBron was good as expected but the key players was the highlight in this game.

That makes 3 upsets, Lakers defeated Grizzlies, Heat defeating the Bucks, and there are the Clippers who defeated the Suns as well.

And with that, it seems that the Memphis Grizzlies are not ruling out Ja Morant's playing in game 2. I wouldn't say that  this is a must win for them, but they don't want to dig a deeper hole against Lebron and the Lakers going into their homecourt with a 2-0 lead against them. So if there is by chance then Morant will have to show up in this game. It seems that every playoff though he got injured himself and so we are not seeing the full potential of his Memphis Grizzlies although they are not complete because 2 of their players are sideline already.

Even before the Lakers won game 1, I already thought that the Lakers are just too much for the young Memphis team. Now, they have proven that they are the better team, and with the situation of Morant, the Lakers could potentially have an edge. Even if Memphis wins game 2, and the Lakers win games 3 and 4, Memphis will still be in a big hole as only a few teams have come back from a 3-1 deficit.

It can happen that way or the young Memphis will use this as a good inspiration to win the game. Morant-less can be a good advantage for the Lakers, as the main gunner / scorer really affects the offense of their opponents.

Time for everyone to step up and provide numbers to cover what they'll possibly missed while Morant
is still in question if he will play in game 2.

They definitely wouldn't let this chance slide and take advantage of the Grizzlies situation while their big man is still out, Steven Adams, so does Clarke and of course with Morant's absence, it will definitely affect the team's confidence as their star player is needed in both offense and defense especially against a team with more experience like the Lakers.

The Memphis Grizzlies will be in a tough position and defending the Lakers will be a challenge for them, anyway, I'm looking forward on how will they play this game without some of their cores on the hardwood. Still an interesting game to see though.

I’m still seeing the Grizzlies as the odds favorite right now to win. Maybe an opportunity to bet the Lakers I guess. I’m wondering how final all the players reports are for the odds to still favor Memphis. It seems like at this point the Lakers should be the favorites. Maybe somebody knows something. I haven’t been keeping up with the basketball news today so it just seemed odd to me.
3453  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 19, 2023, 02:34:56 PM
Looks like the market it’s getting choppy at $30K as you would expect looking at the chop the last time we hit $30K on the way down. We’re basically mirroring that move which means when this chop does break up and we move another leg higher, the price should jump pretty much straight to $40K and pause for another consolidation period.

The Lakers are full of confidence now ever since Westbrook was traded. They seem to have found the best roster that could win a championship. If they win here despite being in a lower ranking, I believe they still have a shot against the winner of the GSW and Kings series.

Game 2 is very important for Memphis. If we believe they have a chance to win the series, then they should win Game 2 as it's a must-win for them.

As long as they have LeBron and Anthony Davis they have a shot at a title. The question is if they can stay healthy. They’re two of the most dominant players in the NBA when healthy but LeBron is an old man and Anthony Davis is made of glass. Still though, there is a chance they stay healthy and win it all. Their playoff path is probably as easy as they get.
3455  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH gas fees are a joke. on: April 19, 2023, 06:16:41 AM
If you think nine dollars is bad, you wouldn’t believe the prices people were paying for the chance to mint NFTs during hot drops. I believe fees were sometimes as much as $1,500 just to buy an overpriced NFT. Pretty insane looking back but people were lining up to do it in the hopes of a quick flip to make some money. During the peak, NFTs weren’t even worth the fees to get them.

How do you feel about the 4070 and its ROI? Is it worth picking up for a home miner? I’ve still got those 2 1080s I bought from you Phillip and could probably use an upgrade but I’m worried with the state of GPU mining it isn’t worth it. Would be interested in your opinion. It is nice that GPUs are once again available for MSRP.

I think he saw it as ‘I ran this program on my computer for a couple days and got a couple of free pizzas, cool.’

When I first started mining BTC, that’s how I thought. I’d let my computer run for a week and then I’d get an ounce of silver in the mail. It was amazing. I didn’t think of it as a $ amount or a BTC amount. I thought of it as X amount of work to get Y. I’m hindsight, I should have obviously coveted BTC like it was my next breath.

I’m just bummed to learn they’re going to splash down in the ocean instead of being caught by the tower. That would have been amazing to see. I understand they don’t want to damage the tower though. I can’t wait until they start testing that. It is going to be an amazing sight to see. For now though I’m excited to see Starship take off as a complete ship.
3459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 19, 2023, 05:26:35 AM
Chris Paul has lost his last 14 games when Scott Foster was the referee. Will tonight be the night he breaks that streak? With the Suns down 0-1 in the series, they certainly need it. As ridiculous as Scott Foster’s hate for Chris Paul is, I’m not sure I’d go against it. I’m honestly not sure how Scott Foster still has a job at this point…
And it seems that the jinx of Scott Foster against Chris Paul is over as the Suns is leading the Clippers in the last 5 minutes of the game. Unless something ugly happens wherein Kahwi and Westbrook made a huge comeback and the Suns Booker and Durant can't score.

So let's see, very interesting to see this stats being broken now by Chris Paul.

And if they win, then 1-1 going to Clippers home court next.

Yup, the Scott Foster curse has been broken. Pretty funny that the story of the night isn’t the Suns beating the Clippers but Chris Paul beating Scott Foster. One thing I will say is that Russell Westbrook had a hell of a game. It’s amazing how much different he looks after going from the Lakers to the Clippers. Happy for him.

I see that Woj is reporting Draymond Green will be suspended for stomping on Sabonis' ribs during game 2, but I've also read that isn't true and he isn't going to be suspended.  Anyone know what the actual news is or do we need to wait for an official announcement?

I also heard that Morant is injured, but who knows...  It's the playoffs.  Some guys will play with broken legs and other guys won't play with a hang nail.  We'll find out soon enough either way.
