3441  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The Essential NFL Thread 🏈🏈 - new poll every week on: January 22, 2020, 02:26:42 AM
I've been a 49ers fan for ever, so I might be a little bit biased.  The odds are wrong.   Grin

The 9ers are going to take this thing, not because the Chiefs suck, not because Mahomes isn't going to make it hard, but the 49ers are the more balanced team.  Bear with me here:  Statistics lie, there's no doubt.  They don't tell the whole story, show the whole picture, or take all intangibles into account.  But they do tell a story of their own, one of consistency and repeatability.

So, here we go, 2019 regular season stats:

Passing offence, yards per game, touchdowns:
#5. Chiefs; 281.1 y/g, 30 touchdowns.
#13. 49ers; 237.0 y/g, 28 touchdowns.

Rushing offence, yards per game:
#2. 49ers; 144.1 y/g, 23 touchdowns.
#23. Chiefs; 98.1 y/g, 16 touchdowns.

Total offence, yards per game:
#4. 49ers; 381.1
#6. Chiefs; 379.2

Total offence, points per game:
#2. 49ers; 29.9
#5. Chiefs; 28.2

Okay, now we can see that the Chiefs have a pass-heavy offensive scheme, and they're are in #23 in rushing yards per game.  The 9ers on the other hand show a penchant for running the ball.  As they demonstrated in week 14 against the saints, they can throw the ball too, but they certainly don't rely on it.  Despite the apparent discrepancy in passing offence the 9ers have scored more points per game.

Let's look at defense:

Pass defense, yard allowed:
#1. 49ers; 169.2 y/g
#8. Chiefs; 221.4 y/g

Run defense, yards allowed:
#17. 49ers; 112.6 y/g
#26. Chiefs; 128.2 y/g

Total defense, yards allowed:
#2. 49ers; 281.8
#17. Chiefs; 349.6

Points allowed
#7. Chiefs; 19.2
#8. 49ers; 19.4

By looking at the stats above one can quickly discern that the 9ers lead in 3 of the four offensive stats, and 3 of the four defensive stats.  It also becomes apparent the Chiefs are really good at passing the ball, while the 9ers are THE BEST at stopping the passing game.  But one needs to ask the obvious question; what can the Chiefs do if the 9ers are successful at stopping Mahomes?

The 49ers are a balanced team.  They might not be the best in all categories, but they certainly "score" as a better team on paper.  Again, the stats don't express the intangible things that can affect a game, like who wants it more, who's rested and healthy, who is focused on the game, and who's going to execute without mistakes.

Ironically, while I was compiling the stats above, I couldn't help but notice the similarities between the 49ers' numbers and those of the Ravens.  Well, we all know what happened to the ravens, so by no means am I under any illusions as to how this could go.  However, I'm pretty confident 49ers can win this thing if they don't beat themselves... Like the Ravens did.

seems you didn't notice $ in title.

Many countries use the "$" symbol for their currency, not just the US.  I know Canada, Mexico, Chile, Columbia, Australia, and New Zealand all use it.  I think Singapore is another, but I'm not sure about that.  There may be others as well.

This drama started before I even knew about this forum, and it's obvious QuickSeller and Lauda have had no love lost during my tenure.  It's good to see two people end a long-held dispute mutually and amicably.

Kudos to both of you for taking the high road!

I seem to recall having an issue with this once upon a time.  First thing to do is back up your wallet files, and save them some place safe.  Then try uninstall, restart the PC, then reinstall.  That should work.  Restore your wallet files once you confirm it's working again.

I will admit the only person I saw wearing that signature was wolwoo.  If you did not, then please accept my apology for suggesting you did.

Yobit as a whole is cancer, but the user in question isnt spamming or fucking the forum.

Yobit is a cancer, not just to the forum, but for crypto in general.  But the two users identified by JollyGood in the opening post wore the signature quoted below, which is obviously a pump-and-dump scheme being used by Yobit to scam their clients.  Promoting another forum or a shady exchange is one thing, promoting an obvious scam is another.

3447  Economy / Reputation / Re: TMAN False Feedback on: January 21, 2020, 05:25:19 PM
I am still not seeing how a negative rating or a flag is justified for some one speaking positively of anyone regardless of how fraudulent you think they might be. This is straight up guilt via association, the kind of legal standards they had in The Soviet Union.

He was promoting, vouching for, and defending a lying scammer.  I suspect hey may have been paid or had other financial incentives to promote the deceptive service.  Is it really that difficult to conceive why he was tagged and flagged?
3448  Economy / Reputation / Re: Should DT and Merit Source Members Be Promoting A Known Scam? on: January 21, 2020, 05:01:44 PM
I think wolwoo should stop promoting YoBit so everyone can move on. As a side note, I think the same is true for Yahoo, including him managing (or whatever he is calling it)

If this means the spam is bad for a few days from YoBit posters, then YoBit signatures will get banned again.

Yahoo62278 has been a tremendous help to the forum for his participation.  Short of a permanent ban against the Yobit campaigns (no objections here) Yobit will continue find a way to spam the forum.  So far theymos has been unwilling to ban the company from advertising on the forum.  Unless or until that happens, we don't have any better option than hoping yahoo62278 continues in his current roll.

For someone who wants to be a merit source and on Default Trust, don't you think that you should demonstrate better judgement, follow the rules, and lead by example?

3449  Other / Meta / Re: Is account sale legal? on: January 21, 2020, 04:32:23 PM
Trading accounts will often to lead people to scam, while merit abuse doesn't seem to pose the same risk (from what I've seen.)  It might be a long and convoluted road, but it starts with the reasoning behind an individual wanting to buy an account in the first place.  Some want to buy an account because they are planning a scam, and want a trusted account.  I think these are probably the exception, not the rule.

Why do most people want buy an account when it's free to build your own?  Most of the time it's because they see the potential to earn money here on the forum, and want to cash in on that potential.  If we scrutinize many of those who are tempted to buy an account we will probably see that they are incapable of developing a profitable account on their own.  Doing so requires writing skills, patience, and a significant amount of concern for the forum (or the ability to feign concern.)  Those who come here to cash in are not likely to care about the forum, and most lack patience.

Once they find themselves having purchased an account, and possibly paying a high price for the "right" account, now what?  They must still demonstrate the writing skills and involvement to qualify for a well paying signature job.  Many will find that the account that cost them a lot of money is only part of the equation, a small part.  Writing skills, patience, and concern for the community are still required to keep the account profitable.

Once they've come to that conclusion, their frustration with the inability to earn will likely lead them to attempt a scam.  I have had people with high ranking accounts ask me for a loans, and upon scrutiny I came to the suspicion that the accounts were likely purchased, the owner was unable to profit with the account, and now is looking for a "loan" (exit scam) to compensate him for the loss of purchasing the account in the first place.

These people would be better served learning how to develop an account on their own.  If they finally come to the conclusion that they are unable to do so, they have not suffered any monetary loss, and will not likely fall into the temptation to scam anyone.  Even if they do, they will not be in a position that would garner trust.

I added the "resources" section to the OP.  Lenders and borrowers alike: if you think of some information that would be helpful to add to the OP let me know.

I updated ChrisPop's rates, and added our newest (greedy) lender to the list.  Wink

Notice the instructions on the first page instruct you to press the "Next" button to create a new wallet, or choose another file.  Since you've never used Electrum before you'll have to create your first wallet.  Once you start Electrum click the "Next" button on the lower left.  Do not click the "choose" button.  It will walk you through creating a new wallet.

3452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: January 20, 2020, 05:51:47 PM
Is Liverpool still playing in both the domestic cup games?   I mean wow...  It's the kind of season City aims to achieve with Pep.  Win League Cup, FA Cup, EPL, the CL and be undefeated all in one season.

We played the kids in the League Cup 1/4 final & got knocked out by Aston Villa.
We play Shrewsbury in the next round of the FA Cup & of course Atletico in the CL.

It would have been cool to see LFC match City and take all three domestic leagues, but I get the decision to start the padawans for that quarterfinal EFL match.  LFC had the Club World Cup semi-final in Mexico the next day, and I believe the payoff for that decision is evident.

I'm anxious for the Atletico matches, I would love to see LFC take the CL and the EPL this year.  I'm sure they'll have no problem taking the FA cup as well, if their are no scheduling conflicts.
3453  Economy / Reputation / Re: @PrimeNumber7 is an alt account of @Quickseller on: January 20, 2020, 04:15:48 PM
Many consider his transgressions as irredeemable, and would only relish in the opportunity to tarnish his alt account.
Up until this very day, his transgressions haven't stop and this includes this very case. Where do you see him asking or being worthy of forgiveness? Fool me once is alright, but fool me > 100 times is what we're playing now? He could/should/would have at the very least stopped what he was doing years ago were there any intent for honesty in him at any point in time. Do you believe people like this change overnight? I really wish he had stopped many years ago, but he didn't..
Would you have forgiven me for this many transgressions? Surely the fuck not. So why are we talking about this?

I can assume he's still engaging account sales, but I haven't seen significant proof of that.  I don't think account farming is as profitable or as simple anymore.  Look at the effort he put into PN7 to developed that account, it would be impractical to believe he could do that on a grand scale.  Even developing two accounts simultaneously would be difficult, or at the very least time consuming.  The self escrow thing isn't likely to happen again, I can't imagine anyone trusting CS (or PN7) for escrow services.

So the only transgression I assume he may be engaging in is account sales.  However, I don't believe that my assumptions should get in the way of PN7's ability to engage in signature bounties.  That's really the only lea-way I'm offering him.  I'm not suggesting "forgiveness" equate to DT inclusions or trusted trading.  Quite the contrary.

And when I really boil it down, all of this stems from our assumptions.  Sure we all came to the same conclusions independently, which is telling, but even a collective assumption doesn't equate to solid evidence.  As a result I'm willing to allow some lea way because their is a shred of doubt that I cannot ignore.
3454  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The Essential NFL Thread 🏈🏈 - new poll every week on: January 20, 2020, 03:38:47 AM
I am not as excited anymore after the Titan's loss. It was the last team, aside from the Patriots and the Ravens that might make the superbowl more dramatic hehehe.

As a Niner's fan, I wholly understand your desires, and reject them for the sake of my blood pressure.  The Ravens scared me the most, they would have made a close game of it.  The Patriots would have made it a really fun game, too.  The Kansas City Chiefs don't scare me the same way.  Obviously they're an explosive team and no lead is safe when Mahomes is on the field.  But I'm confident the Niners can win it, early odds put them as 1.5 point favorites.

Lol, that was a cake walk first half.  I love Jimmy Garoppolo's numbers for the game 6/8 for 77 yards.  WTF?  Well shit, when you have drives like the one that consisted of 5 runs for 75 yards and a touch down, why do you need to throw the ball?  Just think if it was the Saints instead of the Packers, we would have 900 combined passing yards.
3455  Economy / Reputation / Re: @PrimeNumber7 is an alt account of @Quickseller on: January 20, 2020, 12:20:21 AM
Are you Quickseller?
I don't think there's any answer that will help PN7: if he says yes, he gets tagged to pieces, and if he says no, people won't believe it. So there's nothing to win and only things to lose.

I'm not trying to help him. I believe there is some value in being honest and I also believe PN7 can't honestly answer "no" to that question. FWIW I appreciate how hard he's trying to not lie here but that little detail is overshadowed by the entire deceptive sockpuppeting show.

I don't want to come off like I'm excusing QuickSeller, but I think LoyceLight makes a very valid point.  I say the following with the assumption (and belief) that PN7 is indeed an alt of QS:

I appreciate that he's not outright lying and saying "no" to your question.  I too value the honesty, and I would like to believe that if he came clean, I would see that as a step towards redemption.  But can I really leave it at that and give him the benefit of the doubt going forward?  I think I know my self well enough to know that I can, but at the same time I'll admit it's easier said than done.  Again I believe in forgiveness, but must remind myself continuously of that belief.

I think if QS comes clean and admits PN7 is his alt, some of us would allow him to continue his effort to build an account with which he can earn some income, and hopefully at the same time we can prevent any effort to build false trust.  I would prefer this scenario over any other.  But, can other members of DT commit to being so restrained?  I fear the answer is no.  Many consider his transgressions as irredeemable, and would only relish in the opportunity to tarnish his alt account.

Conversely, if PN7 comes out and says that he's not QS' alt, I would not believe him.  In my opinion, his reputation would be tarnished beyond his current status of being not dishonest.

So I tend to agree with LoyceV here.  There's really no wining in this situation.  Our desire to know will not likely be quenched any time soon.  In fact I think it's a bit arrogant to expect that QS/PN7 (the biological) would make his situation worse than it is currently just to satisfy our curiosity.

Agree to disagree?

Of course.  I don't know if it's out of choice or necessity, but it's simultaneously my mantra and my survival mechanism.  I am a conservative in California, after all.  Undecided
3456  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Main Club Partner of Watford FC ⚽ Fun. 🏀 Fast. 🎾 Fair. on: January 19, 2020, 09:52:31 PM
I am not watching but it seems like United is being completely dominated right? Plus two disallowed goals for LFC?! 😂

Right, and right. They did have 1 shot on goal and one off, and an almost tap in and Pereyra (spelling) missed, but we should have had another goal. VVD escaped his market, made his way to the front unchallenged and basically almost a free header. 2 yellows for United too, so they're definitely feeling this heat in the Anfield cauldron haha.

Still, didn't like the way we showed them a way through near the end. We're focusing almost all attacks from the left, which is strange, Trent almost no action, and their strongest defender (Bissaka) is there. Maybe we switch in the second half.

de Gea looks like he wants to slap his defenders, so yeah. I'm happy.

De Gea was definitely getting frustrated there.  One of those yellow cards was on de Gea for yelling at the official because he missed the foul by Van Dijk, ironically.  That disallowed the goal by Firmino, which was a thing of beauty on it's own.  It was a great match; both teams made had missed opportunities.  But, @efialtis is right, LFC has forgotten how to lose, lol.

I liked Watford's outing this week.  I know they left points on the table, but I think a draw against the Spurs was a good result.  They've been playing pretty good, and even a scoreless game was fun to watch.  It seems like they're getting better and better every week.  I think they have a series of winnable matches for the next few weeks.  I'm rooting for 9 points out of the next three matches, but I'm afraid things are going to get a bit tougher after that...

So much philosophical pontification!  Unfortunately no level of verbosity can convince me that "forgiveness" "pardon" and "trust" are conflatable.  Any one can singularly exist independent of the others.  You make an articulate argument, but wrong nonetheless.
3458  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The Essential NFL Thread 🏈🏈 - new poll every week on: January 19, 2020, 07:15:41 PM
3 games left damn...

I don't blame you, but I think you're forgetting about the pro bowl, lol.

I'm super pumped for today, don't believe Titans and Green Bay can pull upsets but regardless i took both teams to cover their respective spreads in a small parlay. For the weekly poll i went with Packers +7.5 but with that scary pass rushing defense 49ers have i'm not sure it will stand.

Pretty exciting weekend!  Many local businesses are jumping on the 49ers' bandwagon.  It's starting to look a bit like "49ers Christmas" around here.

Tennessee has a chance but they need to make that an ugly game, they cannot let KC and their receivers run circles around them or they will lose that game, they need to get physical with them and not let them run their routes, they need to short-circuit the timing of that offence, they will also need that Tannehill has a good game, so far they did not needed a good performance from him but KC will score 30+ points easily and even if Henry has a monster game he cannot do everything by himself.

If the Titans can force the Chiefs to make mistakes, and exploit them for points, then they do have a chance.  The Chiefs are unstoppable when they're in the zone, so the Titans have to keep them struggling to get into the zone.  If there's an upset this weekend I think it'll be Titans.  Their run game is going to be a big factor, but that also requires the defense to keep the Chiefs from running away with the score.  I don't expect the Titans to win, but I picked them to cover.

3459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: January 19, 2020, 06:31:51 PM
Wow, Liverpool is a juggernaut!  Absolutely incredible finishing goal by Salah!  They are on track to break so many records, and are now arguably best Premier League team in history.

ManU was the only team to take points away from LFC with a draw earlier in the season.  They couldn't repeat what now seems like Herculean feat, and having to attempt it in Anfield makes it even more improbable.

Congratulations to LFC and all their fans for an absolutely magnificent season so far.
3460  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [!WARNING!] Escrow Impostors on Telegram [!WARNING!] on: January 19, 2020, 06:17:04 PM
Today I learned Telegram users can hide their "handle" and add someone else's handle as their "Bio". Yesterday, I was contacted by a suspeciously interested person posing as a BlueWallet dev. I totally thought it was the real account doing rogue things!

I barely use Telegram so I'm not very familiar with what should be where exactly in the profile. Those are terrible features that shouldn't exist at all!

I also notice that some members are able to hided there handle.  I'm not exactly sure how that's done, maybe they aren't selecting one at all.  The @userinfobot still works to retrieve their unique user ID number.  That cannot be changed, but it may hidden from you if you are blocked by that user.

  • Always check the Telegram ID of the person you are talking to

Are you exchanging currency, or maybe you need some help from a representative of some service - always check them by different ways to avoid a scammer. Usually scammers have multiple accounts. From one account they just watch the chat, and as soon as a new user is added, they offer their "help" immediately in direct messages from second account, pretending to be a representative of some service. (see screenshots at the end of the post).

Do not confuse the Telegram ID with the account name or username. Account name and username it's very easy to change them, as well as the profile image. Telegram ID -- is a special numerical code, which is assigned to everyone during registration. This identifier is necessary for the system to correctly save data and link it to a specific user.

Use @userinfobot to find out the Telegram ID:

  • To find out your Telegram ID, send any message to the bot: @userinfobot
  • To find out the Telegram ID of any user, forward any of his messages to the bot: @userinfobot

A couple of months ago, Telegram made it possible to hide even Telegram ID (it surprised me very much). To people who hide their Telegram ID you should be especially vigilant.
