Between a gtx 1660 super and rx580 8gb which one is good for 2022 mining? I heard ETH is going away but I still have interest in mining coins for 2024 sake so I will hold every coins I'm going to make starting from now, which one is the best?
Wait for news from Ethereum developers in January 2022. A profit of $ 1.5 per day from a video card will not allow you to accumulate a lot of coins. The gtx 1660 super uses less power and I would prefer to buy this graphics card, but not at current prices. For some reason, it seems to me that next year there will be a massive sale of mining equipment. Many mining rigs will go offline, a 30MH GPU can give only 1$ per day or even less but the quantities of the coins will be more, I'm not sure about Ethereum but I'm certain about coins like ravencoin, ergo and others, I will also prefer the 1660s over the AMD they tend to support more algorithms than ETH For a long time, a profit of 1 dollar a day was a very good result for a video card with a hash rate of 1 megahash and a consumption of 100-120 watts. You quickly forgot the time when this profit was less than 20 cents, and many miners turned off their farms and sold video cards.

Total waste of money If you ask me, I can buy a RTX 3060ti non LHR for 1070$ in my country right now and this card gives me 60-61MH per GPU, what's the use of a brand new mining GPU that can't even give better performance compare to old GPUs?
Server Mi-25 16G is made on the platform of the Vega video card, which is excellent for Ethereum mining. But if you look at the performance on other algorithms, you will realize that this is a very bad buy for the future. Very high energy consumption when mining.

You aren't planning to game on the motherboard right? The truth is mining doesn't care about pcie 2.0, 3.0 or even 4.0 so don't bother yourself with this, the only way you can see difference is when trying to play PC games which 4.0 pcie slot will perform better
Have you watched the 3.0 pcie and 4.0 pcie benchmarks in games? The performance gain is noticeable only in synthetic tests, while in gaming tests the increase is from 1 to 10%. But 10% is under certain conditions. I will not write links for you, you can independently find the test results in Google. Soon, video card manufacturers are promising 5.0 pcie. I'm guessing the pcie 5.0 will make a big difference in games but still not mining unless a new type of algorithm is been built and used to utilize the mining algorithm somehow but the chances of that happening is very little, with the way gaming world is going I believe they have reached the limit of graphical power for now I think this is a new way to get you to spend money on a new processor, motherboard and other components, and get a 10-20% increase in performance. Otherwise, gamers will not buy expensive equipment. 4.0 pcie cannot yet be fully used in games.

Check out these statistics https://miningpoolstats.stream/ethereumIf your hash rate is less than 10 GH/s, then you better mine on the pool, because you will get more profit. With a hash rate of 430 Mh/s, you can earn about $ 800 per month, and accumulate 1 coin in a few months. Yea, I know, you are right about that. It just amazes me (and pisses me off), when lower hashrate miners find blocks, with practically no luck. Like a couple of weeks ago, a non-proxy miner having barely 100Mh/S found a block at 0% luck! Yea, luck does play a huge factor, lol. I am also trying to cop more cards, but they are hard. I tried solo mining and saw miners who received several blocks per month with a hash rate of several gigahashes. There are no blocks with a large commission now, and therefore there is no point in wasting time looking for blocks in solo mining with such hashrate.

I preferred socket AM2, for example GA-MA69G-S3H, foxconn-n570sm2aa and other analogs, but the problem is that these motherboards broke because they were over 10 years old. They also worked out of the box and did not require special BIOS settings. Even on socket am2 there seemed to be motherboards for 5 video cards, but I don't remember their models.

I do not know what problems you have with AMD video cards, but the 6600-6800 series are very good video cards and are cold. Also there were no serious problems with the 5500-5700 series, the 5700 series had problems with overheating due to poor cooling from some manufacturers. But AMD does not make LHR video cards

If Ethereum mining stops working, then the advantage of AMD 8 GB video cards over AMD 4 GB video cards will decrease, and these video cards will mine Ethereum Classic or Raven Coin. 1660 super or 5600 ht have more possibilities for mining before old 480/580 series.

What can make a GPU to stop displaying on screen after months of mining with the GPU without display? I was tracking my mining through HiveOS android application on my smartphone but today I decide to insert the GPU in a gaming motherboard but no display, returned the GPU into mining mobo and mining works but inserting hdmi cable I got no display still...
Unplug your graphics cards and test the integrated graphics. If the Integrated graphics does not work, then reset the BIOS, connect one video card and make settings with it. HiveOS does not require a working video output for mining settings. You can customize the system by copying the configuration file to another PC.

After updating the BIOS, I would try mining with another Core i5 processors. If the hash rate did not increase, then you need to think about changing the motherboard. But before that, try other miners, maybe this will help. To bypass the LНR blocking, of course, it is better to use more modern motherboards.

I have a gigabyte motherboard B85-HD3 that's giving me a headache presently, I'm trying to run a 3080 GPU and a 1660 super on this motherboard but it's not working, whenever I removed the 3080 the mobo will boot up fine and vice versa, what can I do?
Please update BIOS to the most recent version first. Install the 3080 video card in the upper X16 port, and connect the other video card through the raiser. If it doesn't work, https://forum.giga-byte.co.uk/index.phpDo you have a BIOS loaded when installing 2x graphic cards?

The GA-970A-DS3P has been a good choice for many miners for many years. Very cheap components and no BIOS settings, works out of the box. Serves excellently for over 5 years. Only specialized motherboards for mining are better than this motherboard. Used such motherboards are sold after 4-5 years of mining, and may have problems in the form of broken ports, etc. I do not recommend buying without checking.

I'm hestitent to go used cuz these get beat up in this use. The price of the new RTX2060 is at a similar price/GB as the 3060 eagle.... I don't mind the small premium for the future-proofness and lifespan compared to used. .
What I DON'T know is : what other 24gb card can I compare? How do I determine the electricity use of a card?
And what is "MH"? Or maybe ist just "M"? I see discussion about this but can't see how to determine it from the ads for the gpu.....
Buy better video cards from the rtx3060 and rtx3070 series. They have very low power consumption and LHR restrictions only apply to coins with Ethash and Autolykos (Ergo) algorithms. But these video cards give excellent results on ProgPow, ZelHash and other algorithms.

With such problems, it is impossible to give correct advice. You need to either wait until something breaks or try different options for mining software. Don't jump to conclusions, wait a few weeks. I also had problems with phoenix miner and the problem went away after using another miner.

For еthereum, I have not seen USB miners, because the coin has a very large hash rate, and more powerful equipment is required for mining. Мining usb sticks are probably more interesting for collectors, or for novice users who want to try a quiet miner.

how profitable is the 570 4gb? been planning to mine with those but the profitability calc is giving me low profit. i have this cards for 2 years. only 2 options: throw them away or run them. small money is also money If Revenue 24h at $ 1 is very little for you with a $ 250 graphics card, then sell and buy more modern graphics cards. An important point is the cost of electricity.

Would the +100W TDP (450W) affect mining efficiency or can the power limit probably just be tuned down more than now without a significant loss?
Are you asking about the RTX 3090 graphics card? The optimal solution for mining this video card is 114-120 megahash with a consumption of about 300 watts. You will not be very successful if you add the power limit. This will only lead to additional overheating of the video card. Actually I‘m asking about a 3090Ti that comes with a 100 Watt higher TDP than the 3090. My question was if a higher TDP is relevant for mining - or whether you could just „undo“ the higher TDP with a lower power limit to get a higher efficiency than the 3090 has. Of course it could also come as a LHR card - that‘s just something we don‘t know yet. I have not seen any reviews for the 3090Ti. If such a model is released, well-known bloggers will make mining tests. Since this model will be the most powerful and expensive, I would not rush to buy it for mining, but study other people's experience. When will this video card start shipping?

But its normal when the gpu its pluged to frezze the whole rig?
An important rule of any miner is not to repair the video card on a working mining farm. To do this, you need to use a separate computer with a built-in video card, so as not to flash the BIOS of another video card by mistake. If you do not want to follow this rule, then during the experiments, disconnect the working video cards, and if the motherboard does not have integrated graphics, then use any GPU, such as GT 210.

The most dangerous thing is a raiser with lower capacitors or a raiser with a short circuit. This can only be determined by visual inspection. If you buy from a trusted supplier and the video card works for some time, then only by replacing the raisers. I bought all raisers on aliexpress, or from people who also bought raisers on aliexpress.
