We have currently only windows and linux.

is there any way of adapting a bitcoin paper wallet generator? i've no idea how complex that might be though.

It should be relative easy for someone who knows what they are doing since the same private key will generate the same public key for both Bitcoin and Bitcore.
3442  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: can i still mine bitcoin with my graphics card ? on: June 22, 2017, 01:50:03 PM
Best bet would be to rent your hash through Minerrentalrigs with a failover to Nicehash.

Just started selling hash through Nicehash.  Are you recommending Minerrentalrigs over it for increased profitabilty vs. Nicehash?

With Minerrentalrigs, you can set your own rate. So it could be more profitable. But you may have a lot of idle time, waiting for someone to rent your hash. It may be easier to just rent through nicehash, since they have the option to switch algo to most profitable.

Should there be higher ranks?

There is one higher rank, Founder. Only Satoshi himself has this rank. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3

3446  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where to use altcoin staking on: June 17, 2017, 01:56:01 PM
i have some pos coins and i want to stake them pos wallet nearly delisted all of the coins and where are you guys keep your pos coins for staking,I have a laptop and keeping a laptop on 24/7 is not possible and can you guys recommends some online staking service that I can trust

Learn how to use a VPS server like Vultr. You can stake 24/7 there. Also, you are in complete control of your private keys.

which one of their options is needed for this purpose, i can see the cheapest one is $2.5 per month! offering 20GB SSD and 500 GB bandwidth! how can it be true and is this enough?
also i didn't find bitcoin payment, i beleive they only accept credit cards, if i am correct do you know any others that are good, cheap and accept bitcoin? thanks.

Vultr does accept bitcoin. I'm not sure if the $2.5 option is enough. You would need to create a swapfile in the Linux VPS for anything under 1.5GB of ram.
3447  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How is my weight greater than the network weight? on: June 17, 2017, 05:55:32 AM
I am a bag holder of a POS coin. (POS should be construed as an appropriate acronym in both senses.) I notice that my weight is consistently greater than the network weight. How can that be? Is the network weight calculation everybody else's weight except mine? The coin is a BitcoinDark clone.

Litecoin's gonna breakout hard, charts bullish......one of the few alts (monero too) that isnt scammyish.
I have no way of actually knowing, but I'm probably helping people go long on LTC on Polo with my margin lending. Wasn't paying attention. Should have transferred funds to margin and went long myself hours ago.
3450  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where to invest my 20 BTC (lifesavings) on: June 17, 2017, 03:10:39 AM
I dont want something very risky with high profit ,
I wanna invest in something with 2-2.5% monthly profit .

Rofl. You don't want risk but you want at least 24% a year return. I seriously think this community and all of the newbs get more naive every day. Walk into a bank and buy their highest rate GIC with fiat. There you go. No risk. Enjoy that 2%/yr income!

Yay, this is almost like a bunch of gamblers hanging out at a craps table, and the shooter's on a good run. Everyone's cheering while their stacks of chips increase many times over, but eventually the point then 7 out rolls will start coming.

To me lending your money to Poloniex is like walking into an unlicensed casino and giving them money to lend to people. That's so high risk they should be paying you 30% a month so then at least after 3 months you only needs to risk what you've already earned off of them.

At least in your example, you can be rest assured there would be staff that's willing to break some legs on any welchers.  Cheesy So, your example is probably a better risk if you have the right "connections."

Poloniex Lending gives you 3-5% per month. You are "only" risking your whole stash to an exchange.

Not a good idea. What would happen if Poloniex owner decides to leave with your hard earned money?

There are also been reports of money lost during margin positions opened, not sure if that also applies to open loan orders.

So just hold your BTC unless you have a clear idea of what to do with them.

That's why investing by margin lending at Poloniex pays 36%+ per year. If I were to go into any other investment and see that they were paying 36% a year, I would consider that a high risk investment. Like a small cap or junk bond. If someone wants to be absolutely safe, they should just buy gold and sit on it. Chances are their ounce of gold, when converted to fiat, will be able to buy the same amount of goods and service, throughout their lifetime. It's the ultimate hedge against inflation. Someone should really evaluate how much risk they are willing to take and invest accordingly.

Everyone looking forward to the weekend dumps?

Satoshi needs to come out of hiding with all of his BTC and dump all the markets down to $1.00 while I'm involved in a short. I'm sure the markets will recover quickly.  Grin
3454  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [ESHOP launched] Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: June 17, 2017, 12:35:28 AM
My stingy ass just bought a Trezor wallet today. Reason that I waited so long is because my BTC holdings are only like 1.3 BTC. My BTC holdings have never exceeded 3 BTC. However, gone are the days that my mini-BTC holding just doesn't justify purchasing a hardware wallet. 0.07 BTC for my purchase, today compared to the .50 BTC it would have cost back in 2015, seems very reasonable. I didn't realize Trezor had a password manager. I'll have to check it out when I get it.
3455  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: BEWARE of POLONIEX BTC WITHDRAWS on: June 17, 2017, 12:05:35 AM
With all this bad news involving most of the exchanges, I just purchased a new Trezor wallet. I have some 0.90 BTC on Poloniex now involved in Margin lending. Will be moving out BTC in small chunks from Polo once I get my wallet. Hope I don't encounter too many problems. The .10% interest per day just isn't worth the risk anymore. I delayed getting a hardware wallet since I only hold about 1.2 BTC. However, BTC is worth over $2000 per BTC now. So I think a BTC wallet is actually worth it now even though I don't hold much. I have to stop thinking like I did when my BTC was only worth 250.00 per BTC.

How long till the party officially gets pumping again ?

I suspect this Party may be over and I got left holding the bag. These "updates" that I have tried to do, literally took me hours for only a couple lines of code.  Cheesy Last night, I noticed both block explorers are offline. I tried to set one up myself, and after hours, was completely unsuccessful. Hope some people better qualified than I can step up to the plate and get this Party going again. It would be nice if the dev would come back. Even if it is just to assure us that his plans are going forward.

price going down again? Sad

it will go down more whent he block time of 2.5 will kick in, because there will be more coin mined by miners, and they will dump 4x the amount they are dumping now, stupid decision imho
Its the same amount of coins, half a quarter of the coins per block.

FTFY
3458  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 15, 2017, 01:16:05 AM
Looks like most of the alts markets are not doing too well either. So much for trying to hedge with Alts.
3459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PARTY] PartyCoin - PoW/PoS Hybrid | 121% Yearly Stake | Airdrop Closing | on: June 15, 2017, 12:59:38 AM
I hardcoded another checkpoint at block 128400 and corrected the copyright info on the "About PartyCoin" screen. I also updated the version to v1.5.6.0. Please give my work a try. https://github.com/bones261/PartyCoin/releases/tag/V1.6.6.0
Please note that I am only a novice and do not consider myself part of the development team. Although the binaries appear to work fine on my system, I am in no position to guarantee my work. Proceed with caution.
Enjoy.

I have my coins at Coinsmarkets. Not the most modern exchange but they support coin staking however, and you can see the staking rewards from deposit tab. The downside is that they do not have support for any 2FA methods, so your password has to be  secure enough if you want to use the site.

I didn't even realize we are on Coinmarkets since it was never mentioned in the OP. Nice to know.

It looks like we are down to one block explorer and one pool. FindBlocks had some maintenance, but has not put PartyCoin pool back up. Hope they put us back up. I had to e-mail the pool operator last night because the pool's wallet was sending out invalid transactions. I hope that I didn't piss the pool operator off. My e-mail wasn't nasty at all.

hi guys were re adding the coin we had a glitch with the server but were re adding it now as i type this Smiley

Thanks for the update. I'll point some hash your way as soon as you get our pool back up.  Wink

What exchange can I buy?

Consider buying some hash on Mining Rental Rigs. https://www.miningrigrentals.com/
Set up an account here http://altcoinix.com/party/public and point your hash to it.
We need more miners to make the network secure.
Even better is if you know how to solo mine. I haven't been able to figure it out.
Of course, if you buy some coins from Yobit and put them in your personal wallet, the staking will help secure the network too. Yobit doesnt appear to be staking the coin, So we need coins off the exchange and staking in wallets.
