3441  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Need advice: Should I sell all my altcoins due to BCC and BTC issue? on: July 28, 2017, 09:06:06 AM
if you are sure that the cause of the price of altcoin dropping is because of btc, then instead of selling  at loss, you should buy more. bitcoin will recover and so are your altcoins. but if what you have are shitcoins, then you are loss at the very beginning.

3443  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEWYORKCOIN LOGO POLL on: July 27, 2017, 08:03:14 AM
original logo is still the best. the others are just plain crap, in my opinion.
3444  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So much bad news. When will it end ? on: July 27, 2017, 07:33:43 AM
This is nothing new. it is a cycle. there will always be a series of bad and good news for bitcoin. How will you use this news to your advantage should be your concern. you can cry all day because of negative news or you can open a good position on it.
3445  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to make money in cryptocurrencies? on: July 27, 2017, 01:07:07 AM
3 weeks is a very short span of time, you do not expect to make 10x of your initial money unless you are an expert day trader. You need capital, experience and time to be a profitable trader, which I think you do not have. instead of targeting short, instant profit, why not go for long term investments. invest in bitcoin and education. learn how to be a good trader and someday 10x will be an easy target.
3446  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which wallet can keep both kinds of Bitcoin before and after 1st Aug? on: July 26, 2017, 10:41:01 PM
I don't know why we need to even worry about such thing, cause of the price is going to be the same for both kinds.

Because we need to protect our bitcoin, not all online wallets or exchanges gives their user access to their private keys or give a choice in which coin to use. Whatever happens on August 1, it is always better to be safe. if your wallet does not let you have your private keys, then you should move your coins to any wallet that lets you control your bitcoin. this is just to be safe, it does not mean there will be a split.

3448  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Buy new altcoins in ICO stage = profit? on: July 26, 2017, 08:52:15 PM
Title.

Basically is this how its done to receive a profit on Cryptocurrency?

or just invest when research and news is done.

Thank you

It is not always like that. In my opinion, it is riskier entering ICO's than when it is already in the market though the profit could be much larger if the ICO pans out. There is always the risk that the ICO is a scam,  the project will not push through or the devs dumping on you when it hits the market leaving you the bag holder.
3449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which altcoin are you holding for Aug 1 on: July 26, 2017, 04:47:19 PM
I am holding xem and bash. I do not think there is a need to convert to alt or fiat anymore because there is no more threat on that day but if ever things changes, I will convert some to xem and some I will keep. My bitcoins are safely kept anyway, so the only thing I am protecting if I convert to alt or fiat is the monetary value. If bitcoin price falls, I just have to hold on my bitcoins.
3450  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: July 26, 2017, 02:47:14 PM
No solid news but there is solid evidence. Derrick Rose signing with the Cleveland Cavaliers is pretty much telling us that they are preparing fro the worst. And the shocking part is Derrick Rose accepting a 2.1 million dollar deal is the biggest bargain you could ever get. The question is will Derrick Rose be a good replacement for Kyrie Irving and will they be a better team? Maybe because it depends on what they will receive from trading away Kyrie I just hope it will be enough to win a championship.

I do not think DRose is intended to be a starting point guard. With his status right now, he is just a substitute pg. I think the cavs are imploding but let us see what will be the development now that they have a proper GM. If they do not make a good trade in exchange for Kyrie, I do not think they will have a chance for a championship even if they have the king on their side.
3451  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why the transaction price of bitcoin so high? on: July 26, 2017, 11:33:21 AM
This just shows that there are still a lot of bitcoin users who do not know how miners fee works and how it is computed and adjusted according to mempool. I think there is already tons of threads here discussing that so i will not explain it here anymore. But i advice op to at least learn the basics of bitcoin so he won't be surprised about this things.
3452  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is now dropping again on: July 26, 2017, 07:26:01 AM
As always, it is just another fud trying to shake the newbies away from their bitcoin. And it seems to be effective because the price dropped significantly since last night. If it drops more, i might buy some more bitcoin. if not, i will just ignore this development.
3453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stop all the ICOS now! SEC is coming! on: July 25, 2017, 10:49:41 PM
The only affected icos are those scam icos who does not really have a real project and intends to run with the accumulated funds. I think that is a good move because there are lots of uninformed investors in icos who throw their money in any ico that comes their way. investors really needed to be educated in dealing with icos.
3454  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: July 25, 2017, 05:00:42 PM
Any insider news on where Kyrie is heading?

Well it seems that kyrie's really on his way out as the cavs are right on signing drose probably to fill the void at least with irving's departure. I'm also curious as to how this will play out. It's said that kyrie would prefer the spurs though i don't see anyone in the spurs' lineup that would be a good exchange.

There's no turning back for Kyrie or the Cavs here so it's safe to say he's as good as gone. I think he will go to the Wolves, a strange destination sure but he and Butler are best friends and Kyrie almost demanded a trade to Chicago predraft. Butler also was in talks about joining the Cavs before being traded to Minnesota so I think they will make the impossible to land Kyrie.

The only thing I'm a little skeptical about is that the Wolves won't have any assets to offer. The Spurs on the other hand are eager to unload Aldridge...

I once saw a rumor that kyrie will be traded for aldridge and mills. if this happens, it is a win win for both teams. Parker is old and should be retiring soon and kyrie is a good replacement for him.
3455  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should I invest On BITCOIN right Now or Later on: July 25, 2017, 05:12:18 AM
August 1st is already irrelevant.FUD is already over and the price is starting to kickoff. And this question has been answered over and over in this forum. No matter what the consequence is, the answer will always be now. it is never wrong to invest in bitcoin now.
3456  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin Volatility Be Controlled? on: July 25, 2017, 04:51:13 AM
you cannot control bitcoin market and you cannot control everyone else mind. will they pump or will they dump? that is why you cannot control bitcoin volatility. it is very different in fiat where government will just release federal reserves if fiat is getting too weak.
3457  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you Panic? on: July 25, 2017, 12:12:09 AM
any seasoned trader are already accustomed to that scenario. if you are new to trading, you might experiencence panicking when your trades are going the other way around. but you should be calm. follow your trading strategy and stick to your plan. if you have a sensible trading plan, it will come around eventually and you will profit soon. but if you are trading blindly, then that is mostly when you panic and do stupid things like panic selling.
3458  Economy / Economics / Re: Signature campaign as my job? on: July 24, 2017, 01:47:51 PM
Signature campaign can be unreliable sometimes. It can suddenly stop and you can't find replacement immediately. It is good as an extra income but not as a real job. Since you are young, focus on your studies and excel in it. You can earn more in the future than just focusing on signature.
3459  Economy / Economics / Re: How can we stop Bitcoin from crashing? on: July 22, 2017, 01:06:38 PM
for the next week you cannot stop bitcoin from crashing.
Economics is just like diabetes. Economy dont like problems. And 1 Agust there is a big problem.

Can you imagine that credit cards will not work for 1 day?
This is exactly same. you will not able to send or receive bitcoins during segwit integration.

So basically you cannot stop crashing on 1 Agust .

nope, it will not happen anymore. i think segwit will be activated soon and that will prevent bip148 from happening.

to op, above is an example of fud that can make bitcoin market bear and what i did is an example to prevent it.

Hello I am a newbie and I am not really good at trading, really. May I know what is the bear market? And there is another market called and I think it is the bull market? What are those can you explain it to me? I am having trouble about it.

kindly avoid hijacking thread of others. you can open a thread for your own question or better yet, a simple google will give you a more educational answer to your question than anyone here can give.
3460  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The "I cannot afford 1 BTC"-Problem on: July 21, 2017, 05:09:50 PM
Gold have a high price too but that is not stopping people who want gold buying them. I think the problem lies more on the fact that bitcoin is a new concept to them and they are afraid to invest a large amount of money. It is easy to explain that you do not have to buy in bulk or 1 btc and you can buy in retail. But if they insist that they cannot afford 1BTC, then it is an alibi to avoid buying bitcoin at all.

As others are saying, there is already a established units for what op wanted.
