Yeah I just spent 5 minutes reading it all and then reached Danny H.'s request for you to lock this.

Please do lock it.
34422  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Fungibility: what can we do about this? on: November 07, 2015, 12:07:51 AM
Fungibility (or lack of it, not sure about how to use the term tbh) what can be done? I don't like the idea of using some Bitcoins that were once used by some criminals or something. With cash this is not a problem because we don't have a public ledger for cash, all cash is the same, but with Bitcoin, all transactions are recorded for everyone to see. I know confidential transactions are coming which is cool, because its no one's business to know how much money you are moving but you and the other party, but ultimately this does not solve the fungibility problem. So how do you keep the ledger public, while making it impossible to know if your Bitcoins are "good bitcoins" or "bad bitcoins" so to speak, so all Bitcoins are the same? There is already a market for "freshly mined bitcoins with 0 transactions": see this

https://blog.blocktrail.com/2015/07/announcing-blocktrail-mint-fresh-bitcoin-delivered-from-the-mines/

I think everyone deserves the same level of anonymity and fungibility, no matter if you are expert, noob, wealthy or poor. It shouldn't be something "extra". I hope this makes any sense.

See what I bolded>  That may be what you want to be true and what you believe, but depending on where you live it is not true.

In the USA  the federal government charges income tax on btc profits so ultimately  it has the right to look if you are subject to USA federal income tax.

Now if you are not subject to  USA federal income tax laws and many people in the world are not I feel your pain. But anyone sending to you from the usa needs to make proper disclosure.

34427  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How affects the miners in the price of the bitcoin this month? on: November 06, 2015, 10:01:41 PM
I just want to know how affects miners from increasing of bitcoin price?
If bitcoin price still rising up the difficulty will increase too?
how affects it to your daily income?

Difficulty will follow price increase.  I.E. it lags behind.

So right now diff is up around 5%  and price is up around 30%

Since last adjustment..

For miners this means more profit.  Maybe buy an s-7 to increase your hashpower.
34428  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [100 TH] mmpool.org - 1.5% fee DGM/PPS - tx fees/vardiff/merge mine/tor on: November 06, 2015, 09:32:32 PM
since btc is trending up in trade value vs. old style money lots of people are getting out miners they turned off and turning them back on ,

maybe a few of you will consider pointing some hash to mm pool and try to hit a block ?

you can mine several coins at the same time !!!

i know some people think that if we all point hash at the same time we have a better chance of hitting a block, actually this is not accurate any more than say if you play a lottery type game once a day for many days or buy multiple tickets all on the same day

if the chances of getting a winning ticket are very small compared to the number of other tickets could exist from a math angle the results will average out to the same.

i will admit there is a kind of psychological feeling that makes it  seem like we have a better chance of hitting a block when we are all mining at once instead of if we take turns or randomly point and equal amount of hash power at the pool ....

Well  if we run 10th 10 days in a row or 100th for one day that is equal.

But If you were mining here when btc was 230 and 250 a coin and are say at 1btc 1.33

like the number 6 place miner below

6   953e50f0   1.33805227   0.13309900   4,436,628,255   0

If pays for him to toss .1 btc at 100th right now  Since most of his mining was done at the 230 dollar price and now the coins are worth 390.

So anyone with decent levels at this moment should boost a bit. Hoping to hit while coins are up in price. well above the 230 to 250 levels most of this round was at.

This is why I pushed hard hoping to hit at high dollar levels
34429  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Diff thread oct 29th to Nov 12th picks are closed!! With a bonus reward. on: November 06, 2015, 09:16:25 PM
Bitwisdom seems to be going down:

Bitcoin Difficulty:    62,253,982,450
Estimated Next Difficulty:    65,381,008,169 (+5.02%)
Adjust time:    After 710 Blocks, About 4.7 days
Hashrate(?):    457,239,254 GH/s

Price around 394 so still pretty good.

if we close at +5%  say 65.3 billion and coins are at 394  it would be a  huge adjustment  score for a miner.

we came in on the 29th at 62.2 bill

we came in on coinbase at 310 usd

So it would  be:

+5%   for diff
+27% for price

34430  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: November 06, 2015, 07:31:02 PM
Can you give a estimate for the actual price?

kilo17 needs to tell me what his cost shipped to his location.

So base on current  1500 price maybe   1625.  For USA customers.

As there won't be a mark up on my end.   I will add shipping and a few bucks for packing and handling.

I am in NJ zipcode is 07731

Kilo17 is in Tennessee.

the seller is west coast san francisco.

They are sending 25 to him next week.
He will send me 5.

So to avoid moq and preorder  there is extra shipping.

Still better this way.

34431  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: November 06, 2015, 07:20:16 PM
I am keen for one unit but would require shipping to Australia

not sure how easy this would be to do.

let me check shipping.

if kilo17 got them to his place at 1550 usd  each counting shipping.

I would need to figure what it cost to ship to you.  I then need to see about declaring its value.

I will shoot you a pm some time this weekend.
34432  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S7 setup on: November 06, 2015, 04:49:32 AM
no no no no no  no.  you could arc and kill the controller

never hot plug a pcie cable.

Just

plug in all 10 jacks leave them alone.

turn the psu on.

the gear will stage the 3 boards and the controller correctly

don't plug and unplug the pcie jack that much it keeps them newer

if you totals look bad do a software reboot.

34433  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Oct 11 to Nov 11 Sidehack stick pool club. on: November 06, 2015, 04:41:09 AM
Just curious how much hash and for how long did it take to find that block on this pool.  I know it's all luck but you did rent that 100th for a short time and no dice.  Just like to get a bearing on what is possible.
Thank you for putting all the effort into this club.  I've been away focusing on the Btc increase and testing my skills buying and selling small amounts to see if it can add up over time.  These huge buy and sell orders are fun to watch at https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/bitfinex/btcusd

the 3 way spilt block found on ck's pool was 17th for 1 day then 7th on the second day  it took about 36 hours to find it.

that was really fast .  we have mined quite a bit more then that on this pool since the 11th of oct.

we have done close to 4 billion shares which is a goodly amount

mmpool.org

made long blocks and short blocks

Blocks

Id   Block
1270   371724       179,900,157,98     valid-------------------our 4,000,000,00  way short
1269   358247      3,019,490,086   valid-------------------      we did enough to win this
1268   358176      4,027,013,131   valid -------------------     we would have won this one  winner
1267   357988      9,459,153,869   valid
1266   357453          88,337,319,359   valid
1265   350501       159,311,680,783   valid
1264   342828        50,672,302,383   valid
1263   341170      6,634,098,313   valid

so a small sample shows in the last 8 blocks made in the pool above we did enough shares to win 2 of the last 8.

Our club/pool/team  will do 5 maybe 6 billion shares in 30 days this is about 7.0% shot to win a block and about a 0.5% chance to win two blocks

for a 1 stick guy or a 2 stick guy even a 3 or 4 stick guy (usa price)  if you hit you roi your sticks.
34434  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Diff thread oct 29th to Nov 12th picks are closed!! With a bonus reward. on: November 06, 2015, 04:13:59 AM

http://btc.blockr.io/charts

10-29-2015    153 blocks + 9
10-30-2015    167 blocks + 23     so +32 blocks
10-31-2015     149 blocks +5         +37
11-01-2015     150 blocks +6         +43
11-02-2015     158 blocks +14       +57
11-03-2015     153 blocks  +9        +66
11-04-2015     157 blocks  +13      +79
11-05-2015     146 blocks  + 2       +81

we have made 1235 blocks we should have 1154  we are at +7.01%

https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty

Bitcoin Difficulty:   62,253,982,450
Estimated Next Difficulty:   66,435,075,608 (+6.72%)
Adjust time:   After 781 Blocks, About 5.1 days
Hashrate(?):   472,636,011 GH/s
Block Generation Time(?):
1 block: 9.3 minutes
3 blocks: 28.1 minutes
6 blocks: 56.1 minutes

7.01% vs 6.72%

pretty close

price at coinbase just past 500  now it is 357

with 5 days to go it remains to be seen which way we move price wise. will we just drop right back down to under 300.

Well I sold off enough coins to not have to worry about a price drop. I sold about 15 coins for about 6k or a 400 usd average .

paid off the s-7's . I will just take it in a day at a time for now.
34435  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [100 TH] mmpool.org - 1.5% fee DGM/PPS - tx fees/vardiff/merge mine/tor on: November 06, 2015, 02:30:37 AM
I'm seeing "connect null" message on nmc withdrawals, in different mmpool accounts.  Does anyone know what this is?

I see there is some nice hash put up today.
Interesting how this pool scores blocks in runs. 6 in January, 4 in may.  Feels like it's overdue for another run.

I get those nulls on and off.  If nmc goes high like 1 nmc it seems to work.

I am pushing hash right now(160th)  and someone else was pushing over 300th early today.

I have an hour to go.  so others could pop in and we could bust this mofo wide open.

Why are these so expensive?

There is only one competitor on the market currently. I think the prices are right in line to be honest... it would always be nice to get them cheaper but I don't think there are any market forces that would push the mfg to get the price down at this point.

So, less hashrate, less efficiency, need to provide your own controller, AND more expensive than the other competitor?  Who's lining up to buy these?

I wouldn't count the cost of the Pi in there. It can be resold and should be suitable for all current and future Avalon miners you stock. Like a PSU, its not consumed or proprietary, unlike an SP20 or S7 control board.

thats a good point dogie thanks for bringing it up.

oh a few have asked about that 1500 watt psu.

this one goes from 10 to 13.5 volts 87% efficient

https://www.trcelectronics.com/ecomm/pdf/rsp1500.pdf

I have been using it here and there.  A guy on ebay was selling them at a good price

http://www.ebay.com/itm/MeanWell-Power-Supply-Rsp-1500-12-/191732204742?
I got one on ebay for a good price.

So a PSU that can be adjusted is required to undervolt/underclock the avalon6?

underclock is software  any psu allows underclock.

but and we are not sure since testing has not been done   under volting may be via a psu option not via software.

if undervolting works and you under volt via psu there are a few .  we are working on unknown  as of now.

Hopefully in 10 - 12 days when I get one I can answer it.

If I work with kilo17 and help sell to the forum members on this site they will be in hand and not preorders.  He is getting a big batch and I would help him distribute them.

This would be no MOQ as he will order big enough batches to satisfy MOQ.

Markup will be very low. More to cover shipping and handling then to buy a few hundred at 1500 and sell them at 2200.

Did BlockC raise the price? - http://www.blockc.co/collections/blockc-co-shop/products/avalon-6-3-65-th-s-bitcoin-mining-server .  I could have sworn they had less then that a week or two ago.

So on resell is that 2200 number you mention look like what they are planned on being sold for through Kilo?

no to the resale at 2200

I said he is not buying a few hundred of them at 1500 looking to do a markup to 2200.

He told me the markup would be for shipping and handling .  So  he won't be looking for 2200 to a USA based buyer.

Now two weeks ago these opened at 1300 moq of 10. I would think  that coins going ups so high has cause MOQ to stay at 10 but price to go to 1500.

The new s-7 is 4 btc   that is 1530  it won't ship for about 1 month.

The ones kilo17  has purchased should arrive at his place in 10 days.

So if I get one and test it in 12 -14 days and it is good  the rest that he want to sell would ship in under 18 days so maybe a 2 week head start on the s-7 batch 6.

We all know asic shipping is slow.     Kilo17 has told me he did a purchase it is paid for so no funds are needed at this moment.

I think kilo17 wants to sell off 4-6 of his shipment.

we all know the game   so if they come on time he sends 2 to me I send 1 to valkir.  we hope they work as promised. I test and demo as does valkir.
we move a few more out for a total of 4 to 6.

If it all works well first time  kilo17 wants to do a new buy and we do it a second time  say 20 to him 6 to 10 for others.

First 2 are here:

1)philipma1957
2)valkir

put in a name  no obligation or coins for now.

3)
4)
5)
6)
more numbers if needed.

It's back over $400 again and rising.  I really think (hope) that 400 is the new floor.  We should see some significant network growth if that is the case, but not just attributed to price - cooler north hemisphere temps are certainly contributing to the increase in network hash.

We just need a steady slow rise now.  To go from 230 to 400 as floor is pretty nice.   I think the slow rise will help build some walls.

When we hit 500 so many auto-sales, and people  selling just was not enough buy walls to support it.  It's still a great increase overall though.

400 as a new floor works for me big time.

sep 4 price to current price

231 to 400 = 1.73 ratio

sep 4 diff to current diff

56.9 bill to 62.2 bill = 1.09 ratio

sept 4 diff to next diff

56.9 bill to 66.5 bill = 1.16 ratio

Have to see if all asic builders try to sell tons of gear.  then price war.  last year sp20 vs s-5  in the price war dragged btc under 200
