3461  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Poloniex To Delist 17 Altcoins In May Without Explanation on: April 20, 2017, 03:52:05 PM
Noting to be shocked about here, it's definitely a good thing that they're removing these inactive coins.
What's the point of having hunderds of inactive altcoins if they don't even have decent amount of trading volume...

I wish that that waited a bit longer in general to add new altcoins tbh.
3462  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin and Africa on: April 20, 2017, 03:47:52 PM
It can certainly thrive in places where there's infrastructure and internet, mostly big cities. But it will be a while before rural Africa can benefit from Bitcoin.
The rather large fees could also deter people from using Bitcoin, though that issue seems to be over for now.
3463  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How bring referrals ? on: April 20, 2017, 03:45:11 PM
You can pay for advertising your referral link at a number or places. It might be a good idea to try and spend some money on targetted advertising through Adwords or Facebook advertsing.
It's also important to design an ad that will attract the right people, set up different campaigns with multiple ads (different texts) and see which ones perform better.
3464  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to support Litecoin segwit? on: April 19, 2017, 05:34:50 PM
More people purchasing Litecoin will support the SegWit situation. With more people trying to use Litecoin the price of it will increase while more promotion for SegWit will be built.
I guess that's one way to support it, but I'm not too sure if that really has a big effect on the Segwit support.
Better to rent some mining power and support segwit by mining.
3465  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Where could I exchange a small amount of BTC (>£10) for PayPal GBP? on: April 18, 2017, 04:42:14 PM
You could try on this forum if you find a trusted member with positive trust.
If you're the one receiving Paypal, it shouldn't be any problem.

Check out:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=53.0

Or you could try on Localbitcoins.

Edit: if you're the one sending PP, it could be a problem since the payments are reversible.
3466  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Looking for Crypto Currency Trusted Exchanges! on: April 18, 2017, 04:38:54 PM
Here's a list with all well known crypto currency exchanges with some additional information.
You'd probably want to check for scam accusations and trustworthy reviews for every exchange, since this website doesn't mention that.

3467  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Roger Ver causes another dump on: April 14, 2017, 10:33:16 PM
Aside from whether it's actually causing a dump or not, I think it's just highly unprofessional to post such a message to the visitors of bitcoin.com
You want to get your point across? Fine, but don't do it in a way like this, it just looks really bad for yourself.
3468  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Impulse gambling on: April 14, 2017, 07:50:52 PM
The only impulse gambling I do is maybe buying a scratcher when I'm in a newspaper shop.
I try to plan online gambling, doesn't get out of hand that way Wink

Besides, playing if you're feeling bad isn't a great idea to begin with.
3469  Economy / Economics / Re: Shadow Brokers Leak Shows NSA Hacked Middle East Banking System on: April 14, 2017, 06:25:09 PM
Are they just releasing it for free now? I thought they were selling this info to the highest bidder?
I've been out of the loop for a while, would be interesting to know more about this. Where can I find their announcements?

Wikileaks is releasing the Vault7 info a little at a time.

Not sure if they're releasing the hacker tools and exploits that go with the data.

Last I heard they were releasing text data only, no code or binaries.

You can find download info on their site:

https://wikileaks.org/

You might also need a password to open some of the files, the pw is: “SplinterItIntoAThousandPiecesAndScatterItIntoTheWinds.”

(Without quotation marks, I think)
Are you sure that the vault7 releases are the same as those dumps from the shadowbrokers?
I really think they're 2 seperate things, nothing seems to indicate that they're linked when you look it up.

3470  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could Donald Trump Tank Bitcoin with a simple tweet? on: April 14, 2017, 06:02:32 PM
I would be curious to see just how much effect it would have on the price, given that I doubt the US even tops the list of amount of investments.
Aside from that, I see no reason why he would do that, though he is a bit unpredictable to say the least..
3471  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How did you started to gamble? What was your beginning like? on: April 14, 2017, 05:50:26 PM
unfortunately in my 2 years of gambling in casino I never won a cent and always go home with nothing to bring. Sad

how the hell do you gamble for 2 years and never come with something home?

you obviously didn't follow your moms advice then  Cheesy

you only followed it one way through, you cut losses when you lose, but if you want to win you need to cut wins too
the more you play after you're in plus it means you're getting closer to losing

you need to know when to stop even when you're winning

I've never brought home much too. More losses than winnings most of the time, the best I brought home was a measly 10% of my original deposit. That's all I can get from it. Guess my luck seems worse than others most of the time. Wish I can get a chance to even double my money whenever I play.

Damn, that's tough luck

I won around 150$ on a free 5$ registration bet in a casino nearby recently   Cheesy
*fruits*

What were you playing?

In an actual physical casino you mean? If so, I didn't know that those gave out free registration bets...
Probably with no rollover requirements as well I would guess.

Anyway, 150 dollars won from only 5 dollars is damn good!

3473  Economy / Economics / Re: New here: Tut for people interested in earning bitcoins (legit) on: April 14, 2017, 05:40:24 PM
Do you perhaps have some sort of skill that you could offer in the services section of the forum?
Be creative, I'm sure that you can think of something that you're good at. Maybe writing or something like that?

Or if you have a little bit of funds, you might be able to sell some local products for Bitcoin?
3474  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin benefit of saving for a long time? on: April 14, 2017, 04:15:50 PM
As long as there has been no official country use bitcoin then I dare to keep a long time, this is because the price could drop by up to 30% in 3 days only and it is often the case, I'll sell when I think already get the profit.
What does that have to do with anything? Sure, it's a very volatile currency, but just look at the long term trend, if you hold long enough, the price will just bounce back again.
Unless something really serious happens.
3475  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: aaaand here we go again on: April 14, 2017, 04:12:13 PM
I really hope we're not talking weeks of congestion again, just as everything seemed to be running smooth for a while, this happens.
Must also be really off putting for people who are just getting into Bitcoin.

I wouldn't recommend my friends to get into it in times like this.
3476  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: what will happen for all bets , if match draw !! on: April 14, 2017, 04:08:41 PM
I do not like the draw, so I usually play tennis and basketball, the draw in the soccer is a lot of fun, but no draw option is a good option.
If you don't like draw then still you can play bets in soccer because many betting sites offering option no draw bet win and lost for two teams and if match ends in draw then they will refund your all money
Do you know which sites specifically offer that option? I've never heard of this, but it seems pretty interesting.
Seems like they would lose out on a lot of profit that way though...
3477  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin also lead to corruption ? on: April 14, 2017, 04:05:55 PM
Bitcoin when converted to fiat can be used in corruption. Did you read the news regarding an Indian corrupt police who withdraw the bitcoin they got from the drug dealers they arrested?

https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/rogue-indian-drug-agent-caught-stealing-bitcoins/

He worked with the drug dealers he arrested so that they can got the bitcoins for them. So this leads me to believe that bitcoin can be used and lead to corruption in our society.
That what happened, with drug agent withdrawing the bitcoins that were owned by drug dealers is only an incident.
In my opinion, it should not lead to conclusion that bitcoin can corrupt everyone in the society.

I think that most of the precious thing may lead to bad things, because humans have desires, which they want to make true.
That is why all is up to particular person righteousness and character- if the unit is doing bad things for money, or would not hesitate to- bitcoin may easily lead to corruption.
But if someone is a regular hardworking citizen of some country, why would bitcoins make him corrupted? It is just a different form of money, instead of USD or any fiat, it is a cryptocurrency.
There have been other incidents though... If you look at the FBI investigation of the first Silk Road, you'll find that there was also a rogue agent there who enriched himself.
I'm not saying that it happens more often with Bitcoin, but it's definitely happening more often than you'd think!
3478  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: April 14, 2017, 03:09:13 PM
I'm betting pretty big on Anderlecht to win the next one, really think that they could pull it off with Dendoncker in the next match.
Very very risky, I know, but we'll see on the 20th of April.
3479  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Giving up gambling is not easy on: April 14, 2017, 02:48:11 PM
Your advised was really good one, which I think it could be one of the big factor for the addict gambler to apply your suggestion, maybe in addition to that manner I think asking for a guidance to his immediate closed one to monitor what he is doing it could also be a big help like parents, friend or love ones.

You dont need that kind of complicated things. When people are determined enough then there is nothing that you couldnt do. When you are a child, you learn to walk . You couldnt walk and it is something new , now you could which means that with some determination we can actually do anything that we want to do

In my own experienced also i would like to share some piece of advice to you, It just need your self discipline and control yourself so you could lessen playing gamble.

Some people do need all the help that they can get when it's time to quit. It really helps the person feel like they aren't alone in the situation, I've been there too.

Well for almost hopeless situations yes. I think people sometimes feel that the world may be ganging up on them if they are having a hard time to quit and it's important to make them feel that there are people who support them. Sometimes these people are the ones who need professional help but realistically it won't be enough as it's important to have the support of people around them
In the end, it's still the addict that has to do all the work, whether he has support or not.
I know plenty of people who are addicted to something, have all the support in the world and still can't get rid of their addiction.

The most important thing is recognising that you have a problem and WANTING to work on that. Either by yourself or by getting help from a therapist or rehab.
3480  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Biggest bitcoin sites that close on: April 14, 2017, 02:40:26 PM
Dell stopped accepting Bitcoin a while back, at least according to this Reddit thread I saw a while back:
https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum/comments/61r0u0/dell_stopped_accepting_bitcoin_an_opportunity_for/

But they still have it mentioned on their website, so I don't know if that's accurate:
