Okay this is refund address: 1CwV6JERyAZpsMAhVqDSpoqYt3eAqs7xFc
I don't feel like blaming you or blocking you , what i felt bad was that you called me scammer , and this i don't like , because i am as legit as you are.

I recon I should stop rebroadcasting this TX now, right? It very likely will be forgotten by the network without it.

What wallet service/software are you using?

Edit: Just to clarify the fee you set is reckless, if you did not set it yourself, the wallet you use is badly designed. You may have acted in good faith, but you should not be surprised that someone thinks this is shady.
3462  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin blockchain data torrent on: January 14, 2016, 02:29:13 PM
-story-
Now my points:

 - there are computers with slower CPU. Keep this in mind. My case was extreme, but it's just proof, that CPU is also very important during downloading the blockchain, and people having problems with slow downloads perhaps have probelem with CPU, not network.

Yes, the overal speed depends on more than just bandwith.

- precomputation is just reasonable. Why everyone should compute the same blocks every time they start a new node?

You either used the "bootstrap.dat" in which case you did not safe any computation time, but rather wasted it by seperating download and verification. From the times you states and "precomputation" however I assume you downloaded a preverified blockchain. This is naturally faster, because you dont do all the work. Thus the comparisson is invalid and you need to trust the other party to not have messed with the blockchain.

You should verifiy the blocks to avoid this exact problem, trusting someone else. The same way you verify the binaries you download or the signed message you receive.

- if you prepare "certified" blockchain (can be GPG signed, etc.), you will show the people that you CARE about them, and about their time, and freedom of choice of downloading method. This is important for people that are hesitating about running a bitcoin daemon.

Thanks for reading.

Which will require you to trust that person and their ability to secure their PGP key. People are not hesitating to run a full node because of the initial time it takes, but because of the constant time it needs to download and verify data. If it would just be 1-3 days (relativly modern desktop/laptop computer) it would not be an issue.

A quick question guys, is it possible to use a new Yobit account and replace the old one?

Its probably something you should ask yobit.

WARUM MENSCHEN VORURTEILE HABEN

Auszug:

Quote
...

Finally it came to my coinbase account 8 minutes back.
http://prntscr.com/9prdo9
Do you guys think it can still be dropped by the n/w or I can pay him now?

Still says 0 confirmations.
Yeah, still says 0 confirmation but it appeared in my account. Until 12 minutes back it was not even appearing in my wallet.

That just means a full node run by coinbase knows about the transaction. It does not improve the chances to get confirmed. Well, unless coinbase automatically rebroadcasts receiving transactions, but I dont think they do.

Nothing in my wallet yet. It still has 0 confirmations and there are 99.99% chances that network will drop this txn and he'll get it back.
Now I understood, he was are trying to do. He was trying to scam users by sending them BTC w/o appropriate fee and hoping that its gets dropped by the n/w and he get money as well as your BTC back.

Shall I move this thread under Scam Accusations?

If you think this was done intentionally you can open a thread in scam accusation with the usual format there. I would keep this as it is or use it to follow up on the technical details.

You can also instead of just keep pushing the TX, spend the coins you received and pay a fee high enough for both TX (known as child pays for parent - CPFP) or contact a pool operator directly and ask if they would include the TX (or the TX and the CPFP TX). Im not sure if coinbase allows spending unconfirmed coins though, so that might not be an option.

How is gone at the end? Till paypal transfer will be reversible?

Just let the thread die. The OP obviously bought the account or it was compromised during the last db breach.

Thanks for your reply.

Based on the process discussed in previous discussions, would it be:

Import Private Key to Bitcoin Qt --> Export to PyWallet --> Delete Transactions --> Re-import to new wallet on Blockchain.info?

No, blockchain.info is a service, what you do locally will not change their perception of the blockchain.

You can however:

#1 export from bc.i
#2 import to core
#3 create competing TX
#4 ? ? ?

Since the topic comes up. The receiver can defened against a double spend by rebroadcasting the original transaction, lets call it A and your double spend B. Any network node that knows about A will not accept and not relay B. The receiver can also attempt to create a follow up transaction C with a higher fee in the hopes that a CPFP miner will pick them (A & C) up.

So I found this exchange here:

https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/mtgox/btcusd

As you can see current price is $135, very cheap in comparison with the current market price of $430.

So all I need to do is buy there at $135 and sell on other exchanges around $430.

But I'm not finding this exchange, anyone can help?

Please let me know where I can register.

It is already a new signature campaign but seems that the funds are not held in escrow, should it be included here or we should wait for escrow confirmation as it is not safe to join without escrow.
Link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1326811.0

The problem may be that this exchange itself runs escrow services  Grin

3478  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 2 hours with no confirmation on: January 13, 2016, 08:25:25 PM
Thanks for you reply. I usually chose the "normal" fee option in the app witch varies(0.00007 to 0.00001 BTC). For this transaction I paid 0.000032BTC.

its low for now,as i said that fair miner fee amount is 0,1 mbtc
it can take up to 4 days.you got to wait, but dont forget to check your wallet sometimes.

How can you say its low if you dont know what the size of the transaction is?

Hello,

It`s been 2 hours since I sent 0.2BTC to another wallet and there are no confirmations(the bitcoins have arrived at the destination). I usually send bitcoins using my mycelium app using normal transaction fee and it takes top 10 minutes to reach 2-3 confirmation.

Is this normal? Is there a risk of not reaching any confirmation?

Thank you!

Welcome,

be careful with advice you get here, because some users post to get paid for the signature and not to help others. There are also users that actually want to help, but dont know enough to do so. They may or may not have a paid signature. In general you should take everything you read here with a grain of salt.

Anyway, to the topic.

Its actually not normal that you usually have 2-3 confirmation within 10 minutes. On average(!) every 10 minutes a block is found. Thus you should get 1 confirmation every 10 minutes on average. There are also many transactions waiting for a confirmation. Currently ~28k

The miners that include the transaction into blocks and get you your first confirmation prioritize by fee per byte, because the size of a block is limited and they want to get as much bitcoin as possible. Thus it is possible that you have wait for a few blocks until a miner picks up your transaction. From my personal experience with mycelium the "normal" fee option is usually fine, but you might not get included in the next block. So I would suggest you wait a little longer. The "priority" fee can help with this if the transaction is urgent.
3479  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what is bitcoin or other altcoin? on: January 13, 2016, 08:17:24 PM
What happens when my gpu or cpu hashes?!

It uses a hash function to calculate a hash from given data. A hash function is a special algorithm that can not be reversed directly. The simplest example would be the function x2. You can set x = 2 and get the result 4, but you would get the same result for x = -2. Thus you can not reverse the result of such a function and know the original value. In the case of x2 there are 2 possible values. Most hash functions are more complex of course.

What is mining?

Mining (in proof of work) is hashing slightly different versions of given data until you find a hash with a certain property.

How do anyone make coin with a gpu?

A GPU can be used to calculate a hash, it can not make a coin. This is usually done by people writing code.

Is it something illegal?!

I dont think so, but Im no lawyer and I dont know all laws for all countries.

I do not understand a word about mining?! If my gpu solves any puzzle why will it make some money?? What is all about?!lease answer me

Its actually more of a lottery than a puzzle. The rules of bitcoins code say that anyone that finds a hash with a certain property gets a reward. This is not true for any puzzle. E.g. you can use a GPU to solve the question "what is the password for shorena's wallet file" and might get the answer "abc123def", but sadly the wallet file is empty so no reward for you.
3480  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Why is this txn not showing up in my a/c? on: January 13, 2016, 07:48:25 PM
I received BTC from ~PayPal-Trader~ on the forum and he sent me this txn link but I don't see any notification of BTC received in my coinbase wallet.
Can someone pls tell whats wrong here? Shall I pay him or wait for at least 1 confirmation? Can it be reversed?

https://blockchain.info/address/1Atv5LPgx5auEWnovRua7BwbqoZ6ZFdutE

you should wait for at least one confirmation and please double check the receiving address (i dont kow him.. maybe he is a trusted trader here)

edit: missing word
Wallet address seems fine but he sent it w/o fee or with low fee & its still not showing up in my a/c.
Just wondering can this be reversed?

Its unconfirmed, so yes it can be dropped by the network and not confirm. I wouldnt do your part unless its confirmed. That is, if you still can.
Its still unconfirmed even though its more than an hour since he sent this to me.
Can this be some kind of scam?

I dont know, the fee is very low. If you want to make sure the transaction is not forgotten by the network, open the transaction itself (not the address) on blockchain.info and append ?format=hex to the URL.

Like this (should be the one you care about, there are two for the above address though): https://blockchain.info/tx/751da63e633df680db6a29633475d11198bd096d0a75938d74f9b2cccea1da77?format=hex

If you open the URL now you will see the raw transaction.

In this example its

Code:
010000000133583ada5091dd0814ecab26beefde14aba1b9294fb8a9e28325b7a8d8d76106010000006a473044022100f596924707db95cc6e7eb7a6b976974ad0760d1f7f47c3db42a0b0a3306a5142021f039d84c7f7a93320eff9320bc3c93f11999083a022a25731da6b32249ac4c6012102cd0f397b3ad1887a1309f5b0fe914385a23804d484e21e51d9e850f7b23de716ffffffff02b075b100000000001976a9146c8aa6918f38ec13433fb57acc57bb7a44384b1288ac9635a901000000001976a91482f74b865c1646ad742fba51c7e8911a148195f488ac00000000

you can use the raw version to rebroadcast this via different platforms.

Here is a list -> https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Transaction_broadcasting

If you use bitcoin core you can also do it yourself with:

Code:
sendrawtransaction 010000000133583ada5091dd0814ecab26beefde14aba1b9294fb8a9e28325b7a8d8d76106010000006a473044022100f596924707db95cc6e7eb7a6b976974ad0760d1f7f47c3db42a0b0a3306a5142021f039d84c7f7a93320eff9320bc3c93f11999083a022a25731da6b32249ac4c6012102cd0f397b3ad1887a1309f5b0fe914385a23804d484e21e51d9e850f7b23de716ffffffff02b075b100000000001976a9146c8aa6918f38ec13433fb57acc57bb7a44384b1288ac9635a901000000001976a91482f74b865c1646ad742fba51c7e8911a148195f488ac00000000

from the build in console. It will - due to the low fee - probably return an error though.

Rebroadcasting a TX will make sure its not forgotten which makes it very difficult to double spend. It can still take a long time to get confirmed (think days or weeks with a fee that low).
