Have to agree, the bitcoin community will welcome them back when Bitcoin is much more widely spread and China is much further behind the game. See ya then, guys! Yep, and when the majority of Chinese finally jump back on board, we'll see that spike happen all over again. Only next time it won't be temporary.

If you think Bitcoin's fiat-exchange price matters now, you don't get the technology.
More and more businesses accept it every day (at least in the relatively-liberal western world).
Crypto is the future, and Bitcoin is the most credible crypto on the market. The future looks good.
Price follows utility.

Why do people dream of retiring and being "set for life" anyway. Its a pretty boring way to live. I'm gonna take a wild guess and say you've never experienced the wage-slavery that is a shitty minimum wage (or near-minimum) job in Amerikkka. Or if you have, you've long since forgotten how soul-destroying it was.

I am starting to believe that cash and banks are 1000 times more safer than bitcoin. I am starting to believe that you're a moron, or at best totally inept/ignorant of crypto-security best practices.

Judging by past US government history, probably that money will be used to overthrow democratically-elected leaders in nations that don't cooperate with US agenda, so they can install guys like Saddam Hussein.
Yeah, I said it. Whatcha gon' do, gubment goon?

Government isn't going anywhere. Regulation can only go so far with something as decentralized as Bitcoin, but it will be there. Taxation isn't going anywhere.
The libertarians and/or anarchists who believe that Bitcoin is somehow the "perfect weapon" to "stick it to the man" will all be sadly disappointed because it isn't their coin and it isn't their technology anymore.
They will be marginalized to the fringes where they belong (and want to be). In fact, that marginalization has already begun. Individuals like Andreas Antonopoulos and his ilk will be hushed down to a murmur because mature people willing to fit within the framework of society will adapt Bitcoin into an acceptable fit for what it is most capable of doing: reforming the current banking system / payment processing platforms. Clueless government sheep detected.

100% smoke and mirrors, snake oil, magic beans. Wait, when did we start talking about fiat currency? Did I miss something?

Now how big is the market online, untapped, between 1 cent to 99 cents? How about less than 1 cent? How big is it? I would guess it's in the billions per year, easily. Especially if we're talking about a global, rather than national, scale.

I am going to tabulate all of my hardware costs, electrical usage each month, my internet bill, my rent.. just about everything associated with mining. I am certain that i am obligated for 0 tax burden. Don't forget about computer maintenance costs (hint: make it expensive)!

Well done, and thank you very much for your contributions to the Bitcoin community.

BTC will probably not go below $400. Indeed. I was thinking we were going to see 300-350 before this crash was over, but now I'm not so sure... sucks because I was holding out for 350 to buy more, and I think I've missed my opportunity. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FNt7vzFd.png&t=663&c=MwI78lWsAirC1A)

mtgox.com value should be very less. No one want to join hands with them.
Or way WAY more, depending on whether or not you're Mark Kerpales. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

I would argue that bitcointalk.org and blockchain.info are both priceless.
Especially if you're valuating them in worthless fiat clown-currency.
Nation-state scrip is local, temporary, and largely pretend.

This will attract a lot of unwanted attention towards Coinbase from the authorities. They should have kept quiet. Gotta love the logic of a coward. "Those who would sacrifice essential liberty for temporary security deserve neither, and will lose both" -Some dead dude

My take is that Communist countries are not good markets for Bitcoin. Pretty much this. Places where governments tell people what to do and how to do it.. not a good environment for a currency specifically designed to liberate and empower individuals. Vivia la revolution? Oh ya nvm they took the items out of the hands of the public that allowed that. And Satoshi invented the items (cryptocurrencies) and put them back into our hands. All we need do is pick them up and use them. We owe this person(s) a great debt of gratitude.

Bitcoin is the democratization of money. It should come as no surprise to anyone that the enemies of democracy are hostile to Bitcoin.
