"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step". Laozi

Change can come in many forms in our lives. It might come forcefully, or creep along incrementally.
On October 31st 2008 the Bitcoin white paper A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System had been released by Satoshi Nakamoto.
If that never happened, none of us would be here.
A journey of a thousand miles began with that very single step.
Most of us are here for different reasons but I want to say the most simple words once more to Satoshi:
thank you

Take care and never show up or reveal yourself.

Oh, by the way, Happy Birthday BTC BITCOIN BTC

3463  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-11-01] It’s Bitcoin’s Birthday: Whitepaper Released 8 years Ago Today on: November 01, 2016, 10:03:03 AM
Satoshi if you read us you should know how thankful most of us are. You gave us what we've been waiting for a long a time. You gave us financial freedom and freedom of choice as well as the power to be on top of our finances. You've created something that will last long before our deaths.
Thank you, wherever you are, whoever you are.

I'm getting messages and e-mails from people who heard bitcoin from me 3 years ago: those days are behind us but those were the days in which I was sponsoring and advocating bitcoin the most.
Do you know what I do today with those communications? I DELETE THEM! I said what I needed to say to them long ago.  Wink

Happy Birthday to our lead developer Spencer Lievens and also to Bitcoin.

Oh well! Happy Birthday Spencer! Don't celebrate too much  Grin Were you born on October 31st or November 1st?
Because the Bitcoin white paper release date was on October 31st 2008 but this SilkNetwork post is from today.

In any case, my best wishes!

Ok so we have 2 games tonight, not the best to watch I must say but at least let's try to profit from them

Udinese - Torino Both teams to score
Cagliari - Palermo Cagliari

A small win but it is always good to win! Udinese - Torino was also a very nice game to watch, I had fun and after they both scored I was ok since I won my small parlay. Good, see you on November 5th when Serie A will play again.

We are 5 days away from DSLK (or whatever the name) launch. Is it confirmed?
What about the whole rebrand thing? Is going to be announced on the very same day?
3470  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 31, 2016, 07:33:45 AM
If bitcoin will go up to $800 then we could see a new all time high in my opinion. We have to cross and destroy the latest 2016 ATH to be ready for the moon take off.
A lot of new money is flowing into btc and this means only one thing, that the way is up.
Christmas gifts are just around the corner

>$830 --- 6 Noviembre

I've bookmarked your guess, let's see how this turns out because it seems we had a small retrace tonight. I still think that the new wall to destroy is set @ $790: if we cross it then we are to going to be surprised
3471  Bitcoin / Press / [2016-10-31] Bitcoin is closing in on its 2016 peak... on: October 31, 2016, 07:24:41 AM
Bitcoin is closing in on its 2016 peak. A handful of theories attempt to explain the rally

In a year of monster hackers, the rise of new cryptocurrencies, and its own unresolved “civil war” over how to enlarge its transaction capacity, bitcoin has not only survived, but thrived.

The price of bitcoin has risen by 19% this month to a high of $718, putting it within touching distance of its 2016 peak.

Why does it seem whenever there is a rally there is some bad news that happens. At least the exchange isn't to big to cause too much damage.

It is becoming a very annoying pattern, I totally agree. Something always happen during a BTC price rally. I don't believe that exchange has the power to take the BTC price down but the rally slowed down dramatically. I'm a bit pissed off, generally speaking
3473  Bitcoin / Press / [2016-10-31] New York's bitcoin hub dreams fade with licensing backlog on: October 31, 2016, 07:14:44 AM
New York's financial regulator had sights set on becoming a global hub for innovations like bitcoin when it adopted trailblazing virtual currency rules last year. But the state lost that momentum when the agency's chief left, putting a licensing process in limbo and allowing rivals to catch up.

Since June 2015, New York has required virtual currency firms doing business there to get a "BitLicense" to hold customer funds and exchange virtual coins for dollars and other regular currencies.

If Bitcoin is dead I am the Queen of United Kingdom...
I am an old bitcoin dinosaur which does not believe in any more bitcoin death announcement.
And so you should

About the old Silkcoin
That's why we moved on to the new Silk because the old one sucked
Guys you might edit your posts and add this line up front: About the old Silkcoin
Sorry to say but this thread is becoming unreadable: OLD silkcoin, NEW SILK, rebranding, ICO finished with no further announcements.
I would ask the team to clean up a bit. This is a simple request, nothing else
Agree
People are getting more confused
I think the team can delete the last posts about the old Silkcoin
we should do this through PM's

How about opening a topic for this matter in Altcoin Discussion?

Done
Created new topic
Discussion on Legacy SilkCoin wallet to help late swappers to New Silk (SLK)
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1665582.msg16723583#msg16723583

Well done, i replied you there. We should have done this long ago but they say better late than ever.
Now I would ask silk devs to delete anything that will not be in line with this topic.

Excellent guys, thanks for having followed up on my request. We should have done this long ago to avoid further confusion.
Now the last step is to redirect any questions that will arise to this thread.
For what's worth I no longer have any old silkcoins, i did my swap so i can't help around here

Did anyone see those news? I didn't see a thread here so im making it. It's pretty huge news, I think it went low on the radar because everyone is talking about 0.13.1 release and segwit, but this is also important. The fees are very low and you can go there with bitcoins in your pocket and enjoy shopping pretty much anywhere. What a nice country, too bad im too poor to be able to live there.

Yes, Switzerland is paving the way for an increasing Bitcoin adoption. We were discussing it already on the forum

It seems like Betking profits have been slowing down a bit lately. Also total bets on this casino diminished greatly: I was wondering if this is connected with the BTC price surge. It could be that people need their bitcoins now
