3461  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin ready for world wide 1 currency? on: April 05, 2022, 11:39:22 AM
in my opinion bitcoin is not yet ready to become our main currency, even though bitcoin is the highest value cost about $50000/btc bitcoin still not popular to country that not interested in digital currency and some of those doesn't believe bitcoin exist. i think bitcoin must be advertise to promote to the world and bitcoin block chain should enhance security,

It is by all means, people aren't familiar with bitcoin does not equate to bitcoin lacking the qualifications to be a global currency, what i expect you to say maybe is that it could be a serious challenge for the developing countries where technology is yet to advance and places like that with time, they will improve in development to be able to meet up the global digital standard, should in case you still exercise some doubts about bitcoin, it is a medium of exchange just as USD but in a digital form.
3462  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Implementation of a Hardened Derivative on: April 05, 2022, 07:31:47 AM
I've come to think of it, the more we remain careful about securing our wallets from attack same are the hackers developing new strategies to steal our coins.
I have been able to come across several threads and articles talking about how to improve wallet security in other to avoid loosing our coins to the hands of hackers and one of the recommended ways is to safeguard our keys from another person gaining access to it. Though i dont know much about Bitcoin Improvement Proposal (BIP), but i think one of the reasons this was implemented is to increase the users experience with a better service.

My Question:

How can i implement a "hardened derivative" to my wallet address as a control measure in other to maximize safety of my coins?.
3463  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is a game of quantity on: April 04, 2022, 10:28:27 AM
To get the best of Bitcoin investment the focus of how many of this coin you are investing should be the major concern and not the fiat value thereof.

I disagree because the reason why many choose to invest on bitcoin is as result of weighing it value compared with fiat, if bitcoin value is found to be lesser than the fiat USD then it value begin the depreciate, what is the essence of keeping bulkiness of what has lesser value when thousands of commodity items could be an alternative asset to store of value. the main reason behind investing on any form of asset is to derive profit after you would have considered it value.

For example if you own 0.1btc whose value is $4042.79 at the moment of posting and the price eventually drops the panic shouldn't be the fallen price, it's best to sell at a lower high and buy back at a lower lows in all the concern should be to get more coin, taking advantage of the dip to buy more.

i agree with this but you have to understand that to understand that, speculating on price is not the major determinant to how valuable bitcoin is because of it volatility in nature. One can only invest in bitcoin as an asset because of the conviction that bitcoin will always maintain profitability with time despite the dip and rise, and you cant loose the entire investment you made but rather make profit over time.
3464  Economy / Economics / Re: Rising inflation forces investors to look for defensive assets. on: April 04, 2022, 09:44:37 AM
Literally, some assets has been going down in value including fiat and cryptocurrency due to inflation and other issues around the world.

Except for bitcoin which still maintain it value and worth.

So it's a little difficult to recommend crypto for invertors to hedge their funds since all almost every crypto asset is going down in value too.

Altcoin are mostly unreliable except for few ones, that is why it is very important for you to clarify your stance while recommending altcoin because many may result into failed project and you will apparently appear to be a liar for recommending them with such.

Therefore investors are seeing it as digital Gold and it almost taking the role of Gold.

Bitcoin has proven at many times more higher than gold in profitability statistical data base on research,
i think i read something about the annual and monthly profitability of bitcoin on https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5388701.msg59451937#msg59451937 one of the threads published by @Ratimov on the forum. while gold remains a physical asset, bitcoin has proven on several occasions as the only decentralized digital assets more profitable than gold as of recent.
3465  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will bitcoin reach its all-time high? on: April 04, 2022, 08:58:54 AM
I don't see any indication that buttress the fact that bitcoin is going to hit another ATH before the end of this year, we could see how it has been revolving roundabout $34k and $38k before it manage to emerge around $47k, what i presumed here is that the price will maintain a range below the $68k ATM between now and next year before setting a new target, and now that new set of block is mined, going by predicting the speculation may not be accurate as demand and supply rate could simply make an alter to dip or run bull the price.
3466  Other / Archival / Re: What will happen to bitcoin on a world war? on: April 04, 2022, 08:31:48 AM
In my opinion, a world war is literally the worst thing that can happen to humanity, with or without bitcoin.

This we never pray to reoccur again as the world will be put to ransom and even the bitcoin network will be affected because this is going to be a global crisis, bitcoin has also come to solve part of the problems that might be associated with WW III, aside the US dollars, bitcoin is also the most recognized decentralized digital currency that is not tie to any country or economy barriers.

In a war, the fiat loses its value. I had a discussion with a friend about what could happen to bitcoin in a war. He said that it will surely collapse. I am not so sure about it.

No amount of war can be able to collapse bitcoin into crashing, it can only affect the speculation on it price to run bullish or bearish, by then when every currency is sinking down with drop in value because of the economic situation of their region, Bitcoin tend to maintain it own as it is decentralized, only the mining of bitcoin along some exchanges that will be affected but that will not place a significant impact to it value.

History has shown that gold is the money that "reborns" fiat.

While another history is set to replace that with "bitcoin a gold rush" to effective economy.
3467  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 30% tax on crypto income in INDIA on: April 04, 2022, 07:48:03 AM
India currently is consulting the IMF, World Bank and it Financial Regulation Institutions on how to put in place the required policy that will guide crypto in the country and also, they stated that 1% on every transaction made will be levied on the crypto industry aside the 30% tax in existence. Although i enjoy the fact that the country permit crypto activities to be going on but it has also been very strict to it tax regulation.

Quote
Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said on several occasions that the government has not decided whether to regulate or ban crypto. However, in the meantime, crypto income will be taxed at 30% and a 1% tax deducted at source (TDS) will be levied on all crypto transactions. https://news.bitcoin.com/indian-government-consulting-with-imf-world-bank-on-crypto-policy/?utm_source=thecryptoapp

3472  Economy / Economics / Re: Russia as the cornerstone of the world economy on: April 02, 2022, 12:48:58 PM
The invasion of Russia in Ukraine has highlights different repercussions be it positive or negative.

Repercussions on who? well it must be Russia you're talking about here because no any country bearing the cost than Russia, they are paying more than it cost.

Russia may be going through economic decline presently cause by the war.
There's no maybe here, this is a matter of certainty that Russia is truly going through alot and the citizens are most affected.

Political war is not a problem to Russia but ecomical war which is presently going on with most of the countries of the world

The sanction place on Russia is a symbolic sign that no country is permitted to relate, trade or engage on any economic affairs with Russia because Ukraine invassion is uncalled for which is understood by everyone.

Tinubu wey get APC. You think Tinubu need buhari permissions to contest. Who put buhari for seat abeg.

Boss me i no think say tins dey work like dat once it come for presidential race, quite alright tinubu out buhari, but for incubency now tinubu go drastically need buhari's  support because all him power na for lagos e take end o. come to talk of east, south south and north, wetin tinubu fit achieve all by himself?

For Wike to come out after Atiku, you supposed know say e no dey fear am instead e wan divide him vote probably take to give another people more chances to win or win am himself. Wike no too put mouth last time as no be him own ticket na another people own.

this one na true talk boss but wike go just distruct d votes as u said but if na for real real wike no go atiku money and e no fit defeat am if they were both to come out, one thing is common about atiku and na dat same tin dey hinder d guy to emerge for president, atiku na confirm "thief" and everybody know, dats d reason why obj no ever endorse him for the race if not he for don won.

I do not think that African nations will have as much trouble as people claim they might. I mean they are not the best ones for sure, but what did you see from Americas or Asia that made you think that Africans would be the worst?

Africans are trying too when it comes to football but you cant compare them with Americans in so many ways, their football tactics are different and the Americans or England players tend to be more professional than the Africans footballer, if we are to start by listing the whites from the black the difference is much but they both has a unique role and significance they play when it comes to football.
3475  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Bitcoin Nearly Bailed Me Out on: April 01, 2022, 04:00:40 PM
So I needed some funds to make up for a payment. I contacted three of my clients who were supposed to pay for some writing jobs but the payments were delayed. I was getting frantic when I remembered that one of my old Blockchain wallets. I started wondering if the wallet I hadn't used for years could have some valuable bitcoins. I also remembered that I had the seed words in my phone as a screenshot (crazy!) so I imported the wallet. Boy, you wouldn't believe how much I had in there. Not up to all the money I needed but enough to make a difference.

I wonder who else has access to old wallets Smiley

The riskiest aspect of it is the screenshot your had on the phone, though it helped you recover access to the wallet but you're been lucky because the mobile was still intact and it never got expose to a third part, else they would have swindle the coin left in it, for future reference, find a suitable means to secure your keys other than on screenshots.
3476  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To the Ill-informed, btc has done more harm than good on: April 01, 2022, 03:37:56 PM
People with little or no information are ignorant about everything cryptocurrency and tend to be biased or flat out wrong when sharing information in their local circles.

This has really pose a critical concern as they tend to bad mouth cryptocurrency on a wrong perspective and  this misconception is really affecting the society and governments at large.

Having little or no knowledge in this, they would be swayed to believe whatever news suits their narrative irrespective of it being right or wrong.

Having little knowledge is equally as having none at all, because knowledge is the key merchandise that helps one not to loose assets and investments and it cannot be do without.

I was among the lot that was ill-informed and got taught a hard lesson.

Lot of people has fallen into the menace simply by being mislead by wrong people, while others fall in the category of unreliable cryptopreneurs who play fair and non transparent deal in keeping information away from newbies.

3478  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Your Kids Aware Of Bitcoin? Teach Them. on: March 31, 2022, 04:20:30 PM
you can not be in the light in which bitcoin has brought you to and allow your children to suffer because you failed to teach them the secret behind your wealth.

I know it is very challenging for parents nowadays in changing their children's orientation and thoughts, one can do his best in showing them the way but it is their decision to follow the path they desire, but at least you've acted your path and play your role as parent.

Our kids represent the leaders of tomorrow, let's teach them about bitcoin now that we can.

It is very easy in convincing children but what about the adults, those that knows the difference between left and right are the most difficult being to convince, as at this present dispensation many grown up youths and governments are yet to believe the role of bitcoin in this current digital world economy, lots of work needed to be done in this regards as well.
3479  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't be too greed for more gains.... on: March 31, 2022, 12:28:27 PM
The truth remains that we all in one way or the other exhibit this greediness attitude of a thing knowingly or unknowingly to us, why is because human needs are insatiable and we all tend to use force on things that are meant to occur naturally, what makes many loose the entire profit to loss lies in doing things without caution, that's why too much of everything is said to be bad.
3480  Other / Archival / Re: To clarify the previous post regarding the campaign on: March 31, 2022, 12:14:58 PM
Firstly, did you get a negative trust or your account banned or what?

Secondly are you showing us this as a prove on your recent post for charity kind of stuff?

Lastly, if am right about the second guess then that is not enough reason convincing enough to believe what you proposed, why is because those are images anyone else can download on the internet and use as a prove, secondly it does not show any group or personal photographs of you in action or having a seminar or group discussion with your team under a charity group or organization.

Let me shock you:

No web address to prove yourself
No cognate picture in action
No evidence backing up your insinuate

What you even show on the link is not worth raising a charitable fund for as it can just be afforded by a single person.

My advice for you.

Don't implicate your self on the forum, the sole major aim of us here is about bitcoin mainly and cryptocurrency at large and not charity or fund raising kind off.
