How about idle miner notifications?

Our chips consume about 3 - 3.5w per GH/s at the chip level, ...
The devices use 6 Watt per GH/s ( according to kano). For a 50GH/s units that's 300 Watt. 150 Watt for the chips (according to Joshs numbers) and 150 Watt for "the rest" of the circuitry. So the new minirig at 500 GH/s would draw 3000 watts. That will require a 40A/110V circuit!

Looks like shipment of Singles will begin on 06/01. You could have received your units before 06/15, assuming shipping starts on 1st of the June. As of today - it's 8 days away. 2 singles hash 120Gh/s, 2x300W power draw, assuming difficulty jumps to 15.2M and your electricity rate is $.25/kWh - you could have made $8k, almost 4 BTC per day (1 BTC=$122) on the top of 100% return on investment within 1st month of operation.
So they're going to start shipping in two weeks? Just like back in Oct? And Nov? And Dec? And Jan? And Feb? And Mar? And Apr? And May? Notice a pattern yet?

I must admit, it's been amusing watching you "super sleuths" perform your mental acrobatics trying to find some bizarre attack to try to discredit me with. The outlandish conclusions you've come up with (and continue to come up with) only reinforce my opinions that the same crazy antics that are being used to try and discredit me, for no apparent reason, are the same tactics used to try and discredit Sonny.
There's no need to discredit Sonny. He's a convicted felon. He discredited himself when he got involved with illegal activities and got caught. You seem to think felonies are no big deal. Is that because you have some on your own record?
|
|
|
They apparently weren't given a particularly strong case, however, throwing out most of the charges in exchange for avoiding a trial (for which they have unlimited funding). Federal prosecutors only care about a conviction rate. If they think they don't have a particularly strong case, they'll throw out most of it in exchange for a mere conviction.
"mere conviction"? They extradicted his ass from Italy and threw him in prison for a couple years. Small time crooks don't get such serious treatment.
|
|
|
For starters, the charges you're referencing appear to have been little more than an IRS witch hunt. Maybe he voted Republican? ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) It takes a special kind of person to defend a felon convicted of scamming millions of dollars from senior citizens.

Can anyone give me a realistic formula to use when calculating the difficultly increase?
You can look at historical growth rates. Recently it has been slighter over 1% per day, and it will probably continue like that for a few months as ASICs continue coming online. Beyond a few months there's no telling what will happen. http://bitcoin.sipa.be/growth.png

from josh: BFL mini rigs will probably be split into 3 units of 500GH/s. They will start sell 500GH/s units...maybe in the next 2 weeks.
Notice how he just says they will be "selling" them. Not that they'll actually ship them in any reasonable amount of time.

Yes, the settings suggested solved my performance issues. blockmaxsize=250000 # default: 250000 blockprioritysize=27000 # default: 27000 mintxfee=0.0002 # default: 0.0001 minrelaytxfee=0.0002 # default: 0.0001

Use bitcoin-0.8.2-rc1. The dust protection will reject transactions like those you linked.
8.2rc1 helps a little, but whatever transactions are still floating around are causing significant performance issues to gtblocktemplate.

Which is why I didn't put all my eggs in one basket. I've got Avalon chips on order as well. My guess is that the Avalon chips show up before the BFL.
You can count on the Avalon chips arriving months ahead of the BFL unit. Smart move. The Avalon chips will make up for your losses from ordering a BFL.
|
|
|
You can already mine any of the sha256 cryptocoins just by pointing your Avalon to the correct daemon/pool.

I put my money where my mouth is. The day I saw confirmed customers receive Butterfly products was the day I ordered.
I'm curious, when do you think you'll receive your order?
|
|

I'm going to try this. I can't allow those monster transactions.

It's not his feelings that got him banned, it was his BEHAVIOR that got him banned. He poked the bear, and the bear didn't react. He poked the bear again, and it growled. Then he poked, and poked, and poked, and poked, and poked, and poked, and poked, and poked, and poked, and poked, and poked, then then acted surprised and hurt when the bear ran him out the cave.
"We'll ship in October." "We'll ship in November." "We'll ship in December." "We'll ship in January." "We'll ship in February." "We'll ship in March." "We'll ship in April." "We'll ship in May." No, this is BFL's fault. They are the one doing all the "poking".
|
|
|
Wow, that is one very bad transaction.

Plus, Josh's ego won't let the sort of things the OP said pass without some form of retaliation.
Josh has threatened customers before. Get on his bad side and he'll make sure your order has problems.

Well, what I estimate from their twitter feed, is that units ordered in Feb would be shipped around and about May-June. Units ordered today would currently ship in 2 months.
ROFLMAO. BFL is ordering batches of 100 chips and then taking a few weeks to build them into products. Day 2 pre-orders might get theirs by the end of summer. Feb pre-orders will be lucky to have them by the end of the year.

Wow, looks like the ASICminer blades were snapped up quickly. Looking at the price per GH/s on this auction I am lowering my final price to match.
Why would you think something delivered later to be worth the same as something delivered earlier?

And is an open market not a perfectly weighted dice? Without knowing EVERY variable at a given moment, the variables you do know are meaningless.
The only time bitcoin was close to an open market was when CPU mining was effective. Then, anyone with a computer could simply download the app and start mining. Now that ASICs are available, there is momentum in bringing new hardware online. Miners were purchased months ago, and they will continue arriving and coming online over the next few months. Difficulty increases are going to accelerate as delivery catches up with orders.
