3461  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can social platform mangers lead to a project failure. on: May 10, 2021, 01:26:07 PM
What should the projects do though that are being slandered?
Again the concepts of professionalism should be applied.

A project that finds out someone is running slanderous campaigns about them, should first of all ignore them. Majority of these are trolls, so if they dont get any attention from their victim they will stop.

Still if they dont seem to stop, the project can give a public announcement to clear their name and then never again take any statements about it. This shows that the owners do not care about any hate campaigns but are more interested in developing their own stuff. Gradually though, as I have seen, these trolls stop and they move on to harass others. If you give them attention, they will do more of it. Ignoring them is the first step.
3462  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETC is it worth buy now on an unexpected value ? on: May 10, 2021, 06:40:32 AM
We have seen that recently ETC made big progress in its value as it just booms from 40 USDT to 130+ USDT.
There is a wide difference between  the terms "progress' and "price pump".

Quote
But now is it worth it to be invested in ETC.
No, retrospectively this would be the time to sell ETC if you already owned it. Like those who got ETC as a result of the hardfork of original ETH, they should sell now and cash it out to buy something else.

Quote
Progres of ETC were unexpected and with the heavy pump in the ETH we can clearly see that ETC is also making good progress towards top coins.
What progress happened bro? Zero development and zero progress. ETC was created out of pure spite against the hardfork by some red-pilled bagholders. What you need to do rather is wait till ETH drops and then buy it, if you are so interested in Ethereum or buy bitcoin when it drops.

The earlier people understand this the better. I have seen the reality of what these hard forks do, they are for the betterment and not for some unilateral profitmaking. But people have to take things into negatives and think that everything is a conspiracy because they hurt their heads.
3463  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can social platform mangers lead to a project failure. on: May 10, 2021, 06:27:34 AM
Yes, I have seen good projects fail because their community and moderators are toxic and attack other projects. No one wants to invest in a project that is mean and hateful.
A professional team does not make comments about other projects and even on being questioned the same, diplomatically evade those statements. So you can understand why project that call others bad are never going to the top. Point is that many projects out there are moderated by kids with zero knowledge and manners. That is a fault from the owners side though to hire such a person, even then they dont hire without past experience with projects, kind of like a cutoff criteria for applicants.

Besides if you see such a project, avoid it at all costs. Those who are desperate the make money will be scammers in the long run or having some motive that is malevolent.

I don't think everything is always under control. The failure of a project does not depend only on the manager, but is the responsibility of the project team.
In a broader perspective, this is more appropriate. Every person in a team has an individual role. Everyone is not perfect but that is what makes them unique. A bad apple will ruin the name of the project so careful screening of people getting involved is important.
3464  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] CRYPEX TOKEN - Plagiarized Whitepaper on: May 10, 2021, 06:25:37 AM
The accused is a very questionable account. They post generic posts in random threads to keep themselves active and then post ANNs of unrelated projects. Some of them are even in Korean, while the account says that they live in Bangladesh. Now I am not sure how Bangladesh keep Korean immigrants, but this raises quite a few questions as to the legitimacy of the promoter.

I feel the flag is needed at least for this topic and the copied contents only point towards a scam. Therefore everyone should support this flag.

I hope to hear from the accused about their relationship with this project and if they would be willing to make things right. If they are just a person who is paid to post this topic, they can redeem their name if they remove the topic and stop all partnership with it. Of course the project being a scam will find someone else to do it, but this can help as evidence.
3465  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How future applications would be !? on: May 09, 2021, 05:50:43 AM
Entertainment with blockchain? I remember the LiveSeed project and the Viuly project which I had participated in they were doing things in this line. Viuly met a sad ending to its project but LiveSeed after a few years have been showing some signs of life.

Speaking from a customer point of view, mainstream markets are so widespread and customer friendly, that is has become difficult to raise a niche following of crypto projects let aside the government acceptance and legality of cryptocurrency.

The only alternate way to use crypto in them is allow buying subscriptions at the cost of crypto. But then again a middleman service will be there who will exchange the crypto to fiat which goes to the owners of the app.

This is where the problem begins. As you put in a middleman, they will have some commission, so you as a owner would have to raise the price to even out the costs and get a similar amount back in your pocket as other OTT services are getting. Not just OTT, but any other paid service where bitcoin is being accepted needs this middleman. Unless governments start accepting crypto as a usable currency, this problem will remain.
3466  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can social platform mangers lead to a project failure. on: May 09, 2021, 05:39:42 AM
The thing with bounty hunters is that they are hungry for money and that money-hunger comes from being a bounty hunter itself and not getting paid enough for the effort they put in.

They prefer to join several projects at once and then promote all of them, making the twitter account look like a timed spammer. However SMMs or social media managers are not similar, these are a group of professionals who run social media campaigns and they are important for the marketing of the project. Bounty hunters are nowhere close to that work they do.

I cant say that having good manners to speak to admins is everything. Point is that most projects that have come up are failures from the start.
So if that is the case what role does the SMM does even play? To try to gamble their efforts in trying to make the project look good so people buy it and make sure the owners get some money?

Unlike the mainstream startups where you have a legal status and equities which are recognized by SEC, things are not the same here. Bounty hunters are at the mercy of the team and the advisors who will dump their tokens to drain the market of the token's price before unlocking the bounty hunter's tokens.

It is a messed up situation if you ask for my honest opinion. So I tend to dissuade people from joining any bounty and save them from the endless cycle of frustration and despair. Signature campaigns are much better in this context.
3467  Economy / Economics / Re: The change in buying and selling in society is the effect of the internet on: May 08, 2021, 06:14:01 AM
Is the internet making people lazy or what do you think?
No. Those who wish to be lazy will always be lazy and those who want to be active will be active no matter what happens outside.

Technology helps mankind, that is the important part. However the statement applies more to the 1st and 2nd world countries. In many less developed nations they are still struggling to get a proper working 4G network let alone go with ordering things online. Though E-commerce sites are targeting them and trying to get things improved, progress is slow.

Now to get groceries, one who is diligent will skim through markets to see which one is least costly and by default the online ones will be more costly after their promotional periods run out. So things will change outside and people will also change. You can help it if your country brings in a lockdown on cities and you have to keep yourself indoors.

Also I dont see how this improved crypto acceptance at all. Not a single country has been lenient about allowing crypto neither are they talking steps to allow users to spend it, rather they are talking about persecuting those who already use it.
3468  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: beginner trader: Are trading signals and bots worth it? on: May 08, 2021, 05:58:49 AM
Bots if they are used correctly can help you trade conveniently because you will not be actively managing your funds since you are using a bot that automatically does the orders and stop loss, it looks easy but you have to know how to tweak so you can use the bot's full performance and to your liking.
There is a craze among programmers to use a bot to automate trade. There is no difference in using a bot to day trade and gamble that same money. Whatever reasoning you do to explain one or the other, end result becomes same. Of course if you have a bot that is making your loads of money you would keep it to yourself instead of giving away your trade secret for years to come.

But the foolish newbies think that everyone can create such strategies when they only work in a 50-50 scenario. So they buy a bot, only to get ripped off their money.

So the bottom line is that if you wish to use a bot, use a legit one like Gunbot, or develop your own bot. Never put your trust on a bot that you bought from a shady site.
3469  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Dont see money in Binance! on: May 07, 2021, 05:48:11 AM
I sent $600 ETH from Uniswap to my eth walleti in binance.
120 Block Confirmations

not see it yet??
Firstly I would suggest you to not send from one exchange (A DEX) to another exchange right away in future but use your own wallet in between as a two-step process, especially to prevent this panic inducing situation.

What you can do, copy the wallet address of your Binance Eth wallet and use etherscan.io to check incoming transactions. Try to match it and see if new transactions have arrived in this time period - If Yes, then contact Binance support and ask them to help you out.

Move this to "Service Discussion (Altcoins)".
3470  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Profit Taking Strategy on: May 07, 2021, 05:41:26 AM
Like ADA for example, I have noticed that when it peaks, it trundles on top for a while then will drop to usually a higher low, which is good, but I missed an opportunity to buy back more coins or simply take advantage of a pump.
If the hypothetical coin that you predict about is ADA then I would cash out at the chance. ADA and other coins that were pumped by a notorious youtuber called Suppoman (Supposcammer, if you please) are a part of a pump and dump group due to the following of this youtuber. He was previously banned and is now back promoting some paid coins.

In general if you ever see >20% profits on any altcoin, sell it. For bitcoin a 20% gain is a huge amount because the base price of bitcoin is much higher than any altcoin compared, so you wont see 20% gains in bitcoin or close very soon, but a 5% gain there is quite equivalent. In case you have faith in the coin to go even up, you are free to hold the coin. But trust me, holding altcoins have been much less profitable than holding bitcoin.
3471  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam [BSC] ARTDECO -FAKE TEAM on: May 07, 2021, 05:35:16 AM
Seems like the accused has opposed the flag, I would defenitely like to hear from the accused as to what their reasons are for using stock images as team member pictures. They must be having a valid reason to oppose the flag as well. Lets hope that it is not making money from people by stealing their money. Roll Eyes

They are running some social media campaigns, due to which the twitter page has a number of retweets and likes. Cant understand why the people who do this dont do a background check first.

Flag supported from my end.
3472  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM ALERT] Bitcoin generator - exchanger365x.com on: May 06, 2021, 06:21:46 AM
Its like the old scam bait of "Give me 10$ I will give you 100$ back, Promise!" type.

The domain registration details are a good source to start tracking but considering it is RU, I doubt any law enforcement would be able to track them down.

They even have a chatroom and it is filled with what seems like their own agents running a propaganda that the site is legit and attempt to discredit anyone who reveals the site to be scam. Pretty normal thing though. Greed makes people blind and they forget that there is no such thing as free money.
3473  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I guess personal wallets are a thing of the past now. on: May 06, 2021, 06:15:42 AM
I believe you are talking about altcoin that started after bitcoin and had their own wallet softwares. It was a craze at that time to use the miners to mine these new coins and dump them on exchanges to get paid. Nice rat-race there and although the idea remained same the process has changed. Now we have these DeFi stablecoin pools which need to be "Staked" to get paid. We also have alt/shitcoins which need to mined and sold to get paid.

Overall these hundreds of wallets that you had only meant increased security risks and with bitcoin wallets on the same device, you are defenitely at risk of getting a malware installed if you dont check the code first/are a non-technical person.

I would say it revealed what a unregulated market it was, and that only bitcoin is the thing that people need to buy - the hard truth which people tried to evade by mining altcoins because bitcoin mining was becoming costly and less profitable.
3474  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is there a way to buy XRP? If you're in the US? on: May 06, 2021, 06:10:27 AM
I've visited all the exchanges I know about and none are offering it. Do you any of you know how I can buy some?
Possible reason for this being - https://www.sec.gov/news/press-release/2020-338 and its related outcomes which I have checked yet.

You can read the full court proceeds here - https://www.sec.gov/litigation/complaints/2020/comp-pr2020-338.pdf

My current suggestion for you would be to not deal with XRP for now.

Still if you want to take the risks, you can find a list of exchanges that are known to offer XRP here - https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/xrp#markets

Again the P2P market here on the forum can also be a record free exchange for you. Post a trade in the "Currency Exchange" section of the forum and see if anyone is willing to trade.
3475  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: HOW MANY PEOPLE % DOES REALLY SUCCEED ON CRYPTOCURRENCY on: May 05, 2021, 05:57:43 AM
does anyone have any statistics % or information about how many people either succeed or fail (lose their money) doing trading in cryptocurrencies,
Success or failure is not numerically projected. It is subjective idea that someone can say. Now if you talk about profit, then yes many people make profits from the market and you have a background of stock market trading and know the basics of trading you will also be able to make profit or lose.

You cannot objectively say that this person is a loser or this person is a winner, profits are also fleeting meaning they will change over time.

Quote
also the people who are working on their own coin project( not a scam project)?
Firstly, most altcoin projects have been either scams or failures citing different reasons. You must have heard of startups in real life and how much the hardship is for an entrepreneur. Some people tried to replicate that into crypto and came up with the ICO concept. Very few like than 1% of them became successful. Would not recommend the same to you.

Background knowledge is what should decide on what you should do. If you are looking to make some side earnings, holding bitcoin for the long term after buying at low price is the good option. If you are willing to give more time then day trading might be an option. If you are in to with a vision and giving full time, you can begin your startup. Not financial advice though. Tongue
3476  Economy / Economics / Re: The Modern Mode of Payments on: May 05, 2021, 05:47:00 AM
Although convince people is not an easy thing but atleast we can keep spread the news about bitcoin without thinking to much about the result.
A nice idea but problems start when people start labeling you as a "scam promoter" or a "ponzi promoter". So if you are doing promoting do it with a bitcoin based startup, not by yourself, because you are risking your life if you do it alone.

Quote
Whether they accept bitcoin or not, it is their decision.
True, but the numbers would drastically increase if the governments allowed the trade openly and merchants started accepting bitcoin.

Quote
Big companies and entrepreneurs are who the best people who can do this job. They can make invention or innovative product or service related to cryptocurrency that can benefit people, I think this is the best way to spread the word about bitcoin.
Again the concept of bitcoin based startups, which is becoming common in many countries. New exchanges are being founded and they are trying to spread the word. I think as an individual we can help these reach the groups that need it the most. Crypto can help the small-cap markets and the business owners but it needs acceptance before than.
3477  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why FOMO when a coin is pumping on: May 05, 2021, 05:42:53 AM
Because it is simply hard to buy when price is low or is losing value and it is hard to sell when price ids high or coin is gaining value.
I think first one becomes a little easy when you have faith in the asset you are procuring. Like for a bitcoin user who knows how well bitcoin can be doing in future given in case governments allow cryptocurrencies they will buy it at the next level. Same could be said for the altcoins too but they are always secondary to bitcoin.

The second statement that you made, is a logical one. You dont want to sell all your asset in one go when the price is high. You need to cover some losses you sell a partial amount and hold the rest. When the price goes down you buy back again. This cycle needs to be done to prevent FOMO and FUD and to keep yourself mentally sane with the rise and fall.
3478  Economy / Economics / Re: The Modern Mode of Payments on: May 04, 2021, 07:04:39 AM
The OP does not take into account the prevalence of Bitcoin accepting merchants. Although a pandemic is going on, there has not been any increase in the number of local stores or e-commerce sites that accept crypto. Neither has there been any relaxation on the use and trade of cryptocurrencies in any country. All that has happened is Musk promoting Dogecoin and Indian government reiterating that they will ban crypto, albeit that is not competely true.

It would defenitely help if my local grocery store would accept crypto. But majority of these shop owners dont even understand the technology and the secure use of bitcoin. How can you expect them to start accepting it right away? It will take a long time to make them knowledgable and allow them to use. For this, crypto startups and exchanges should work and make the government accept crypto - that is the first step.

Otherwise this ends up being a dream.
3479  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: TNOS Coin --Plagiarism whitepaper on: May 04, 2021, 06:59:15 AM
Please note all ERC 20 tokens shares same/similar whitepaper other than technical specifications.
You mean every coin is a copy cat of another? If so, then you are a late bloomer. I have watching the market since 2015 and can attest that this is wrong. Whitepapers are a description of what the project intends to do and copying that means you have no original idea and therefore nobody should put their money in it. Yours is a very common excuse among the proven scam projects though.

Quote
Note these whitepapers are shared only by Tether/BitcoinTrue and many other ERC 20 tokens, if you do the research. I wonder you got only two ?
Irrelevant, all those projects who copied each other are plagiarizing and therefore scams. Does not matter which one was project zero and here the topic is about the project called TNOS.

Quote
That means its sharing the common properties of the technology.
OK so Google shares its technology with Apple, Adobe and Facebook? If so the lawsuits and anti-trust laws would not exist. You need to do your own research. Roll Eyes
3480  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why FOMO when a coin is pumping on: May 04, 2021, 06:54:04 AM
I always wonder why a lot of people fomo to buy a coin or token after the price has pumped. In this present bull run I've seen a lot of people FOMO and buy cryptos at a really high price and they quickly dump when they witness drawdowns.
For a newbie entering the market there will be some less experienced users who will buy coins when they go up. For those entering this market from a background of stock market trading will probably not make this mistake.

The common notion is that if its going up it is going to profit, so buy it - but buying point is important, which they forget. Bitcoin needs to be bought at low price if you want to profit in the long term. Altcoins will often pump way more than what is expected because they get pumped and dumped very quickly. These things are not known to any new trader and so I advice newbies to first do dummy trading before putting in their own capital.
