3481  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Terence Crawford vs Shawn Porter - Nov. 20 on: October 29, 2021, 06:50:18 AM
^^ But we don't know for sure if Crawford will sign for an extension with Top Rank. As far as I can remember their contract will end this month. And maybe this is the last time that we might see Crawford under the Top Rank banner. And maybe he will shift to other promotional company that will give him the fight that he wanted and of course the biggest paycheck every fight until he retires.

You might be right.  And this fight is mandatory, so Crawford or at least Bob Arum can't do anything about it but to honor the mandatory. Maybe Bob Arum still doesn't want to have Crawford fighting a tougher opponent in Porter, but it is what it is.

Regarding his contract, they've been in bad taste lately, as Arum said that Crawford can't sell fight and this somewhat offended Bud. So I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't want to extend his contract with Top Rank.

Crawford despite being an undefeated champion does not make a lot of money in boxing, and probably because Top Rank does not give him big fights.
As per this article, his net worth is only $8 million and for me, that's too low considering he has been a boxer for years.

https://playersbio.com/terence-crawford/

Everyone might be avoiding to fight Terence Crawford. They do not want to be his next victim hehehe. Pacman was also avoiding Crawford when the 2 of them were under Top Rank Boxing at the same time. That fight would have easily been organized if Pacman wanted to fight him.

@Darker45. Yes I am serious that crime syndicates use all exchanges to move money across the world. Yes I am serious that being crime syndicates, they can KYC by using fake identities bought from the darknet or pay individuals directly for them to KYC and become their money mules.

Also, do you always trust what people claim on the internet? What if it was a money mule who was trying for a last blow of hope to get back the money? He might also only be a casualty of a crackdown by the Dutch government.

I am arguing from the assumption that the letter from the Dutch government is true. If true, there might be something bigger happening behind this. This is certainly not Binance trying to scam innocent users similar to what some people want to imply.
3483  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-10-28] American Express CEO: Bank Won’t Offer Crypto-Linked Card Anytime on: October 29, 2021, 05:05:22 AM
Crypto linked cards would open a new passage way for moneylaunderers to move money from the cryptospace to fiat. It will also certainly be a problem on compliance for American Express similar to exchanges. However, FTX offers crypto debit cards linked to their exchange accounts for their American customers.
3484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: October 29, 2021, 03:39:03 AM
AJ Green hahahaha. I might drop him and the injured tight end Robert Tonyan. I added Green only this week for my bench. Similar to the cryptospace market, this might be the beginning of the dump for the Arizona Cardinals against the spread.

@DirewolfM14. It was a very good game for Aaron Jones.
3485  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: October 28, 2021, 09:52:47 AM
Read this very inspiring story on Glover Teixeira. It is a long article, however, it is not a waste of your time. I reckon after reading this, this man has a heart of a champion. He might be a good bet against Jan because Jan was against an overrated fighter when he won the championship and his first defense of his championship is only vs. a middleweight.

Guns, smugglers, and impossible dreams: Glover Teixeira opens up on the ‘dangerous’ 43-day illegal journey to U.S. that started it all

Overcoming hurdles in the cage seems easy compared to what Glover Teixeira had overcome to fulfill the American dream.

Ahead of his shot at becoming the oldest man to be crowned a first-time UFC champion when he challenges Jan Blachowicz for the light heavyweight belt on Oct. 30 at UFC 267, Teixeira opened up like never before about his journey from Brazil to the United States as an illegal immigrant on MMA Fighting’s Portuguese-language podcast Trocação Franca.

The Brazilian veteran, who turns 42 the day before UFC 267’s weigh-ins in Abu Dhabi, was one of many kids from the small Brazil town of Sobralia who dreamed about leaving in pursuit of a better life in the United States. The area became infamous in Brazil for an exodus of people trying to enter the U.S. illegally, and Teixeira eventually joined the pack.

Teixeira decided to give it a try when he was just a 19-year-old teenager, five years after his cousins left Sobralia to make a living in America.

Crossing the border was already no easy task, but getting there was a challenge in and of itself.

“It’s tense,” Teixeira said. “It took me 43 days to get here. Everybody knows how dangerous it is to cross the Mexico border. People die, people get arrested, tortured. So [my mother] was very concerned, but also hopeful that her son was going after his dream, going after a better life.”

Anyone watch the game last night? I’m surprised this hasn’t been brought up yet. Brady was a guest on the Peyton & Eli Show and they asked him about his 600th TD ball that Mike Evans gave to someone in the stands by mistake. First Peyton quipped “Are you turning the ball in to an NFT” and then after they were talking about how the guy who gave the ball back getting a raw deal (some estimate it’s worth 500k), Tom then said they are giving him 1 Bitcoin, so it’s not all that bad of a deal. Pretty awesome!!

2:46- bitcoin

The 1 bitcoin given might be worth than the ball on 2027 and Brady might offer the ball in exchange for 1 bitcoin hehehe.

In any case, what is everyone’s evaluation on Dak Prescott’s injured calf? Will he play? The Cowboys are only -2.5 versus Minnesota Vikings. Cowboys can win this -7 against the spread with Dak Prescott, I reckon. Is everyone expecting Dak Prescott to be out of this game?

I think dak will be a go but just follow the practice report.  Even if he plays I would be weary betting on Dallas.  His mobility and throwing on the move make a huge difference.  Injuries to major stars always makes me shy away from betting on either team.

You might be correct. The spread moved from -3 to presently -2. However, the Cowboys have won against the spread 5-1 for this season. They can certainly win by 1 touchdown with 70% healthy Dak Prescott versus the Vikings hehe.

Are the Cardinals really that much better than Packers as the bookmakers seem to imply? (-6.5 or so)

I'm tempted to bet on Packers.

Yes they are but even worse the top TWO Packers WR just went on covid list on a short week.

It would not be shocking if more players in the team were rested to have have the coronavirus by the day of the game. It spreads very quickly.
3487  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Algogems NFT marketplace featured in USA Today on: October 28, 2021, 05:25:22 AM
I am quite certain the article was paid for by someone from Algogems’ team or a whale who invested in the project, however, I speculate that the Gems token might be another 10x gem for this bull market. The market capitalization of Gems has not yet reached $10 million, only at $7 - $8 million. The project is not yet famous but the Algorand Foundation has given it a grant to fund the project.

Also, this being one of the first projects in the growing Algorand ecosystem, I reckon a $100 million market capitalization is very much possible for this project.

There’s an innovative technology that, thanks to a new platform, is available to anyone who wants to get involved in the world of cryptocurrency and NFTs with minimal risk.

Algogems’ platform focuses on improving the NFT marketplace experience. But what is an NFT? NFT is short for “non-fungible token” and it serves as a permanent record showing proof of creation and ownership of all things digital. NFTs are stored on the blockchain (essentially a digital ledger of transactions).

The Algogems platform was built to foster a seamless and enjoyable NFT ecosystem for both artists and consumers. Algogems has given the power back to the artists by providing a way to create and mint NFTs without a fee.

Defi is the only way to buy Gems until it is listed on a centralized exchange.

@Darker45. Is it going to far to say that exchanges in the cryptospace are possibly growing environments for moving money used for criminality?

Also, are you implying that it is more possible that Binance is scamming their own users than being pressured by Dutch government to freeze those accounts?

You also say those users who are complaining are from different jurisdictions, can we assume that those users are really from UK and Canada and did not use fake identities?

I am not defending Binance, however, is Binance really scamming their own users to steal their money?

3490  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China is thinking about unbanning bitcoin mining after price rise on: October 27, 2021, 05:15:23 AM
Too late for that. Mining pools around the world are starting to ban Chinese IP addresses of miners and CCP is not going to force pools to start unbanning them. Maybe they should've thought twice on how such a ban would've affected their political standing (and that of their rivals) before hastily pushing on with it.

Besides, it would interfere with China's carbon-neutral ambitions.

Agreed. China would never surrender on their fight on carbon neutrality. They have stopped their importation of thermal coal from Australia already and this is causing an energy shortage. Also, we may discover that China’s ban on mining is not because they think bitcoin is a threat. They did the ban possibly because they might be expecting more energy shortages.
3491  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China is thinking about unbanning bitcoin mining after price rise on: October 27, 2021, 04:38:00 AM
I created this thread to test everyone. I am very happy to know that everyone has has become skeptical with mainstream news media and cryptonews media. 3 years ago i reckon many people would be larping on that fake news hehehe. The real environment for energy in China is Beijing is fighting for carbon neutrality. The ban on mining will never be lifted.

@LoyceV. That makes the argument stronger that the Netherlands is certainly the largest receiver of cocaine from Colombia and maybe also all other forms of narcotics from all over other countries like Mexican methampetamines. I speculate other exchanges should be receiving letters from the government of the Netherlands.

Also, there was a news update that Massage Watson might be traded to the Dolphins or the Panthers. The relaxation therapists in Miami and Carolina are presently on alert status.

Funny, I always thought they were high end hookers?

They are only high end hookers if they do not file a lawsuit hehehe. However, this Massage Watson is a famous client who relaxation therapists can make much money by filing a lawsuit.

My three-game winning streak come to an end, congrats to bbc.reporter! You just can't win if the opposing kicker outscores your WR1/RB2, you can't.

Thank you hehehe. It was not only the kicker. I was also lucky with Kenyan Drake and Javonte Williams scoring more than 10 fantasy points each. They usually score less than 10 in most of their games this season.

Theoretically, i still have a chance for a comeback, here's what i need from Saints D/ST tonight:

7-13 pts allowed - 3pts
200-299 yards allowed - 2pts
fumble recovered for TD - 6pts
interception - 2pts
sacks x5 - 5pts

total 18pts

NFL weather forecast: Colts-49ers, Saints-Seahawks to see heavy rain, wind in Sunday, Monday prime time games

That would certainly have been the comeback of the week hehe.

Saints won but did not win against the spread. It appears these -4 offers should be avoided, only bet on -3 and -2.5 or less.
3494  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Crypto founder Do Kwon explains why he's suing the SEC on: October 26, 2021, 02:38:34 AM
This is a very important lawsuit not only for Do Kwon and his project Terra. It is also very much important for the cryptospace because this lawsuit might set a precedent for other lawsuits to point to and specify how the SEC is abusing their power to persecute innocent people. We should follow this lawsuit’s development.

Terraform Labs co-founder and CEO Do Kwon, who sued the SEC Friday to quash a recent subpoena, explained to Yahoo Finance at Monday's All Markets Summit that regulators are still learning that some of the code and protocols launched in the sector are no longer controlled by centralized entities, but rather communities.

Declining to comment on the specifics of his latest lawsuit against the SEC, Kwon pointed to the reality of of how new technology is changing how companies like his quickly cede control of projects that are run by token holders.

3495  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / China is thinking about unbanning bitcoin mining after price rise on: October 26, 2021, 01:50:07 AM
What do bitcointalk’s community and users think and speculate about this latest news development? Would anyone consider that the Chinese government might be recognizing that they have made a mistake and might be ready to unban mining for bitcoin and other cryptocoins?

According to CoinTelegraph, China’s National Development and Reform Commission (CNDRM) is now seeking public opinion on the inclusion of crypto mining in its list of “phased-out” industries, after seeing that the ban helped the U.S. to become the world’s dominant crypto mining nation.

It looked like China’s stance regarding crypto mining was finally cemented with the ban imposed in May this year, after it had been going back and forth on the issue since 2019, but now, they are skeptical after most of the Bitcoin hashing power was relocated from China to other states, helping the U.S. become the leading hashrate provider.

3496  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance Seizing Accounts! on: October 26, 2021, 12:38:57 AM
If these claims on Binance are true and if the Dutch government has really been behind this, then we can assume that those accounts are involved in money laundering, drugs trafficking and other forms of financing criminality which used Binance as their exchange of choice.

The Netherlands is also one of the biggest receivers of cocaine produced in Colombia. These claims of lifetime savings being seized are only claims until we can confirm that those people behind them are innocent. Why would Binance seize accounts without good reasons?

Psychotics get their first win of the season!

Will be tough to do when the opposing team is borderline cheating:

Loading...

He's bored running through people and getting TDs on the ground, that's just too easy. iirc he had one against Baltimore two years ago in the postseason. Funnily enough, the first TD of the day was also a trick play, Bourne to Agholor.  What's up with the Chiefs though, no touchdowns, turnovers all over the place, can't stop anybody from scoring...?

My three-game winning streak come to an end, congrats to bbc.reporter! You just can't win if the opposing kicker outscores your WR1/RB2, you can't.

Elijah Mitchell 100 rush yards and a TD, who says no?  Grin

3498  Economy / Economics / Re: Chinese construction Mega-Bankruptcy. Evergrande about to crash for 355B on: October 25, 2021, 01:09:13 AM
Those properties in the ghost cities were not built because the people could buy them. Much of those construction projects in China were built because it helped increase the country’s GDP artificially. What we are presently witnessing is the cost of this unmaintainable scam.
That's what I am trying to understand. If nobody is buying it, and it is artificially increasing the GDP, that still doesn't help the people, that still doesn't help the ones that built it, that just increases GDP for a while in a fake manner, but the reality will be open eventually, which we are seeing right now. I mean did they really assumed they would avoid the consequences of their actions? That literally never happened in history of humanity before, would it suddenly start happening now?

Every bad move has a bad consequence and that is what we are seeing, it was obvious from the start. Even if people managed to buy a few, how many could have they bought? It was obvious that it was a failed move, and the result is exactly what is suppose to be.

I am not certain how and who profits from the scam, however, we can assume that there is always someone who makes money in the scam. Also, this is very much similar to much of the projects in the cryptospace. Project owners will keep continuing the scam until unprofitable or caught by regulators.

Not thrilled about the fact that they are using BitPay to process crypto, but at the moment I don't know of any other provider that has integration with existing POS terminals so their choices may have just been limited.

Everyone likes AMC similar to Gamestop because similar to Gamestop, it is one of the most traded meme stocks. Also, the best measure for a company is the quarterly revenues, if this is going higher or lower yearly and quarterly.

@SFR10. I reckon you have been investing in the cryptospace for very a long time to know what is their real motive hehehe.

@nutildah. Indianapolis Colts +3.5 might be good for a bet. I have not followed these 2 teams very closely, however, the Indianapolis Colts is 4 - 2 against the spread and San Francisco 49ers is only 1 - 4 against the spread. Also, there is argument that Colts might win because San Francisco is on a losing streak and has not won in their home stadium?
